Networked user logs in and only gets dock and spotlight icon
Here's the deal: I have a networked user (PHD) that logs in the only gets her dock and spotlight icon to come up. The rest of the menu bar at the top is missing. If you click on an icon in the dock it bounces and trys to open but never does and quits. Any ideas? This has happened before to two other users of mine using the same type of computer (2.0ghz 20in iMac G5) With the other two I was very busy so I just dropped our editorial image/clone on there and that fixed it. What is weird about this is that the user can log in on another computer fine and different users can log in on that computer fine. The computer is running 10.4.4 and the xserve is running 10.3.9

well its created by using bad fonts at one time in your system - or fonts that do not exist on a local volume. when you load a font that is bad and may conflict with a current font etc the system encounters problems - upon reboot the "font cache" remembers this font and doesnt initialize the window server properly. the other case i mentioned is when i loads up and tries to load the font that was cached but was loaded into suitcase or some font management from a cd or network volume. the volume is not available and then the user login fails to finish... been a problem ever since 10.4 came out. 10.3 had its own way of showing the same issue.

The language settings are held on the user's Windows profile and not in the database. In SBO 2007A onwards there is an XML file that is created by the SBO client (previous versions stored the information in the registry). The file is called b1-current-user.xml and you'll find it in the temporary application data under the user's profile (by default this will be C:\Documents and Settings\<profile>\Local Settings\Application Data\SAP\SAP Business One for Windows XP). This XML file contains a node that looks like the following:

</leaf>
where the value is the language id that should correspond to the same setting in the DI API. If your application will always run on a workstation where the SBO client is installed then you could read this XML file. Of course, this file may not exist for a particular Windows user if they have never opened the SBO client so you'd need to have a default setting.
If you application will be installed on a workstation which doesn't have an SBO client installed on it then there is no way to tell what default language to use and you'll need to build this logic in to your own application (eg have a screen where the user can choose their preferred langauge and then store this as a config file in a similar way to how the SBO client works).

I have a problem with my iphone 4. My 3G always stays activated but I lose my network signal. The bars all get lost and I'm not able to receive / send sms, mms or phone calls. Could you guys please help me fix this problem? Ios 5.1.1
I haven't gotten a new sim card because the problem has been presenting itself in various cards not only mine. So far, all I've done is reset my network settings.
Last night, I turned off the 3G tab and it had all the signal bars. Today, I did the network reset and it's working apparently. But like I said before, previously the bars just disappear and the iphone only has the 3G activated. -
I am using elements 10 and only getting audio not video. Can anyone please explain why? I am a total newbie to video.

Just saw your thread, and it looked like a candidate for the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA GeForce Roll Back the Driver issue. If your computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card, then the following applies to you. You do not want to update the driver. Rather you want to roll back the driver version, probably to about May 2013. For your convenience I have done a copy/paste of the forum announcement which gives all the details and fix of the matter.

If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.

Is this an app bbbc? IF it is I would contact the app developer and see if they can resolve the issue for you.

I have a apple component AV TV out cable (red, green,blue + red,white) and have had this connected to TV for about 6 months working fine. I moved the TV disconnected cables to move now I can only get video and no sound back on TV. Any suggestions ?

Just installed 7.02 and only get itunes icon and usb cord. Why should I have to connect to itunes ? If I do, will I lose all of my photos ? Shouldn't I get free service for their software problem ?
You don't have to update to 7.02 if you don't want to, though this update does fix a few glitches in 7.0.
Before updating, you should always back up your data - it's standard practice. I've never lost pictures in an iTunes update.
Perhaps you could elaborate on the comment, "Just installed 7.02 and only got itunes icon and usb cord." What problem are you having, exactly.
Your next question confuses me. "Shouldn't I get free service for their software problem ?." What free service were you looking for? You can always go to your local Apple store for help, or ask questions here for free. -

What apps are you trying? TV out video only works with apps that support TV out. If the app does not support TV out you will still get aoudio via the component cable

I update my photoshop touch to 1.6 and the text is not working, whenever i enter for example "hello" i only get "he" and in some cases just pieces of words, help!!!

Thanks to your original comment again-- at least now I know if I need a "work-around" I now know at-least-that-the original-fonts in PS TOUCH seem to work. No wonder the default-font worked.. but not the NEW COPPERPLATE FONT.. YaY, mystery solved.. (almost)! [i wished they'd change that default-font..and get a new default font...Lol.. It's pretty homely looking..Hee.) I normally have been using that original TRAJAN PRO FONT.. but the letter "J" almost looks like a straight line vs a rounded J.. which at least the new COPPERPLATE FONT (which is a more normal usable font--That's not boring like aerial is,etc... ]. So yeah that will be great when all those new fonts gets fixed! // It would be great too (on my PS TOUCH wishlist, if someday they could fix the TEXT BOX too.. to be able to better & easily add A LOT [more] TEXT on a graphic .. as I always have to go to the "OVER APP" [That's the name of the app in the APPLE store] on my iPad to do that... PS TOUCH only seems to let you do TITLES vs a more lengthy text on a project. If I want to make an EASY border I take the image I've been working on into the CAMERA+.Plus App.. Downloaded Air Supremacy game app and only get company logo or a black screen before the app closes and goes back to my home screen. Checked that iPad and game are latest versions of software and restarted the iPad still with no luck. Any suggestions.

Interesting. I have your monitor directly connected to a 2010 Mac Pro which has the mini displayport built into the video card. I also still have the original Mac Pro (1,1) it replaced and that has the NVIDIA GeoForce 7300GT with 2 DVI ports, the one on the right being dual-link.
Where did you get the AD-TP400 adapter? I've searched on that part number and can't find it anywhere. I do see that Apple lists a connector which can do that but there is no part number associated with it. -
There are text messages that I'm having trouble deleting. With some of my text messages, I can swipe to the left and delete ... or press and hold, get more and delete to trash can icon. But there are some where neither will work. Can't delete. Help!
But once again, I do not want to lose my other texts, app progress, and photos. I could sync the photos but i would still lose the app progress and texts. I would only restore if it was the only option left, but the other space, as already stated, isnt the main concern. The main concern is those 'deleted' texts. If they go, then a good size chunk of the other space goes. I know you CAN delete texts for good. It worked fine before. All i want to know is why its not working for me now, and how to fix it.
I also know that when you delete texts on your iphone, they get marked for deletion, however they stay on your device (thats why they show up when you search for them.) then when you sync your device with itunes, the texts marked for deletion should disappear. When i synced they didnt disappear. Thats what i need an explanation/solution for. Why the texts marked for deletion didnt get fully deleted after the sync. -
