Yes, the 'Number Pages' option from 'Document Processing' is available in Acrobat X Standard too. This tool functions the same in both Acrobat X Standard and Professional.

Vitrual Print Server to Print Standard Support

Can a Vitrual Print Server be used for Print Standard Support or Advanced Support.

Inplace upgrades (As Christopher said) are a bad idea, they bring along with them all the old patches and other cruft that you want to avoid since the old system has been maintained. Upgrading the server should bring along all the old settings, so
yes this should work as you hope. The one bad thing if you were to rebuild you would have to re-add all the print shares.
This really isn't an AD question and would suggest in the future you post in the General Windows Server forum.

Does Office 2010 Standard supports IRM ?

I need a clarification.
Technet says we can't use IRM with Office 2010 Standard. But I am able to open IRM mails from Standard Edition, though i am not able to compose new mails / protect new docs.
Does technet means Office 2010 Standard supports only reading IRM protected mails/docs, but not protecting mails/docs ? If it is so, can i go ahead and purchase Office 2010 Standard instead of Pro Plus ? Is that legally right ?

Yes. Office 2010 Standard has a limited IRM feature which you mentioned.
If you want to replace the product, it would be better to call Microsoft for help.

Does SAP Netweaver Mobile support integration with devices like Intermec?

Hi All,
We have a scenario where the customer is currently using SAP Console based approach for RF transaction related requirement. The device used is Intermec CK31 for barcode scanning and updating the data in the SAP backend. Some example scenarios are Goods Issue & Scrap. Since the SAP Console based approach does not support Offline mode, the customer is interested in evaluating the option of using SAP Netweaver Mobile for the solution.
Related to this requirement, we have the following queries.
1) Does SAP Netweaver Mobile support Intermec CK31 device without a product like Mobile Factory. What are the pros and cons in this approach of using SAP Netweaver Mobile only? If yes, are there any documentation how this can be accomplished?
2) Are there simulators for Intermec scanning devices like Intermec CK31 to be used while application development?
3) Can Mobile Factory be used for implementing this requirement? Can it support offline scenarios without SAP Netweaver Mobile? Does Mobile Factory provide Simulators for the devices such as Intermec CK31 for application development?
An early response would be greatly appreciated as we are in the process of evaluating a right approach for the customeru2019s requirement and the same needs to be provided soon.

Hi,
Refer to note 1057759 for the delivered Drivers for Peripherals and devices supported in SAP DOE. This lists all the supported barcode scanners for SAP Netweaver Mobile. Those derivers are certified after testing to work only with that device and OS configuration.

I think you have to add the destination in Windows-Preferences-Destination Configuration-Web Service Configuration.
Then you can search it when selecting "web services" as provider

Is Acrobat 7.0 Standard supported on Windows 8.1?

Will I be able to install Adobe Acrobat 7.0 on my new laptop running Windows 8.1 or will I have issues with functionality? Thanks.

Here are the system requirements for Acrobat 7: System requirements for Acrobat Professional 7.0, Standard 7.0, 3D and Elements 7.0 (Mac, Windows and Unix for 3D only)
Windows 8.1 is not a supported operating system for Acrobat 7, so you may be able to install/use it, but Adobe Technical Support can't support any issues that may arise from using an unsupported operating system. (For what it's worth, I did find several posts on Microsoft's website from folks who have been able to use Acrobat 7 in Windows 8.1.) But, again, it is not a supported environment.

NetWeaver Basis support...with a Mac???

Those of us who prefer a non-Windows desktop platform are often frustrated and disappointed with the lack of support we find for our platform of choice in the mainstream business world. But, again some of us are stubborn enough to stick to our guns and try to live an alternative lifestyle.
Recently, after being a full-time employee for over 12 years, I decided to become an independent NetWeaver Basis consultant. So, one of the first things I had to think about was having a laptop for my new business. Having recently bought a Macintosh laptop for my personal use (just a couple of months before I made up my mind about going independent), my decision was actually about whether or not to buy a Windows laptop or use my Mac and risk my future clients denying me access to their office networks.
Why a Mac?
Being a Unix fan, I love the idea of having a Unix-based desktop (in case you weren't aware, Apple's operating systems core is a BSD Unix called Darwin). I can run the Mac Terminal application and develop/test Unix scripts right there, and run SSH and X-windows and other Unix tools without the need for add-ons. Plus, audio, video, modem, wireless and every other piece of hardware on my laptop works like a charm out of the box -- which is usually not the case with most Linux distros. All that apart from the legendary simplicity and elegance of the Macintosh user interface.
But, as you probably know, not everything in a Mac lovers life is sweet potatoes, especially if you work in the non-Mac-specialized IT world. Two of the main drawbacks (for me, anyway) are the relative shortage of free software and utilities as compared to Windows and Linux (though this is getting better as more people use Macs), and the lack of support from many software vendors in the business arena.
SAP, I must say, is one of the few large business software vendors that have always (since I can remember) provided a Mac client. Not as nice as its Windows-based cousin, but the Java GUI does the job (for the most part) ...in the ABAP-based world, that is. However, SAP does stop short of providing Mac support for all NW front-end components. And since lately Ive been focusing on Portal and XI, I will need more than just SAPGui in order to support my future clients with my Mac.
So, this is where things start getting more difficult:
SAPs official position on Portal Administration functions is that Internet Explorer (which only runs on Windows) is the sole supported platform. Nevertheless, I have tested most of the basic functions to work well on Firefox for Mac.
As far as XI, I believe the Java Web Start-based Integration Builder tools are also only officially supported on Windows. But since Web Start runs on the Mac as well, there is in theory no reason why the IB tools would not work properly on my laptop, and my initial testing of them has been successful. By the way, the same goes for other Java-based GUI tools such as Visual Admin, SDM GUI, and even SAPinst. All of which I have tested to work ok - just for fun, as I usually prefer to run those tools via VNC or X emulation.
In any case, living outside or on the edge of official SAP support is not a wam a cozy feeling, if you ask me.
Some other things a NetWeaver consultant might need that you cant run on a Mac are:
NetWeaver Developer Studio (though I want to try tweaking the Mac version of eclipse, just for fun, but haven't had a chance yet).
Other specialized NW front-end components, such as the ones used for MDM.
Microsoft Project.
Microsoft Visio.
NetMeeting.
So, with all of the above shortcomings and iffiness, who is going to try to support SAP customers using a Mac?????

VPN clients:     Nortel Contivity and Cisco VPN clients for Mac
Oh! and, yes... Virtual PC for Mac with Windows XP Professional...to run IE, NWDS and all the other stuff you still cant run on a Mac . After all, I cant afford not to be able to support my clients! I promise to use it only when nothing on the Mac will do ;). Perhaps I will be able to do without it some day?

The next I wont tell you is the important thing. I work as a SAP-Cosultant to develop different ABAP Report and WebAS BSP's. Since 1998 I use first PowerBook and now MacBook Pro.
I use this Machines, because, I am a great fan of Macintoh Computers and the Mac OS X TOO. For me it is simply to use, works in all kinds in all Customer-Networks no Problems with Firewall-Tools, and so on, and so on.
I work with the SAP Java-GUI. But in some kinds i need the Windows SAP Gui because the Java-GUI has Problems or can not do the work had to do.
For developing and testing the BSP-Applications I take Firefox on the OS X-Side equal on the Windows-Side. Firefox has very good tools for developing HTML like FireBug and Web Developer. The complete Pages the Custom was to see with teh Windows IE. In same cases I present the Aplication to the Customer with Safari und he ask me why the pages looks i Max OS X so pretty und with the IE so ugly. This is a very nice moment
But a last, nearly i have the same questons than Carlos Herrera tell us.

Is Oasis UBL standard supported in PI

We would like to implement electronic invoices using the UBL standard. I wonder how this can be implemented in SAP PI. Do I need for example some adapter from Seeburger or another 3rd party?
I noticed Seeburger has a ebXML adapter but I don't know if this is the adapter to be used for UBL.

You are spot on !!! The seeburger adapter for ebxml is the right choice for UBL. No issues go ahead . For further info i suggest visiting the seeburger site.
Additionally i would like to add UBL is not actually an u201CebXMLu201D deliverable u2013 yet! UBL does not mandate a particular messaging framework but is built to support ebXML.

SAP Netweaver browser support for Windows 7 OS

Hi,
can anyone provide the SAP Netweaver Portal browser support matrix for Windows 7 OS?
I could see SAP NetWeaver 7.00 Browser Support For End Users and Admin Functionality in case of Windows XP and Vista but not for Windows 7. Where can I find this information? Does SAP provided any info on this?

Is UBL standard supported by XI.

Currently , am working on a senario in which a webservice is getting called. Webservice is build using UBL xml standards. And while importing the WSDL of webservice and other referenced UBL xsd's, not able get the message deifinitons.
Let me know if any limitaions for using UBL standards.

I dont think UBL standard is supported in XI. Even RPC stype is also not supported for the WSDL.
You will require a DOC type.

C++14 Standard Support for Solaris Studio

Hi Steve,
Currently, does Solaris Studio 12.4 Final Release support C++14 constructs? I saw the Standard C++ website https://isocpp.org/std/status and the C++14 Standard will soon release the final draft later this year.
But, given that C++14 is going to be a minor change as compared to C++11, which they mentioned C++14 mostly completes C++11 (in FAQ: https://isocpp.org/wiki/faq/cpp14#cpp14-compilers), will the next release add support of C++14 before the next standard, which is slated for around 2017?
Although at this stage nothing has been confirmed yet, I wonder if the statement in the Standard C++ FAQ would mean that the new C++14 would still be treated as C++11, which would mean that Solaris Studio compilers would handle C++14 codes as under C++11 standard (i.e. the -std=c11 and -std=c++11 flags can be used to compile C++14 codes), though I am not sure.

Compared to C++11, C++14 has two kinds of changes:
1. "Bug fixes": Primarily clarification of issues in C++11 that were incomplete or ambiguous, and loosening of rules that were deemed to be unnecessarily strict. There is at least one rule change, where C++11 required instantiation of unused template functions that had an exception-specification, and C++14 does not.
2. New features: New syntax, and new contents in the standard library.
Like most other compilers, Studio 12.4 in C++11 mode has many of the C++14 bug fixes, including the rule change about template functions that I mentioned above. (For one customer's code, the rule change resulted in a nearly 20x speedup in compile time, from days to hours.)
Studio 12.4 does not have any of the new C++14 features, and the compiler does not have a C++14 mode. The reason is timing; Studio 14 feature freeze predated approval of the C++14 standard. We prefer not to implement proposed new features until they are published in the standard, because features have a habit of changing between their supposedly final form and actual publication. We have been bitten by such changes in the past, and it creates problems for us, and our customers who depend on compiler stability for large projects.
We expect to implement C++14 in a future release. Oracle policy does not permit me to be more specific.

[FR] Email encryption standards support

I'm not sure if this is supported in BES or not, but most smaller structures won't use BES anyway and many of them have been using standards such as S/MIME and PGP to protect or authenticate their communications.
BlackBerry 10 offers no support for those standards which means that some people have to use alternative mobile OS or desktop solutions in order to perform their job.
Please support email encryption standards in BB10.
