Need help in linking a pdf file to my website, it stopped working

I want to upload a pdf file to my web site form my documents and it stop working, its been working fine until Sunday July 28. The support team from my web site said its a firefox issue,because if I use internet explorer it works fine Please help me Thanks Liz

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the upload page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first).
While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page and uploading again. Does that help?

                    while((i = fileInputStream.read(abyte0)) != -1)
                        servletOutputStream.write(abyte0, 0, i);
        public void doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)
            throws ServletException, IOException
            ServletOutputStream servletOutputStream;
            String filename;
            String output;
            FileInputStream fileInputStream;
            servletOutputStream = res.getOutputStream();
            res.setContentType("application/pdf");
            ServletContext servletcontext = getServletContext();
            filename = req.getParameter("file");
            String folder_code = req.getParameter("fold");
            try{
                filename = servletcontext.getRealPath(rb.getString("file_location")) + "/" + fold + "/" + file;
            fileInputStream = null;
            fileInputStream = new FileInputStream(file);
            streamCopy(fileInputStream, servletOutputStream);
            catch(FileNotFoundException e)
            filename = servletcontext.getRealPath(rb.getString("file_location")) + "/filenotfound.pdf";
            fileInputStream = null;
            fileInputStream = new FileInputStream(file);
            streamCopy(fileInputStream, servletOutputStream);
    }

    That servlet already is Java. And the servlet code isn't what "opens" the PDF, it's the browser that sends the request that does that. I'm assuming that when you say "open it" you mean to start up an instance of Adobe Acrobat and ask it to display the document.

  • Need help exporting multiple individual PDF files out of Indesign CC

    I work for a monthly publication and we send our files to the press at the end of the month. There are around 190+ pages that need to be exported as individual PDF's and each PDF needs to be labled as their correct page number. Since we often are backed up against the wall at our deadline, we really need a way to export all these files at one time. Is there a way to export multiple PDF files at one time in Indesign CC?

    You could script InDesign to export each page as individual PDF with specific export presets and labeled with correct page number.
    But you could also use Acrobat Pro for this task (sorry for the certainly wrong translation of the Acrobat UI – I use a german version ...):
    Export the whole publication as 1 PDF file (pp. 1-190).
    Open it in Acrobat Pro and choose »Tools › Extract Pages«.
    Type 1 to 190 and check the box »extract pages as single pages«, choose the location where to extract to and acrobat automatically numbers your new PDFs sequentially from 1 to x. (Caution: it doesn’t take the correct page number, but numbers sequentially, so it is important to have a PDF from pp. 1-190 in the correct order.)
    So with this (as mentioned – sorry for German ):
    You’ll get this:

  • Links to excel file on safari page suddenly stopped working, but work in firefox.  Happened yesterday. Help!

    I have a webpage with links mapped from an icon to two excel files. They aren't working. I checked the html. it is identical to two links to .png files and the location is correct, but nothing happens when you click the link.  I have reset, emptied cache and thrown out the plists,
    The html reads:
    <img usemap="#Curio_Map" src="Steps%20in%20Detail(3D691625).png" />
    <map name="Curio_Map">
    <area href="Assets/7B8E04AB/Strategic%20Planning%20Detail%20Dairy.xlsx" shape="polygon" coords="455,66 844,66 844,296 455,296" >
    <area href="Assets/18C769C4/Initial%20questions%20for%20Strategic%20Planning.xls" shape="polygon" coords="14,71 431,71 431,293 14,293" >
    </map>
    The Assets folder is in the same folder as the index.html page with frames and the page within the frame.
    The html for the .png files that do work is:
    <img usemap="#Curio_Map" src="Supporting%20Doc(698C969A).png" />
    <map name="Curio_Map">
    <area href="Assets/9D8D3352/P%20of%20PDSA%20Altresco.pdf" shape="polygon" coords="22,126 102,126 102,192 22,192" >

    </map>
    Look the same to me!  Why does one work and the other not, and why did it happen all of a sudden?  Any thoughts?

    It sounds like the page has somehow got stuck in the cache of
    a server
    somewhere. Delete the file from the server, and then call the
    page.
    Hopefullt you should then get a 404 error. Then FTP the page
    back. This
    should hopefully clear out the cache.

  • My submit button on my PDF form is greyed out (will not work) after posting link to PDF on my WordPress website. It works in Acrobat Reader just fine.

    This is where you can see the form as clicked through to from the WordPress website page:
    http://pinetreeplayers.com/ptp_new/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/submit-a-play.pdf
    The PDF file was created in Acrobat 11, with a submit button. The submit button is actioned to send the form via email. It works perfectly by itself if the form is opened in Acrobat Reader, but once I upload the PDF to my WordPress site the submit button is greyed out, and will not complete the action to send on-click.
    How can I fix this please - can anyone offer advice?

    Yes. They need to download Reader and then disable Google Chrome's internal PDF viewer and enable Adobe Reader.
    FireFox should also be configured to use Adobe Reader and not the internal PDF viewer.
    The internal viewers are created to process PDF documents by not including the features and code to process PDF forms.

  • I need help with combining two pdf files together but it won't let me in the latest Acrobat DC?

    Hi,
    I had two ai files, 11 by 17 on separate pages, and made them into pdf's. When I combine the files, it will let one out of the two files go through. The funny thing is that it will let the larger file go through than the smaller file. The file that went through had been in  ai, dropped it into photoshop and put it back into ai again. The file that won't go through is a quote with different text. What should I do? What does pdf/a, pdf/x, pdf/e and preflight mean?
    Thank you

    Make sure neither of the PDF have been secured in some manner like password protection, form rights or forms distribution.
    Forms created with live cycle cannot be combined by Acrobat.

  • Missing .PNG link in PDF file

    I need to modify text in pdf file but getting .png missing error in Ai and need help. I am learning so please bear with me.
    I have to modify text in a PDF file which also contain images. When i open pdf in Acrobat, it shows everything correctly but when i open PDF file in Adobe Illustrator CS5, it complaints on missing <FileName>.PNG, and ask me to point out the folder where .png is located, and i dont have it because i only got PDF. When i click on ignore the complain then it shows the pdf without the image, and some text boxes i need to modify (which i suppose were part of the link as well). I can re-create text boxes but for missing image, i am guessing I have to copy paste the images from the opended PDF file in Acrobat, and then adjust the background in Photoshop to make it work to blend into the PDF file (because after i copy the image it show black background  behind the objects and via Acrobat it only shows the objects with transparent background), but i dont have Photoshop to correct it. Pardon me, but this to me looks like tool deficiency, one tool shows the other does not or may be PDF should not be opened in AI for modifications.
    If latter is correct then what is the best practice to modify the design when you do not have the design/ai file and have PDF only?
    Any recommendations how can i resolve the missing .png issue?

    Pardon me, but this to me looks like tool deficiency,
    No, it isn't. You just don't understand how it works (no offense). The PDF was saved with AI editing capabilities and when present, AI favors this part of the PDF file over the native PDF data. Hence you run into trouble. Had whoever sent you the file just sent a flattened PDF, AI would open it at the cost of possibly creating a mess on other ends. You simply cannot have both. The fault is with the workflow and how the fiels were created in the first place. Similarly, copy&pasting content from Acrobat to otehr programs such as you do is working perfectly correct. Transparency handling is diffewrent between programs and additionally, color space conversion issues may figure in. all Acrobat ever knows and cares about is the flattened result, which is just the baked appearance, not something meant for extensive editing. So to cut a long story short: Feel free to employ the patching method involvin Acro, PS and AI that you already described yourself, but if you ask me, the smarter thing to do would simply be to request that missing PNG...

  • RH9 TOC Links to PDF files are quirky

    I have a project that consists of TOC book links to PDF files. In RH6 I always just manually popped them into the \!SSL!\WebHelp folder and linked to them from TOC books because importing them into the project took days. Or 20 minutes at least. Some of these files were 300 pages, so I manually loaded the smaller files too, to maintain procedural consistency. Either way, manually loading them is fastest so it just makes sense.
    I'm doing this in RH9, and it works just fine in the live project. The problem is in Robohelp. No sooner do I close the project and reopen it, but all the books have question marks with crosses through them as if they have broken links. They do not.  The links are STILL fine, and when I compile the project they open, just as they should. In RH6 this wasn't remotely an issue.
    Is this a bug? I went back and redid the links twice before realizing it wasn't me, it was Robohelp. So whenever I open a project that has a TOC book link to an outside file, like a .pdf, or .ppt, or xls or whatever, is this going to happen? I lose visual clues for the broken links because they ALL appear to be broken?

    Hi Maureen
    I used to encounter this all the time with RoboHelp X5. And it coaxed me into developing what I feel is an interesting and more reliable approach.
    Have you noticed that even on a fast intranet it seems to take an inordinate amount of time to open a PDF? I mean, with most of your topics, the user clicks and nearly instantly something happens. The topic generally loads right up in the topic pane. But a PDF, Word document or other file seems to take eons to load. Well, comparatively.
    So I developed this thing I referred to as a "docfetch". Basically, I created regular RoboHelp topics. Linked those topics to the books pages or whatever. Then configured those topics to redirect to the PDF, Word document or other.
    The expected benefit was that because I was now actually linking to topics in the project, those funky mysteriously broken links in the TOC disappeared. The unexpected side benefit was that users then saw an immediate response to clicking the link. I configured each of these topics to present some verbiage to the effect that they should please wait as the document was being opened. This put a stop to users reporting that things were "broken" as they then saw an immediate response.
    The code you need will be placed in the HTML of the topic. Just insert it somewhere in the Head area.
    <meta HTTP-EQUIV=refresh CONTENT="3;URL=File_Name.pdf">
    Of course you will want to adjust it to suit your own needs. For example, the line above is configured for a 3 second delay. You may want a shorter (or longer) delay. And you would adjust File_Name.pdf to reflect the path and file name of the PDF (or other file) you are linking to.
    Hope this helps... Rick

  • Linking a PDF file to Word Press

    Hello,
    I really need some support in how to link a pdf file
    (Acrobat.com) that I've already created to my blogsite in Word
    Press. Can anybody PLEASE guide me in understanding the steps? I've
    already downloaded the file and saved it on my computer. Now I'm
    trying to copy the HTML code or access the URL, but neither seems
    to work when I click on buttons. What am I supposed to do?
    Any help and support would be appreciated!
    Thanks so much -
    Dorit

    Hello Dorit,
    Thank you for your post. I'll be glad to try to help you with
    sharing a .pdf file via your blog.
    Start at Acrobat.com and choose My Files. Next, click the
    file you want to embed in your blog. On the right side of the page,
    choose Copy Embed Code. The necessary HTML code to embed the
    preview is
    automatically copied onto the clipboard. I can understand
    that this would be confusing as there is no indication after you
    click the buttons that anything happened... but the code is now on
    your clipboard. Open the HTML file - your WordPress blog - and
    paste (CTRL+V on Windows machines) the code into the file.
    Hope this helps! Please let me know if you run into any
    trouble with this process.
    Kind Regards,
    Michelle

  • How to create link for pdf file in discoverer worksheet

    Hi All,
    I would like to create a link for pdf file into discoverer report (worksheet).
    So that i can open linked pdf file using worksheet link.
    Can any one tell me about this?
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hi,
    I think the best way to do this is to use a database directory so that you can access your pdf file as a bfile. Then create a mod_plsql procedure that sets the mime type and downloads the pdf file. You then create a calculation in the EUL then returns the URL to your mod_plsql procedure. You can then include this calculation as a hyperlink in your worksheet.
    It is not as difficult as it sounds. Please let me know if you need anymore details.
