We have installed SCM 7.0 Central instance with Livecache server. Now we have successfully installed additional application server (i.e. Dialog instance) for this SCM 7.0 system.
We need to know
After installation of SCM 7.0 Dialog instance what are the post installation activities?
How we should integrate the livecache server with the Dialog instance which is installed on different hardware.
We need to know how livecache server understand that the additonal application server ? Is there anything to do in LC10?

Thanks for your time.
Since i am installing app server, the SAP<SID> group will have to be online on this node. There is another group containing shared drives for components for livecache. This is also required to be online on node 2 for app server installation.
The only cluster resource I can move back to node 1 is ORACLE<SID>. Tried doing that, but no luck.
Any one here facing similar issue during SCM dialog instance installation in MSCS environment?

OIM Installation - Post Installation Issues

Hi,
I am able to install Oracle Identity Manager (11.1.1.5.0) from OIAM Suite 11g.
The installation is standalone OIM without LDAP sync. After the installation I am able to start the admin server and soa server. But as I start the oim serve, it throws error in deployment of oim application. The stack trace is as follows -

Any resolution on this ? In case the post installation steps are common - why they are not part of the standard installation so that it will not get missed.

OIM generates this key(.xlDataBaseKey) during OIM Installation itself. It seems like for some reason it(.xlDataBaseKey) was nos created <DOMAIN_HOME>/config/fmwconfig/.

Do i need the POST-INSTALLATION configuration for linux+oracle?

hello
i install the oracle10g on redhat9 box,JUST finish the installation,i open the Terminal windows,type Â¨sqlplusÂ¨ command,linux tell me Â¨commnd not foundÂ¨. i guest the installer donÂ´t set the env variable(in windows operating system,the installer automatically set the path variable during the install procedure).
i can SUCCESSFULLY access the browser console of em and isqlplus.
but after i restart the redhat,the browser canÂ´t access both
em and isqlplus(connection reset).when i telnet the 5500 and 5560 port,i found that they havenÂ´t be open.and i suspect that the oracle database havenÂ´t been automatically started.
question 1:how can i MANUALLY start oracle after i restart the linux?
question 2:how can i config the oracle after the install to make it work perminently?or post-install configuration.

Oracle will not start automatically. You have to enter as oracle user and start the listener manually and then the database .
Command are like : lsnrctl start
Then , type svrmgrl ( the server manager console ) , connect internal , and then startup .
Later on you can write scripts for automatic startup of the database and listener .

I have installed Java PDK 6.9 instead of 6.2.
At the post-installation steps I need to:

My question is: When I create this System, which type template should it be and which configuration besides the above aliases should it have?

Yes I did, in my case I've installed PDK SP 9 over SP2 which is prohibited. If this is your case as well do the following:
1) From the Undeployment tab of the SDM select the com.sap.pct.pdk..
components.
2) Using the Archive remover tool which can be accessed from
System Administration > Support > Portal Runtime > Administration
Console > Archive Remover --> Remove the portal applications with prefixcom.sap.pct.pdk...
3) Navigate to Content Administration > Portal content > Content
Provided by SAP > Platform Add-Ons > Developer Content
and remove all the contents below this folder.
4) Restart the server
After this you can deploy the SP9 business package using the SDM.

Basically after the installation,
1. try to stop and start the SAP System
2. you need to check if you can access the SAP System.
3. Apply the permanent SAP license
4. Perform the configuration via IMG; Tcode SPRO(guide in https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/instguides)

System message at the time of login & need post installation

I just install the SAP IDES ECC 5.0 (SQL database), I also running some transaction, but from 2 days i receive the message at the time of logging

Validity of certificate from list with PSE type >system PSE < ends in 1 day. for more information see the SAP system log (transaction SM21)
but i also check the tran. SM21 but i can't find something that indicate what exact erroe and dignosis.
So please suggest me the solution.

XI Post Installation....Need help...

Hi,
I am new to XI and I am installing XI on a Windows 2000 server. I am done with the installation part....(web as ABAP+Java add in + newtweaver XI Component)....Now I am in the post install configuration steps....
My question is that...when I did the install of WEB AS ABAP...I did a local client copy and created client 100 (UCSV Profile)....now I am not sure why I had to create this client 100? Can some one tell me what is the use of this client 100.
Second question is that for the post installation configuration, should I create all the RFC's and SLD Configuration etc in Client 000 or should I do all this post installation configuration in client 100?...

Today I successfully started XI IB. I had two troubles and solutions as follows:
1. In our Co, we have a proxy server, so after installing j2sdk142, I need change the settings of java web start. Open Java WS directly then click cancel until the log in window disappears. Change the proxy settings to what you need.
2. Please assign all the needed roles for XI into your user account. Even if you are an user with the profile of SAP_ALL, you need add the needed roles into your account.

XI Post installation steps

Hi,
I'm trying to get XI going at a project. The basis guys have installed the server but I have an idea none of the 'post installation steps' have been completed.
The symptoms are that when I start the Integration Builder (SXMB_IFR) the Windows 'File Explorer' is started and not IE. The Integration Web page is not displayed.
I quickly looked at the Configuration guide and I see none of the RFC destinations mentioned in the guide.
Is this the reason for the problem ?. I need to know exactly what totell the basis people to look at. They have never done an XI installation before so I'm almost sure they have not done these configuration steps.

Hi Andre,
They should look at the intallation/configuration guides that SAP provides. These guides can be found at the service.sap.com and/or help.sap.com
In a nutshell you have to make sure they have configured:
SLD settings, these involves configuring RFC destinations, Maintain the SLD parameters in SLDAPICUST.
Register, Starting up the queues. Configure the role of the integration server in trx SXMB_ADM or SXMB_ADMIN.

Post Installation Steps for ERP add-on Inventory Manager 4.0

I need to confirm what are the post-installation activities we must to perfom for ERP Add-on (Inventory Manager 4.0), besides de BC Activation. I did not find any information regarding the post installation steps for the ERP Add-on of Inventory Manager 4.0 (the installation guide for IM 4.0 on service marketplace does not remark the steps only explain the theorical part of the installation)... And we need to confirm if the steps are the same of Inventory Manager 3.2 Add-on or we must do an additional step?

Yeah...of course...
I forgot to specify it.
I install the first ERP 2005 SR2 on Oracle 10.2.0.2 and the other have to be installed on the same version of DB.
All installation are not MCOD.
This mean every installation has its own DB with different SID for every installation.
And of course I have at least doubled the space required by installer. Taken from sap notes the required space for ERP 2005 SR2 is about 90 GB.
The total space of mount point is about 500 GB....

Installing EP on NW7.4 SR1 .
After the installation, are there any EP 7,4 specific post steps need to be carried out?
Any template installer needs to be ran?

Can you pls share me what are the post installation steps required after the installation of Solution Manager 7.1
I know some of them as same in ECC
1 ) SICK
2) STMS
3) RZ10 - Profile parmeters
4) SGen
5) Back ground Jobs scheduling
Also tell me which parameters need to be set in solman

Have installed BW 3.5
At end of installation is ask me abt SLD
Im not selecting SLD
send me BW 3.5 Post installation guide and how to configure with R/3 4.7 Server or ECC 5.0 or ECC 6.0
I don't need SAP offical guide, I need word document with step by step picture.
how to check it installed correct

Hi, you cannot use BW3.5 you must have BI7 (not ECC6!) to install BCS 6 - BCS sits on BI (formerly known as BW).
It doesn't matter what version of source system you have, you can still collect data from ERP 4.6, you don't necessarily need ECC6.

Hi Rajiv,
Once DS is installed you need to do few more things to make the system ready to use
Configuring repositories
Create a database for the repository on your database server (take assistance from DBA)
Create the repository in the database with the Repository Manager.
Register the repository in the CMC with the Data Services application(here you have to give database details which you have given for creating repository (refer point a &b)
Assign user access to the repository with the Data Services application.
Configuring users and groups
Log into the CMC Use Admin credentials
Create user accounts and assign them to Data Services user groups with the Users and Groups application.
Assign repository access to your users and groups with the Data Services application
Configuring Job and Access Servers
Add and configure Job Servers with the Server Manager
Add the Job Server configuration
Associate local and profiler repositories with the Job Server
Add and configure Access Servers with the Server Manager
restart the Data Services service and verify that the Job and Access Servers are running
Deploying web applications (BODS automatically installed web app if not you need to manually deploy
Configuring profiler repository connectivity
Login to the Central Management Console (CMC) and register the local repository and select the repository connection type on the Data Services Repository Properties screen
Register the profiler repository and select the connection type to also TNS-less or DSN-less.
