  • Java API for Error Handling

There are some common error tables storing error IDs information ( IDs like error type, project id, interface id, message id etc.) in Operational Database (is not on source or target system) which we have to update using java API. We need to call java API (java code) whenever error occurs. We have to provide all the IDs to this function and then API will take care of DB updating. We can call java API in mapping program by creating user-defined java function, this will trap all the errors which are in source file as well as in mapping and mapping lookup. Query is:
A-      A- Do we have any other place after the mapping to call this java API and trap the errors through it?
B-      Can we call Java API using BPM and pass error IDs to it.

    Hi Anand,
You Have to write Module For that(if you wanna call Java API after Mapping)at the receiver.
To write Module Here is a link which will help you in.....

  • Extracting specific detial about class from the JAVA API created by Javadoc

    hi ,
Bacialy I need to get detials of all classes from the Java packages for my project. So i thought getting detials from the Java API document might be one way of doing it. If any one tell me some package or software which can get particulat text from the API document that will be great.
    Thank you,
    Raj

    Hi,
I think, much easier way would be to write a little doclet. That doclet would take the information you need directly from the Doclet API and generate by it a plain text with the content you wish (for instance, as an SQL script that loads everything into a certain database).
Obtaining this from the generated HTML documentation just adds one extra step (and a lot more complicated, by the way).
Also, you can avoid even writing a doclet.
There is a tool called DocFlex/Javadoc:
    http://www.filigris.com/products/docflex_javadoc/
It is a template-driven doclet, which can be easily programmed to do the job. (However, a license will be needed).

  • Migration from MDM 4J to MDM Java API

    Hi,
Can anyone send me details on the migration of MDM 4J to MDM Java API .
Any document on the differences between the two will be really appreciated.
    Best Regards
    Sid

    Hi Siddharth,
MDM4J was the old jar files which has been shipped by SAP. In earlier, for customization of any user requirement which is not avialable in MDM, In this case, we can use the MDM JAVA API. for using the same, we need to deploy the MDM4J.jar file then we can use.
Now, SAP has replaced the old MDM API file name as "MDM4J.jar" with "MDM Java API.jar".
the only difference between two is that they have added some new jar files to do the specific work with the MDM4J.jar itself. you can find the name as below:
    MDM4J.jar
    mdm-protocol.jar
    mdm-data.jar
    mdm-core.jar
    mdm-common.jar
    mdm-admin.jar
they have removed some old functionality from MDM4J.jar file itself and added so many new functionality with it.
for example: by using old java api, we can not get the password of any user but it is possible by new java API jar file. like this they have added so many new fuctionality which we can perform on the MDM Console and MDM Data manager.
for further info about the MDM JAVA API, you can just refer the following links:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdmgds55/helpdata/EN/index.htm
in the left pane,go to programming interface, the required java apis documents is there.
All the documentation is available on the MDM documentation center on SAP Service Marketplace:
    http://service.sap.com/installMDM
But for this you need valid service market place id and pwd.
    Hope this will help you.

    Hi Nilesh,
From the error i think that the error is with the hostname.
Please enter the the Application Server IP/Hostname.
If you are loggin to SAP System "XX1" from SAP GUI. Then click the change Item tab and see Application server name/IP let say "XX2" for hostname or "xx.xx.xx.xx" for IP.
    Replace <i>srv[0] = new Server("gateway","sapgw00","JCOSERVER01",repository);</i>
    with <i>srv[0] = new Server("XX2","sapgw00","JCOSERVER01",repository);</i>
If App Server is IP then replace with
    <i>srv[0] = new Server("xx.xx.xx.xx","sapgw00","JCOSERVER01",repository);</i>
Let me know if it is throwing any error.

You find examples and code by searching the internet, not by using forums.
Start with The Java Tutorials - it has trails for the bulk of the Java functionality.
See the trail 'How to Write an Undoable Edit Listener'
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/events/undoableeditlistener.html
You learn by DOING - not by reading. Actually DO the tutorial example and try to understand WHAT it does and HOW it does it.
Then search for other tutorial trails that are of interest.

  • Reg: Java API

    Hi all,
I am implementing webdynpro with MDM. To start with it i need to include jar files only or anything else is needed.
    Regards,
    Jyothi
Edited by: jyothi beera on Feb 12, 2009 11:58 AM

    Hi jyothi ,
To work with Webdynpro java and MDM system you will need to MDM java api files .
These MDM Java Apis contain all the functions and methods to work with the Master data in MDM.through your webdynpro screens.
You will need to MDM Jar files to be deployed on your Web application server and NWDS to work with them.
All you need to so is make sure that you are deploying the correct jar files matching with your mdm server version else you might face errors  laters.
Uptill the SP05 version of MDM the apis were available as MDM4J.jar files but from the MDM SP06 version onwards they are the MDM JAVAP API.jar file. This file contains all the jars needed to work with MDM.
To know the compatible java apis to work with kindly follow the belwo link:

  • Urgent - Need an answer - XML Java API

This is the 3rd time I've posted this question in last week - Oracle Support: How can I get an answer to this?
This question is about how to free up the memory of XMLDocuments, Parsers, etc using the Java APIs - not the PLSQL wrappers.
I'm writing an app using the DocumentSplitter class (from Steve M.'s book) that allows for the SAX parsing of large XML documents. But this question is really about the Oracle Java XML API.
Is there a way to free the memory of each of the "temporary" XMLDocuments that get created? I know there's a XMLNodeCover.freeDocument(int id)
method in the xmlplsql.jar- where do you get the id from? I'm trying XMLNodeCover.getDocumentId(curDoc) - but that doesn't seem to work.
And can I use that same method for each Node and Element that gets created also?
Also, would like to free the memory for the XSL processor, SAXParser, and XSLStylesheet - but this is even less obvious (although not as critical).
I'm actually getting out-of-memory errors even sooner when using the SAX parser then when using the DOM parser, and I think its due to this issue.
I know that there are PL/SQL wrappers for all these, but I'm trying to use the DocumentSplitter and associated custom classes
in only Java stored procs, and then writing a single XSLT.transform wrapper. This way its largely invisible to the PLSQL layer.
    Thanks

Hi - thanks for your response.
Actually, yes, I did change the split method to return a CLOB. The big picture is I'm trying to use the DocumentSplitter
class to assist in the transformation of large XML documents to html or tab-delimited output. Using the standard DOM parser,
I eventually get an out-of-memory situation. So now I'm trying the DocumentSplitter to do a "mini" XSL transform on each <ROW>.
The good news is it works for small to medium size reports. But its slower and runs out of memory quicker.
Below is some of the relevant code. I also wrote associated classes to wrap the DocumentSplitter and to be the 'handler' that transfoms the XML when a <ROW> is found, and returns a string (see 'endElement' method below).
I'm freeing the CLOBS in PLSQL after reading them - do I need to free them from JVM memory seprately? If so, how can I do that if I need to pass them to PLSQL?
    Thanks much,
    Eric
