Exits are basically the hooks whcih SAP has provided to add your own code. There are two types of Exits:
1. Customer exits: Implemented as Function Modules within z includes. Anybody can change it and no access key is required.
2. User Exit: Implemented as subroutines within includes (any include except y or z includes). You need access for the specific include and then you can any subroutine (user exit) within that Include.
BADIs are the enhanced version of user exits where the same logic is implemented via classes and object (OOP)
Enchancement point is the latest once introduces with ECC6.0 . Not very sure about that but you can change it without any access key.

Need exits or badis for populating fax number while creating PO using ME59

Hi ,
I need to populate fax number for the OA type vendor in partners tab during PO creation using ME59.
these fax numbers are maintained in custom table .
i was not able to find any exits or badis .
Please suggest me if there are any exits and badi to populate fax number in purchase order screen
and also where the fax number is stored after saving PO.

what is the requirement ?
Fax number to be entered only for that particular PO ? or should it be effective for that Vendor's address ?
In SAP when one enters Vendor number, the address is fetched. When one changes or appends any details in address, new adrnr is created & saved in document header. EKKO-ADRNR
if it is BDC it will be taken care automatically, but when u r doing it through BAPI then it's bit complecated. you may have to first see the current address is default vendor address or user has already changed it. it it is default vendor addrnr then you need to create new Address with Fax number & assign in to that PO. if it is modified address for that PO then get ekko-adrnr & modify that address.

We are transferring internet sales orders from CRM to R/3. Now, what I need to do is
to trigger the 'carry out new pricing' for all the line items. Just like when we click
the update button in the conditions tab and click on the 'carry new pricing' option even though
user only displays the sales order in R/3.

Need User exits for MB21

Hi Folks,
I have designed custom screen for MB21 transaction which calls the standard screen.
I want to pass some data from the custom screen to the standard screen but for that i need a user exit to do the same
I tried get/set parameters but they work only for next screen, but i am skipping first screen so it is not working.
I need exits for passing value for these fields - Order Number, WBS Element, Cost Center and Goods Recepient(WEMPF).

The Main program can create an occurrence which can be passed to the
sub-VIs. Upon pressing the button to cancel the loop, the occurrence can be
set, instantly transmitted to all other VIs sharing which were passed the
same occurrence. Of course a small handling routine has to be written (say
a sequence parallel to the executing while loop waiting for the occurrence
and then setting the exit parameter to "true") but this is trivial.
I have checked this with a small program splitting an occurrence to three
seperate VIs and it works.
If you want, I can send a cop

It may well be possible with notifiers or something else, but I have far
less experience with them.

Using LV 6.1 and 8.2.1 on W2k (SP4) and WXP (SP2)

The notifier is probably better than occurence at this case - than it is not neccessry to write a parallel sequence.
The use of notifier is very simple, just follow an example in Help/Search example -> Advances -> Execution control -- Synchronization -> SubVI notification.

I need exit function from a while loop, not stop function of entire program.

User Exit or BADI for Material,BOM,Customer,Vendor

Dear All,
I have requirement where if User A changes a Material X .It should go for approval by workflow.
When the Material X is waiting for approval no other User should be able to change the material .It should give him a message
and restrict him from changing the Material.
Is there any User Exit or BADI to restrict him from changing the material. The exit or BADI should be called as soon as the Material is entered in MM02.
I need exit or BADI for BOM, Vendor and Customer also.

You can go to Transaction SE80 and check in Function Group MATF. There have been two User Exits which are called during MM02 Transaction execution (via Analysis Transaction SE30) - MATERIAL_FIELD_SELECTION_NEW and MATERIAL_FIELD_SELECTION_COMB.
BAdI called by FM MATERIAL_FIELD_SELECTION_NEW.

User exit/BADI for PO item blocking

Hi All,
Is there any userexit/BADI available for blocking PO item?
We want block PO item based on some header and item data validations. We need an exit which will be triggered before displaying the first screen(In case of PO change-ME22N). While creating/changing existing the item we got the BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST. Here we can set im_item-loekz to value S so that item will be blocked. This is working fine only for creation/Change of item. Because this BADI will be triggered when ever we make some change in existing PO item/Creating new item.
But say we have blocked a PO item now. later we have maintained necessary data which is used in validations. Then when we enter into same PO for next time it should automatically unblock that item.
So we need exit which will be triggered before displaying first screen. If one exit is not available the we can use EXPORT/IMPORT logic to get all the data at one place. Hope there is no confusion in the requirement.
Please let me know if there is any EXIT/BADI available for this scenario.
