New bt infinity with HH5. How to use own router?

Hi guys,
I have just this morning had my infinity 2 installed. Went with BT as I had read it's very easy to use your own router.
My engineer has just left. I was expecting an openreach modem, but didn't realise HH5 had the modem built in. No problem, must be very similar to my old virgin superhub, combo device. I'll putt he home hub into modem only mode right?
Nope, can't see such an option. Is there anyway I can get around this? Will be a deal breaker for me!
Thanks

At worst you can buy a HG612 from "a well known auction site"

  • New Advanced tab for Calibration-how to use properly?

    Dear Adobe and Lens profilers,
I have just used the newest Lens Profile version and noticed the new "Advanced" tab on the right beside "Calibration".  There are lots of choices for rectilinear, fisheye, distortion, etc.  I need information on how to use the advanced tab - I do not see updates to the user guides that are available that address this new tab. For example, there are "one parameter radial distortion" up to five parameters for various items, there is a sensor pixel shape choice - could someone from Adobe please address and explain these choices and how to properly set them for use,(including the vignette model and principal point choices, and all of these).
    Thank you,
    Debra

Hi Debra, in general, the higher the number of parameters, the better the potential for correction (especially for full frame cameras). For example, the three-parameter radial model in some cases will do a better job than the two-parameter radial model. I have not found cases yet where the 5 parameter (radial & tangential) model is helpful. As you can see, the default option is Auto which means Lens Profile Creator does an internal comparison of which model works best for your provided measurement data, and picks the appropriate model automatically. (This is largely why it is not necessary to fiddle with the Advanced settings.)
When you find cases where Lens Profile Creator is not building a satisfactory profile, my experience has been that the common issues cannot actually be addressed by using the Advanced settings. For example, if the profile is slightly overcorrecting for vignetting, changing the Vignette model parameters in the Advanced section often does not help. (This does not mean that future versions of ALPC won't provide other ways to deal with it. It just means that for now ALPC does not provide a direct means by which to tweak a profile that is slightly off.) If you are using Camera Raw or Lightroom, my suggestion is to use the "Correction Amount" sliders beneath the profile selection to adjust the correction. In the vignette overcorrection case, instead of using the default value of 100, dial it back to 80 or 60 (as an example)

  • Cam I use a newer EF lens with a Rebel that uses EF S lenses

I have a Rebel T2i that came with EF S lenses - I want to buy a Canon 5d Mark II and am trying to find out if I can use the regular EF lenses used for the mark II on my old Rebel?  I know I can't use EF  S on the Mark II .I am trying to photograph birds and know I need a super telephoto lens I have the EF S 55-250 but need more  - hope since I plan to get the markII that I can get a lens that will work on both cams for now. I have been told that using a super telephoto lens on the mark II or a full frame camera  is counter productive .Do you all agree?  thanks

    carolyn,
If I may add a step in your bird photography, I suggest you load Photo Shop Elements, it came free with your camera (?), on your computer and learn how to use it.
Consider these figures before you lay your money down.
The 55-250mm you already have acts like a 88-400mm on your T2i. The addition of a 400mm lens, zoom or prime, for the 5D Mk II is going to show the same size photograph.
    A 400mm lens on your T2i will act like a 640mm lens.
One thing I have noticed over the years is most people use a zoom lens at the long end. Otherwise, I mean if you get the 100-400mm zoom, I bet you use the 400mm side way more than the 100mm side. Somethign to consider! That said the 100-400mm zoom is still my choice over the 400mm prime.

  • How to use External Routing in Human Task

    Hi,
Could you please help me knowing how to create External Routing in Human Task in SOA Composite.
    Thanks

When defining the external routing class in the .task, you can define the name value pairs which you want to pass to the program. Here you can pass dynamic values to the class as well by reading the appropiate node from the payload. In your class the name, value would be available in the "Map propertyBag" parameters in Rajiv's example link.
    Document says:
Map of properties — When an assignment service is specified, a list of properties can also be specified to correlate callbacks with backend services that determine the task assignees.Or if you are too lazy to map many parameters and values, you can always read the whole Task task and then use getDocument and some xml reading to determine the values. This Task is the whole document.
    API:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/apirefs.1111/e10660/oracle/bpel/services/workflow/task/model/TaskType.html#getDocument__Document says:
Task document — The task document that is executed by the workflow. The task document contains the payload and other task information like current state, and so on.Also you need to make sure that you are maintaining the state of the assignment class, doc says:
The assignment service class cannot be stateful because every time workflow services need to call the assignment service, it creates a new instance. Thus if you are doing multiple serial assignments one after the another and if your server restarts in between, then the approval would start at the first assignee again. Suppose in Rajiv's doc link e.g., if the task is assigned to 'wfaulk' and the server restarts then the task would be assigned back to 'jstein'. In order to prevent this you need to modify the java code and each time the variable changes it's value you need to place it in a dehydration store. Also on each action over the process you need to reinitialize the variable from that dehydration store.

  • How to use Linksys router as bridge?

I am trying to extend the wifi signal by using another router as bridge
Source router is Netgear N150 b/g/n and here are the settings
    IP 192.168.254.1
    Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway 192.160.254.254
    Channel number is on auto
    I have a Ubuquiti antenna
Here is the webpage for the antenna
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EGI3CI/ref=oh_aui_...
I connected Linksys E900 router to this antenna and then another cable is connecting the router to my laptop
To access antenna settings I typed 192.168.1.20 and accessed the antenna settings I chosed bridge option
Then accessed internet explorer typed in 192.168.1.1 for linksys router settings
    Here is the linksys settings
    IP 192.168.1.43
    Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway 192.168.1.1
    Channel number is on auto
I choosed the channel number different than the one from the original signal and chose bridge as option
While it was connected I tried to surf the net but it did not work
I unplugged it form the router and checked the wifi signals and saw my wifi signal very strong
But tried to connect but it says can not connect
    Can someone help me?.
Is default gateway supposed to be the same in main router and the bridge router and the antenna?

You need to verify with the e900 that it actually has the Bridge mode feature, it it does not, the only other thing you can do is to run it in wired AP mode:
    http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=169333b784cf4c78b8db5490f85c518a_Setting_.xml&pid=...
    http://www.northshore-it.com/tips/how-tos/cascade_linksys/#LAN_to_LAN
If you you an actual bridge mode feature, and the e900 will not work, I suggested reviewing this as an alternative:

  • Thinking of using own router

    Hi,
I've just joined BT a few weeks ago and I'm thinking of using a different router than the Home Hub 5 to get better features and control of my network.
I currently have a support ticket logged with BT to find out what router settings I need to keep any eye out for when choosing my new router, and obviously the credentials I will need, however 6 days have past with no reply so I thought I'd post on here as well to see if anyone has any experience of this already?
I usually use Netgear equipment, but I need to make sure I get one with a built in modem (although I do still have my BT Openreach modem from my previous supplier, so I can use that if Nethear don't do a model that includes the modem) and is a decent spec.
Anyone done this before or have any suggestions?
    Thanks for your help!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
A decent looking router, my only issue would be that it doesnt support ac, I'd like to ensure my new router would be as 'future-proof' as possible so any suggestions for an ac model?
None of the  Wireless VDSL2/ADSL2+ Modem Routers offered by TP link look to have ac which is bizarre!
For example I was looking something like:
    http://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/dsl-modems-routers/D6200.aspx
Thanks for the link to your website, some interesting information on there, the only link I can see that looks to reference the username and password that you will need for the router seems to reference the account for BT Wi-fi? Is there a specific document for retreiving the username and password to authenticate for ADSL?
    Thanks

  • Using own router

    Hi
I'm currently using my own router (a Billion  BiPac 7800N) for my phone line. I am now switching to infinity and want to continue using my Billion (already setup with better security than the home hub).
Does anyone know what settings I have to change in the router? I presume the password remains the same (a bt email address) but I don't have a password so I presume I won't need one for infinity?
Is there any other settings I need to be aware of?
    Thanks
    Tom

    Hi there,
As the other poster has rightly said, you need to connect via PPPoE, but when you input your username and password for the connection, the settings that you should use are: username: [email protected] password:[anything you want, just don't leave it blank]
I hope this additional info helps.

  • Transferring to new iMac via time machine - how to use Ethernet?

Hi, I am setting up a new iMac and transferring my files from my MacBook (2007) using time machine. I started the transfer wirelessly (foolishly) but it predicted it would take 36 hours. With the transfer still happening I have now attached an Ethernet cable but the countdown is the same, presumably because the wireless transfer is still taking priority.
Is it risky to abandon the transfer midway through? If not, once I have stopped it, how do I ensure the ethernet takes priority, considering that I am still at the very early stages of iMac setup (so have not gone through to the normal home screen etc)?
Another issue is that the screen seems to sleep every 30 mins, so I am not sure the wireless transfer will keep progressing overnight...?
Many thanks in advance for any pointers.

Receiving Code 150:30 lead me to the following Adobe link...
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-licensing-stopped-mac-os.html
This Adobe page provides an app (LicenseRecovery 11.6.1), supposedly designed to reinstate a licensing issue. When I opened the file, and tried to open the app that's suggested on this page, the program hung. I assumed the app hadn't been updated for Mountain Lion.
Wouldthis app address the issue if it had worked?

  • How to use SAP Router String with SAP Web Services

I have developed an SAP Web Service and I'm using it from a vb.net dll by using web reference.
I want to use an SAP Router string when I try to call web service but I don't how to do it.Should the url of my proxy contain this router string in itself or is there any other attribute that I should configure for this purpose?
    Please help!!!

srvProxy.Z_SDB_RFC_GetList(p_bayi, durum, True, miktar, telefon, expMusteri, expReturnValue, expSiparis, expTeslimat, expAdSoyad)
                musteriAdSoyad = expAdSoyad
                ReturnValue = expReturnValue
                srvProxy.Dispose()
                srvProxy = Nothing

Since I posted this question, I have abandoned the notion of
auto-generated web services and embraced the good old FDS concept
where the RemoteObject meta-tag does all the conversion work for
me. We are now using the Granite DS package and it is working well
for us. I would love to consume web services, but it just isn't
worth the hassle when all you have to do with Granite (and FDS) is
cast your return objects to the proper object type.
BTW, since this posting, I have investigated competing Flex
app frameworks. After my research, I checked out the PureMVC
framework. Wow!! Cairngorm always left me with an uneasy feeling
and I guess I am not alone. Apparently, Cliff Hall felt the same
way. That is why he started the project. I like his approach alot
more than Cairngorm especially since it includes notifications
which allow me to broadcast my own app level events independent
from the AS Event framework. Check out PureMVC. For what it is
worth, it has my humble endorsement. Cliff was even gracious enough
to acknowledge the other Adobe Consulting guys for their work. Good
for you Cliff, I respect that. Check out a better way at

  • Is there a way for the Yosemite maps app to add address to an existing contact (in contacts app) instead of creating new contact record with blank name (not useful)?

I was using the maps app in yosemite to look up an address, once I was able to verify the address, I wanted to add that address to an existing contact record in the contacts app.  When I clicked on the option to add address to contacts, it unfortunately creates a new record with the address in it, however, the rest of the contact is blank.
My question is: is there a way to prompt the user (me), to select whether they want to create a new contact or add it to an existing contact?

  • With DAQmx, how to use AO start trigger for AO/AI synchronization with finite AI sampling

I am a new user to DAQmx and I am trying to synchronize AI (finite samples) with AO in LabVIEW 7.1 using a PCI 6229 card. I want to generate a finite waveform (AO) and, subsequently, collect a finite number of voltage samples (AI). I would like to repeat the AO-AI cycles in a while loop.
Alternatively, I could use an infinite AO generation and collect finite number of voltage samples on AI but always exactly at the same spot of the AO buffer.
Using traditional DAQ and a 6024E card, I used a counter triggered by AO start trigger signal (example attached). I have problems with translating this example into DAQmx.
    Please help!

    Lesley,
Thank you very much for your suggestion. Late last night I actually tried a to use AI start trigger instead of AO start trigger and it worked (since I tried the AI & AO to start simultaneously, it does not matter what triggers what), even in the loop. The devil is in details, as I had to carefully wire the number of data points and what to place inside/outside the loop.
The problem with shared clock is that I need to sample the AI and AO at different rates but using AO and AI clock separately did not seem to affect the performance.
I still want to try to use the AO start trigger (as you suggest) because I would like to delay the AI by a few ms from the AO. Is there a simple way to to that?
I suppose, switching from traditional DAQ to DAQmx requires your brain to be rewired - after playing with it for a couple of days and nights I developed a "feeling" for it. One of the differences was that, in order to use this example in the loop, one has to use 'stop task' inside and 'clear task' outside the loop.
    Thanks again!

  • New IMac preloaded with Lion, how do I load Lion on my Macbook

I bought an IMac preloaded with OS 10.7.4 and want to load it on my Macbook Pro.  Since it didn't come with a disc how do I go about doing this?
    Thank You

You cannot use the Lion that came with your iMac to also upgrade your MBP. You must purchase a separate upgrade for the MBP. Your MBP must be running Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later in order to purchase and download Lion from the App Store - $30.00.
Or you can wait until Mountail Lion is released this month and upgrade directly for $20.00.
How to Install Lion Successfully - You must have Snow Leopard 10.6.7 or 10.6.8 Installed
    A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.3.) if DW cannot fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall Snow Leopard.
    B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the backup volume. Source means the internal startup volume.
    C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update.  While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
    D. To upgrade to Lion:
Purchase the Lion Installer from the Mac App Store. The download will start quickly. Lion is nearly 4 GBs so a fast internet connection is essential. Download time could run upwards of 4 hours depending upon network conditions and server demands at the time.
Boot From The Lion Installer which is located in your Applications folder.
    Follow instructions for installation.

They don't. iCloud, like MobileMe before it, is specifically targeted at personal users. If you want business email you would be much better off with a proper business service with a guaranteed uptime and properly accessible support.
