Netbeans 6.5 doesn't detect Sun Java Wireless 2.5.2 for CLDC

I have netbeans 6.5 installed on my system and the Sun Java (TM) Wireless Toolkit 2.5.2 for CLDC is located in the usual folder i.e C:\Program Files\NetBeans 6.5\mobility8\WTK2.5.2
It was working fine for some time but since yesterday it has stopped working suddenly although nothing has been modified in the installation folders
The WTK 2.5.2 is not accessible in netbeans IDE anymore. I have tried to add it from "Java Platform Manager" but netbeans does not seem to work
The procedure I do is
One in Netbeans IDE
1. Open Java Platform Manager
2. Add Java Platform
3. Select "Java ME MIDP Platform Emulator"
4. Click "Next"
nothing happens... just stays at this screen
I tried to uninstalled and reinstalled netbeans 4 times nothing seems to work.
Can any one help me out.

Found the solution.... The Configuration folders for NetBeans were not getting deleted by unInstaller.
This is what you have to do to get it working
1. Completely un install the NetBeans IDE. (to be on the safe side you can uninstall jdk as well)
2. Delete all left over registry entries, if any.
3. Go to your user profile folder. that is C:\Documents and Settings\myusername\
4. There will be 4/5 folders for NetBeans.. delete all of them. (1 of them is called nbi)
5. back up the contents of your workspace folder,. and delete it.
6. Reinstall NetBeans 6.5 IDE.
7. Now It will detect J2ME..
So the conculsion is the Netbeans uninstaller should delete (or at least provide option) these configuration folders...

  • Is MIDP 2.0 and CLDC  inluded in Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.5 for CLDC?

I downloaded the "Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.5 for CLDC" and "Sun Java Toolkit 1.0 for CDC" and I have JDK 6.
do I need to download anything else or is this all I need to make applications for cdc and cldc devices??
    please help.
    thank you.

Most devices used today support MIDP 2.0, but not all of them support CLDC 1.1. If you can do without floats, it's better to restrict yourself to CLDC 1.0 & MIDP 2.0. Devices which only support MIDP 1.0 aren't suitable for today's game development anyway (performance, resolution...) so personally I'd suggest not bothering with them if you don't have to.
Here are some lists you can use to help you decide what to use, based on how many devices you want to target:

These lists aren't complete, so please let me know if you find better ones.

  • City guide at sun java wireless toolkit

    hi
has anybody tried to launch city guide-apps(example from sun java wireless toolkit 2.3) on real device?
i have motorola a1000 with integrated agps-modul and the example doesnt work.
    can anybody help me?

the problem is that a1000 doesnt support cldc 1.1 so i had to change the example a little bit working without float arithmetic. The result is: the screen simply freezes. I thought the condition of supporting locationAPI is at least MIDP2.0 AND cldc 1.1.
is there any special example for motorola using locationAPI?
i think the problem is that a1000 doesnt really support locationAPI(jsr179)
may be it uses propery APIs (like com.motorola.location or sth like that)
    writing
    System.getProperty("microedition.location.version")ill get null. its sure
so is there any way to use j2me for programming simple example like:
    i am here [lattitude, longitute]?

  • How to use KAWT with "Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.3 Beta"?

    Hi!
Im new to developing java for mobile devices so all of this is pretty confusing for me. I started with installing suns:s "Wireless Toolkit 2.3 Beta" and it works fine but now I want to use awt classes so I started to look it up and thats how I found out about kawt. I followed the tutorial at http://www.kawt.de/ and i was able to use it for Java Wireless Toolkit 1.0.4_02 so that it compiled fine and was run able.
Then I tried the same thing in v 2.3 but I got a error that looked like this "Uncaught exception java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: awtDemo: /awt/event/ActionListener: Cannot create class in system package." when i tried to run it. It compiled fine when I pressed the build button witch wouldnt have happened if i hadnt installed it correctly. So Im wondering if someone knows were to find a tutorial for installing kawt for "Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.3 Beta" or if anyone knows what might be wrong?
    I'd welcome any help
    Thanks!

If using the zip install of DSEE, you need to use your own java container to host DSEE. Try downloading the latest Tomcat (http://tomcat.apache.org) and deploying your dscc in it.

  • Sun Java System Web Server support for Red Hat EL 5

Does anyone have any information when the Sun Java System Web Server might be supported on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Server?
    Thanks

Certification of RHEL5 will likely happen with one of the upcoming Update releases.
There is, as far as I know, no reason why Web Server won't run on RHEL5 today though (I use it on Fedora Core 7 without ill effect, and the RHEL trail the Fedora releases a bit in technology versions).

  • Java ME: Sun Java Wireless Toolkit not available anymore?

    Hey everyone,
Does anyone know whats going on here? http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javasebusiness/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javame-419430.html
Says it's been updated and will be available shortly - except it looks like it's been like that since March 20th (?)
I'm trying to get started on a Java ME project that was dumped on me so this is just perfect timing for me.
Does anyone know where I could get a trusted version of the Java wireless toolkit outside of Oracle's site? Googling it gives me some dodgy looking sites which I'm not too keen on trusting.
    TIA
    Jay

  • My ibook doesn't detect an existing wireless connection...please help

    Hello,
just moved into a new house with wireless connection. all the other computers (PCs) can easily detect the wireless signal but my iBook doesn't. The airport is working properly since I can detect wireless connection in the university, cafes, trains etc...
the wireless router is a belkin.
Do you know if some special settings are required to be detect it or if there are some settings that can exclude my airport from the network?
please help me.... that's so frustrating!!!
    federica

The Belkin router might have been set up to use MAC-address filtering. In that case, make sure to add the MAC-address of your Airport to the list of addresses allowed to access the router.
Also, if the wireless connection name (SSID) is hidden (= closed network) your iBook might not see the network untill you explicitly define the network as a new Airport network connection.
