Naming of Dataviews in APO DP

Hello gurus:
I have a very basic question.  I have 2 planning books...one called Hospital Marketing and one called Out Patient Marketing.  Am I allowed to have the same name for a dataview in each one of them.  For instance, I have a Dataview called Forecast under the PB Hospital Marketing and a dataview called Forecast under the PB Out Patient Marketing.   APO let me use the same name, but I'm finding some strange happenings in my macros which are stored in the Dataviews and I'm wondering if it is because I used the same name.  I'm not talking about the Description here, but the actual name of the Dataview.
Must the Dataview names be unique in a Planning Area?
Andrea

Hi Andrea,
There is no restriction on using same name for data view associated with different planning books. APO uses technical UIDs to represent these objects internally.
If it is hard to find out the root cause for your macro problem, you can debug the macro calculation either by setting breakpoing on or using command "ADVA" in the macro builder.
1. Setting Breakpoint on: Select the troublesome macro and right click on it to get the context menu. From which, you can select the breakpoint on/off option. This will allow you to see the data in a pop up for each time bucket in the planning book.
2. Command "ADVA": Enter 'ADVA' in the command field of the macro book screen. This allows you to access the system generated macro book ABAP program, where you or your ABAPer can set the breakpoints and debug the processing.
I hope this information is useful to fix your issue.
Thanks,
Rajesh

  • Stock transfer PRs are not getting created in APO

    Hi,
    I have a plant-to-plant transfer is configured using special procurement type. When APO creates stock.PRs , it does not provide any numbers to PRs and they are not getting trasnfered to R3. CIF model for PIR & POs are running good.
    In CIF post processing these PRs as stuck and  I see " Vendor master data does not exist for plant A" . There is vendor master data created for plant A in R3 and material info record also exists.
    How to de-bug this post processing queue to see what is missing in vendor master data?
    regards,
    shan

    Hi
    Can you explain in detail your scenario..you say plant A so I suppose there is plant named B in your scenario. which one is the source location and which one destination location?
    In Stock transfer from plant to plant scenario, key is to have correct settings for the system to do source determination.
    Assuming plant A as destination and plant B as source. First, The material should be maintained at both the plants.
    You need to have a purchasing info record(ME11) linking your material and the source plant B.
    I assume you are using external procurement type in your material master. Special procurement type 40 (stock transfer)should be maintained in material master.
    Then the system creates a STReq and PurReq using the source plant B. For the system to do this source determination should happen. To verify that..you can check the following...
    When you transfer the purchasing info record, system automatically generates the external procurement relationships with  source location as plant B, destination location as plant A and info record reference.
    When you transfer material master data, the system auto'lly generates transportation lanes between plant A and plant B. (keep in mind transportation lanes should be manually created here)
    So in essence you have to check if all the above things are done by the system.
    Hope Im clear in this

  • Whr should maintained a business system group in SAP APO

    hi gurus,
    where should i maintain business system group in SAP APO
    can u explain me, what is the process, how it will work, why need BSG in APO
    prasad

    Hi,
    We maintain Business System Group in APO IMG.
    IMG >> SCM Basis >>Integration >> Basic Settings for Creating the System Landscape >> Maintai n Business System Group
    In this IMG activity, we determine the assignment to a business system group of this system and the ERP systems that are to be connected. By doing this, you create areas with the same naming conventions. These guarantee that the same names are used for master data and also their synchronization in distributed system landscapes.
    In addition to the ERP systems, this system too must be assigned to a business system group (BSG) as an independent logical system.
    Proedure :
    u2022     Choose New Entries.
    u2022     On the New Entries: Overview screen, specify the following information for the business system group:
                 o     An alphanumerical key (maximum of 10 characters).
                 o     A description of your choice
    u2022     Save your entries.
    Example :
    An SCM System is to be connected with the two ERP systems A and B in which two different materials (for example a hammer and a screw), have the same material number (100). The two materials are to be represented as two different products in the SCM system.
    Assign The two ERP systems to different BSGs. Assign the SCM system to one of the two BSGs.
    u2022     ERP system A (material number 100 = hammer) -> BSG A
    u2022     ERP system A (material number 100 = screw) -> BSG B
    u2022     SCM system -> BSG A
    Hope this gives you insight.

  • Problem adding DataView in SharePoint 2013

    Hello everyone, i have one problem, so please help me... :(
    I have created site collection in SharePoint 2013 with one subsite. I have created a list in parent site (site collection) and when i am adding Empty Data View (with SharePoint Designer 2013) i can not see the list in Data Sources???? What am I doing wrong?
    Tnx,
    Eli

    Hi Eli,
    Here are the steps I performed when add dataview in SharePoint Designer 2013 for your reference(I assume you have create a list named list1 and document library named doclib):
    Open SharePoint Designer > Open sites > enter site collection:
    http://sp/sites/sitecollectionname
    Expand All Files > locate doclib, right-click it > New ASPX > Rename it as test
    Double-click test > Edit file > click yes to open in advanced mode
    Insert tab > DataView > Empty DataView
    Locate <DataSources> </DataSources> part and insert tab > Data Source. Then you could choose your list.
    Then you could choose the fields you would like to add in the Data Source Details panel in the right.

  • Naming of Canon Paper Printer Profiles?

    Hi -
    I have a pro 9000 mark2.  I assume the paper profiles were installed by the driver - is this correct?  There are many of them, and I think I have an idea of what some are, but what does the "N" mean on the end of them?  Any definitive help explaining all the paper profiles - a link etc - would be great, and much appreciated!
    For example (not actual print screen)
    Glossy Photo Paper N

    If you read, I know a novel idea, the specs of the Canon paper you bought, it will tell you which profile to use.
    For instance, Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, recommends you use Photo Paper Glossy II N.
    I don't know the reasoning behind Canon's naming system.  Maybe the 'N' indicates 'new'?
    The driver installation does indeed add the profiles and you should check if you have the most recent one.

  • Compliance Calibrator analysing APO

    Hi,
    I've installed CC4.0 in a 46C release, we would like to run RA against APO transactions, but I can't establish a correct RFC connection without receiving an ABAP error...
    Can you help on the config?
    Thanks very much,
    Enrico

    Hello all,
    apparently the full CC has to be installed into APO also to make the RA run. Done that, you have to create a proper RFC following the naming convention 400_(SID) and create an according record in the Configuration Tab of the Calibrator.

  • APO DP - validation of correct forecast profile

    We are using APO DP V5.0.
    In interactive DP, we forecast at the level of 'product at customer'. For the 'product at customer' characteristic we have navigation attributes, such as 'history type' (eg EPOS, despatch)
    The 'history type' determines which key figure we use as history, and so we have forecast profiles which are relevant for the different history types.
    If a user assigns a forecast profile in interactive DP to a 'product at customer', we want to get the system to check that the forecast profile is actually valid for the relevant 'history type'. We have named the profiles carefully so that, for example, the first x characters of the profile name reflect the history type; so we could have validation logic saying 'if history type = EPOS, check that forecast profile starts with 'EPOS'.
    But how could this validation logic be triggered?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Bob Austin, Atos Origin

    Hi Bob,
    Wow, what a brain bender!
    I think this would require some fairly serious ABAP...
    You can't get the value of an attribute interactively (via a macro function, for example using ACT_IOBJNM_VALUE()).  You would need a Function Module that could manipulate the Planning Object Structure to grab the attribute of the characteristic in question, based on the current selection.
    The name of the forecast profile also can't be done with a standard APO macro function.  We had something similar where we wanted to get the name of the forecast strategy via a macro function, but we ended up needing to create a short Function Module in ABAP that could called as a User Exit Macro.  The trick with the Function Module is that you will need is to tell the system to get the GUID of the current selection, then use that to find the name of the Forecast Profile (field PRPFL) from the /SAPAPO/DP_FCST2 table.
    Once you have that, you could tell the Function Module to pass just the first four letters ('EPOS') back to the planning book user exit macro so that you could then compare that with the attribute value.
    Probably you didn't need me to write this short functional spec, but it was a very interesting problem to consider.  Hopefully somebody else will read this and tell us a much simpler way to do it.

  • APO and BW

    Hi Group
    We have BW 2.1 installed at the moment just for reporting purposes. We are in the process of migrating the reporting to another software. In 3 months we will fully complete the migration to the new reporting software. Thus we will not be using BW anymore.
    At the same time, we are going to implement APO. I understand APO comes with BW also.
    1) My question is, can we expire the existing BW and not use the BW that comes with APO?
    2) I also hearing that APO needs BW engine? Is this true?
    Our intention is to expire the BW completely and use the new reporting software. Also want to use APO for VMI.
    Kindly advice.
    Thanks
    Yuva

    Hi,
           You get BW along with SAP SCM-APO system and cannot be separated. The SAP BW system is fully integrated in APO and can be installed on the same server. The version of BW depends on version of SCM. It can be used to store data but cannot be so performance effective for reporting. You may use the external BW system to report but not needed. You can use BW in APO system to use for all purposes such as storing history from other systems, get the data from APO and store etc. If you dont want an independent SAP BW system, you can still workout. You can store the required data in APO-BW and using reporting tools such as cognos and report on them. SAP BW has a technology named OPEN HUB that lets it send the data from cubes to other systems.
    Finally:
    1) My question is, can we expire the existing BW and not use the BW that comes with APO?
    A: Yes you can expire your independent BW system but cannot live without APO_BW as BW in APO is not separately. You have to use BW atleast the one that comes with APO.
    2) I also hearing that APO needs BW engine? Is this true?
    A: Not completely true. As I said, if you don't want to report using BW, leave the independent BW system and use an external reporting tool to report in BW in APO.
                 In V5.0, there is more flexibility. You can load data to planning area from flat file directly bypassing BW. But if you want to avoid BW all together, you life could be miserable!
    For more information see service.sap.com/scm.
    Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Multiple ECC clients configured to APO

    Folks,
    If multiple ECC clients (001, 002, 003) are configured with a single APO client(001), how does APO system deal with this without causing data issues.
    Say if I updated Material master in all these 3 ECC clients, which version will be refelected in APO system.
    TIA

    Hi Pat,
    Need to maintain different BSG: Business System Group for each R/3  by tcode : /SAPAPO/C2.
    "Maintain Business System Group
        Use
        In this IMG activity, you determine the assignment to a business system
        group of the APO System and the SAP R/3 System to be connected. By doing
        this, you create areas with the same naming conventions. These guarantee
        that the same names are used for master data, and also their
        synchronization in distributed system landscapes.
        Requirements
        As an independent logical system, the APO System must, in addition to
        the SAP R/3 Systems, be assigned to a business system group (BSG).
        Activities
        o   Choose New entries.
        o   On the New entries: Overview screen, specify the following
        o   information for the business system group:
            -   An alphanumerical key (maximum of 10 characters).
            -   A description.
        o   Save your entries.
    Example 1
    An APO System is to be linked with two SAP R/3 Systems (A and B), in
    which two different materials (for example a hammer and a screw), have
    the same material number (100). Both materials are to be represented as
    two different products in the APO System.
    Assign both SAP R/3 Systems to different BSGs. Assign the APO System to
    one of the BSGs.
    o   SAP R/3 System A (Material number 100 = Hammer) -> BSG A
    o   SAP R/3 System A (Material number 100 = Screw) -> BSG B
    o   APO System -> BSG A
    In order to avoid having two identical names and to be able to uniquely
    assign the material numbers, you need SAP extension APOCF005. This is an
    inbound processing product (transaction SMOD or CMOD).
    Material number 100 from BSG A receives, for example, product number 100
    in the APO System and material number 100 from BSG B gets product number
    100_B. This allows you to uniquely assign the materials.
    For inbound processing in the APO System, the following SAP enhancements
    are available as customer exits for master data:
    o   APOCF001 : Inbound processing location
    o   APOCF005 : Inbound processing product
    Example 2
    An APO System is to be linked with two SAP R/3 Systems (A and B). In SAP
    R/3 System A, a particular screw has material number 110. In SAP R/3
    System B, it has material number 120. Both material numbers are
    represented in the APO System by one product, with product number 110.
    Assign both SAP R/3 Systems to different BSGs. If possible, assign the
    APO System to the BSG whose data does not have to be renamed.
    o   SAP R/3 System A (material number 110 = screw) -> BSG A
    o   SAP R/3 System B (material number 120 = screw) -> BSG B
    o   APO System (product number 110 = screw) -> BSG A
    You use SAP enhancement APOCF005 to convert the local SAP R/3 material
    number 120, to the APO product number, 110.
    Note
    For the time being, this second scenario is only supported for material
    masters and product masters. If, for example, the same customer is used
    with different BSGs in R/3 Systems A & B, you must create two separate
    customer locations in the APO System. This applies for the vendor,
    plant, and other master data.

  • Where is the data come from when BW extract data from APO's MSP

    Hi,all.
       The APO system has many datasource,I have activated all the datasource with TCODE RSA5.
      I want to extract APO data to BW(Not APO's),where the APO data come from for BW extract,APO BW or SAP transparent table of APO or APO liveCache?
      PLZ help me,thank you very much.

    Hi,
    APO to BI Data Flow :
    1. Normally APO  DS  naming convention start with "9".
    2. Normally Planning area will provide the data for the DS.
    3. Using one T-Code ( /N/SAP/ ..... Ask APO Person) DS will be generated .In the specified T-Code you will provide the relavant
        Planning area and DS will be generated.
    4.As you know RSA3 is for checing the data for DS.If you found there is no data for some fields then you will check the data at the planning area level (In R/3 table level).

  • Find row in Dataview using ID but Name sorted in alphabetical order

    Hi,
    I have a dataview with 2 columns, ID and Name, where it is sorted by"Name".
    I want to find a row using the ID, namely curID. But the following doesn't seem to work, as I believe my dataview was sorted using the Name column. How can I sort the dataview with "Name", but be still be able to "Find" using its ID?
    dv.Sort = "ID ASC"
    rowIndex = dv.Find(curID)
    Please advice. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Use a plain old for loop then. You could define your own method:
    private static DataRowView FindRow(DataView dv, int id)
    foreach (DataRowView rowView in dv)
    if (Convert.ToInt32(rowView["ID"]) == id)
    return rowView;
    return null;
    And call it like this:
    DataRowView dataRowView = FindRow(dv, curID);
    if(dataRowView != null)
    //found...

  • Single ECC multiple APO

    Hi,
    We have a single ECC system , and 2 different APO systems. The first APO system is already connected with ECC and live.
    Is it possible we open up interface with second APO system using same ECC system (and same client).
    If yes then, BASIS has a question how will the inbound CIF queues be handled wheneverything is CF*
    Please share some thoughts on this
    Thanks,
    TJ

    Hello Tejinder,
    Satish is absolutely right. You have to create separate BSG for two APO systems.
    Please consider all the points he has mentioned. Although I would like to add something on point no 2.
    SAP has standard BADIs to change the names of products and location which will make them unique in ECC system.
    e.g. APO system1 (logical name aposystem1) has product named "A" and APO system 2 (logical name aposystem2) also has product named "A"
    when you CIF these two products to one ECC system, it is going to create conflict in ECC.
    So, you can implement standard BADIs which will change the names of these two products in ECC like A@aposystem1 and A@aposystem2.
    ECC will identify these two products as different products.
    Here are the BADIs
    ZXCIFUSERU08 for material data
    ZXCIFUSERU06 for location data
    I hope below link will help you in implementing this BADI.

    There r two time bucket profiles exist in DP & SNP, namely;
    a. Storage Bucket Profile - used to store the planning data.
    b. Planning Bucket Profile - used to plan and display the planning data. It can have both time span,
    So rather than having two planning areas it better u create two Planning book for Promotion & BOM respectively.
    You specify Storage Bucket profiles during setup of your Planning Area.
    Planning Bucket profiles on the other hand are used to model how you would want to "see" the data for your Planning Areas. These profiles are specified during Planning Book cre

  • Recommendations/experiences using APO-DP in multi-client SCM environment ?

    Hello experts,
    we have an SCM5.0 system using DP/SNP etc. Now we want to onboard another company (Joint Venture) and introduce DP first for them. We are investigating what it would mean to setup another client within our existing SCM system or what challenges we could run into (since the underlaying BW is not truly multi-client capable).
    SAP Note 1413544 says that theoretically SCM is capable of doing so with some limitations since there can only be 1 "master" BW client in an SCM system. Does somebody have / would kindly share experiences working withe several APO clients within 1 SCM system and preferably using DP.
    My questions would be:
    1) if I create a new DP PlanningObjectStructure in the additional APO client - do I need to activate it the "master BW client" (since there is an internal InfocCube behind) ? Does this also mean all POS and PAs are visible in all clients or only in the client where I created them ?
    2) if I want to use RemoteCube to extract data from a DP (or SNP) planning area (ad-hoc reporting on LiveCache Data)- does this go thru the "master BW client" or thru the additional / new BW client ?
    3) Assuming I would create a new DP POS + Planning Area in the additonal client and create planning Books / DataViews - are these PB/DV visible in all clients or only in the one where I created it ?
    Regards
    Thiomas

    Hi Thiomas,
    Though I have not worked for this scenario. However as per my understanding,All APO objects as PA, MPOS ,PB, DV should be client specific and will be  visible in the specific client only. The Tricky portion would be the BW portion. As this would be single one, So the extraction cube and Planning area datsources should be visible in the main client BW.Hence it can be used in the same BW client .
    I hope this should work having the seperate client for DP objects and keeping the same main BW client at the background. Let me also the test results.
    Let me know if it helps.

  • Inforecord in APO inbound Q again and again !

    Even after excluding the info record and the associated materials and locations from all the integration models, the inbound Q error points to the same info record in all intergration model activation (one by one in desired order and also in background all models). I have even flagged for deletion, the inforec in ECC. What could the likely issue. I have even deleted the corr. ext procurement relationship in APO.
    Some pointers would be appreciated.
    what does the inforec log say: source and desination location same.
    what did i do > excluded the material and the locations and the inforec#  from corr. # named models as only the inofrec exclusion did not solve this error.
    Regards,
    Lok

    Loknath,
    Are you getting a failed inforecord queue, or are you getting a failed purchase order queue?
    I hope you are aware that just inactivating a CIF model won't delete any data that already exists in SCM.  Depending on the type of queue that you have failing, the 'bad' master data may already exist in SCM, and that is what is creating your error.
    An important thing to remember is that you have to be very structured in your troubleshooting.  Each time you try something new, you must clear all errored queues first.  Otherwise, you may end up looking at an error that had been generated from the previous experiment, and assume that the current experiment had generated the error.
