Need Enterprise Manager for 8.1.7

Would like to start using Enterprise Manager for 8.1.7, but cannot find it.
Does anyone have a link to it?
Thanks,
Scott

There are separate client and server components. You can use the client standalone without connecting to a management server, but then many options are unavailable to you. I think there is Enterprise Manager documentation in the main Oracle doc set that describes pretty well how to set it up.
McSwain is my married name. Is your mom from North Carolina by any chance? There are lots of McSwains there.

  • How to configure Oracle Enterprise Manager for ASM RAC Database ?

    Dears,,
We have two databases (Primary & Standby), each database has two instances
Database version: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit
How to configure Oracle Enterprise Manager for this environment ?
I need documentation for this please.
    Many thanks & Regards,,

Assuming an agent is running on the servers you want to monitor,
navigate to the Agent home page (Via setup --> Agent)
When in the agent home page select 'Add Database'and press [Go]
Assuming yopur database now gets recognized, select the Configure icon and enter the password for dbsnmp.
When done, press [Ok] to return to the agent home page.

  • Can't find Enterprise Manager for standalone OC4J 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi
I downloaded standalone OC4J 10.1.2.0.2 from here so I could experiment deploying webservices to it
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/oc4j/1012/oc4j_extended.zip
It installed successfully and I managed to start it ok. When I point my browser at it the home page displays but there does not seem to be an enterprise manager page. I have a jdeveloper 10.1.3 install and when I run the OC4J supplied with that I can navigate to an enterprise manager page and view applications and webservices.
This is the home page for the 10.1.2.0.2 install
    http://img405.imageshack.us/my.php?image=oc4j101202homepagecq8.jpg
This is the homepage of the 10.1.3 install supplied with jdeveloper
    http://img399.imageshack.us/my.php?image=oc4j1013homepagegb6.jpg
(click the images to see their full size)
In the 10.1.3 screenshot you can see a link to "launch application Server Control". This is missing on the 10.1.2.0.2 homepage. Should it be there for both versions?

  • Enterprise Manager for Oracle 8.1.5 Win NT 4.0

Anyone know where can I download the Enterprise Manager for Oracle 8.1.5 running Windows NT 4.0?
The one in the Oralce download is for 8.1.6?
    Thanks

Depends on how big is your database.
For small database, doing a export and import is quick and dirty.
For larger database, I would suggest migrate the database. But this means a lot of work and test. This is what I would do if I am doing amigration:
    1. Do a cold backup of your 815 database
    2. On your new test box, try to install 815 and start your old database
    3. Upgrade your database to 8174
    4. Install 10gr2 on your new test box
    5. Migrate your 8174 database to 10gr2.
    6 Test a lot
    7. Repeat steps 1-6 2-3 times
    8. Document tthe process and your test results completely.
    9. Repeat what you document on your production box.

  • Enterprise Manager For WebLogic Server 10.3

    Hi,
    I have a weblogic server version 10.3.
I want to access the Enterprise Manager for the same.I believe standalone version of weblogic server 10.3 doesnt come with
    Enterprise Manager.
I believe we can have EM if we download Application Development Runtime.
I tried doing the same ,but I am unable to launch the Enterprise Manager Website.
My server is running on on port 7001 ,hence I tried accessing the Enterprise Manager
using the below url i.e http://localhost:7001/em,but i was not able to access.
Could somebody help me on how I can access the enterprise Manager.
    Regards
    Harish

Actually, with FMW 11g (WLS version 10.3.1 NOT 10.3), there is now an application called Fusion Middleware Control that is part of the Enterprise Manager family. This typically binds to http://host:port/em on the AdminServer. This is for the FMW components in a single domain, plus any other web tier components like Oracle HTTP Server or Web Cache.

Check the docs for installation instructions of this component.

  • Cannot start Enterprise Manager for Fusion Middleware 11g

    Dear all,
Because I want to install Oracle EGRCM v8.0.1 in Linux x86_64, so I installed Oracle Weblogic 11gR1 and SOA Suite 11g first.
After installation successfully, I created a base_domain as default, and can start weblogic administration server ( http://localhost:7001/console ) successfully.
Now I want to use Enterprise Manager for Fusion Middleware 11g. Per "*Oracle® Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide 11g Release 1 (11.1.1)*", the EM should be available now and the access URL should be http://localhost:7001/em . But when I try to access it, the following error returned:
    Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    +10.4.5 404 Not Found+
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
So I try to start with emctl in *$MW_HOME/oracle_common/bin/*, the error is as following:
    +./emctl: line 387 /d02/Middleware/oracle_common/perl/bin/perl: No such file or directory+.
I check the path and find out that no directory named "perl" under */d02/Middleware/oracle_common*. So I try to copy the necessary dir from the dir installed Oracle Database 11g ( *$ORACLE_HOME* ), but it returns following error:
OC4J Configuration issue. /d02/Middleware/oracle_common/sysman/j2ee not found.
I try to copy necessary dir from *$ORACLE_HOME* but still cannot start EM.
Please give some advise about how I can start EM for Fusion Middleware 11g, any idea is appreciate!
    Best Regards,

    Hi Kenny
See this post of mine: Re: Fusion Middleware Console
For any SOA Domain, unless you have Enterprise Manager Facet enabled (during domain creation process or adding later on by extending it), you will not be able to access the EM Console. For quick testing, open config.xml file for your domain and check the modules specially em module as shown below. It should be there. This is for one of my SOA Cluster Domains with SOA on top of WLS 10.3.2

    Ravi JeggaHello Ravi:
I too like Kenny experienced the EXACT same thing this morning. I was trying to figure out how to modify the formsweb.cfg and I remembered from when I install Oracle9i/10g AS a few years back, that it was on the Enterprise Manager Console for forms (different than the EM for the database). Well that's different than the consoles for Weblogic Server and Weblogic Server for Forms. I ran into the same errors Kenny did, and I followed your steps except that I did install into the domain the Enterprise Manager so when I looked at the config.xml I do see the same code that you posted above. Yet I still get the error when accessing
    http://computer:7001/em
Also when trying to run emctl (I copied the perl directory from the database) and same error as Kenny. Any tips/clues?
I'm running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, Oracle 11g (database, Fusion Middleware).
    Thanks,
    Gio

  • Enterprise Manager for Oracle 7.3.3

How i can have enterprise manager for database server oracle 7.3.3 ? Because i've try with OEM 9.2.0 it wasnt working.. should i use OEM release 2.0.X on it? and where i can get the OEM 2.0.X ?

I am wondering whether Oracle 11g comes with
Enterprise ManagerYes it does. But Enterprise Manager is a common denominator for several products.
In 11g, "Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control software is installed by default".

or not as previous versions 9i and
10g are having Enterprise Manager in its installation pack.If you are thinking of the java-based OEM Console, then by 11g it is definitely gone.

  • In-place upgrade of Enterprise Manager for RAC databases is not supported

upgrading 2 node RAC from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3 on Windows 2003 64 bit. I got the following:
In-place upgrade of Enterprise Manager for RAC databases is not supported in this release
Now I cannot log in to the database control as sys with sysdba role . I get "invalid username/password" error
I can login as a dba user
I also get a java error after I log in, some thing about class not found, but then I'm in and I can do everything that I try, although I haven't tried scheduling a backup yet
Can I upgrade EM to 10.2.0.3?
    If so, how?

    On the patchset readme...
11.3 Upgrade of Oracle Enterprise Manager Not Supported
When you start Oracle Database Upgrade Assistant to upgrade 10.2.0.1 database to 10.2.0.3 patch set, the following error occurs:
Inplace upgrade of Enterprise Manager is not supported for RAC databases is not supported in this release
    Workaround:
    Ignore warning.
If you drop and recreate the EM repository?
1). emca -deconfig dbcontrol db repos drop
2). emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create
Be careful, doing this put the database on QUIESCE mode.

  • Accessing Enterprise Manager for multiple db's on same machine

I've installed Oracle 11g Enterprise Edition (basic installation with starter database) on my laptop. I've created two databases and the link to
access Database Control (Enterprise Manager) for each is as follows
    [https://192.168.2.3:5500/em]
I cannot access either of them. I've tried [https://localhostname:####/em,] still no access.
The system variable(s) ORACLE_HOME is not currently defined. I've tried to define it as follows, ORACLE_HOME=C:\app\product\11.1.0\db_1.
In Windows XP services OracleDBConsoleMyDB1 and OracleDBConsoleMyDB2 each service is
set to Automatic . . . but neither shows current status.
The databases are up and running, I can connect and query from each.
How can I get the web interface to Enterprise Manager to work?
    Thanks.

    Ok, I found the two directories;
    C:\app\product\11.1.0\db_1\oc4j\j2ee\OC4J_DBConsole_192.168.2.2_alpdev
    C:\app\product\11.1.0\db_1\oc4j\j2ee\OC4J_DBConsole_192.168.2.3_cnpdev

    C:\app\product\11.1.0\db_1\192.168.2.3_cnpdev
My machine name is xxxxxx1700, so I had to make the following changes to get
    any meaningful output.
    Renamed directories (folders) under C:\app\product\11.1.0\db_1
to xxxxxx1700_alpdev and xxxxx1700_cnpdev, OC4J_DBConsole_xxxxx1700_alpdev did not work,
    neither did OC4J_DBConsole_xxxxx1700_alpdev.
Under C:\app\product\11.1.0\db_1\oc4j\j2ee, created two new directories OC4J_DBConsole_xxxxx1700_alpdev
and OC4J_DBConsole_xxxxxx1700_cnpdev and copied contents into these two folders from
    OC4J_DBConsole_192.168.2.2_alpdev and OC4J_DBConsole_192.168.2.3_cnpdev.
    I then SET ORACLE_SID's;
    C:\> set ORACLE_SID=alpdev
    C:\>emctl start dbconsole

  • Multiple OC4J instances missing in the Enterprise Manager for a cluster

We have a cluster of 4 OAS instances installed on two Solaris 10 servers. When I login to the Oracle Enterprise Manager, I see only the Administration OC4J Instance. We had this issue earlier but it resolved by itself but this time the issue has been there for quite few days now. Need some help.
    Thanks.

As I told you, this is a normal behavior, so there is no workarround, because it has to work fine later, but if you dont see any change tell me...
How did you configure your Cluster?
in a command line window, run the following in any of the node of your cluster
    opmnctl @cluster status
it have to list all your components, this has to work on any of the nodes.
Also in the opmn.xml check the tags for <topology> in the firsts lines, if you dont have this in the secondary nodes then the cluster may not be working.

  • Installation of Enterprise Manager for oracle 10g

    Hello.
have a database created on oracle 10.2.0.1.0, but I don't have installed the enterprise manager.
I need to install the enterprise manager to manage the database.
Anyone knows any procedure or any link to see some examples of installation.
    Thank you for your help

    A couple of quick points:
    1. 10.2.0.1 is many years old an in desupport mode. Currently supported versions are 11.1.0.6 and above.
    2. Enterprise Manager is not required to do anything and many of us prefer to not use it.
That said ... did you read the installation docs? Which ones? Please provide the link and explain what in the doc is not clear.

  • Enterprise manager for 11g

I have installed Oracle Enterprise Database 11g on a Windows 2003 Server. I have been going through some documentation and it sometimes refers to tabs and features that I cannot find in EM. I have since found out that the default install does not come with the 'Full' EM. The only one i seem to be able to find, download and install is for 10g.
Also, I want to install this on a Client Machine, not the DB Server.
Is there a full EM for 11g somewhere that I am not finding? All my searches point me back to the 10g EM download Page
    Thanks

Oracle used to have a client-server Java Enterprise Manager console. Ths was popular and extremely functional in Oracle9i.
With Oracle 10g, Oracle replaced the client-server console with a 3-tier 'browser based' console. That client-server tool was deprecated but still available on the Client CD. As of 11g that OEM Application was totally removed.
However, looking at the statement you quote (from page 91):
"The Oracle Enterprise Manager Central Console is a Web-based interface for managing the entire enterprise from the console. It offers a lot more functionality than the standard Oracle Enterprise Manager that comes with a typical database install."There are a few keywords here: "Central Console" and "managing the entire enterprise" lead me to believe the author is talking about the Grid Control. Similar to the DB Console that comes with the default install of the database, the Grid Control console has the following characteristics:
    - it is centralized (uses a separate computer to host the enterprise-wide OEM repository)
    - it allows monitoring and administration* of all Oracle products and many non-Oracle products
    - it it web-based and indeed, when looking at a database admin page, itr looks a lot like the DB console
    - it can consolidate the monitoring summary info about several products into a single page
    - it has reports and schedule capability not found in the native DB console
    - it places much less load on the db machine than the DB Console
    * in some cases Grid Control simply invokes the admin tool from the product rather than duplicating the product admin capability.

  • Extending Oracle Enterprise Manager for InterConnect 10.1.2.0.0

    Hi,
I've configured OPMN to monitor InterConnect Repository Service and Adapters as CUSTOM processes. Next, I wish to feed OEM with metrics of the InterConnect components. Are there any pre-configured XMLs and best-practice-documents available for this task? Has anyone implemented such integration between OEM and InterConnect 10.1.2?
Any input on the matter is highly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Jøran Lager Hansen

There is an Extensibility Guide that explains how you can add monitoring support for a new target type. This would allow you to retrieve metrics about the new target type and upload it into Enterprise Manager. Such an integration will also give you:
-- default home page for the new target type
-- ability to set thresholds on the metrics you gather
-- ability to setup different collection intervals for the metrics you gather
-- ability to create Reports based on the metrics you gather
More information can be found at:
