NEED iCAL "TO DOs" ON iPHONE

Why weren't TO DO's included with the iCal feature on the iPhone? Am I missing something? It seems logical that you could take your TO DO list with you on the iPhone, check off items completed, and sync it upon returning to home or office.

Proabably because this will be something included with Leopard. There is no way to sync iPhone Notes at the present time either but Leopard Mail will include an integrated Noted feature which will likely take care of this with the iPhone.
Remember that Leopard was originally scheduled to be released last Spring before the iPhone but was delayed until October due to the iPhone so I believe this is why To Do's and Notes are not currently synced.
This will likely leave those who don't upgrade to Leopard without either option and who knows what is in store for Windows users in this regard.

  • Viewing iCal To Dos on iPhone

Is it possible to view iCal To Dos on the iPhone? If so, how?

I just got my iPhone and discovered the limitation. Not good. I decided temporarily to put my to dos onto the particular dates as events without times. It's not great. But I'm thinking of every day/week copying my pertinent to dos as events. Then at least they're visible on the iPhone. Only other option I see now is Notes. Fingers crossed Apple will fix this in a future release.

  • A way to get ical to dos onto iphone via icloud?

Is there a way to do that without paying 60 euros for an app (referring to Things).
Help is REALLY appreciated since after fiddling with icloud and ical for hours in vain and wasting 9 eur on an app that wont work, l feel like crawling under the bed in frustration. How is it that Apple has made this so complicated!
PS. Why on icloud.com I can see all of my calendars except for "Reminders" – my "to do" calendar (it's correctly placed under my apple id).
PPS. I am using Snow Leopard

Thank you, but that's not very helpful since I'm already using icloud.com (I mention this in my que nr. 2) and the icloud calendar does not show my task/reminder list to begin with.

This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.
This is a picture of what it looks like now:
    http://tinypic.com/r/107quxu/7
As you can see, the stuff circled in red doesn't give me an option to download from Cloud Beta because it already says "downloaded".
any way to get around that?

  • My ical is not populating after i reinstalled my operating system - my Outlook 2011 is ok but I now want to sink my iphone 4 with my outlook and i presume i need ical to be populated for this

My ical is not populating after i reinstalled my operating system - my Outlook 2011 is ok but I now want to sink my iphone 4 with my outlook and i presume i need ical to be populated for this

Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

  • Events not showing in iCal after sync with iPhone

A whole week of appointments don't show up in iCal after syncing with my iPhone - all the appointments are on my iPhone but they won't copy over.
Funnily enough, the week that is not showing up is changing every Monday...
    Anyone seen this before?

I found this solution in another discussion. It's from this website: http://iphonewriter.blogspot.co.nz/2008/05/how-to-fixing-ical-iphone-sync-issues .html)
"You'll know the syncing issue when you see it, because the new events you enter into the Calendar on your Apple iPhone will not appear in iCal. Said another way, you'll enter a new event into your iPhone, use iTunes to sync with your Mac (or MacBook in our case) and the new event on your iPhone will not show up in iCal. Keep trying, synch as you might, iCal and the Apple iPhone just won't get along.
Here's the down and dirty fix:
Open iCal and backup or export your entries. Make a note of the fie name and location, you're going to need them in a minute. Once your backup/export is completed, close the iCal application.
Open Finder and remove everything inside the "Username/Library/Calendars" folder. For instance, if your username is "Joe", then move everything inside the "Joe/Library/Calendars" folder.
Open the iSync application. It's located in the "/Applications/" folder. Once iSync is opened, go into the iSync Preferences (iSync -> Preferences) and push/click the "Reset Sync History" button. Then, close the iSync application.
Re-Open the iCal application and Restore your calendar. When prompted, use your notes from Step #1 to select the file your created earlier.
At this point all my appointments were showing up properly in iCal, and did not disappear after syncing again with the iPhone.

  • TS3999 I see all of my calendar events in iCal and on my iPhone, but not in the iCloud web app.  Any ideas why?

I see all of my calendar events in iCal and on my iPhone, but not in the iCloud web app.  Any ideas why?

If the calendar is on iCoud.com, all you would need to do to get it on your phone is go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, sign into your iCoud account and turn Calendars on.  The iCloud calendars will then download to your phone.

  • I cannot delete an iCal event on my Iphone.

I cannot delete an iCal event on my Iphone. It does not have the edit button at the top of the screen.
The event does not show up in iCal on my Mac or on my iCloud.
One of these is a reoccuring event.

The only other thing I can think of is to try deleting the entire calendar from your iPhone and then sync your iCal calendar to your phone again.  This needs to be done carefully.  I would begin by backing up your iCal calendar on your mac for safekeeping by opening iCal, then going to File>Export>Export, save this on your desktop.  Then do the following:
On your phone go to Settings>iCloud and turn Calendars to Off.  You should get a prompt asking you whether to keep or remove the calendar data from your phone.  Choose to remove it.
Without connecting your phone, open iTunes on your computer and go to iTunes>Preferences, go to the Devices tab check "Prevent...from automatically syncing".
Now connect your phone and, as before, go to the Info tab of your iTunes sync settings.  Confirm that you have checked to Sync Calendars with iCal, then further down under Advanced: Replace information on this iPhone check Calendars, then click Apply at the bottom to sync your phone.
This should transfer your iCal calendar to your iPhone, hopefully this time without the problem event.  Check your phone to confirm that this was successful, then you can then go back to iTunes Preferences and re-enable automatic syncing.

  • How to using ical with two separate iphones

    hello
trying to understand and learn how to use Ical with 2 different Iphones, using Icloud.

To sync iCal across computers, the calendar needs to be published to a server. This can be a local server that you can set up, or it can be something like google or microsoft exchange or apple's mobile me. The best bet may be to wait until fall and see what iCloud offers!
Sharing your screen can be accomplished a few different ways. You can have two iChat accounts set up, and have one logged in on each computer, and then use iChat's screen share feature. The other way is to go to System Preferences, Sharing, and then check the box next to Screen Sharing. You may have to adjust some of the settings in there, but give that a shot.

  • ICal drag and drop / iPhone Calendar alerts

Hi, I use iCal like this:
    - I drag text to it and drop to create an event
    - repeat above to create many more events
    - I sync with iPhone to have that event on the iphone as well
How do I configure it so that every new event created will have a default alert alarm that goes off say 15 mins before... or 30 mins before? I do not want to configure each event's alert individually.
whether the event alerts me or not in iCal itself is not important. The important thing is that the alert is on the iPhone.
    thanks.

I REALLY want to buy an iphone, but the lack of event/appointment reminders is stopping me. You see, I now use a palm centro cell phone. I can use it's calendar to set up all my daily meetings, appointments, whatever. Then, when one comes up, it goes off with a LOUD ring alert (set to any of several sounds). If it is in my pocket, or in another room, and I don't pick it up and hit OK, or cancel, it will continue to go off every 15 seconds until it gets my attention. I REALLY want to get an iphone, but I absolutely need to have the iCal app on the iphone to give me a real alert when a scheduled event comes up. The iphone will only give you a small notice on the screen and a SINGLE, quick chirp the way it works right now. IF you miss it, you're screwed. You can't hear it in your pocket, or in another room. And, it only gives that silly, pathetic, 1-single chirp! What good is that? As good as the rest of the iphone's features are, (awesome!), I can't believe it lacks the basic ability to have iCal give scheduled event alerts. It should go off in a LOUD sound, selectable by the user, and should go off initially for at least 15 seconds, and then every 15 seconds if you don't respond, so it WILL get your attention. I can't afford to miss meetings, lunches, scheduled calls, etc. I want to do my daily schedule on my mac, then have it auto sync to iphone thru mobileme, and give me REAL iCal alerts!!!! Until then, I can't take the chance on iphone.
Yes, I have sent in feedback to apple about this.

  • Sync iCal's TODO with iPhone

Will this come true in iPhone 3.0?
Anybody experienced this feature in the beta version of iPhone 3.0 firmware?

It is hard to believe that there is no synchronisation of iCal ToDoList with the iPhone at the moment.
However there are at least two programmes that can do the job. I tested them both in a presales version.
MissingSync (€40, http://www.markspace.com/iphone/mac/) works via WiFi, I knew the program from my PalmTX synchronisations, which were performed via USB. But the iPhone version did not work. Always when I tried to sync I was thrown out of my WiFi by the iPhone. Simply the WiFi symbol of my iPhone was exchanged against the 3G Symbol. It is not very likely that it was due to my WiFi, because other WiFi applications as FileMagnet did work. However out of 50 tries I managed only two synchronisations. That was pity, because I liked MissingSync a lot from the time of my Palm synchronisations.
Things (€48, http://culturedcode.com/) however worked well. But you need both the Mac and the iPhone version. But the synchronisation works only if the Mac and the iPhone are within the same WiFi network at the same time. I would have preferred the cable instead.
    Best regards.

  • Calendar events on iphone won't sync to ical on Mac since iphone 7.0.2 upgrade

Help! Some events - but not every one -  entered into new Iphone SW 7.0.2 do not sync back to the Calendar (v 4.0.4 from ILife 2009).  I have tried rebooting my systems (computer and phone), as well as re-creating the problem by adding new test events, and I get the same result: calendar additions nor deletions entered from the Iphone do not sync to the computer. I do not have this problem with Iphoto or other apps in 7.0.2.

update to my original post:  after searching since for the past 10 days - I did want to pass along to others with an iphone calendar sync problem the following resource:
Mac OS X: Resetting the SyncServices folder
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
This is the preferred solution for problems with sync with calendar and other apps between iphone and MaciOS.  This did solve the problem which developed that no items from iCal were copying to Iphone, such as new calendars I would add, but the original problem has not been fixed by this reset.

  • I recently began using reminders in ical and downloaded the iPhone and iPad app. It works great. However, the reminders in ical on the COMPUTER is difficult to work with - thin long column on the right rather than in it's own screen. is there a reminders

I recently began using reminders in ical and downloaded the iPhone and iPad app. It works great. However, the reminders in ical on the COMPUTER is difficult to work with - thin long column on the right rather than in it's own screen. is there a reminders app for the COMPUTER that is more user friendly?

    sgreenie,
If you are willing to wait, Apple - OS X Mountain Lion - Inspired by iPad. Made for the Mac explains that a "Reminders" application will be included in the next release of OS X.

  • ICal not syncing to iphone

I'm creating notes in my iCal on my iMac. The changes show fine on
my calendar in my .mac account. But the changes won't show ont the
calendar on my iphone, even though I've selected to show the
    .mac calendars. Help!

Here are a few steps to try.
    1. Turn off .Mac Sync in System Preferences.
    2. Just to be safe, open iCal and back up your calendar. File -> Back up iCal.
    3. In iCal, export all your calendars as file(s). File -> Export.
    4. Delete all your calendars from iCal even subscribed calendars. You will have to create a temp calendar, because ical will not let you delete all calendars
    5. Now that all your calendars are gone, quit ical and reopen. This is just to make sure all calendars, except he temp calendar, are gone.
    6. Now open applications -> isync and reset sync history found in the isync preferences.
    7. After sync history is reset you can quit isync.
    8. Import the calendars you just exported.
    9. Open iTunes sync with iPhone, telling iTunes to replace all ical data on my iPhone . This is found in the advanced section ant the bottom of the info tab page.
    Hope this helps.

  • Sync of iCal to Calendar in iPhone off by 1 hour

This problem has just come up in a 2 week old iPhone 3GS. When I enter new events in iCal and sync with iPhone, the times are one hour later in Calendar. Appears to match the advance in 1 hour of Daylight Savings Time from Nov. - March. So, entering event on Dec. 1 at 8 AM in iCal yields 9 AM event in Calendar. Help!

I had the same problem of a 1 hour offset between events on iCal/MobileMe calendars and the iPhone Cal. iCal and MobileMe calendars were right with respect to each other but the iPhone would show that event as an hour later.
I seem to have solved this issue by the following:
Go to iPhone Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Calendars>Time Zone Support
Change Time Zone Support selector to "OFF" then back to "ON".
    Exit Settings
    NB: NOT Settings>General>Date & Time
My Time Zone Support selector was "on", however Time Zone showed Etc/GMT -4
When I selected Time Zone Support to "off" and then back to "on", Time Zone changed to show "New York" (my local area). Calendar events then displayed the same times as iCal/MobileMe.
