New Apple discution forums bugs or what?

Hi,
Since the new forums become online, I must admit there is many different issues that looks strange to me.
For instance:
- when I post, I get a screen with only the top Apple site icons and the botton site support links. I have then to browse back to the discution I was from the start. Anoying.
- The icon that were just added a few weeks ago for level 3 users to report bad post is no longer there.
- No personal icons, which I do not really care of, but still...
- I loose all the subscription to the thread I was in. too bad I suppose.
- the links over the threads somethimes point only to the top discution forum. No way to get back to the forum I was in before when I am in my profile for example.
- in some places of the forum, the display are a little bit confusing. For example, in the iPod there is a link to iPod with color display at the top, then a full catégorie of folder on the same subject in the middle of the page. Why?
- before the merge, I was about 1220 points to the next level, now I am ~2400 to the next one. No explanation on why that change...
- the general look and feel is more confusing than on previous versions. For example, the last version had a line of icons for edit post, and voting, that is now all gone and put almost everywhere.
- The last version had post numbers and subpost numbers (I mean post 3 was reply by post 3.1 which was reply by post 3.1.1). This classification was usefull, but we loose that.
- the subscribe posts were send by email as full message, now I have to get to the forum to see the full answer, because the mail just contain information stating it was updated but not the message itself. It was more than usefull from what I know.
I just hope Apple read this and make some adjustment...

Just use the same one on all devices.

How to verify the primary email address for your Apple ID

What is the stock firmware on new Apple TV's?

I'm thinking about purchasing a new Apple TV and was wondering what version of the iOS firmware comes pre-installed on the new devices.

You probably couldn't tell until you opened the box and plugged in - many places will have stock at least a few months old.
Newly manufactured units are likely to have the latest version, but older ones on shop shelves may be a fair bit older.
Chances are anything you bought would have old firmware but no guarantee.

For music and apps purchased at itunes, you'll need to use the old itunes ID. Purchased items are forever associated with the ID used to purchase them.
For contacts and other Apple data: where have you been syncing? Via itunes or icloud.

Unfortunately, that's the way the cookie crumbles nowadays. Sir Jony Ive's GUI design for iOS7 has been met with much skepticism (to say the least). But until the company sees the compelling need for an adjustment or reversal, it "ain't happenin' ". So amble over to the feedback page ( http://www.apple.com/feedback/ ) and make your displeasure known to the company, OR make it known by not purchasing its products. Because as long as the iGadgets continue selling as fast as they can make them, they will see no need for change.
BTW, do note you are NOT talking to Apple here. This is just a user-to-user forum.
Edit: for now, you can also try out any of the alternate calendaring apps available in the App Store.

Forum Bug regarding not seeing new posts

I've posted this here as many users are reporting forum issues where they will get a notification of a new post made to a thread but they cannot see it.
This is a forum bug which Apple is aware of... and are trying to resolve but in the meantime here are two (somewhat impractical) fixes i have found...
1) Open the forum on a different Mac or Apple device and the posts will show up... Go back to the original Mac or Apple device and they will not appear unless you make a new post in that thread yourself... after the missing posts.
2) Post a new reply and then any posts made prior to your new reply will show up
It is not a cookie related problem as cleaning out the cookies does not fix the issue Its odd as if this is the case then how is this bug only specific to one Mac? Something must be tracking something, somehow but it doesn't appear to be via cookies....
Quiting and restarting Safari nor restarting your Mac, doesn't fix it either...
If anyone finds any other workarounds, please post them here....

Yes I know that, but I was referring to another situation where I get a thread notification by mail, I open the thread and do not see the new message, I then sign in et voila here it is. And in my situation this has, until now, always worked.

Since the applications were purchased on the older account, you will need to log into that account to update them. The newer account will not recognize the purchases because they are not a part of the purchase history for the specific account.

Thanks restoring and restarting didn't fix my problem - i have started it fresh and still it doesn't work. Basically I press ONCE on the remote, after the machine has not had any commands for 10 minutes, and the cursor skips from one end of the menu to the other - so I can't choose network or update software etc - I sometimes manage to stop it randomly in the middle of the menu if I press on a command in the middle of the cursor skipping all the menu steps...not sure what the problem is but I have basically not used my brand new apple tv since I bought it for that reason! I should call Apple support I suppose! grrrr hate wasting time with stuff like this!

I can't sign in to my iMessage and FaceTime after getting a new apple ID account. What should I do to solve it?

When I got my iPad I created a new apple ID it was working fine but then one day when I went to the app store and checked my apple ID, as usual it asked for a password, I typed the password in and was very sure it was the right one because i've been using it for a long time. Then it said incorrect password. I tried to type it in again and again and again but it still said incorrect password. We checked if it still exists on apple.com but then it said no apple ID found or no matches to our records or something like that. So I decided to get a new one but still used the same email. I found out that if 1 email is associated with 2 different apple ID's it may cause problems but as I said we checked if the old one still existed on apple.com it said it didn't so I thought it was fine to use the email again. After that the app store was working fine. I can install games and apps. I knew I had to sign in to iMessage and FaceTime again because of the I got a new apple ID but whenever I try signing in, it always says "Incorrect password" and sometimes "check you internet connection". I've tried signing in over and over again but nothing worked I still can't sign jn to iMessage and Facetime. What do you think I should do?

Need new apple ID, no longer want to share. What data will I lose?

My friend has been sharing an apple ID with her husband, but it has created some problems. They both have iPads and iPhones. Now she wants to create a new apple ID so that things are separate. I have backed up her iPad and don't know how to proceed. I want her to still be able to have access to the photos, contacts, notes, etc that she took when the iPad had the old ID. Will she lose all of that if she creates a new ID? Can't she still keep apps bought with the old ID and just never update them? I've seen that done. She has a Bible app that she takes notes in at church. How would she retrieve those notes? I always hear about things being backed up to the cloud, but when you go to iCloud.com there are no icons for those apps or for photos. How does one access the data saved on apps?
The big question is: do I need to restore her iPad and iPhone to factory settings? Or can I just go into settings and change something? I saw a forum about people having problems with that. She has created a separate account on her macbook, so she has a brand new iTunes. Do I need to change anything in iTunes? I'm afraid that once I connect the devices to a different iTunes, everything will be erased. I appreciate your help. I know I have a lot of questions. Thanks.

Set up your own iCloud account with your own separate ID. The ID you use for iCloud does not need to be the same as the ID used for other services such as the iTunes and App stores. You can still share an ID for iTunes purchases and have a separate ID for iCloud.

If y can't find the old ID/password then you are limited to the things yo can do with items purchased with the account. Like not being able to update apps and transfer purchases.

Sorry, no way around this limitation on an iOS device. To use a new iCloud account, you need to create such on a computer first, then setup the account on your iOS device.
