Need help setting up TV equiptment

I have been very ill and I need help setting up my TV, DVR, Receiver, Surround sound systems. I'm afraid if I try to work on all the equiptment, I'll drop my HDTV or other componets because I'm still weak. Can anyone help me? I've called a few places and they want $100.00 to set it up. Give me a break! I know about inputs and outputs and other cables, I just don't have the strength to move the equiptment around. I am willing to pay. Please call me at 813-{edited for privacy}. Thanks, Teresa {edited for privacy}

Teresa,
I think the best way for someone to volunteer to help you would be for them to send you a Private Message (PM) here on the forums. You should see a small envelope in the upper right corner of the screen, when it changes color you will know you have a PM to view.
I would be happy to help, but since I am in North Texas I don't think that is a viable option Sorry....

Need help setting up 3 different iCloud accounts for my kids (so each has own iMessanger)using same Apple ID (mine) ....they don't have their own separate email addresses to work from...how do I do this?

Any devices connected to the same icloud account can sync all the data on that account.  For this reason an icloud account is really for a single user.
On a mac, if each user has their own account, then the itunes for that mac account should be set up to connect to that user's icloud account (System preferences>icloud).

  • Need help setting up and configuring rsync

    Hello
I need help setting up, or rather configuring rsync to sync data between my brand new iMac and my Macbook Air.
Here is what I would like to:
    - I want all of the files on both machines to be an exact mirror or copy of each other. Basically I have an iMac for at home, and then a Macbook Air for the road.
    - The main folder on both Macs is called 'Sara' and I want the contents (mainly the 'movies' folder, 'music' folder, 'documents' folder and 'pictures' folder) to immediately sync up with each other when both of them are on my home network.
    - this means if I'm working on a file at home on my Macbook, it will immediately write to the same directory on my iMac and vice versa (if I'm working on file(s) on my iMac, it will immediately save the contents to my Macbook). This way, if I'm working on last minute project my iMac, and then have to head out the door to the airport, the file is immediately saved to my Macbook (no usb for USB transfer).
    - hopefully this makes sense??
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

It's a lofty but unrealistic goal.  Rsync does not run automatically.  There is no realistic method of instantaneously synching two computers over the internet or even on a LAN.
I would suggest you might try using Synk Pro which, in theory, can keep two devices in sync when they are both on the same network (and both have shared and mounted drives.)
If you must do this with rsync then I suggest a Google search for rsync tutorials.

I need help setting up an apple id for my son's phone. It seems his email address has been taken and/or we cant get the password.

    Two different things
    If you forgot the password
If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
If the email ID you want to use is in use by someone else - then you may need a new one
The iCloud ID's are usually unique and may be of help if you set one up

  • Need help Setting up Multiple Static Ip , 1 for each port of the fios router

Need help Setting up multiple Static Ip on my fios router
I have been trying to figure out how to set up multiple ip in my fios router.
However I kind of managed how to set up multiple static ip However the way I want it is for each port of my router to have an external ip signed to it. ( like 4 different modem in 1 )
Verizon gave me 5 static ip but they can not help me how to set it up.
Have anyone here done more then one static ip on different ports? I assume that the process will be the after the second static ip.

You want to set up Static Nat. You will not assign the IP to a port, but rather to a local machine. Figure out what machines you want your IP's to go to. Under the firewall section you will see static nat. Pick the machine you want and enter one of the IP's you were assigned.

downloaded the outlook app, need help setting it up.

Is it actually called Outlook, or is it called Outlook Mail Pro or Outlook Mail Complete or something like that? Those apps are actually by separate companies (ie, not Microsoft), and I don't personally have experience with them, but here are links to their support sites which should have the information you need (or an email address you can write to):
    Outlook Mail Pro: http://support.codebeforedawn.com/customer/portal/topics/38871-outlook-mail-pro

  • Deperately need help setting up external midi devices

I need help setting up external midi devices.....Motu828...Midi express...RolandXV3080....Motif rack.......HELP

Theres not really much to setup. Assuming your synths are connected to the MIDI Express already..
In Logic, make a new MIDI track. On the left hand side in the track inspector, among the parameters you'll see an option for MIDI Port and Channel. Just pick which port the track is going to, set the channel and device id and play (And be glad you never had to deal with setting up the old Environment window in Logic 5 and below).
If you really wanna get into it and have all your MIDI ports named after the synth thats connected to it, open up Audio Midi Setup, create a device icon for each synth you have and draw the cables from each device to whatever port its connected to on the midi interface's icon.
Then in Logic everytime you pick your MIDI port on your track, instead of MIDI Port 1, MIDI Port 2, etc.,
it would be labelled XV-3080, Motif Rack, and so on.. I dont think theres anyway to do this within Logic itself (you can change the labels on your audio ins and outs, but not MIDI as far as I can recall)..
If youre talking about having access to patch names and whatnot like Digital Performer and Cubase let you do, Logic doesnt use the xml patch lists everyone else does. The above steps are pretty much all there is to be done as far as MIDI.
Heres my Audio Midi Setup window for reference.
Now when I select MIDI Port 1 in Logic its named MWXT, port 2 is SR-16, etc..

  • Please Read This if You Need Help Setting Up Email...

    Hi Everyone!
If you are hoping to use your Nokia phone for send and receiving emails you will need to set this up prior to use.
You may find that your phone has already been setup to send and receive emails by your network. This will be for the email address that has been provided to you by your network. If you would like to set up your phone for another email account, like your private or work email account, this will need to be set up by you.
The easiest way to do this is to order the settings from our site. You can do this from this link: Nokia Settings Page Here you can order all the settings you might need, to get your email settings click on Order Advance Settings and choose email when prompted.
Dont worry if you can't see your email provider in that list, if you have Nokia PC Suite installed you can connect your phone to your PC and configure your email account with some software.
If you have a 9500, 9300 or 9300i communicator you can go here: Nokia Configuartion Tool
If you have 3220, 6230i, 8800, 6810, 6820 or 6822 you can go here: Nokia Email Configuration Tool
If you have a series 60 phone like a 6680 or 7610 etc you can install the Settings Wizard from here: Nokia Settings Wizard. This application will attempt to configure your email settings for you. You will need a working installation of PC Suite to install this from your PC. If you are able to get the installation file on to your phone you will be able to install from there.
If your phone has not been listed in any of the above points, then unfortunately you will need to configure the phone manually. If you need to do this you will have to find out some basic information first:
    Your incoming server address
    Your outgoing server address
Do you require a secure incoming/outgoing connection?
    Do you need SSL?
Your email provider will be able to provide all this information, if you get stuck during the setup on what you should be entering for a setting, your email provider will be able to help you out.
Hope this is enough to help some of you out, any comments are welcome - just send me a PM.
    Cheers
    Karim

Road Runner is a pain at times to get to work on both Wi-Fi and EDGE. It seems as if their outgoing mail server doesn't like to roam. CWMX is ONLY for use on the cellular network, and if you plan on using Wi-Fi to send e-mails periodically, CWMX will NOT work.
My solution: Sign up for a GMAIL account, and forward your e-mails to the GMAIL account (provided POP access is enabled). Just log-in to this GMAIL account with your iPhone, and you'll get all your e-mails! If you need any help, let me know, I'll be glad to get you some directions.

  • Need help setting up external hard drive for FCE project

    Hi folks,
Basically I am looking at making a 20-30 minute video this summer of my motocross adventures and what not and have equipped myself with an iMac (2.93 GHZ Core2Duo 640GB 4GB) and of course, FCE. I have tried smaller projects before (ranging in length between 20 seconds to upwards of a few minutes) but have noticed an overall decline in computer speed which I am under the impression is being caused by the 10s of GBs of video project files and what not that seem to be scrawled away within my computer. Before I made any videos, my computer was sitting around 560 GBs of free space. Since making maybe 3-4 videos (50/50 iMovie and FCE) its down below 400GBs. I'm not sure whether it's the raw video files or the projects themselves that are so large, but it's slightly frustrating. Is there any sort of software (either third party or apple) that can look at your hard drive and tell you exactly where all the biggest files are? I'll post this question in the iMac forum as I realize this is for FCE, but I thought if anyone knew of one it would be extremely helpful.
Anyways, I have a SimpleDrive 320GB external HD that I plan to use as my external for making this project within FCE and would like some help in terms of how to set it up with FCE, what are the best settings etc. It is currently formatted with Windows, so I will also need help in setting it up for a Mac. I do have about 120GBs used on it already and was also wondering if I could keep this when re-formatting, but I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to that.
Sorry for the long-winded post; any information on this or something related would be fantastic. Thanks.

Yes, you can use your external HD with FCE ... provided it is formatted as +Mac OS Extended+ and is connected via FireWire.
You will need to back up any data that is on the drive that you want to keep. Before reformatting it. Formatting erases everything that is on the drive.
Use Disk Utility (located in your +Applications > Utilities+ folder) to format the drive.
After formatting the drive, go into +FCE > System Settings+ and change your FCE scratch disk location to the external drive.

  • Need help setting up automatic bootable backup

    Hello
I need to set up a bootable backup on a second drive on a G4 XServe running OS X Server 10.3.9. This has to run automatically when no user is logged in to the server, so as far as I can tell, commercial backup software will not run. I'm hoping there's a command line way to do this, that can be invoked as a cron job. In poking around, perhaps ditto or rsync can be used for this, but I'm not familiar enough with these commands to even try. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    G4 XServe   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

You can use rsync for sync'ing or ditto for a complete clone (among other options)
    But here's an anternative.
    http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html
This new vesion of SuperClone is a good solution (previous versions were more limited in use)
It handles smart-updates (syn) and scheduling just fine.
Here's the only catch when running it on a server.
It creates the schedule by adding a user cron job which calls an Applescript.
Because this is a user cron job, it only works when that user is logged in.
The author tells me that if you create the schedule while logged in as the root user, that it will work just fine without a user logged in. (cron job is root)
You could probably do the same by just moving the cron from user to root.
    Jeff

  • Need help setting up svnserve to launch automatically.

Last night I created a svn repository on my iMac.  I imported an svn dump into it and I was able to access my code from localhost and a remote machine (same LAN) using Versions.  But I then set up a LaunchDaemon and access via _svn user and now I get errors. HELP!!  I am getting a malformed data error.
I used this code: (stupidly on my Snow Leopard 10.6.8 machine)
But instead of running it manually, we can run it automatically when the server Mac starts up by using launchd. You can read up onGetting Started with launchd, but basically it's the new startup process in Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). So, to start svnserve automatically, create the file /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.tigris.subversion.svnserve.plist, and put the following in it:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

I also used these commands to give the _svn user acces to my repository.
    sudo chown -R _svn:_svn /Volumes/Development/svn
    sudo chmod -R ug+rwX,o= /Volumes/Development/svn
      sudo launchctl start org.tigris.subversion.svnserve
Before I did these things, everything worked beautifully, just I had to start the server manually after reboots.
Now, I can't even access the repository anymore.
I need help to get my work back online!

If the iPhone is no longer activated with cellular service, they are not text messages as in SMS/MMS. They are iMessages which can be sent to a phone number activated with iMessage or to the Apple ID that is activated with the phone number with iMessage on an iPhone.
Signing out of the Apple ID with the iTunes and App Store on an iPhone is seperate from signing out of the Apple ID with iMessage and FaceTime.
All apps include DRM protection that is tied to the iTunes account or Apple ID that was used to download the apps. The only way the person you are giving the iPhone to will be able to download an app update for any apps on the iPhone that were downloaded with your Apple ID will be using your Apple ID and password.
Music and apps currently installed on the iPhone will not be removed.
To sign out of your Apple ID with iMessage, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID. Select the Apple ID and at the window that appears, select Sign Out. Sign in there with the new Apple ID that will be used by the person you are giving the iPhone to. Do the same with FaceTime on the iPhone.
