Thanks S.Nithyanandham

Hi,
Can you please confirm your requirement,
When you create a new user account in AD, based on the user's property like Department, Job or Location, the user need to be added to your specific AD groups?

  • Automatically create users in SharePoint based on Active Directory OU

    Hi,
This is one of our client's requirements.
Is it possible to automatically create a user in SharePoint and assign him/her read privileges on the portal when ever a new user is created in Active Directory?
To re-iterate the above question in a different way; when a new employee joins the organization, a user is created in the Active Directory OU. Is it possible to automatically create this user in SharePoint without any manual intervention?
If yes, how? Is it a third party synchronization tool or does SharePoint has a sync feature / service?
    Thank you,

    Hi,
user profile synchronization is responsible for that, once user are created in active directory you have syn service running on certain schedule and all users are grabbed the only left step is to either grant permission on SharePointor you have a generic
access to grant to all authenticated users or certain active directory groups that the user is assigned to

  • Newly created user accounts can't log in??

I've got a 5 year old who is starting to use my computer for game playing, typing notes, and simple web stuff.
I want to set up a user account for him with parental controls so he can't randomly rename, delete, or change things.
I've followed the directions, set up a user account, given it a password... logged off my admin account ...
and when I click on his login picture, it brings up the password window, and when I input the password, it just gives a little shake, clears the password line, and lets me try again.
I've deleted that account and created a new one without parental controls. I've tried having NO password in the password line. I've tried making sure the short names for the accounts I'm creating are exactly 8 characters. I've turned off Norton antivirus. Nothing works - I cannot log in with any newly created account??
    What else can I try?

    Sara
Well you probably don't need to be told the NetInfo database is in a bit of a mess, but the significant thing is the "No such file or directory" from the last two commands. Basically this is where passwords are stored (encrypted) since the system changed to "Shadow Hash" passwords in 10.3.
Your account seems to be OK since it predates this change, and when you installed new system versions you chose the "Upgrade" option which left your settings alone. This is why your primary group is 'staff', or 20, whereas for Will it is creating a group 'will', or 502. That bit appears to be working, just not the passwords. Your password still works because it is in the old 'passwd' file (in encrypted form).
By far the best thing, at this stage, would be to do an Erase and Install, but this depends on you having a complete and up to date backup of all your files. See Mac OS X 10.4: About installation options. Alternatively you might try an Archive & Install, see Mac OS X : About the Archive and Install Feature, probably not choosing the "Preserve Users and Network Settings" option. But note this requires you to backup a lot of your data, and then re-enter settings and so on.
If you have a backup, the Migration Assistant can help you get your files back in place.
If it were my machine of course, I would probably carry on a bit longer trying to fix things, but the appearance of "#NoValue#" twice in the NetInfo output suggests some serious inconsistency which would be difficult to fix.
Let us know how you get on, and Good Luck!

  • Can't Login to Newly Created User Accounts

I have 4 user accounts on my G4 quicksilver running 10.4.11. Recently I tried to create a new account and found that once created (with a password) I can't log in to it - the login window shakes when I enter the password as if it was incorrect. The same holds true even if I don't set a password to a new accoun - it simply will not log in. I've tried repairing disk permissions and the same in Safe mode. I ran my brand new TechTool Pro 5, but that doesn't find any problems. Also repaired the keychain for each of the 4 useable accounts. But whatever I do, I can't create a new account and get it to log in.
Now completely stumped, so any ideas welcome.

The login passwords are in the netinfo database. I am not sure what is going on. You can rebuild the netinfo database but with multiple IDs it gets difficult. You have to recreate the user IDs and the same order as you had them before then you have to adjust where the data is.
another approach... You could try changing the password from the command line.
you need to be log on from an administrator account.
    Macintosh-HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
    # To find out the users on the system type, use the list command. The l is a lower case L:
    ls /Users
    # Pick one of the users which I'll call a-user-name and type it in this command:
    sudo passwd a-user-name
Enter your administrator account password. It will not appear. Press enter when done.
    # and enter the new user password. You need six characters.
    # You will need to enter your password twice. Your typing will not show up on the screen just
    # press enter when you complete the typing.
    # For cryptic information on these commands try:
    man ls
    man passwd

  • How do I access iTunes library in newly-created user accounts???

I have created some new user accounts for my kids. When I log into one of their accounts and open iTunes, there is no music in the library. I'm sure there is a way to access the iTunes music library for my kid's user accounts, but I can't figure it out. Any help is greatly appreciated.

iTunes has no multi-user library so you have to find some other way.
There are two methods to make your music accessible for other users.
I think the safest way is to share your music (library or selected playlists) with your kid's accounts. They can listen to it, but not mess around with your library.
    Enable fast user switching:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh1787.html
In your account enable sharing your iTunes Library:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=165212
(It's for iTunes 4.7, but still valid for higher versions)
In your kid's accounts tick the checkbox 'Look for shared music' in Preferences>Sharing in iTunes.
The drawback of the described setup is, that your account has to be activated and iTunes must be running. Some items can't be shared.
The advantage is, that other users can't mess things up.
The other method is by moving your music to a public folder. The advantage is, that all users can access the library at any time.
The greatest disadvange is, that every user can mess things up.
    This method is described here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93195
The second paragraph in this article contains the links I gave above.
    Hope this helps.

  • Password denied on newly created user accounts

I have an admin account on my Mac with no problems. However if I add additional accounts, no matter the name/password, it denies the password when I try to log in with those new accounts. Yet the original admin account is fine. I've tried changing the password, deleting and recreating the accounts, as well as setting the new accounts as an admin. I had thought about keychain firstaid, but it does little good if it won't accept the password to begin with. Any ideas? I couldn't find anyone else with this problem.

..."I was unable to get any response from terminal."...
Nothing at all? That's unusual. There should be some sort of ouput if the user exists, and an error message if it doesn't. An invalid command would put out usage notes. I'm not sure what would cause a '-read' to fail silently.
Using a different approach, try launching "/Applications" > "Utilities" > "NetInfo Manager.app", and navigate through "/" > "Users" in the top panel, and look in the right-most column for the name of the new user. Compare what is displayed in the bottom panel when the new user is selected, to what is displayed when a working user is selected. Some values will obviously be different, but look to see if there are any missing properties or values.

  • Suspect Adobe ARM creating user account

    Hello
I was helping a user with a problem about 2 days ago. The problem is that everytime Windows reboots the netbook shows a newly created User Account called icsokern.
The user has a Samsung netbook, Windows 7 Starter & Service Pack 1 as well as ESET AV.
Trying to delete the account doesn't make any difference as the account is recreated after a reboot. However, securing the account I put in a password as well as changed the login time access to 0. When I try to change the applications that the user account can access I see only Adobe ARM as ticked. No other application is ticked. This leads me to believe that Adobe ARM could be creating this account, but there is no logical explanation why?
Checking for a malware reveals no alerts. No quarantined files and Windows' Event Viewer shows no alerts regarding system or application errors.
Having said the above I decided to ask on the Adobe forum to see if anyone else has had this experience and if so what did they do to fix this?
    w

Latest Adobe ARM installs task in the Windows Task Scheduler.
If you see this task, can you try to disable it and check if new User account gets created?
If new account no longer created after task is disabled, you can conclude that Task Scheduler does it for some reason, which will need to be investigated.

  • Access Denied creating user accounts through vba

    Hello,
I have a MS-Access application that runs on a Windows 2012 server. My customer logs into the server using RDP. The MS-Access application is started up automatically by means of the environment variable in the user settings. The customer needs to be able
to create new windows users for this application, simply by clicking a button.
The VBA script to create users works, because when I start up the MS-Access application with my own logged on Administrators account, the new users get created. If my customer tries it, he gets 'Access Denied' error. I have added his user account to
the Power Users group, but that did not solve the problem. I also tried to make him member of the DCOM Users Group, the 'Access Denied' error remains...
I do not want to give him administrator priviliges, because he is 'just a customer'...
What do I need to do for this setup to work? I tried altering some DCom settings, but frankly I do not have enough knowledge to feel comfortable with this. Hope anybody can help me out here...
    best regards, Rob

Is this a standalone server? Only administrators can create user accounts, so there is no work around for that. You could look at something that has the administrator account/password stored and launch PSEXEC or something else in an elevated session behind
the scenes but that is a security volunerability because the credentials are stored.
If the account is being created in an Active Directory environment you could delegate permissions to the appropriate OU for your customer.

  • Creating User Accounts So I Can Set Parental Controls?

My nine year old son loves to use YouTube to watch video game videos and apparently there are NO parental controls or any kind of filters on YouTube. The majority of the ones he finds are ok but there's about 15% that are just plain shocking even to me. Its pretty sad the things that people put up there. I hate to have him never be able to get online again so I want to set some sort of filter where I can block content according to keyword but I just cant figure it out at all. So I tried to set controls over the whole MacBook but it tells me that as administrator I cannot. I cant figure out how to create non-admin users though. Searched all the forums and guides, etc. but no answer.
Thanks, so in summary, I just want to know how to create user accounts if thats the right term.
I am using a MacBook, running Mac OSX version 10.4.11.

    Hi
Apple menu (top left hand corner) > System Preferences > Accounts. Click the lock to authenticate. Just above the lock are two icons; a 'plus' and 'minus'. Click the 'plus' icon. Enter the name of your son, tab down into the next field and that should autofill for you with the information you placed in the name field; tab down again and enter a password; tab again to key in the password again; don't tick the box that says "allow user to administer this computer"; click 'Create Account'. You should be prompted with a window asking if you want to leave automatic login on or if you want to turn it off - turn it off. You'll see why later on. What you should see after this has finished is in the left hand window at the top your account details with your name and underneath it should 'Admin' and below your account details will be your son's. Underneath his name it should say 'Standard'.
Click on his name to select it and now click on the Parental Controls tab on the right hand side of that window. You should now have the option to enable and configure control for the 5 applications listed there: Mail, Finder & System, iChat, Safari and Dictionary. Explore and configure to your hearts content from there. When you are happy quit out of System Preferences and select Log out from the Apple Menu. You should now be presented with the Login Window displaying not only your account but also the newly created one for your son. Log in s your son and test to see if what you've set as a control has worked. Keep going backwards and forwards between the two accounts until you are happy.
Bear in mind there is only so much you can do.
It's virtually impossible to block everything potentially morally harmful without basically stopping your son from having any access at all. You could look at supplementing Parental Controls with the built-in filters in your router - if you have one? If you don't then consider getting one. I'm struggling to think of a router for residential use that does not have some sort of built-in web filter?
The tab button is the key immediately to the left of the 'Q' key. It will have an arrow going from left to right printed on it.

  • Authorization newly created user

    hi experts,
can any body explain, what infotype/authorization will be required for newly created user of HCM.

    Hi Waq,
Infotype access can be given based on client requirement. What ever infotype they will be using for their requirement you can add under role. Role can be created via Tcode PFCG. There are 2 objects named P_ORGIN & P_ORGXX can be used for giving infotype access under firld INFTY.
Then creaed role can be assigned to user via Tcode SU01.
If you want to give Tocde access, then authorization object P_Tocde & S_Tcode can be used.

  • Create user account on TARGET Golden Gate

Can I create a independent user account on Golden Gate Target ?. This is like we do on a logical standby server.
the user account in question does not exist in the source.
If yes, what are the steps invloved if any that is not normally followed.

Let me rephrase my question :
I have an GG set up between a AIX server ( source) and Linux server ( Target). Currently it is functioning and replication is upto date. I want to create a separate user account on the TARGET. This user account does NOT exist on the SOURCE. Is this possible ?
In other words in a logical standby env, we are allowed to create addition user accoints that are not part of the primary database. Those accounts will have their own objects such as tables, views etc.

  • Create User Account Using Terminal in OSX 10.9.5

I am working on creating a shell script to create a specific user on all Mac computers at work. I have run the following commands in Terminal with no luck:
    dscl . create /Users/myuser
dscl . create /Users/myuser RealName "My User"
    dscl . passwd /Users/myuser UsersPW
    dscl . create /Users/myuser UniqueID 561
    dscl . create /Users/myuser PrimaryGroupID 1000
    dscl . create /Users/myuser NFSHomeDirectory /Users/administrator
    dscl . create /Users/myuser UserShell /bin/bash
dscl . append /Groups/admin GroupMembership administrator
I have seen in the discussions that running these commands has enabled some to log in using the user account they created - they just can't see the user account in the Users list in Sys Prefs. I can't see my user account, log into my computer with it, or see a user folder at /Users/myuser. I AM able to see the user after running the dscl command and cd Local/Users/myuser - but with an ls that directory is empty. What am I missing?
In terminal I am using the root user. I've tried logging in with sudo su and sudo -s. All commands run, but no account is created.
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't really understand your reply, but since asking my question I realized that if, rather than choose 'New Image' inside the Disk Utility window, I use the menu bar at the top of the screen, and select File > New > Blank Disk Image,  then I get the choices I hoped for. It's all in looking in the right place, I guess, but I do wonder why those choices are not available when you choose 'New Image' within the Disk Utility window. Oh well.

  • Creating user accounts with OIDDAS and use them from the OS

    Hi,
I have a customer that is experiencing an error creating user accounts from OIDDAS, and use that user accounts from the operating system.

    Hi Jacco,
I didn't see your post before.
Nop, unfortulately I don't have a document with that. I just received that answer
from development (related to the plugin for AD that is not certified, and DAS is
not intended to work with OAS4OS).
Anyway, about the plugin to work with AD, this is working for me; at least I tested
it by configuring the plugin, I configured synchronization, the mapping file, I did
the bootstrap, and the accounts that were bootstraped now shows the OS attributes
    on DAS.
