I could never edit on a 13" screen. I'm currently using a 17" MBP i7 Early 2011 as a fast replacement to my aged 20" Intel iMac.
Both systems are not that far apart on stats and you will find that processing HD video will rely highly on the read/write to your storage. Myself, I'd be eye balling the 2011 for the Thunderbolt port so HD Video export/compression doesn't take forever! Currently processing a finished HD project for DVD uses at most 20% of my total CPU capacity. The FW800 drive is the big bottleneck! (I know I need at least a RAID to see a real speed boost).
How good your eyes are and your usage style would dictate if the difference in screen size make a difference to you.

Has anybody heard if Apple is going to fix the Logic Board on the early 2011 Macbook Pros for Free? Of course my Apple Care warranty expired months ago, and this just happened. I've been looking online for solutions. But am wondering if anybody has heard if Apple is going to take care of this, or what others are doing to get Apple to repair this problem without having to pay $1,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When apple is going to have an update for mountain lion to fix the spinning wheel at start up and when a shut down my macbook pro 2011?

I bought a 2011 macbook pro after clean it up and reinstal Mountain lion, i did an update since then, whe i start up and shut down the computer gets a spinnin wheel which takes forever. I have read about this problem but i'm new at mac, and seem to be kind of complicated repair it. I'm wonder if anyone knows if apple is doing something to fix this? macbooks arent chip and i shouldnt go thru all the the time consuming to get it works how sopose to.
if some one knows anything or if there is anybody who can guide me step by step on how to fix this, i really will apreciate that.

Boot up holding command-r keys into your Recovery Volume.
The screen should give you these choices...
Restore from TM backup
Reinstall Mac OS X
Get help online
Disk Utility
First run Disk Utility Repair Disk, if you get errors run until no errors reported or reports "the disk cannot be fixed". Then, choose Reinstall OS X. This will be an install "in place" and shouldn't effect any of your own data or settings.

Once it is downloaded you need to restart the computer if it does not restart automatically. When it next starts up you should note a progress bar appearing below the Apple logo. When done the computer will restart once more. The new firmware should now be installed.

When are you going to update LION about the audio bug since 10.6.8 update

Back up your iPad and restore it as new using iTunes. That seems to be the best way to run ios8 on an ipad2. It's still likely to be very slow and laggy but at this point you're committed so you don't really have another option.

The recent firmware for Macbook Pro (2011) won't install

MacBook Pro SMC Firmware Update 1.7
I tried to install this but all I got was the gray screen of doom. After 12 hours of the gray screen, unplugged and let the battery run down. Macbook booted up (yay) and the software update says it still needs to be installed.
Should I just skip it and play the rare odds?

I had this same problem, but stopped it after 2 1/2 hours. I did a hard shutdown (held down the power button until it powered down), waited a few minutes and then started it back up. Thank goodness the MBP came back. Must be something wrong with this update. Wonder if Apple knows about it? Do their techs watch this forum?

Firefox is doing its' job by alerting you to the out-of-date certificate! You need to figure out what extension you have installed which is causing that message, and disable that extension until the certificate is replaced by a current certificate.

Tried to update the EFI on Macbook Pro 2011 & Crashed?

Hey all
So this is my new Macbook Pro 2011! FIrst apple producct ever!
I installed a bunch of updates to my mac before & they worked fine- without issue
but i recently tried to install the Macbook Pro 2.3 Firmware Update & the thunderbolt firmware update but something went horribly wrong
The mac was plugged into the wall and the magsafe charger was lit green- and the update downloaded & seemed to have installed- but on reboot i got a horrible single beep & the HDD went out...
Then after that it tried to reboot on its own 3 more times b/ci heard the fan- but it was without a display [just a black screen but no picture] & but the HDD kept getting cut off...
I held down the power button for 7 seconds & it finally booted normally after a prolonged apple logo screen
& now it seems to be working fine...
can you guys tell me what the heck just happened? My macbook crashed? :[ /?
btw system prefrences says the update is installed- but system update still says its avialable?? O_O

I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro and I also just updated to the Macbook Pro 2.3 EFI Firmware Update. Mine updated fine but when the MBP restarted, it also made that single long single beep and it was slow to restart. Once it restarted, everything seemed to be normal but now my System Updates don't work. Everytime I click on System Updates, I get an error that says it crashed. Since your System Update says the EFI Firmware Update is still available and my System Update now crashes, I'm thinking the update messed up something with System Update. I've just spent weeks trying to get my OS X Lion working so this really ***** to have the EFI Firmware Update cause me another problem. Anyone with suggestions?

Since installing mountain lion on my late 2008 macbook the cd/dvd drive isn't working won't ejects cd.

Where should I send information about SERIOUS issue of new Lollipop on XPERIA Z3? Since last update from Kitkat the SteadyShot stabilization for video doesnt work (intelligent mode works standard). Previously great videos are now shaky and simply ugly. Please SONY make something with that on next update. Probably Ill have to sell my Z3 if there will be no patch. Crystal reports 2011 failure to pull the master data for AP Items

I am using businessobjects 4.0 and i am also running crystal report 2011.I am connecting to a sap erp ecc 6.0 ehp4 without any issue.The challenge comes when trying to input or pick the master data for example company code .The crystal report does not populate the company code field with master data.Any suggestions?

uploding screen shots, below mentioned screens are captured when I was creating a new report on CR2011, usning SAP standard table "T001", there is no parameters, it is simple report but I didnot get data, if i browse the field through Cystal report is says Data Size is 0.
I also would like to inform you that If i use crystal report 2008 SP3 for same ERP, Same table and same fields, then i get proper data/report.

Sorry, but that opportunity has long passed. Your options now are:
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
