Need advice on Exporting a clip of images!

Hi there guys,
I got a bunch of high resolution Images (1920x1440 pixels) from which i need to make a high-quality 3-minute clip,
not bigger than 30 Mega in size. The frame of the clip doesn't have to be huge, 800x600 is good enough.
Well i'm trying to export the project as F4V, but i can't get a clean output in excellent quality...:-(
Can anyone help me out in some insight on the best options...maybe F4V isn't the right one? tried MOV but
files are huge!
I'd be grateful for any tips and advice...
Thanks!!
Shay

Your design looks reasonable to me. It's important to connect devices to different members of the stack like you did.
By looking at your diagram I'm not sure if you meant that each ASA has its own Portchannel or not. If you run active/standby scenario I believe you need one Portchannel per ASA.

  • Need help in exporting multipage pdf into images

I come from Flash/Flex background and new to InDesign Server.
My requirement is to convert a pdf file consisting of "n" pages into "n" jpeg images. Is it achievable using Indesign Server? What is the api I should use for achieving this?
I am able to convert only the first page of pdf into jpeg, and the snippet looks something like below:
    inFile = File("d:/myPdfFile.pdf");
    outFile = File("d:/myjpgFile.jpg");
    doc = app.documents.add();
    doc.pages.item(0).place(inFile);
    doc.exportFile(ExportFormat.JPG, outFile);
    doc.close();
I highly appriciate any help regarding this.

  • Need advice on online cataloging system for images

I use Lightroom and love it's library system but need something similar in an online image cataloging system where I can place all my company images privately and have them accessed by other members of the company as and when they need them. I've been toying with the likes of Flickr but find it a bit of a pain to use. Does anyone have any advice as a good online option to use? Really struggling with googling!
    Thanks

  • Need advice on exporting to .MOV from Flash

I'm creating an introductory video for readers of my webcomic. Because I  know Flash, I'm creating it there. Basically it's a voiceover with some  static comic images getting panned and zoomed around, with some sound  effects and such.
They key thing is that I want this to be easily shared. The best way for  that (I think - open to other opinions) is to get the final file  uploaded to YouTube and saved as a YouTube video, which I then embed on  my site. YT vids are extremely easy to share and email around. This  gives me the best option for getting the most eyeballs on it.
The problem I have had in the past is that exporting a Flash file to  .mov makes a MASSIVE file, size-wise. This video will be like 3 minutes  long, I'm a little worried that the file size might be too big to upload  to YT. Also, in general the exported .mov looks like garbage compared  to the SWF.
I know you can modify the Quicktime compression settings and such when  exporting, but I am not sure what the optimal settings are.
What are your thoughts? Looking for any good advice...

    Hi Pixelmech,
one option I use a lot is to export not to Quicktime but to PNG sequence. Then import that into After Effects (assuming you have AE) and add a filter (optional) and then export to MOV format. YouTube allows uploads of files up to 2GB (I am pretty sure). In fact YT has a spec sheet on what compression to use too:
    http://www.youtube.com/t/howto_makevideo
    Hope this helps.

  • I need advice on how to increase pixels (to 1000+) on images currently in the 6-700 range

    Hello,
I need some assistance. I am new to Adobe Photoshop.  I need to increase the pixels to around 1000 from the current 6-700 the images currently have.  The photoprinting company I use told me I could do it on Adobe.  Any help would be appreciated.  Rich Shay [email protected]

You may think you need a solution to change existing small images to make them larger, but keep in mind that what they may really be saying to you is that you need to prepare the images so that they end up with more than 600 to 700 pixels width to begin with, so that the images have enough detail that they'll look good and crisp in the prints.  To advise you further on doing this, you'll need to describe a bit about where you get your images initially and how you process them into these small versions.
If you really DO need to upsample existing small images to try to give the visual impression they have more detail in them, just doing Image - Image Size isn't really going to help - they'll still look fuzzy.  BUT...  There are a couple of pretty cool (and reasonably expensive) plug-ins that do some fancy shenanigans to make images seem to have more detail than they really do...  You might want to try out either the Perfect Resize 7 plug-in by OnOne Software, or the Blow Up 3 plug-in by Alien Skin software.

  • TV monitor display project, need advice.

So I will be starting a project soon for my job. It will require some content for a store lobby TV display screen. Basically I will be making some content, whether it be scrolling images, animations, or maybe a video clip playing automatically. I will have maybe all of these things to be played throughout the day in the lobby of my work for customers to be viewing. This is the first time I have taken on a project such as this and I'm not sure where to start. I need advice on what type of information I need in order to begin this such as what size to start my project as, format, etc. Thanks!

    Hi,
    You have two options:
    1. Create the Edge Animation on the Computer, and play the animation and use some screen capture software that will give you a video. This video you can play on your lobby TV  in loop.
    2. If the lobby TV is a smart tv (i.e. it has browser to navigate the webpage), then you can host the Edge animation content files on some server, and navigate to the server url, which will play the animation on the browser in the TV.

  • Exporting trimmed clips

Hi, how do I export a trimmed clip from a Premiere Elements project to another project or just to a folder on the hard drive? I have about 10 hours of raw footage (from a number of contributors) for a community video. I've captured it all on my 1.5 terrabyte external drive in one project. I would like to trim clips in that project before using them in the final edit, but I would like to create a separate project on another drive for the final edit. Hence the need to export trimmed clips. I think the huge volume of raw footage in the edit would be slow-loading and likely to freeze the computer. The raw footage is in .avi format. I have Premiere Elements 3, I'm using Windows XP-SP3, 3gb RAM 3.06gHz hyperthreading, Intel integrated graphics. Would be grateful for some advice.

Once you've trimmed your clip on your timeline, use Share/Computer to output the trimmed video.
For standard definition video, use Share/Computer/AVI with the appropriate DV preset.
    For high-definition video, use Share/Computer/MPEG with the 1440x1080 30i (25i PAL) preset.
If you'd like to know more about the basics of the program, check out my free 8 part Basic Training tutorial series on Premiere Elements support site Muvipix.com.

  • Colour Correction not exporting on clip

    Hello
I am trying to broadcast safe a project I am working on and have come pretty close to colour safe levels. However I seem to be a little over white exceptance. So I've added a levels effect to pull down the bright areas, then I re-export the clip complete with changes, bring it back into PP and the effect hasn't shown up in the export. I have applied the clip both to an adjustment layer and the clip itself.
    See image attached
The image on the left is slightly over 1volt colour safe. Then I add the levels effect (on the right) which corrects it, then export. Once I bring it back in the levels are still as they are on the left.
I'm exporting to Prores 422, MPEG2 and also exporting using sequence settings. No joy.
    Any ideas?

That looks close for something that is not that much over anyway when just applying Levels with No parameter changes.
If the original was a bit more over you would see noticeable clipping ( flat) by just applying Levels with No parameter changes.
Use Levels on an Adjustment Layer or directly on the clip (not both) but drop white (highlight)  down a tad more. eg 98%
DO a test by going too far.
How does the RGB Parade look.  You need to check Chroma Levels as well..

  • Exporting "Selected Clips" and iDVD Chapter Markers from iMovie

I've tried exporting "selected clips" from iMovie . The iDVD Chapter Markers do not appear as a menu option on the initial iDVD menu screen when "selected clips" is checked in the iMovie Share option. The chapter markers are limited to the clips I'm exporting. The "Share" dialog box seems to indicate that Chapter Markers should export but they don't. // I'm trying to break up a movie that's too long for a DVD (but I will later share to video from iMovie). I'd prefer not to make two iMovie projects out of this. Thanks!
    iMac FP 17   Mac OS X (10.4.6)
    iMac FP 17   Mac OS X (10.3.6)

    Hello, John,
    Welcome to the discussions.
You can either do your 'share to video from iMovie' before or after creating your iDVDs. But, you will need to create a second iMovie if yours is too long for one DVD and you are wanting to make 2 DVDs from the one long movie.
To make the second one before sharing the entire movie:
Select the clips you want in the second movie, then go to 'Edit' and 'Copy'.
Then, select 'New' iMovie. When it opens, give it a name like "Part2" and then 'Paste' your selected clips. Save the movie, then go back to the first one. Delete the clips you just copied.
Close iMovie. Open your DVD project. Find the 'Media' tab, go to 'Movies' and drag and drop your first movie into iDVD. Finish the iDVD project. Save and close.
Then, create the second iDVD project for your second movie in the same way.
Do 'save as disk image' for each iDVD project. That way your project is intact for each one, and you will not lose anything when you change the iMovies. You can burn your DVDs from the disk images.
Now, go back to your second iMovie. Select the clips and copy. Close that movie and open the first one. Paste the second set of clips. Now you have your original movie back and can do your share to video from it. Delete the second movie.

  • Need advice on on a Mac Pro 1,1 Media Center

I currently have a 2009 Mac Mini running as my home media center, but I recently came by a FREE Mac Pro 1,1 and have decided to repurpose it as my media center so I can migrate my Mac Mini to my bedroom TV where it will live an easy life doing nothing but run Plex Home Theater, Netflix, and EyeTV. This machine falling into my lap was also quite timely because my 4-bay Drobo is running low on available expansion and another Drobo isn't in the budget at the moment.
This vintage mac pro is running Lion 10.7.5, has 1 old and crusty 500GB hardrive, dual x5160 processors, 4GB RAM (one stick i'm pretty sure is toast judging by the red light and the kernel panics), and the standard NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256MB graphics card. It will be used primarily for the following: network storage for iphoto and itunes libraries, streaming video, Plex Media Server & Plex Home Theater, and Handbrake encoding. I also have a goal of safety of data for my movies, photos and music as this machine will supplement my current Drobo storage.
My plans are for a 128GB SSD boot drive installed in one of the PCIe slots and then to load up all 4 of the 3.5" drive bays with WD Green hard drives. I have also ordered 4GB of replacement RAM, so upon removal of the faulty unit I will have 7GB.
Here is where I need advice because I am not very familiar with RAID and the differences between hardware or software raid. Am I better off getting four drives of the same size and setting them up as RAID 5 (I think) using Apple's RAID utility or should I throw in three 1TB drives and then install a fourth 3TB or 4TB drive as a Time Machine backup for the other three?
Should I upgrade the OSX to the technically unsupported latest version? Or is it not worth the trouble for this application?
Also, is there any benefit to upgrading the graphics card to the ATI Radeon 5770? Would this yield an improved image quality? I am outputting to a Denon AV Reciever and subsequently to a 100" projection screen, if that makes a difference. I also noticed the 5770 has an HDMI port, wich would be nice, but not necessary since I can use a DVI converter and woud still need to use the optical audio out anyway.
    Much obliged for any input

PCIe cards that use or support SSD are not bootable until you get to 2008 (and that is limited too).
Green are not suited for any form of array unless say NAS and WD RED.  Better option would be 3 x 2TB WD Blacks in a mirror, and too many people only use two drives, well 3 is much easier safer and works better. Might want to invest in www.SoftRAID.com product even.
Best price and quality, got my 1,1 with 8 x 2GB (ideal is 4 or 8 DIMMs)
    2x2GB FBDIMM DDR2 667MHz @ $25
    http://www.amazon.com/BUFFERED-PC2-5300-FB-DIMM-APPLE-Memory/dp/B002ORUUAC/
With price of 250GB SSD $155 I'd go with that or stick with $89 for 128GB .

  • How can i export a series of images in different aspect ratios to the same height

How can i export a series of images in different aspect ratios to the same height?
I wish to make a slider callery for my website. all the images need to be 750 Pixels high, the width does not matter.  I have a mixture of square pandscap and protraite images can i do thing as one export or do i have to do it twice?  Once for long edge and once for shot edge?
    Thanks

Yes, you can but there is a trick to it.
In the Export Dialog under <Image Sizing> select Widdth & Height.
Then enter 750 pixels for Height.
Put your cursor into the Width field behind all the numbers that appear there and with the backspace key delete the numbers. If you enter "0" it will not accept that. But it accepts when you just delete the field for Width with the backspace key. The Width field will now be just blank.
When you then export all image will  have a height of 750 pixels and the width will fall variously according to thne height / width ratio.
Or alternatively you can enter 7.5" for height at a resolution of 100 ppi.

  • Export settings to print images

Normally I export my images and then upload them to the web and thats it but today I needed to actually make some prints and I exported a 7 inch by 7 inch images and  saved them onto a card then when to the local camera shop to print and what I found out was shocking. Apparently my images which I shoot RAW and export as JPEG were only the size of a thumbnail! When we looked at the properties of the images they were the size of a KB and the guy at the shop said they were too small to print. He said I might be able to get a 4x6 but not anything larger than that. He said they should be Megabytes!
So I just did exported out a test image and this time I set it to the original size and when I checked the properties of that one it was in fact large enough to be to be printed large and was in the megabytes.
So I would like to create a preset for when I want to print out images again. Some of the other settings I am not sure about and would like some assistance. As for DPI what should that be set at? Currently I have it set to 100 dpi. Should it be higher than that? I have seen some set to 72 dpi, would that signify low resolution? What about Gamma Adjust and Color Profile?
Again this is all new to me since I hardly ever print my images. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also I am planning on making some photo books for gifts and taking the images right out of my Aperture library. Is there anything special I need to do with setting that up? I have made calendars via iPhoto in years past and they turned out nice but with everything I found out today about printing my images I just want to make sure I am on point with everything before I send my images off to make the books.
    Thanks a bunch!!!

I understand the math better now, but am still stuck on how to set the size using File>Export.
When exporting as a JPEG file, for example, I have the following options:
If I enter 5000 ppi in the Resolution field (or even 2400), I get an error that Illustrator can't export at that high a resolution. I tried opening the Illustrator files directly in Photoshop, but the images are distorted and unusable as they appear there.
I don't see any options to set the image size to 2000x2000 pixels upon export. Sorry if I am being obtuse--I feel I must be missing something very basic here!

  • Exporting clickdummy as "html + images" creates too many gifs

Hi, I created a prototype in Fireworks, exported as "HTML and Images". There are multiple pages and a few slices. My problem now is the images folder. It's huge. There are thousands of gifs. Is this normal? I wanted to provide this prototype via an online link, but you mostly see the images loading from top to bottom when opening any page. It's annoying. Working offline from desktop is fine of course.
Do I have to reduce the number of sclices so that there are fewer gifs in the image folder? I would have to cick off some hover states... or is there any other way to reduce the number of images the page is build of?
Thanks for any help and advice!
    Mari

OK, thanks, that already helped me. But unfortunately I didn't manage to create these html-text slices. There are just green solid boxes where I can enter html text but I dont know how to transfer my different text areas in combination with images to html + image slices. Do I have to slice up the whole page?
After trying and studying the article you mentioned above I exported as Css and Images and now my page consists of html text and some images, looks nice and is edidable in Dreamweaver. But with this method I loose all the hover functionality. In which direction should I work on?
A export as Css and Images and try to insert the hover and swap-image functionality manually in Dreamweaver or
B export as Html and Images and try to learn how to add html text slices?
    Thanks again!

  • Can't export some clips, can others, Compressor failing me

I've been exporting a large series of clips from FCP HD using compressor. I didn't have a problem with the first 15 or so clips. Now, I can't get my remaining sequences to export. Each time I try I get a notification in compressor that the export failed citing Quicktime Error 27.
I switched to exporting using Quicktime and everything stops exporting at 4GB. Also, if I try to move a file between an external hard drive and the desktop or in any other way where it is switching drives, it fails when it reaches the 4GB mark.
I don't know what happened in the middle of all this exporting but I have around 8 more sequences that need to be exported at a very high quality. They need to be .mov files in the end and most are in the neighborhood of 6GB.
I haven't found anything on the FCP, Compressor, or Quicktime boards that comes close to explaining my problem. Please let me know what I might be able to do to get these clips out of FCP HD and get Compressor working.
    Thanks,
    Scott

b here are 3 external drives in use. The original footage is one one, I was exporting to a second, filled that one and started exporting to a third.
Make sure that all the LaCie FW drives have been formatted MAC OS EXTENDED you can check that using "GET INFO" command on each drive.
If you want to delete your preferences download an app called FCP RESCUE, works great.
    http://fcprescue.andersholck.com/
Make sure to get the proper version for your version of FCP.
If you want to export with the best quality you can for want you have in the timeline, just use Export Quick Time Movie and and select USE CURRENT SETTINGS and Make Movie Self Contained.
