  • Changing NAT type from moderate to open for PS3 on...

    Hello,
    Pretty simple really.
I want to be able to change my NAT type from Moderate to Open whilst playing FIFA 12 on the PS3.
I am using a BT Home Hub 2. I have read various posts about Port Forwarding and DMZ but what is the method that will open the NAT type indefinitely. I have read that it can only be altered temporarily due to the Home Hub updating it's settings periodically and re-enabling the firewall.
Any help or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

  • XBOX LIVE. HOW TO CHANGE NAT TYPE FROM MODERATE TO OPEN, HELP:(

I am completely stumped. I am not a technical person but I'll explain the best I can. I have an airport express.. that's connected to my westell wirespeed modem which gives wireless internet to all my computers at my house.
i also play xbox. i use the internet sharing feature on one of our mac mini's to connect to the xbox. however, the nat type is moderate. i have no idea how to change this to open. please help cuz its frustrating because i pay 60 dollars a year and i do not get the most of my subscription. for example, i can't join party's or join some games..
and also, i read online that if i put my ip address to the address bar, you could change your nat type. but the problem is, every ip address i put into the address bar, nothing comes up. in my airport utility, it says my ip address is like 10.0.1.1.
i am so confused. please help!!!!!!!!!

  • Can't change NAT type from moderate to open.

Hi, this is my first post.
As the title says, my NAT is always moderate in CoD BO2 on the PC, when i was with Virgin cable it was always open.
It being moderate is causing me disconnection problems, which is a huge PITA in gaming.
Things i have tried in order to correct the problem :
    1. I have forwarded all of the correct ports.
    2. I have turned off the homehub's firewall.
    3. I have given the PC a static IP address (in the correct range, i've worked in IT for over 20 years now).
    4. I have turned off the Windows firewall (which was allowing BO2 anyway).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Where do I call to change my NAT configuration from "Moderate" To "open"?

I have already port forwarded, reset modem for 5 minutes, tried new IP adress, Switched in between wired and wireless, and nothing happens.

#1 What is the brand and model of your modem?
#2 What is the brand and model of your router?

  • Changing Nat settings from moderate to Open

    How do I do this.

I guess you want to do this for using the x-box with the router. For this , access the router from the wired computer using http://192.168.1.1 . The default password is admin
On the web ui , click on the "Applications and Gaming" tab and forward port 88 and 3074 for the ip add of the x-box .
Go to the "setup" tab and change the MTU size to 1365

What device is upstream from the router?  If you have a modem that acts as a router as well, then you might have a double NAT problem.  It's a well documented problem and can usually be solved by bridging the modem or configuring the router to work as a switch only.

Nope, only 1 xbox can connect to the 2wire unit at one time.  Other users have added a router behind the RG to connect more xboxs.

Trying to watch a video on quick time player and i keep getting this message You may need to install additional software to open this type of file. what do i need to install and how

I believe there is a technique which uses some similar suggestion to unwittingly tempt the user into installing malware, in order to be able to watch some (usually sexually explicit) video, so be aware of this ruse.
The only things I would download would be Perian that extends Quicktime, available here,
    http://www.perian.org/
and if that did not do it, then try VLC to use instead of Quicktime.

hey i have a iphone 4s 64gb but and using the internet share .. how can i change the nat type from strict to open please help me

You will have to configure that with your router. Type your router's IP address in the search/domain bar and allow port forwarding.
What is requiring you to have an open NAT? That issue is usually for gaming consoles, etc.

  • I am trying to change my NAT type from strict to Open so i can play with my friends but i dont know how to do it on my Apple Airport. Help please?!?!

    .

Unfortunately, the AirPorts are not listed as Xbox Live-compatible routers ... so there is no guarantee doing this will get Open NAT status for Xbox Live!
The following web blog does a great job explaining the NAT issues with Xbox Live! Basically what it comes down to is that although you can get an Internet connection for the Xbox with the AirPorts, you may not get the necessary NAT setting (Moderate or Open) for the Xbox Live! on-line game that you want to play. As such, you basically have two options: 1) Create a DMZ (Apple calls this a Default Host) for the XBox or 2) Configure the AirPort for Port mapping to open the required ports to allow Xbox Live! access ... or 3) Use a compatible router.
    Option 1 - Create a DMZ
AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort > Manual Setup > Internet > NAT
Enable default host at: <Enter the IP Address for the XBox>
Option 2 - Configure Port Mapping
The following ports must be available for Xbox Live to operate correctly:
    UDP 88
    UDP 3074
    TCP 3074
To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the Xbox 360.
AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort > Manual Setup > Internet > DHCP tab
Click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
    Reserve address by: MAC Address
    Click Continue.
MAC Address: <Enter the MAC hardware address of the Xbox or the MAC address of the wireless depending on how you connect the XBox to the network.>
IPv4 Address: <enter the desired Private IP address>
    Click Done.
    2. Setup Port Mapping on the AirPort.
AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort > Manual Setup > Internet > NAT > Configure Port Mappings
    Click the "+" (Add) button
Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
    Public UDP Port(s): 88, 3074
    Public TCP Port(s): 3074
Private IP Address: <enter the DHCP Reserved IP address for the Xbox you created earlier>
    Private UDP Port(s): 88, 3074
    Private TCP Port(s): 3074
    Click "Continue"

    Hello Mats in Sweden!
I'm from Austria, not so far away! The file that you've received seems to be a Windows Media File and you may need a special software for your iPad to be able to open it. I've found something HERE.
If you open this link on your iPad it should take you to the App Store, resp. open it. The price for this app is 1,59 €.

You could try Videora (http://www.videora.com/) - the downside here is that they have specific versions for specific phones, and sometimes it will makea file that plays perfectly in the desired phone but can't be shared to other models. The don't show a version for the N79, but try the N96 one because the N96 is the most similar OS to yours that they offer.

  • E5 - unable to open. object type not supported

    hi.
2 Month back i brought Nokia E-5 Mobile and after few weeks i upgraded the Memory from 2Gb to 8GB. After copying all files from 2gb to 8gb am not able to open or install any existing programs and files. Even maps are not working. When trying to open or install the files am getting this erro " unable to open object type not supported " . Kindly help on this error.
    Thanks
    Velavan

I have never attempted what you did, so can't say for certain, but I don't think memory card data is meant to be copied from one card to another (unless we're talking about data files like pictures or mp3's).  I don't understand what you mean by being unable to install files.  Are you trying to reinstall the programs that aren't working?  If your 2GB card still works normally, I suggest you format the 8 GB card, reinstall the programs to the empty card, and re-download the maps data.  If the programs still give you trouble, you may need to uninstall them from the 2 GB card first, but I don't think that should be necessary.  I hope that helps.

  • WRT54G2V1 Need Open NAT for Destiny PS3

I currently have a Linksys WRT54G2V router. My Playstation3 has a wired connection to my router. With my current settings when I play Destiny on my PS3 I have a moderate NAT, and would like an open NAT. My ISP is Charter Communications. I do get a public IP through to my router, and have tried portforwarding. Am i missing anthing? Do i just need a better router?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have?
Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Link>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAT6 is recommended.
Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask.
    http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=88e63d78588142e6bb68e22d7faf2046_Configuring_the_M...
If the ISP modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: Link>http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm and http://computer.howstuffworks.com/nat.htm If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.
