Need a fix for ORA-00209

Hi
Getting this when trying to start Oracle
ORA-00209: control file blocksize mismatch, check alert log for more info
I am on SQL*Plus: Release 9.2.0.4.0 - Production

Where is the DB_BLOCK_SIZE defined? Also I am getting nothing in the alert file
I assume that it is to be in the init<SID>.ora file right?

  • Is there a fix for ORA-13347 (sharable?)

    Hi,
Would anyone be willing to share their PL/SQL fix for: "ORA-13347 Description:the coordinates defining an arc are not distinct" ?
I really do not wish to change the tolerances that I have set.
The offending arc may be one of many within the linestring. I would assume the fix is to change that particular arc to a line but the "how to" escapes me.

    Hi,
According to your description, it seems that the issue is related to Outlook 2003. This forum focus on Exchange 2013. Additionally, Outlook 2003 is no longer supported in Exchange 2013.
I suggest we can ask this question in Outlook forums for more professional answers:

  • Need Spacebar FIX for Win & 64BIT

    Hello:
The spacebar will not work as a move tool on my computer.
I tried closing my browser. Someone kindly posted a fix but it is only for 32bit.
Does anyone at all know of a fix for a 64bit system?
I'm desperate to fix this problem.
    Thank You,
    Murph

Yes, it is a shame. I am on hold with Microsoft right now. I can hardly understand his accent but I think he caught the gist of what I was saying.
As long as they get their money from us they're fine. Same "stuff" as every other industry on the planet.
Well indeed I received the blame game from both Adobe & Microsoft. So sad. After a nauseating phone call w/Micro they just told me to call the manufacturer of my computer.
Off to fetch a mouse. I'll bb to luk if the mouse works. Fingers totally crossed b/c Ps will be useless to me otherwise.
Thank you so much for your time and assistance.

  • Need a fix for Muse upload problems to GoDaddy????  I found one!

GoDaddy now has a new cpanel named "Plesk".  In that panel you will find File Manager.  (I use the Windows version).  In the left panel of File Manager, you will see the root directory and all of its subfolders.  When you click on any of these folders, you will see their contents in the right panel.  You will also see a folder labelled "httpdocs".  This is the default folder that is set up in GoDaddy to be your "home" folder.  So, to fix your upload problems, do these steps:
    1.  Click on the httpdocs folder to see it open in the right panel.  In the toolbar above the right panel, you will see a green plus sign with the word "New".  Click on this drop-down menu.
    2.  Choose "directory"
    3.  Type in the name of one of the folders that your site will need, e.g. images, css, assets, scripts, etc.  This basically creates a subfolder within the httpdocs folder, right?  (There is a way to see how your Muse site sets up these folders prior to publish or upload.  You do this by choosing "Export as HTML" in the File menu of Muse, creating a folder on your desktop (or wherever) for the HTML export, then inspecting its contents after your save it.)
    4.  Continue to create all the subfolders within httpdocs that you will need.  Unfortunately, you have to do this one folder at a time.
    5.  After you have them set up, begin the process of uploading your site, like this:
    6.  In the File menu in Muse, you'll of course see "Upload to FTP Host ...".  Click on it.
    7.  A dialog box will open.  In the top text field, type in your website name ... you must use www. with your entry
    8.  In the "FTP Host" field, type in your domain name again like this ... "ftp.yourdomain.com" ... NO FORWARD SLASHES!!! (even if you find instructions to the contrary, like in Filezilla)  (Also, your domain might be a .org or .net, instead of a .com)
    9.  In the "Host directory" field, YOU MUST ENTER "httpdocs"!!!!  Despite what you learn, DO NOT LEAVE THIS FIELD BLANK!!!
    10.  Then enter your GoDaddy username and password.  (If you set up a different username for your GoDaddy account and your Plesk account, like I did, then use your Plesk username and password.)
    11.  Click on "Upload:  All Files"
The next few steps are tedious, but necessary to keep your site organized on GoDaddy and to keep from confusing things.  You can probably get away with it, but, if your site doesn't load properly in a browser after doing the above steps, you'll need to click on each folder in the root directory that you copied as a subfolder in the "httpdocs" folder and delete the files.  For example, in the left panel of File Manager, you'll see the root directory.  Click on the "images" folder.  If there are any images that you need for your site in that folder, delete them.  Remember ... you've already copied them over to the images subfolder in httpdocs during your last upload described in the instructions above.  If you don't trust that you can delete them, click on the "httpdocs" folder, then click on the "images" folder and check the files.  Same files, right?  So, go ahead and delete the site files that you find in the appropriate folders in the root directory, making sure that you don't delete the ones that are NOT duplicated within the "httpdocs" folder.  Also remember that your .html pages will not require a subfolder to be set up in the "httpsdocs" folder.  They can just sit there, looking pretty.  But you will have to delete them from the root directory to keep things tidy.  Just click on the folder icon next to "root directory", and you'll see those html pages in the right panel.  Again, delete them.
REMEMBER:  To keep your Muse uploads to your GoDaddy site error free, you must ALWAYS make sure that "httpdocs" appears in the "Host directory" field in the "Upload to FTP Host ..." dialog box in Muse.  And all files and folders that your site needs MUST go in the "httpdocs" folder in the root directory of your site in GoDaddy's File Manager (now found in your Plesk Panel).
I hope this wasn't too confusing.  If so, call GoDaddy.  I called them with this fix and they are using it in their phone support.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was going out of my mind. And GoDaddy was no help (although they're usually really good.) I put all the folders in "httpdocs" and the website worked perfectly!

  • Fix for ORA-00060: Deadlock detected errors

    Hello APEX community,
in the last days we are hitting more and more frequent the ORA-00060: Deadlock detected error in one of our applications. Logged an SR with Oracle Support but so far not too much help, except pointing to some older bugs:
Bug 6618662: APEX APPEARS TO BE CAUSING DEADLOCK - CASE COLLECTION or Bug 7587013: INSERTING AND DELETING WWV_FLOW_DATA CAUSES DEADLOCK, which do not look at all appealing as the first bug was logged in Nov 2007 and the resolution was delayed from version 3.1, to 4.0 and even to 4.1, while de second was logged in Nov 2008 and not much happened with it.
I am curious how many other users are hitting the same issue and which workarounds found for the problem. For example yesterday I could see 12 such errors in my log, today already 3.

    Hi John,
here it is: http://www.moyersoen.be/auction/1442/ or http://www.moyersoen.be/pls/apex/f?p=2008:11:0::::P11_AUCTION_ID:1442. Normally the page response time is < 0.20, but from time to time it goes up to more than 20 seconds and at those times I can see also the ORA-00060: Deadlock detected errors.
Looks like the users are clicking twice refresh for that page. I am trying now to build a testcase that reproduce the issue easily.

  • Need a fix for OSX 10.4 and iPad

The reason I bought a Mac 5 years ago was the reputation and reliability of the product. Shame on me for buying a machine that just wont break! There is no reason to replace my iMac, enter the new Apple iPad that I received for college graduation. I have 15k pics and 6k songs on my iMac, not to mention a couple hundred movies. I now have an iPad that can hold none of them because I have OSX 10.4.11. Apples solution, upgrade to Snow Leopard, oh wait...mines not Intel. Well upgrade to Leopard, but we don't sell it anymore so you'll have to go to ebay or amazon and find it used! Now we're looking at an additional $200 for an out-of-date OS upgrade just to make it compatible with my new and innovative iPad. Way to go Apple, you really dropped the ball on this one.

Jerry, if you must know. I'm a full-time working adult with a wife and two kids. If "Fortunate enough" falls along the lines of taking 11 years to graduate (b/c I paid as I could afford it) and having my wife "give" me an iPad, which essentially IS my income, then yes...I am fortunate enough in Jerry's eyes.
I am not part of the "I'm entitled" generation. I'm just somewhat frustrated that Apple has produced a great piece of technology but did not go the extra step in making it compatible with 10.4.11.
Come on guys, why all the personal attacks? Is this really the purpose of these boards. Anyone heard any rumors that there may be an update that will allow back compatibility. Anyone have any simpler solutions for a fix?
Has it really come down to a bunch of spoiled rotten people that can only throw out insults instead of offering any help? Or just skipping the thread they have SOOO much hate for and moving on? Really?

  • Need a fix for the 'folder last opened date'

I have been using Hazel [from www.noodlesoft.com] to set the colours of recently opened or modified files to make them easier to spot.
Within Hazel, I have set rules to monitor files contained in a named folder (and sub-folders contained therein) so I can visually spot what I have recently been working on. The rules achieve this by setting the label colours of:
    • files worked on in the last 2 days to 'Green'
    • unless already set to 'Green', files worked on in the last 7 days to 'Blue'
    • unless already set to 'Green' or 'Blue', files worked on in the last 14 days to 'Purple'
    • remove label colours for all files labelled 'Purple', 'Green' or 'Blue' that were last worked on over 14 days ago
Hazels works very well and achieves the effect I am after for files contained in that folder and its sub-folders. No problems there.
The problem I have is in defining a similar scheme of rules to apply to FOLDERS using a rule in Hazel to set the colour of a folder (or sub-folder) by reference to the date on which a folder was last opened.
For some reason, Finder does NOT update the last opened date for a folder. In fact, I have discovered (by painstakingly getting information a folder at a time) that a number of folders have date anomalies like the example below:
    Date created: 4 Sep 2006
Modified date: today [which is correct as I deleted a file from in this folder]
Date opened: 31 Oct 2006 [which ignores that fact I had to open the folder today to delete the file...]
Any ideas on what could be going wrong here? Or more to the point, how I can fix this? I have run Disk Utility and using Onyx, ensured all three maintenance scripts have been run.
    Any thoughts?
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I am going to have to abandon Firefox and go back to IE. The fact that there has been no response is extremely disheartening. I am quite sure there is some malware involved and don't want to risk ID theft. This kind of problem should be the #1 concern for a browser company. I have regrets because I like Firefox otherwise and think it superior to the other browsers on the market including IE. C'est la vie.

  • I need a fix for downloads on Mac.  Currently only downloading .part files and can't find the problem.

I am struggeling to download files in any format (i.e. pdf, dmg etc.).  It deosn't bring up the download list anymore and  in finder under downloads, it has the following suffix eg. xxx.pdf.part.  The file size is usually 0 bites.  Any advice?
Another comment on this forum back in 2009 suggests donloading applejack.  This did not seem to fix the problem and the latest version only indicates support up to Leopard.  I am currently running Lion... so a little nervous downloading this.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated, since I am highly dependent on this facility for my studies and other activities!!

The first step is to disable or remove that download manager entirely. That in itself is a likely cause of your problem.
The following can be tried in any order:
    — disable all the other extensions in your browsers and try again.
    — are you running any AV software or using Little Snitch? If so, disable those. You'll probably also have to kill those in Activity monitor, as both run background helper processes that run when the main app isn't and can interfere with network connections.
    — look in your Login Items in
     > System Preferences > Users & Groups | Login Items
and remove any 3rd party apps that are there. Restart the computer and test again.
If you've tried all those and still have the problem, report back.

    Regards,
    Karthik

    Your database faced media failure.
    Oracle says...
ORA-01242 data file suffered media failure: database in NOARCHIVELOG mode
Cause: The database is in NOARCHIVELOG mode and a database file was detected as inaccessible due to media failure.
Action: Restore accessibility to the file mentioned in the error stack and restart the instance.
Oracle was unable to write to the file and instance got terminated.
Is this your production database ? Your first step is to keep the database in archivelog mode.

  • Need a fix for form error checker

I have a form that i have 'tabbed' that shows different
groups of req'd information depending on the clicked 'tab'. The
other 'tabs' are hidden via JS. When I have an error on a hidden
tab of the form, the built in CF form validation breaks and submits
the form uncompleted. The reason i tracked down is that the
generated JS error checking form tries to set the focus to a hidden
area and has a heart attack and bails out before it gets to 'return
false;'. I would like to fix this without changing the original CF
code as this is a isolated incident but is their a way i can bypass
    that part?

Thanks for the thought but this does not fix this problem. It only happens on inbound calls and the volume cannot be adjusted and it stays on eardrum-breaking top volume for the duration of the call. When I Googled this once, they seemed to say this is a chronic problem. Corrupt software?
The phone is fully updated with iOS 6 and apps up-to -date. Use iCloud for all three devices and all works well with this one exception.

  • Need a fix for page loading halfway down.

On my laptop, the page for "Glory of Rome" a facebook game, loads halfway down the page. On my desktop I do not have this issue. Would you please provide some suggestions on how I may fix this issue?

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was going out of my mind. And GoDaddy was no help (although they're usually really good.) I put all the folders in "httpdocs" and the website worked perfectly!

  • I need a fix for adobe reader download error

The same error message has been popping up when I try to download the adobe pdf reader. Here is the image:
I have tried every single fix that I have found in the discussions and forums. None have worked for me. Can someone please tell me if there is something new? Thank you.

    I did a Google search for https://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&q=error+1935.+an+error+occurred+during+the+ins tallation+of+assembly+component+{B708EB72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D}.+hresult%3A+0x80070 422.&oq=error+1935.+an+error+occurred+during+the+installation+of+assembly+component+{B708E B72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D}.+hresult%3A+0x80070422.
This yields many results.  I did not look at them all, but the most promising one was that a potential Windows Update was still running in the background, e.g. updating .NET Framework or Visual C++ runtime.  Once the Windows Update was complete, the user could successfully install Adobe Reader.
Can you check with the Task Manager (Processes tab) if some updates are going on (e.g. presence of MSIEXEC or such).

If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

  • Need .avi fix for HP Media Smart?

My system is Windows 7 Home Premium. HP Media Smart was able to play .avi files in the past but will not now. How can I fix this? Windows media does not work either. I checked my files with Gspot and they check out OK, i.e., correct codex.

Well I know for sure that .avi files are support by both programs, here is a link or you to check out some things with Windows Media Player. Even includes a link to reinstall the program as well.  When you open the link scroll down to the resolution section.
Also when you get a chance head to HP site and under support drivers try to check and see if you have the most updated version of HP Mediasmart. Here is another link to quickly access that page.
