i need solution to append the data coming from different files.
sample file is of format

Data Records
i need to append the data coming from files to single file which consist of single header and data records from all the four files.
Using assign activity to append the Data Record. but not able to force the data to write in the target location
Facing following error..
Record in the below error is data records. i can view all the appended data put variable.but facing following error Element 'Record' not expected.

ya i am reading the data and writing the data with the same format..
but i need to append data from different files..eliminating the header from second file..
i am invoking the write adapter out of the while loop..
this seems some problem while writing..its looking for data records still..

Append the data in file at receiver side

Hi All,
I want dump the data frm SAP tables. the data is hughe so we are sending the data in slots from ECC like 50K recoerds at a time and after that to collect that i using the append parameter at file receiver side and records are getting appended in file only that is correct
but my one doubt is
let say monday the records get append into file at receiver side and on tuesday again the records will get appended in same file....it will be problem for this i used create parameter with overrite my question if i am using create then we can not use append ........
please suggest...........

Append will work like this..
if there is no file ..create the file and if file already exists then appends the data to the existing file..
in your case when you create the file with day i.e file_day ..first time when you send 50K records file will get created..
if you send another 50k in the same then will get appended to the same...
in case if you send the another 50K set another day..then a new file will get create as there is no file available with taht file name
i.e filename_nextday...

For this you will need a nested internal table. such that each column of the internal table should be declared as another internal table.
Try something like this :

Because you said that in a loop you intend to call a function which will return a internal table and this internal table you need to store in a column of another internal table. And if this is not fixed, you would need to do some dynamic programming to achieve this.
But if we assume that there are fixed number of columns and fixed number of loops, then within the loop, you wiill have to simply move the data from the returned table to each of the columns. Then append the work area outside the loop.

How to filter the data in different sections (e.g. Report Footers)?

Hi,
I am using Crystal Reports 11 to generate cross-tables.
I plan to generate 3 cross-tabs, and each cross-table will be put in a section. For example, cross-tab1 in Report Footer a; cross-tab2 in Report Footer b; cross-tab3 in Report Footer c.
I know use "Select Expert" to filter data. But, it seems that "Select Expert" filters data for the whole report.
I want to filter the data for each cross-table separately. For example, filter cross-tab1 based on condition1; filter cross-tab2 based on condition2; filter cross-tab3 based on condition3.
How to filter the data in different sections (e.g. Report Footers)?

Hi,
Now that you've inserted the subreport just right-click the sub-report and click Edit. The Design page for sub-report should open up.
You can now insert the cross-tab on the Report Header and insert a record selection formula of your choice.
Also, suppress all the other sections of the subreport so the Main report only shows the crosstab without any spaces.
Do the same for all the subreports.

Could any body suggest how to get the values from the external file(Excel,CSV file,Text file) and pass it as varaiable in ecatt Test script.
Problem: Need to execute FK01-Vendor creation Transaction with multiple set of data .As per my understanding we could achive through Variants in Testdata set in eCatt .
But is there any way to store the data in excell file and get the data and pass it to FK01 Test scripts

Your syntax is wrong - look at the post above where this syntax is given:
to_char (add_months(r.formdate,12), 'MM/DD/YYYY') "formdate2"Look at the formula from a logical perspective - "inside out" to read what is happening -
take formdate, add 12 months
add_months(r.formdate, 12)then apply the to_char format mask - basic syntax
to_char(date, 'MM/DD/YYYY')Compare to your syntax:
to_char(add_months(r.formdate, 'MM/DD/YYYY'),12) "formdate2"You will see your format string inside the call to add_months, and your 12 inside the call to to_char.

Create the transformation for each target and connect through DTP if you are in BI 7.0
If it is BW 3.5 create transfer rules and load it Info source and then different update rules for different targets then load it using IP.
If you are speaking about loading data from R3 data source to multiple data sources in BI
Then follow the below step.
1)create init IP's and run the IP's with different selection to different DSO(With same selection it is not possible).
2)Then you will have different delta queues for the same data source in RSA7
3)Your delta loads will run fine to different data sources from same DS in R3.

Writing the datas from 2 files into 3rd File?

I am reading datas from 2 files Say,
Example1.txt
Ashok
Babu
Chenthil
Danny
Example2 .txt
^data1^data2^data3
^data1^data2^data3
^data1^data2^data3

I want those data's to be written in a 3rd file. Say,
Example3.txt
Ashok^ data1^data2^data3
Babu^ data1^data2^data3
Chenthil^ data1^data2^data3
Danny^ data1^data2^data3
So that i can tokenize it with a delimeter(^) and get the values. Here how to append the datas in this form in Example3.txt. Eventhough u use FileWriter with append "true" as a parameter how they will apend like the Example3.txt file? Please do provide an answer for this..Since this is very urgent to be delivered...Expecting postive response.

open the outputfile, open both input files (all three, of course, as their own stream, obviously, but I thought I might need to say this), first. Read a line from each inputfile, and write both of them together, to the outputfile, and repeat.
Is there something you don't understand there?

I need to delete the all the data from logical file (application server file/unix file).But I dont want to delete the logical file ( only data in the logical file should be deleted, i.e making file empty)
