    Hello HernanOtt,
Depends on where you have it serviced.  Here are Apple's repair quotes.

You would probably save a lot of money by having a 3rd party repair company do the job for you instead.  Just do a simple Google search for iPod repair and you'll get a plethora of results.

    Hi newipoduser,
    Here are some possible solutions:
Do you use musicmatch jukebox on your computer? If you do, you have to go into task manager on windows and end process mim.exe. It interferes with disconnecting ext devices
    Empty your "trash/recycle bin."
If that doesn't work, try quitting all your programs, especially music-type programs, basically things that look for mp3's etc.
if that doesn't work, "log off" then "log on" and that should refresh/purge your OS system.
Finally, you can restart your computer.
    Hope one of these helps!
    Cheers,

  • 1 iPod Nano 3rd generation and 2 user accounts on Mac Mini

My husband and I share our Mac Mini and we log in under separate user
names. He is the administrator for the computer. My problem started
when I initially purchased Phase and I could not upload it to my
iPod Nano 3rd generation. So in an effort to demonstrate the problem I had my husband log
in to the Mac Mini under his user name and then logged into the
iTunes store using my account information and bought Scrabble. He was
able to upload Phase to the iPod but then when I logged into my user
name on the Mac Mini and went to the iTunes store I could only see
Scrabble (not Phase) and in order to download it I was forced to sync
my Games on the iPod which overwrote the Phase game. So now I only
have Scrabble on my iPod and I can't see Phase in my iTunes account.
    How do I remedy this?

  • HT1329 i have a ipod nano 3rd generation and my iphone 3gs on the same computer if i move my ipod nano to my laptop and i move all my music to from my iphone to my ipod nano

i have a ipod nano and a iphone 3gs on the same computer. Can i put my ipod nano on my laptop and put my iphone songs on my ipod nano?

You can put the songs that on your iPhone onto your Nano as long as these songs are located in the iTunes library on the laptop.  If they are not you will not be able to sync them to the Nano and you will not be able to copy them directly from the iPhone to the Nano.

my ipod won't turn on! i've had it for a while , i just haven't come to use it for the past couple of years. i've tried charging it but it won't turn on. i don't know how to fix it. helpppp! please!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Connecting an iPod nano (3rd generation) to Windows Vista

I have purchased an iPod nano (3rd generation) and I tried to connect it via USB to a Windows Vista Enterprise Laptop. Even though the iPod is connected (as it appears on the iPod screen), Windows fails to locate the driver to install it. I have tried several articles found in the discussions forum, reseting the iPod nano, re-installing iTunes, and rebooting Vista, but no solution given.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

Have not been able to connect to iTunes for months, right about the time Microsoft put out the Zune! Would love to hear from a lawyer about a class action lawsuit againat Apple since this issue has not been resolved and we are required to use iTunes. In the meantime, filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission!

  • A friend gave me an older Nano 3rd generation. Can anyone tell me how to delete what is on there and how to get rid of his name. It does not connect to my itunes. I cannot even find the source or the place to restore it as suggested in the owners manual.

I have a 3rd generation ipod that a friend gave me. I cannot find anything on how to get rid of his name and music on it. This is what the owners manual says:
"Select ipod nano in the soiurce list and click the summary tab" I cannot find the source or the summary tab on itunes. Can any one help me? I would like to delete everything on it and start over but I am afraid I cannot add anything back on it. I know this is detailed and a lot, but I really need help.

    Restore
Note: Because Restore erases all of the songs and files on iPod, make sure toback up any files you've saved on the iPod disk. All of your songs, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, and games can be loaded back to your iPod provided that you have them stored in your iTunes Library.
How to restore your iPod:For Windows:
    1. Make sure you've reinstalled the latest version of iTunes.
    2. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer.
    3. After a few moments, it will appear in the source list in iTunes. If the iPod's display doesn't show "Connected" or "Do not disconnect" you may need to put the iPod into disk mode to proceed.
    4. Select your iPod in the source list and you will see information about it appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows.
    5. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download of the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are:
Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.
Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available.
Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
    6. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will instruct you to leave iPod connected to your computer to complete restore.
    7. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage. Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
    8. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.
    For Mac:

  • HT1363 My ipod nano 3rd generation appears to be in disk mode, I've tried to reset it per instructions, but it will not reset

My ipod nano 3rd generation appears to be in disk mode and it will not reset. can anyone help

Try to reset it more than once if necessary.  By a reset, I assume you mean, toggling the hold switch on and then off, then pressing and holding both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear right?
If nothing else, you'll need to let the iPod's battery fully drain.

Save all the photos from your Droid into a folder on your computer.
Connect your device to your computer. On iTunes left Pane, select iPhone under 'Devices'; then on the right Pane, select PHOTO tab.  Make sure Sync Photo box is checked, and "from" box selected the folder that has Droid's photos.  Then click the SYNC or APPLY button on the lower right window.

  • Does the iPod nano 3rd Generation charge and sync in an iPhone 3G Dock?

I wanna bye an iPhone 3G Dock. Now I have the question if I can connect my iPod nano 3rd Generation to the new dock for syncing and charging. On Apples homepage is the campatibility status set to only iPhone 3G, but I question this because older docks, like the one for the old iPod Photo works with other iPods as well.
The dock connector on the iPhone 3G dock seems to be the same as the one on the charging cable and that cable has to be inserted in the dock. So why should it not work?
I know I could bye the iPhone 3G cradle for the universal dock I already have, but I want to have the ability to make speakerphone conversations with the iPhone in the dock. That only works well with the original iPhone 3G dock.
    Can someone help me?

Bit late on the old reply, but i'm using a different Apple Dock for my Nano. I have the Universal one,but it looked so big for the little Nano. I stumbled across an iPhone one by mistake, but only cost me £7 delivered, brand new.
So in answer to your question, yes. And it enables me to get a skin on the iPod and still use the dock...

  • Using Apple Earphones with Mic and Remote with Ipod Nano (3rd generation)

Hi, I'm just wondering if there is any way i can make the Ipod Nano(3rd generation) compatible with the Apple Earphones with Mic and Remote. I know on the box it says the earphones are only compatible with a few ipods, like the 4th generation ipod nano. But Is there any program i can download or use to allow the ipod to recognize the earphone remote and mic?
    Thanks a lot.

I'm quite convinced the answer is no for that Apple mic.
I do believe recording is possible on the Nano 3G with the right attachment. But I don't think the sound comes through the headphone jack the way they do on the nano 4G and iPhone 3G/touch.
This review http://www.macworld.com/article/60004/2007/09/3gipodnano.html says it's possible, but when I look at "Belkin, Griffin Technology, and XtremeMac" I don't find much... doesn't sound like they worked very well ... the iKaraoke is compatible
