Need to Add Help links to ESS pages

Hello,
I have a requirement to add helps links to ESS services like address etc.
The services have the roadmap element. Is it possible to add the link besides the roadmap element and right aligned?
Which component should the link be added to?
Is it possible that all the personal info services will have the link pointing to respective URLs?
I figured that I might have to change the sap.compcui_gpxssutils DC. Am I right?
But here I face a problem, that the DC is not modifiable in the DTR.
Please let me know your suggestions.

Hi,
In Homepage Framework for ESS, there is a help service with every service. Check if this will help you.
You can create a service as a help service. EIC_SERVICE_REQUEST is an example of help service provided by SAP. Then you can configure this help service to any service you want. This way you can provide access to help informationm without changing the code.
To create your own help service, you can upload the help documents(say HTML) in portal KM repository. Create a KM document iView for the document. Create a page out of the iView and configure the PCD path of the page in the Hompageframework service.

Need to add a link to the masthead area of the Portal

Hi
I need to add a link to the masthead area of the portal. That link needs to be able to print the content of the current page.
Ihave downloaded the com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead into the NWDS.
Can anybody please let me know where exactly to modify the code.
i am guessing i may need to use window.print() to print the page.

Step 1: Adding new link in the masthead
1. Rename the par file to your own namespace and import the PAR using eclipse
2. To add your link - modify HeaderiView.jsp appropriately
3. Build the PAR and export using Eclipse
Step 2: Create an iView
1. Content Administrator -> Portal Content -> Select the folder in which you need to create the masthead iView. Right click on the selected folder and "Select New From PAR" -> iView
2. Select the PAR file name created by you in Step 1 a
3. Choose "default" in Portal Component Selection
4. Provide the properties for the iView and save
Step 3: Modify Portal Masthead
1. Add the iView created in Step 2 to the Framework Page of your application
2. Remove the existing Masthead iView from the framework page and add iView created in Step 2 in the framework page.
3. Note that the position should be the same where the previous masthead is removed.
Logoff and logon with the user who is assigned the framework page - you should be able to see the new masthead with links
Incase you are changing the default framework page and default masthead ensure that you have a backup so that you can revert.

Need to add a link on Page title bar

When i click on that link, it should open a page in a separate window.

Removal of Quit and Help link from ESS Screen

Hi ,
How to Remove Quit and Help link ,which is appeared on the top of the page in all the ESS Iviews .?
If we go for modifying int service files in SE80 ,say for example PZ28 ..there is no service file atall.
How this serive is capturing the HTML template ?

Hello,
I've done this previously. You need to edit the templatelibrarybasis.html file that is on the ITS AGate instance. It's on the AGate under c:\program files\sap\its\6.20\DEV\templates\system\dm\templatelibrarybasis.html. Take out or comment out the help/edit references.
This is modifying SAP code, so after each patch you will need to remodify the file. Let me know if you have further questions.

How to add new links to a page

In Sharepoint 2013 Server can you create:
A Link in the left navigtion bar or Quick Launch
when clicked it can open a new page and on that page there is an “Add New” type of
button.
Then on that page you can add as many links as the page will allow, each
of those links can contain a url

To add a new link on the left nav:
You can go to site settings> navigation> add a link under "current navigation".
For the second requirement:
You can create a "links" list and add it to that second page. This way you can have that "Add Links" option and add links.

How to add a link to another page

Hello,
I am new to Adobe Designer 7.0, I'm liking it so far, I had a question though, I was wondering how I could make a link from one page to another. For instance, I want to have a table of contents and I want the user to be able to click on the word whatever that may be and for it to go to the page which they chose.

Mac, the best way to do this is use a Button and change it to look like a hyperlink (color, etc.). Add a setFocus JavaScript on the Click event to a field on the page you want it to go to; e.g.,
xfa.host.setFocus("Page3.TextField1");
If there is not a field on the page, make a hidden field for it to jump to.

I need to create a link on a page, while hiding it from the options

I am making a website for my work, which is a glass company. The options at the top to click on will be home, commercial, residential, and contact us. When you click on residential i would like to have links for windows, shower doors, ect. I want to be able to click on windows and it go to another page to show information about them, the same thing with shower doors, ect. but i don't want thoes titles to be at the top of the page. Is this possible.

What you're referring to is a drop down menu. Those can't be created normally in iWeb. They can be added to a iWeb page but require an HTML snippet and javascript. Some possible javascript solutions have been posted in this forum. Search for drop down menu. Also do a Google search for drop down menu to get a number of sites with possible solutions.
Or, you can create a separate Residential page and put photos of windows, shower doors, etc. on it and use them as links to the pages for the windows, shower doors. Those pages don't have to be included in the navbar. You can turn it off in the Inspector/Page/Page pane.

Need to put help document on home page.

Hi All..... in my project several users are not trained on oracle HRMS as to how to use the selfservice due to being on leave. I have prepared a document with screenshots on how to use the functions. I want to put this document in home page.
So when user logs in can see this document. Is there any way to place a document on the self service pages through personbalization. Users shoud be able to see it for reference.

One way of doing is to create the Item with item type as "Spacer" in the Home Page personalization screen.Then attach this item and you can give the link of your document in the Text column of this item . You need to put the document on some location which can be accessed by every one.

Hi Sunny,
Only message ID/internet ID will be visible to the end user from a client. Only users with access to Beehive Middle Tier or database can get the message EID. If you are looking for the EID for a particular message then raise a service request with the helpdesk.

Add Podcast link to HTML page

I want to put a link to my podcast on a regular HTML page. I want my users to be able to click it and have the link redirect to iTunes on their computer and have it download there. How do I do that?

I figured it out. I neglected to say that the podcast was from iWeb.

Help : Link to open page only refreshing center column

Hye guys, im currently working with webcenter portal. My template have 3 column, left, center and right. I want to put one link in the right column to open a page without refreshing whole page. I want the page content only refreshing the center column.
Currently i'm doing like below, but when click the link, whole page will refresh and then the page appear.

Thank you for the reply. I still dont know how to implement ppr in my case. From what i search, many of the samples show ppr being done in 2 component within the same page. Component 1 send form to update data in component 2. But in my case, it is between different page.
