Navigations-Erweiterung in Dreamweaver

Hallo
Also beispielsweise "home"-"Galerie"-"Kontakt"    horizontal oben

Trigger - Befehle komplett in Javascript-Code "einpacken"

    The only problems that I am aware of with the updater are
    these:
    * Some third party extensions currently don't work with
    Dreamweaver 8.0.2.
    * The Test SQL Statement panel doesn't render correct results
    for MySQL
    functions.
    * The recordset dialog box strips out the MySQL CONCAT()
    function from
    SQL queries.
    Item 1 isn't a major concern to me, as I rarely use the
    extensions
    affected (mainly MX Kollection 3 and extensions created by
    Tom Muck).
    Items 2 and 3 do concern me, but since I'm aware of them, I
    can easily
    work around them.
    I have installed the 8.0.2 updater, and don't have any plans
    to
    uninstall at the moment. The changes to the server behaviors
    improve
    security, so that's an important reason to update. On the
    other hand, if
    you rely heavily on extensions created by InterAKT or Tom
    Muck, you may
    be better off waiting until they have updated their products,
    too.

  • Navigation Bar Question in Dreamweaver

    How do put text on the links in the navigation bar in dreamweaver - this is text the person would see when they rollover the link in the navigation bar

    There are two attributes that may be used to place text on a navigation bar in Dreamweaver but I would strongly urge you to not create navigation that is not easy for the visitor to figure out.
    The first is through the use of an alt tag thusly:
    <a href="where_this_links_to"><<img src="images/your_nav_image" alt="What_the_link_is" /> </a>
    This will be picked up in Firefox.
    You may use the title attribute for all other browsers, which will cause a tool tip to appear after a certain hover time thusly:
    <a href="where_this_links_to"><<img src="images/your_nav_image" alt="What the link is" title="What the link is" /> </a>
    alt tags are required for screen readers to assist persons without sight and title tags are generally used to make what is not apparent, apparent.
    Again, if your navigation is not understandable, your website design should be corrected so that it is.

  • Dreamweaver help! creating navigation bar?

    how do i create a navigation bar. my dreamweaver help says a
    nav bar has a up. down and over image but doesn't actually tell me
    where to get this image or how to create it??
    if this is going to be too complex i don't mind just having
    my nav bars as text link but can't seem to spread my 7 links out
    horizontally as i can only have two space bar in between each text?

    You and me both my friend! I just got off the phone with
    "tech support" trying to pay for a single incident ($35) so they
    could walk me through putting a navigation bar on my website. It's
    so frustrting dealing with some of these techs. I don't want to be
    politically incorrect here, but I always wind up with someone I can
    hardly understand ( accent ). This stuff is hard enough to follow
    with a language barrier. Then I called in to tech support, they
    told me I had to pay that I was out of complitmentary assistance,
    so they transferred me to sales, who after speaking to two more
    people I had trouble understanding, I was transferred back to tech.
    support who asked me if I had paid for a plan! Then she says she
    can take the credit card etc., when I got through with that she
    tells me that she can't walk me through putting the nav. bar
    directly on my web site, that I'll have to open a new page and to a
    sample one. ( which means when I finish I'll have to remember all
    the steps and try to duplicate it on my own site. ( you know how
    that goes! ) It's infuriating. I wound up spending an hour and got
    nothing, they couldn't even just charge my card so I'd have credit
    toward one call later. ( I had to go after dealing with this for 45
    minutes)
    Anyway, You have to go to Firefox or maybe photoshop to
    create the background image. I did some in Firefox, but for the
    page background, not the nav. bar. You would open a new page, put
    in the size ( pixels ) you need, then use the rectangle tool to
    outline that which selects it. Then you can go to the bottom of the
    screen and select the color and gradient tool to create some cool
    color effects. The thing I don't know is how to know exactly what
    size your navigation bar is going to be ahead of time so to size it
    right. I understand it has to be exact. This tech told me that they
    can't help with any "design issues", like color, where it goes in
    your website, etc. If they talk you through how to do it on a blank
    page and then you have trouble on your real website, well that's
    another issue and another $35. But I don't even understand if they
    will help you on the real website. NIGHTMARE!!!!

  • How to integrate an page created in Dreamweaver

    I've created a site in iWeb. For my audio page I want to use a specific flash player that I could not get to work by merging it in my audio iWeb page (some conflict with one of the .js file). So my solution was to hack it. By that I mean I recreated the iWeb navigation bar in Dreamweaver so everything looks the same but now I need to change the links of my audio tab in the iWeb navigation bar (again my "hacked" page lives inside another fold in my audio folder and I can't move it.) So my question then is where are those links coded so I can updated them? I suspect it would be in one of those .js files but could not find anything that look like links in there.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated or a better solution if there is!
    cheers,
    Message was edited by: marc baril

    One method would be to put your Dreamweaver page on the server and then link to it either thru a text based hyperlink or thru a dummy blank page in your iWeb site that has the name of the DW page you want to use. This will put your DW page in the navbar at the top of each iWeb page.
    In the blank page add the following code to an HTML snippet:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    parent.window.location = "URL TO DREAMWEAVER PAGE YOU WANT TO REDIRET TO"; </script>
    Thanks to Cyclosaurus for the code
    This will immediately redirect the visitor to that DW page when they click on the link in the navbar. To get back to the original site you will have to put a hyperlink in the DW page sending the visitor back to the desired iWeb page of your site.

  • Video in Navigation bar

    Is it possible to use a short video as the roll over feature on a navigation button in Dreamweaver? If it is, how?

    An actual video as a rollover could be done, yes, but there are a lot of drawbacks (load times, needing javascript for your navigation menu, browser support of file types used, etc).
    Would using an animated .gif be possible with your video?
    Generally, an animated .gif would have much better support across browsers/versions/platforms.

  • Where's the navigation element in Dw6? Or how do I create one for a new site?

    I can't find the navigation element in Dreamweaver 6

    This is where it is in Dreamweaver CS6 (version 12.2):
    The HTML5 elements were added to CS6 in an updater. If all you've got are div tags and Spry options, it sounds as though you're using the original release of Dreamweaver CS6.
    Whether you have access to the updater will depend on your version of CS6. If you bought it as a perpetual licence, you have access to the security updates available here: Adobe - Dreamweaver Support Center : Updaters. I don't know if any of those updaters add the new features to the Insert panel. I suspect they don't. This is one of the drawbacks of the perpetual licence: you get the original software and it never expires, but you don't get the new features offered to Creative Cloud subscribers.
    If the updaters don't add the HTML5 elements to the Insert panel, you will need to insert them manually in Code view. Sorry.

    I created a drop down Navigation Menu in Dreamweaver CS5 by using the Spry Menu Bar. After I customized the colors I noticed that the drop down tab were appearing correct, but on the left if i widend the screen all the tabs were listed off the page.I have the website I created centered so u can see the tabs to the left.
    Attached is a picture.Can someone help me what did I do wrong?

    IMO the entire layout is in trouble not just the menu.
    I would start over with a pre-built CSS layout and ditch the tables.  You really don't need tables for layouts and should only use them when displaying tabular data (spread sheets & charts).

  • Programmatically creating a navigation bar

    I am attempting to programmatically create and drive an OAF Navigation Bar bean. I can successfully instantiate the OANavigationBarBean and get it to appear on the page. However, I am unable to programmatically add any links to the navigation bar. I have attempted to do this programmatically in the processRequest method of the Controller of page1, using the following code:
    OAPageLayoutBean oapagelayoutbean = (OAPageLayoutBean)oawebbean;
    OANavigationBarBean oanavigationbarbean = (OANavigationBarBean)createWebBean(oapagecontext, "NAVIGATION_BAR", null, "TheNavigationBar");

    oalinkbean1.setRendered(true);
    oalinkbean1.setID("Step1");
    oalinkbean1.setLabel("Step1Label");
    oalinkbean1.setText("Step 1");
    oalinkbean1.setUINodeName("StepOneNodeName");
    oalinkbean1.setDestination("/oracle/apps/ak/myapp/server/page2");
    oanavigationbarbean.addIndexedChild(oalinkbean1);
    oapagelayoutbean.addIndexedChild(oanavigationbarbean);
    This code compiles but doesn’t do anything when the next button is clicked.

    As you can see, you are in for a lot of work with this popup
    menus...
    read these 2 articles before going any further:
    http://www.apptools.com/rants/jsmenu.php
    http://www.apptools.com/rants/menus.php
    The best way to use a navigation menu across all your pages
    is to either use
    DW templates or Server Side Includes. (SSI). However, the DW
    popup
    navigation system doesn't play nice with Templates.
    There are better ways to build these menus, mention of this
    is in the
    articles above. The will be much easier to maintain across
    your whole site.

  • Validation errors javascript navigation bar

    I created a navigation bar using Dreamweaver CS3 wizard. I
    got several error messages. After I replaced all the uppercase
    letters with lower case, I had only one error message. I know
    nothing about javascript and I may have messed something up.
    Dreamweaver put the navigation bar in a table. I got rid of the
    table and put it in div tags. I also moved the part that goes in
    the head to an external sheet. Here is coding from the page:
    quote:
    <div id="mainNav">
    <div class="buttons"> <a href="#" target="_top"

    DW will not do this. Furthermore, if you rename or move a
    linked file, you
    will break that link, since DW cannot manage them either.

  • Spry drop-down nav bar not working in Netscape 7

    Hello
    My site is up at www.Frontiers.uk.net.
    I built a drop down navigation menu using Dreamweaver's new
    Spry feature. It works fine in IE 6 & 7, Firefox & Mozilla,
    but in Netscape 7 (the only Netscape I've tested), the dop-down
    menus don't always appear (eg under Courses), and the submenus,
    which should slide out to the right (eg. next to 'Children's
    courses' under Courses) - do not work.
    This bothers me as my stats (LiveStats) say that 30% of my
    users (the highest amount) are using Netscape 7.x. Which I find
    strange (I don't think that figure includes Firefox as the stats
    list that separately).
    Anyone else have this problem, and any idea how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    James

    Have you contacted Project VII support or searched their knowledge base?
    http://www.projectseven.com/support/index.htm
    Also, is there any way to remove unused styles (in an external CSS) in DW? Just it would be a pain to go through and remove the styles I've tried, but then later decided not to use.
    Not exaclty a DW answer, but I've used the free FireFox add-on to help me find unused selectors. Point it to a sitemap.xml and it can spider the whole site (as listed in that xml file).
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5392
    But be careful with it. It apparently doesn't read JavaScript and your PMM triggers are actually used.
