Need help. pdf is just grey? but why?

Hello, and thanks for helping. I've received a pdf. When I open it is Adobe it is just a solid light grey. When I open it in Apple's Preview it is the pdf as it should be with text. Why is this happening? Can I do something so that it open properly in Acrobat?

Also, please be aware that Lightroom is not a file browser like your operating system Finder or Explorer is. If the photos are not in the folder you expected them to be in, it is because you (accidentally) imported them into a different folder.

Other than Apple there are only two vendors with which I have personal experience and can recommend: Crucial and OWC. People have reported problems with many other brands, yet Crucial and OWC's prices are as good as any you are likely to find. Patriot is another brand recommended by ASC contributors but I have no experience with them.
Go to Crucial and download the little app that examines your system and recommends RAM upgrade options.
Their prices are good but don't have to buy memory from them - determine what you need and buy it from Crucial or OWC / MacSales.

Apparently my first response was off in left field. The DVD player has its own code. My recommendation is to change the code when it asks. It is possible that the disks that play correctly are region-free and the ones that don't have a region code. If this does not work, you still have four more changes available; you won't be stuck with the new code.

Need help resizing photos - confused as to why this isn't working

Hi - I have a customer looking for photos to be 1024x683 and 360x240. I sized my artboard in Illustrator to those dimensions, dropped in the photo and resized it to fit. Saved file. When running cursor over file name - blip comes up and says file size dimensions are 1504 x919 for example (they're all different) and these are examples on the ones that I sized for 360x240. If anyone can respond that would be great as I'm supposed to have about 100 files out overnight tonight! Thanks!...h

You can use save for web, just don't forget to turn on clip to Artboard. Otherwise items off the artboard would make your document larger. An artboard not filled short of the EXACT edges, would also make your document smaller.
If you need a different format, use export but check use arboards there and then choose screen resolution.

The only results I'm finding refer to sites that talk about jailbreaking iPhones.
My only suggestion is to try restoring your iPhone, or to visit an AT&T store(assuming you're in the US) for a new SIM.

Noob needs help - PDF Fails to display - Only black screen

I am new to FB. I was tasked with finishing up an desktop application that someone else started. They were using FB 3.
I got the trial of FB 4.5 and imported the project. Then started the process of learning FB. I am working on a Mac.
I got the UI fixed and a few bugs. Then exported a release build. Ran it on windows all seemed fine except for display a few PDFs.
The PDFs all display fine on my Mac, just not on Windows. I searched all over for some clue as to what is happening. I even tried installing the latest Adobe Reader, still no change,
The code that displays the PDFs couldn't be more simple:

I did notice that the canvas should not be used in favor of a BorderContainer or a Group.
Since being totally new to this, I figured I'd get it working before I tried to chage the containers. I looked at doing that but didn't have the time to figure it out as I have a deadline, the 14th.
We plan on buying this as we want to turn the app into a mobile app also.

I don't have any problem displaying those PDF files with Safari on either my iPad Air 2 or iPhone 5 which are both on iOS 8.1.2.
Perhaps the problem is dependent on whatever else you are doing in the browser.

yep i know that, but here i repeat again "mobo is missing CoreCell CHIP.. Voltage circuit is very bad... max memory VDimm is 2.7 (2.8 with BIOS mod) and undervolted also..." etc max 2.7VDimm will give arround 2.58V - 2.62V actually reading which is not enought for almost any nominal voltage at default Vcore. and mobo is picky to memory.. in some cases is hard to powerup "Value" memory what about High Performance... this "High Performance" will stuck at "Value" FSB and timmings and will bring nothink much than regular memory.(expept some memory timmgs drops, but that isnt regular for High Performance expept XMS series for example which is requred lots of Vcore..) that depend of memory CHIP's at 1st place so its depending. but overall High Performance will bring nothink better that standart Value Series as results in that mobo and there is risk to be inpossible to work on it also. have a long time opiniion with that mobo owned it for 2 years and in this period i had tested alot of memory brands and types.
dont understand me wrong i agree with you with High Performance memories and always reccomend also brand like you said is pretty good. but in this cause will bring nothink much compared to value series and may come problem due not enought power need. that memories cant develop his full potencial on Socket A.
and that "PC-4000 from Mushkin" is total unusefull that will be hard to powerup. that DDR500 may reach may not 200FSB if even PC can boot with it. "PC-4000 from Mushkin" you probably mean the newest which is operating at low DIMM Vcore which is 2.8V but that is impossible task for that mobo. couse cant get real 2.8V for it
most of newest memory is using UTT,BH5,BH6,TCCD chips wich is reated as nominal 2.7V minimum but in fact they need little more abit for normal operation and when we add undervoted DIMMs on mobo will be not nice situation. i suggest to 88chopper88 to consult here also for chips inside memory <a href="http://www.techpowerup.com/memdb/ ">Memory Database[/url] before getting his choice.

Need help on doing full import but expluding SYSTEM tables like REPCAT$%

I am using impdp and want to do a full import of the source database but exclude tables (and dependent objects like indexes, etc.) owned by the SYSTEM user like REPCAT$%, AQ$%, etc. Have tried several things with no success. Need a working example if at all possible.

By default, the table_exists_action is skip, so if the tables existed, they would be skipped anyway. No harm would be done to the database that was being imported into. I was just trying to answer his question, not try to guess if that is what he really wanted to do. Your response would certainly skip the complete schema, but I wasn't sure if that is what he wanted to do or not. He said that he only had certain tables that he wanted to skip. In his follow up question, he asked about skipping tables with the same name in different schemas, so I didn't want to read into his question any more than what was asked.

A white playback area means you're missing the proper video codec.
Use the Movie Inspector window to find out what's used and a Google search to find that codec right your your machine.

Need help... greyed out wifi(no wi-fi)

after restoring my ipad i tried to get back online and seeing that my wifi tab in general settings was greyed and it says no wi-fi
anybody can help with this problem?? i tried restore, update to newest itunes, newest firmware(3.2.2) and tried to hard reset
the blutooth tab is also doing the same thing

I need help...just lost about 20gigs of HD space

Hi folks...I installed three programs....Handbrake, Mactheripper and ffxmpegx, and i copied a movie to my desktop (temporarily) all in all...about 1 gig. A few hours ago...I realized though that I'm missing about 28 gigs of HD space.
My question is the following.
is there a program or feature on the mac, that will allow me to see which programs are taking up the most amount of space? For example, my pc, has the 'add/remove programs' section, which also states program sizes.
If anyone can help, i'd appreciate it. Thanks

Your post didn't mention, do you use FileVault?
I've seen a number of these 'disappearing space' issues caused by a feature of FileVault: it doesn't recover disk space when you delete anything unless it's plugged in to an AC outlet.
Note I said 'feature' not 'bug'. The sparse file (which is what FileVault stores the encrypted profile in) can only be shrunk to recover space while you are logging off or restarting. It could be catastrophic to interrupt this process, so it won't offer to do it while the machine is not plugged in.
If you do use it, try plugging in the laptop then either restarting or just logging out. When it asks if you want to recover space, agree & let it run.

I need help fixing an ipod classic 5g why isnt it making music?

im fixing an ipod classic 5g 30gb and i got it a new battery and audio jack/hold switch but it doesnt produce music other than the clicking when you scroll the wheel i traded out mother boards out of an identical broken ipod (thats only problem was it had a scratched up case and the battery strip was torn)incase it was just the the harddrive pin connector thing being broken so it should make noise but ive tried plugging it into speakers and headphones that work on everything else it's just the ipod wont make noise idk what to do ive even went to the settings and made sure the volume limit was set right but still please dont tell me the new audio jack i waited almost 3 weeks in the mail for is broken -_-

To verify whether or not it is an issue with the headphone jack or logic board, have you tried placing the iPod onto a dock with a dock connector and had it output sound via the dock instead of the headphone jack?

NEED HELP: Deleted windows from bootcamp but comp. won't boot into mac OS!!

Here is my problem -
I tried to install windows with bootcamp and couldn't get it to work because I had no valid product key for windows. So I deleted the windows partition to remove it from my mac. However, when I boot up the computer it goes to a black screen and tries to boot from a cd instead of just booting directly into leopard.
If I hold down the option key when I turn on the computer it bypasses that black screen and allows me to select the hard drive for leopard - then everything works as normal.
So my question is - how can I stop my laptop from trying to load from the cd and just boot directly into leopard when I turn on the computer like it used to.
Please help me - thank.
