Need to deactivate Premiere on a computer

Hello,
I had Adobe Premiere CS3 installed and activated on two computers. I mainly used one computer and forgot about it being installed on the second one. I then tried to install it on a new computer that I just purchased but the activation failed because it was already activated on the two previous ones.
So I uninstalled Premiere on one of the two older computers but didn't de-activate it (I thought that would happen when I did the uninstall). So now I still can't install it on my new computer because it still says I have too many activations. Apparently it never got de-activated when I did the uninstall.
So how do I de-activate my other computer's copy (which it's no longer installed)?
Thanks.
Mike

OK, you have three computers, A, B & C. You had PrPro installed and Activated on A & B. You wanted to install and Activate it on computer C, but can only have two instances of that one license Activated.
You uninstalled, without de-Activation on computer A, but still have it (where you want it) on computer B. Without the de-Activation of computer A's license, you still cannot install and Activate on compuer C.
The course of action would be to reinstall it on computer A, and confirm the Activation, which still shows on that computer and on Adobe's records. Once done, de-Activate it officially and then uninstall it. This frees up one instance of that license. Once done, install on computer C and Activate the now remaining license. Yes, it's an extra reinstall, check Activation, de-Activate and uninstall, but that is the only way around it, unless TS can de-Activate the license on computer A, without reinstalling. Only they can help you there.
Personally, I'd just bite-the-bullet and do the reinsatall, de-Activate, uninstall.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Need to deactivate Premiere Elements 10?

I got a new laptop and downloaded my Photoshop and Premiere Elements 10. However, I got a message when I opened Premiere telling me that I needed to deactivate it on another computer. But I can't figure out how to deactivate!
Also, I'm not sure if it's connected with my needing to deactivate or if it's just the computer, but I can't use any of the links on the Premiere menu on the old laptop, and I can't log in to my Adobe ID on either.
    Can someone help me out?
PS: If it matters any, my new laptop is running on Windows 8 and the old one is 7.

Adobe permits you to use your Premiere Elements 10 purchased serial number on only 2 of your computers. If you want to put that serial number on a 3rd computer then you have to "Deactivate" the installation on computer 1 or 2 to get this Premiere Elements 10 purchased serial number on computer 3.
By the message that you are getting on computer 3, you are telling us that your Premiere Elements 10 is on more than 2 of your computers already (computer 1 and 2) and you want to install it on another (the 3rd computer).
So, where do you have Premiere Elements 10 installed?
Go to one of those Premiere Elements 10 computer setups. Open Premiere Elements 10 to its workspace. Go to Help Menu/Deactivate and click on Deactivate to do just that. Close out of there. At this point, you can
    a. leave the program installed but deactivated on computer 1 or 2 as the case may be
    or
    b. uninstall it from computer 1 or 2 as the case mya be.
Please review and let us know if the above is clear and works for you.
    Thanks.

  • Do I need to deactivate Premiere Elements 7 on Vista in order to upgrade to Win7?

    Hi there.
I have a quick question. I bought Premiere Elements 7 last month and here is the situation.
I will be installing it on my laptop. That part is fine.
I just bought a Dell desktop computer and would like to install it on there as well. BUT, when Windows 7 comes out, I plan to upgrade to that from Vista. So I would like to install on the desktop for Vista, and then on Windows 7.
My question:  Is there an activation? How would I do that? Just install the program and then the activation code (is it verified online)? And when I upgrade to Windows 7, I 'deactivate' it or something?
    Thanks,
    Ronald

You can activate this software on 2 computers but cannot use the software on both the systems at the same time.
You can activate a product in maximum two computers. Hence, in order to activate a product on third computer, first you need to deactivate the software in the previous computer.

I'm changing my second computer; With CS6, do I need to deactivate each app, or just the suite?

Hi HRHundt2, if you have suite installed, then if you try deactivating any application will eventually deactivate complete suite.

  • Error starting Acrobat X Pro: ...You need to deactivate another computer within 32767 days to use

The serial number xxxxxxx...  is already in use by the maximum allowed computers. You need to deactivate another computer within 32767 days to use this product.
Installed CS6 Design Std (which included Acro X Pro) from DVD.  All the apps work except for Acrobat, which gives the above error.  The s/n in the error is different from the s/n used for installing Design Std.  Per support, fully uninstalled Design Std and any other Acrobat related s/w, then ran a "cleaner" that they provided.  Reinstalled CS6 Design Std from DVD ... same problem.  Already wasted over 4 hours on Adobe support chat.
    Thanks.

This suggestion from Adobe Tech Support did NOT work either...
Thank you for contacting Adobe Technical Support.
I understand that you are unable to activate Acrobat X Pro.
From the error message it seems like Acrobat is taking the standalone serial number and not from the suite.
Have you tried uninstalling only Acrobat and reinstall it from the CS6 suite? If not, then please perform uninstall Acrobat and reinstall it as trial.
Once the reinstallation is completed, first launch a product from CS6 like Photoshop and then launch Acrobat X and check if it works.

  • I will be re-imaging my computer onto a new drive - do I need to deactivate?

Hi, due to some font issues and crashing in Photoshop that I cannot fix, I will need to reformat my computer and completely re-install Windows 7, and Master Collection CS5.
Do I need to deactivate my CS5.5 before swapping out the drives and re-imaging? Or will it recognize the serial number of my computer and know that this is not a new install, just a replacement of the old one?
    Thanks in advance.
    Tom

Formatting of any kind erases activation info and different drive mapping invalidates it, also. So deactivate. Better safe than sorry.

My motherboard went out and I got a new computer and I need to deactivate Pro X from the old system and activate it on the new system.  How is this done?

    Hi David ,
If it is a retail version ,then you need to deactivate it and uninstall it as well from your old computer and then you can install it back on the new computer.
If it a subscription based software ,then you just need to deactivate it and you can operate the same on your new computer by entering in your credentials .

  • Hello, I need to deactivate my Adobe product that is installed on a computer that "Broke" and reinstall it on my new laptop.  Redownload and reactivate it.??

Hello, I bought and installed Adobe Acrobat Pro on a laptop.  Since windows crashed and as it was a single user license, I need to deactivate it and redownload it onto my new laptop.
    Any pointers?
    Thanks,

A single user license provides for having it installed and activated on two machines.
If you are unable to deactivate on the broken machine then you need to contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations.  If you do this before installing and activating on the new machine you can save yourself the problem of reactivating it.

  • Need to deactivate elements

i need to deactivate Premire Elements to reinstall on second computer.... don't see where the deactive tab is

    danschnarr
What version of Premiere Elements do you have and on what computer operating system is it running.
Typically, for more recent versions, you would go to the opened project and Help Menu/Deactivate. Close out of the project. And, then you would uninstall via the classical Control Panel route.
You might also find a deactivate option to check in the course of the uninstall. But I would make sure to do the one in the opened project nonetheless as well as any deactivate in the uninstall dialogs.
Please let us know if the above answered your question.
You are allowed the same purchased serial number on two of your computers. So, I would ask, are you talking about a second computer here or a third?
