Need to upload material master.

Hi experts,
I am periodically required to change values in some fields from MRP 1,2,3 and 4 views. It takes hell of a time as there are many material codes..nearly 500 every month.
My question is is there any other quick input method like creating an excel file for that data and upload it?
I remember in mylast company for uploading material master the consultants provided us with that kind of query/data run.

Dear ,
You need to run BDC in Back ground for uploading Material Master parametrs or new material creation .It can be Batch process.
Or Goto T-code MM17 mass change check tables there, and retreive data one by one from se16, then merge your file. or develop report detailed report for this then download.

    Try u r self writing the code.If u struck any where just post the question.
    There wil be many threads regrading material master data.
    Give ur bapi BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA and search in the forum then u will get so many threads.

  • Upload Material Master to non SAP Catalog

    Hi Guys,
    we are trying to create a process to upload Material Master and/or Purchasing Info Recordes data directly from the backend into an non-SAP catalog. So far I only know about report BBP_CCM_CATALOG_TRANSFER, that uploads replicated material master from SRM into CCM or MDM Catalog.
    Are there reports available in the backend  (ECC6 EhP3) or in SRM 700 that could extract the data from Material Master and Purchasing Info Records into a format (XML;CSV,..) that could be used to upload these data into a catalog manually or via PI.
    Any hints are welcome!

  • Upload Material master with long text using LSMW

    Hello,
    i want ot upload material master data via MM01 using LSMW in following views: basic data 1 ,2,  purchasing, purchase order text, plant data 1,2.
    i have to upload long text in purchase order text with length more then 132 char. (approx 700 char long text). and i have text file in which long text is maintained in a single row. then how can i do it without formating text file or anyother possible solution.
    please help.

  • LSMW - RMDATIND Upload material master

    Hi All,
    I'm using LSMW direct input method (RMDATIND) to upload material master. However, I'm having issues on uploading material prices (eg: moving average price) where the format uploaded was incorrect.
    LSWM Data Source I've declared for VERPR (Moving Average Price) is character with 14 Length size. Values populated in upload file is eg: 132.93.
    The value been created in material master is-> 13  293,00.
    Can anyone advise on this issues? Is there any wrong to input value or data source declaration? Thanks.

    I certainly do not use SCAT or SECATT to load master data, especially not material master.
    A material master has  dynamic screens, based on the material type the view selection will be different, based on entries made in MRP view fields become hidden or mandatory. Such things canot be done with a static recording.
    SAP provides batch input programs and BAPIs for material master load and additonally loading per IDOC in LSMW (which offers as well batch input and Bapi methods)

    Check first with one record you are able to create the material Manually by using tcode MM01.
    Or Rerun the batch Input in Foreground mode so that you can see the error or whether Materila no is created
    I do not think so any test mode in Batch Input session.
    Check the Log in SM35 for your session if you have any error messages.

  • Upload Material Master

    Dear all,
    I´m trying to upload the material master form R3. I´m able to import all the materials that do not have the "Sales 1 view".
    But unfortunately, I can not upload materials with this view.
    When trying to replicate a material with Sales 1 view, If I go to trx SMQ2 in SRM I can see that the Queue has status SYSFAIL.
    So, I go to trx. SMW01 we discovered that the BDOC message has status F05 (information not processing). We discovered SRM_PRODUCT_SALES038 error and its description is "Allocation of the tax for country AR, sequence 1, value 0 not possible".
    Does anyone knows how can I solve this issue? We don´t have to perform taxes calculations in SRM, but we can not transfer these materials....

    PS: we are not using SD in R3 but we have the Sales 1 View since we need it for PO "UB". In this view we have the following entry for all materials:
    AR     Argentina     MWST     Output Tax     0     No tax

          In LSMW there are four method to migrate data.Idoc is one such method.You need to define three thing message type,
    Basic type,enhancement and a check box for enable structure for EDI.Once you complete this ,it ready to transfer.Before that you need to go through 12 basic steps.

    It has the following Options:
    1. Direct Input
    2. Batch Input
    3. BAPI
    4. IDOC

    1. Fetch the data (Download from Desktop or Read from Application Sever).
    2. Massage Data as per SAP Format.
    3. Validate data (Move invalid data to internal table so that you can display the same)
    4. Pass valid data
    5. Move error data to internal table
    If you are using BAPI the error records would be moved to BAPIRET2 or BPIRETURN.
    If you are using BDC:
    a. Session Method : You would need to process the session. Messages can be displayed with session analysis.
    b. Call Transaction : You would need to populate the error messages by using a table with structure BDCMSGCOLL.
    You could also develop a custom program using BDC or BAPI.

    Sorry for my obvious answer, but you should ask a more precise question.
    Your errors are that you try to enter fields but they don't exist, so it sounds logic.
    And the error "Enter Valuation class." means that the field is mandatory. So you must enter it.
    Re-record the transaction using SHDB (eventually play with the http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/Recordduringplay), run it in A display mode, and correct your program.

  • Problem in uploading material master data using BDC?

    I am using  BDC call transaction method to upload material data. Here i am facing a problem that a value in the flat file is going to the wrong screen field . But my recording done properly.
    In recording, after entering the data in the view BASIC DATA1 and trying to enter the text . For this i need to scroll down the scroll bar and after that i am clicking on basic data text and entering the text. Here i am not touching the languge field.
    But the problem is the text to be entered into the basic data text is storing in language and giving error.
    Please help me by specifying the reason and solution for this problem? Whether i did any mistake in recording in scrolling?
