New Nikon Df camera RAW files not recognized in Bridge and Photoshop.  Is there a fix?  Surely Adobe make a mistake and not keep up with Nikon.

I looked at the current list http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html and did not see the Nikon DF listed.
Would post in ACR forum and see if they know anything more.  http://forums.adobe.com/community/cameraraw

I am trying to update Adobe Bridge and Photoshop CS6, because it is not opening my CR2 files taken by my Canon 6D.  I have tried to go to help > updates, and the software says that it is "Up to Date".  However, if I view the plug-in, it says that Camera Raw is only version 7.1.  I can not find a direct download for Camera Raw 7.3, only the DNG converter, NOT CAMERA RAW!  Please Help!

Did you fix your issue?  I am having the same one

  • Having Downloaded the camera raw plug in, files from Nikon D800 not recognised. How do I fix this please?

I have just had a new hard drive in my MacBook Pro and had to reinstall Photoshop CS4. Despite downloading the most recent Camera Raw plug-in Photoshop does not recognise my raw files from my Nikon D 800

That is correct. The Nikon D800 RAW NEF requires ACR 6.7  or newer and you need at least CS5  to use ACR 6.7.  You need to download the 8.6 DNG convert and create DNG files for NEF files to use CS4. Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras

  • Cannot open nef files of nikon d800 in my cs5 photoshop and cannot download the update

How can I update a compatible update to photoshop cs5 to open nef fies taken by nikon d800

The D800 is supported from ACR 6.7, which is also the last ACR version to run under Photoshop CS5. So that's the specific version you need.
However, and it's a big however, the new process version introduced by ACR 7.x under Photoshop CS6 (PV2012), is light years ahead. The incredible dynamic range of the D800 is a particularly good marriage to PV2012 with its new highlight and shadow recovery algorithms. Just saying...

  • Can't open NEF in Bridge and Photoshop

Hi.  I can't open my  D800 Nikon NEF images in Bridge and Photoshop CS 6 of Creative Suite. However the jpgs from the D800 will open........ What to do. This is on an iMac that is 6 years old. What to do+
I have no problems opening the NEF on my newer laptop using the same software.

You'll need at least Camera Raw 7.1 to open D800 images.  Go to your Help menu in Photoshop and choose Updates.
If that doesn't work, there's a way to download later Camera Raw updates manually, but Adobe has chosen to hide it for some unfathomable reason.  I guess they're under the mistaken impression that the updater always works.

Update Failed- not applicable for me
    Still cannot read NEF files,
I would like to read NEF files from Nikon D800 in bridge and photoshop.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you

The D800 is supported in Camera Raw 7.1 and higher
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
CS5 is not compatible with Camera Raw 7 and higher. You need CS6 (paid for upgrade or join the Adobe Cloud).
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
Or stay with CS5 and use the free DNG converter to convert all D800 Raw files to DNG then edit the DNGs in Bridge and Photoshop

  • Greens from my Nikon D800 are way over saturated and too bluish  14 bit NEF

Greens from my Nikon D800 are way over saturated and too bluish 14 bit NEF uncompressed files. I have no problem with raw files from other cameras is there a setting I am missing somewhere?

    Hi,
I have been shooting my D800 for over a year now, and I have not observed what you are discussing, particularly in outdoor, natural light situations.
I have downloaded your NEF, and imported it into Aperture (3.4.5).  I notice two things right away:  1) you are using Uncompressed NEF, 14 bit recording;  and 2) you seem to have a custom White Balance.  The former should be of no matter, but would be interested if you have been able to discern any advantage over Lossless Compression, 14 bit?
However, the important concern is with the Custom White Balance impact on the rendering of NEFs in RAW in Aperture.  I am planning to do a study of this, and am wondering if you could test your resutls in similar shots with Auto White Balance rather than any preset (yours or the camera standard presets)?
I by practice only shoot Auto White Balance (and RAW), but recently I have found benefit to using a preset WB when shooting video since that result will not be modifiable later on the computer.  After doing this, I have sometimes forgotten to reset the WB to Auto before again shooting stills in RAW, and the resulting difference vs once reset has been curious.
While it is well known that Picture Controls when used and shooting RAW will likely result in wide differences between the Camera Preview and Aperture's first rendering, I am less certain what the dynamics of White Balance settings and first rendering in Aperture.
Thanks for the test image and chance to discuss this.

  • Can't open raw files from Nikon d800 in PS CS5 and can't update Camera Raw plug-ins

Can't open raw files from Nikon d800 in PS CS5 (Win7 64-bit). It says, the model not supported by Camera Raw. Tried updating Camera Raw plug-ins for d800 but keep getting error message: Update failed, Adobe Application Manager may be damaged. • Photoshop CC not allowing JPEG import from Nikon D800 - Photoshop CS6 worked fine.

When inporting JPEG from Nikon D800 nothing happens - screen remains blank.
Went back to my provious version (Photoshop CS6) and it worked fine.

Curt Y gave you some good advice.
Remove your memory card from the camera and plug it into a card reader.
Drag/copy the files from the memory card to your hard drive.
Eject your card from the card reader and reinsert into camera.
Then open the files from the hard drive.
It is not a good idea to open/work on files on the memory card, while either in the camera or the card reader.
Yes, you may have done this differently in the past, but it is much SAFER to work on the files after they have been moved to your hard drive.
Please try the above proceduce and report back if you are still having issues.

  • I need help! when I am importing my NEF files from my D3300 camera into lightroom 5 and try to use the "copy as DNG" button I always get an error message saying that "saying the file is not recognized by the raw format support"

I need help! when I am importing my NEF Raw files from my D3300 camera into lightroom 5 and try to use the "copy as DNG" button I always get an error message saying that "saying the file is not recognized by the raw format support". The whole purpose of that button is so that the file can be recognized... How can I make the "copy as DNG" button work as it is supposed too?? Thank you

Thank you for responding. So I essentially will never be able to use that button in lightroom 5? do I need to get LR 6? Will there ever be an update for LR 5 that will enable me to use it?
Does DNG Converter work within LR or do I have to upload pictures to my computer and then make a second copy in DNG format. and then go into LR and use them?
    Thank you @dj_paige

  • Anyone know how to fix problem of not being able to import RAW files of Nikon D800 to Lightroom 5.2?

Hi there, am failing miserably to import NIKON D800 RAW files into Lightroom, have updated to version 5.2 which Adobe website says is compatible, but still no luck. Can import PDF files of Nikon D800, and my RAW files are fully accessible via Nikon proprietary software such as ViewNX2 and Capture NX2. Have Microsoft OS Windows 7 (if that helps..). Anyone any idea how to fix this problem? Grateful for any ideas, Ruud

Dear Jim, you have set me on the right track, thanks! I have updated my Nikon View NX 2 software (which includes the transfer software from camera to hard disk) and this has done the trick. Many thanks, also to Keith for showing interest in my problem. Downside remains that the files previously loaded with the old software remain 'un-importable', so if anyone still has a good tip how to try and correct that...
    .. all ideas are welcome!!
But as said, many thanks for helping me solve the issue for future downloads
