you want in more detail.....ok
(1)u've created a screen -
> added push buttons etc. -
> given name to screen elements i.e pushbuttons etc.and also declared them in program
(2) create its GUI status ,say STATUS_100---->here you have to assign Function codes ->like if in standard toolbar you want BACK,EXIT,CANC or whatever you want,for ex. for BACK u'll find its icon -> double click on it>give the Func code say F3,now u also wnt to enable Func Key F3 for this--> go to UTILITIES (menu bar)-> F Key consistency-> here u will find all the Func keys-> so to F3 give the same func code as u gave to BACK icon button.
similar approach u can use for pussbuttons:
double click on push button> in screen painter attributes-> give the Func code to it ,say for CREATE button u give Func code NEW->come back to GUI status->similarly go to UTILITIES (menu bar)-> F Key consistency-> here u will find all the Func keys---> so to F7 give the same func code (NEW) as u gave to CREATE push button.
(3) In PBO of this screen create a module to set its PF status:
In screen flow logic:
PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
* To set pf-status and title
MODULE status_0100.
In Program:
MODULE status_0100 OUTPUT.
SET PF-STATUS 'STATUS_100'.
SET TITLEBAR 'TITLE_100'.
ENDMODULE.

BlackBerry Ltd. is seeking to win back once-devoted customers by bringing back a popular set of command keys that the company had abandoned with the launch of a new family of smartphones this past year.
Sources familiar with the company say chief executive officer John Chen will announce Tuesday at a mobile industry conference in Barcelona that the Waterloo, Ont.-based company will restore its trademark “belt” of five function keys that sat between the screen and keyboard.
This includes a trackpad and other keys that allowed users to easily navigate between different applications. The belt will appear later this year on phones powered by the BlackBerry 10 operating system.
A company spokesman declined to confirm the announcement. In a recent interview, to be published later this week in Report on Business Magazine, Mr. Chen said that future BlackBerry 10 smartphones “will have some of the features our power-users love” but were not included on the first phones launched a year ago on the platform, the all-touchscreen Z10 and the Q10, which features both a keyboard and touchscreen.

Not prompted for encrytion key for /dev/mapper/home

I never had a problem setting up encryption on my last laptop, but for some reason on this new laptop I am having the hardest time with this...
I tried installing about four times because I thought I missed something. I have 3 partitions /boot , / and /home, during boot / prompts me for a key and works fine, but it doesnt bother asking me for a key for /home
In my /etc/crypttab i have
home /dev/mapper/home ASK
in my /etc/fstab i have
/dev/mapper/home /home ext4 defaults 0 1
during the install I did everything I thought necessary from the various archlinux wiki pages on encryption.
am I missing something?(obviously I am)

Here try this:
If you using WZC or the built-in wireless utlity of windows.
Go to network connections > right click the wireless network connections >
Go to the wireless network tab > delete all the prefered networks >
Try to reconnect to the wireless network again
If your using Linksys wireless utility or WLAN
Open the software > Go to the profile tab and delete all that you dont need
Try to reconnect to the network again
The profile or the prefered networks are lists of all the networks you have ever connectec to. I believe you did not change the SSID of your network when you secured thus your computer detects it still as an unsecured network

Need To Find Product Key For Windows 8

It's my son's laptop and I bought it brand new in January 2013. It crashed two months later. I tried to get help through HP but to no avail. They told me to update the BIOS, which I did, and it worked for maybe a week and crashed again. I had a friend wipe it and start over twice after that because it just kept crashing. I then called HP, since it was still under warranty, to have them send me a new one since this one was obviously defective and the lady with whom I spoke said she would have someone call me back to help me. This never happened. I just gave up on it and bought another laptop in March 2013...the same exact brand, model, specs, etc. and have had absolutely NO problems with it since. I've since decided that it merely needs a new hard drive, which I am more than happy to purchase and install. It is the only thing my son has asked for as a Christmas present this year. The problem I have is that I don't have the product key for the OS. It came installed with Windows 8 and I have read through several other messages and understand that it is not something you can buy, however, I do believe, and feel that I am entititled, to have the product key so that I can properly fix my son's laptop. After all, it was a defective laptop/hard drive with which to begin and since HP support was actually of no support whatsoever HP should be willing to help with this situation. I have only ever used HP for desktops and laptops and have since 2001 and this is the first product I have purchased that was probelmatic.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Microsoft did away with OEM product key stickers starting on all PC's that come with W8.
The OEM product key is now encoded into the BIOS in order to prevent it being used on other PC's.
So, your notebook does have a product key.
You just can't read it and if you order recovery media for the specific model notebook, or use a Windows 8 OEM installation disk you won't need the key.
It will automatically enter itself during the installation.

What are all the Function Keys for on my new KU-0841?

I just got an HP KU-0841 Keyboard and want to know what the Function Keys are for F1-F12.

Depending on application, or game. For example on one application which I use daily
F1 = Help (nearly all applications use this),
F2 = Slpit screen
F3 = End
F4 = Expand
F5 = Find / Re Find
F6 = Change
F7 = Up
F8 = Down
F9 = Swap
F10 = Left (one screen)
F11 = Right (one screen)
F12 = Cancel
Again, DEPENDING ON applicantion, you have to learn from application. Some applications allow you to re-program those keys.

Short cut - Function Keys for my Application

Hi Friends,
I am trying to use function keys alone (like only F5 or F6 etc) as shortcut for actions in my app....how to do it ???
I can abe to place shortcut keys like CTRL + R or ALT + R etc...that is control keys + any key is possible...but how to do only function keys.....
I tried using setMnemonic....setAccelerator....but i am not able to use function keys alone.....kindly help me out....

The mnemonic has to be an actual character, but function keys are perfectly valid for use as accelerators: KeyStroke ks = KeyStroke.getKeyStroke("F6");

How do I enable Function Keys for Capt 5 simulations?

I have a simualtion where the learner is instructed to press certain function keys (F11, F4) to "activate" a window within out system (this new window is part of the next slide).
During preview, the function keys are enabled,but when launching the siulation via the WEB or LMS, those keys are not fucitonal and i get the following response by activating the webaddress field instead of moving to the next step.
is there anything in the settings/properties that i need to modify to get the expected result?

My understanding of the problem with function-key keystrokes is the browser window thinks you're talking to it before it lets the keystroke pass through to the SWF. This is further complicated by which browser you're using, or if you publish as EXE. Not sure about publishing in AIR.

Disable the need of the function key when using the control key

I'm often using the F1-12 keys when using an IDE for developing. Those IDE's use the CTR+F1-12 shortcuts quite a bit and it's always needed to use FN+CTR+F1-12 which is ridiculous and redundant. Is there a way to keep using the functions assigned to F1-12 (Adjust volume, brightness...) without pressing the function key and be able of using CTR or ALT +F1-12 without the need of pressing the function key?

According to the system help text it is possible. And for me it works as described in the help text on my MacBook Pro.
But on my Mac Pro (late 2013) the relevant control (“Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys”) is missing form System Preferences >> Keyboard >> Keyboard.
From the help text for the topic "Use keyboard function keys:"
If you frequently use the alternate function of a function key, you can switch the keyboard so that the function keys perform the alternate function without your pressing Fn. You then hold down Fn to use a function key’s original hardware control function. If your keyboard doesn’t have an Fn key, try holding down the Control key.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Keyboard.
Open Keyboard preferences
Select the “Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys” checkbox.

Requirement for object key for HashMap

How do I supposed to do the hashCode? If myKey1.equals(myKey2) returns true, then myKey1.hashCode() must return the same value as myKey2.hashCode(). One consequence of this is that if something is not used to compuate equals(), then it must not be used to compute hashCode(). (Note that the reverse is not true. That is, if two objects are not equal, they can still return the same value from hashCode(), and hence, if some data is used for equals() it may still be left out of hashCode().)
You want hashCode to be 1) quick & easy to compute and 2) "well distributed" or "mostly unique. If you know how hashcodes are used (in the general sense, not just the Java hashCode() method) then you should understand why those properties are desirable. If not, just ask.
The most common approach is to use some subset of the object's fields in computing the hashCode. If you have a Person object with lastName, firstName, birthdate, height, weight, address, phone number, you probably wouldn't use all those fields. You could just lastName, or maybe a combination of lastName and firstName.
One generally combines multiple pieces by taking XORing (the "^") operator the individual pieces (for primitives) or their hashcodes (for objects). For example, in the Person example: public int hashCode() {

Special Functions keys not working on Satellite C50 - Windows 8.1

Please could someone help me out.
I have a Toshiba Satellite C50-A0393 that I got a few months ago with Windows 8.1 already installed (64 bit). Today I got a message saying I needed to look at the PC Health, a Toshiba blue message concerning the access agreement, and I noticed that there were three upgrades that needed to be done, the only one I can remember being the Toshiba Video Player. I think that another one had to do with the charger light?
I don't know.
But once I restarted my laptop after the updates I noticed that the special function keys were not working (i.e. the volume, mute, pause and play, etc.). i then went onto the Toshiba Desktop Assist and into system settings and selected the keyboard tab. I then made sure the setting for special function mode was selected.
Now, when that setting is in place, certain keys work but for F3, F5, F6, etc and when I want to use the special functions only the volume up and down work when pressing 'Fn', but special function mode is still selected? Only those two work, not the mute or flightmode or bluetooth, which was working normally before the upgrades.
I have googled but cannot find anything specific to 8.1, or not relating to upgrading to 8.1. I cannot find the flashcard utility and do not want to try something where I do not know what I am doing. How can I get these special function keys working again normally? Sorry for the long message but I wanted to give as much info as possible.

It sounds strange to me that a Toshiba update (Toshiba Video Player, etc) would affect the function key functionality.
Nevertheless the function key (F1-F10) can be used in combination with or without the FN button. This depends on the special function key mode.
In case you want to use the F1-F12 functions without the pressing FN button, the function key mode should be enabled (should be set to special function mode)

Now it these buttons would not work even if the FN button has been pressed, then there is some problem with the software.
First of all I would recommend you to set the BIOS to default because this function key mode can be changed in BIOS too.
After that, check if the key would work. If not, reinstall the
Toshiba Function Key Utility
And Toshiba System Driver
You can also check if the essential service has not been disabled.
Start the Task Manager and go to start up items. There you should enable all Toshiba apps and services and then restart.
