New Computer locks up then loses some bios settings

I just built a new system with the following pieces
2.40 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 4000
Board: MS-7025
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 02/17/2005
4x 512meg samsung
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT bfg oc agp
Thermaltake Silent Purepower 480W
NVIDIA STRIPE 372.62G [Hard drive] (400.09 GB) -- drive 0
photosmart printer card reader (HPH11) [Hard drive] -- drive 2
PLATINUM 080G 2F5400 USB Device [Hard drive] (81.96 GB) -- drive 1
Occasionally system will have a hard freeze and require a reboot.  When this happens some of my bios setting change (agp becomes pci, I have to setup raid0 again and video card memory becomes 128).  This does not happen after a normal startup and no other changes occur i.e. time and date are not reset.  Thanks for any help.
Clint

You lose of bios settings is classic lack of power.  The 12v output for Thermaltake Silent Purepower 480W is only 18a MAX, meaning you will essentially run @ about 12a under normal conditions.  This isn't enough power for the Neo 2, which likes good clean power in the 24a range.

What actions, if any, did you take to transfer your iTunes Library from your old computer to your new one?  Unless you do so, the only songs that will automatically be available to you are your previous iTunes Store purchases - and even then this is dependent on both where you are (not all regional versions of the Store provide this facility) and whether the songs you've purchased are still available from the Store.
As leofanti points out, iTunes Match is not a backup service for your library.

Save all the photos from your Droid into a folder on your computer.
Connect your device to your computer. On iTunes left Pane, select iPhone under 'Devices'; then on the right Pane, select PHOTO tab.  Make sure Sync Photo box is checked, and "from" box selected the folder that has Droid's photos.  Then click the SYNC or APPLY button on the lower right window.

    anomaly jade,
You only need to use the serial number during installation.
Have you, at least seemingly, been able to install, and then you are unable to start up?
If that is the case, you could try to reinstall using the full three step way:
Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

  • Syncing to a new computer: What will I lose?

Hello, and thanks for any help in advance.
I'm biting the bullet and syncing my phone to a new computer so that I can continue to add music and such to it via iTunes. I want to know what I should expect to lose in the process, since I can't seem to find a straightforward answer...
I realize I'll lose all of my music on the phone. What else, though? Will my contacts disappear too? I'm assuming the synced photos will be gone as well. I ran a back up, but I'm not sure what that does, exactly. What about my text message and call history?
I'm just looking to find out what I'll lose and what will still be on the phone after this process is done, so that I know now whether or not I need to figure out a way to save the data I may lose.

Before you sync to the new computer, just copy all the tunes from your old computer to the new one and build playlists on the new one. Copy your contact info and calendar info as well. Photos too, if you sync them. Then when you sync your phone to the new computer, tell it to sync the new playlists, and the contacts and calendar. At the end of the sync, you'll have all the stuff you had before -- no need to lose anything at all.

  • Got a new computer with windows 8 bought some tunes but cannot sync them into my nano (version 6) don't know much about computers

cannot figure out how to sync the new music I have purchased from itunes store to my ipod my new computer has windows 8 I can see the music in my library but no task pane appears to the left so I can sync music I do not know too much about computers so can anyone help me?

In the latest version of iTunes, the sidebar (on the left side) may be hidden.  To show it, go up to the menu bar, under View, and select Show Sidebar.
The iPod can be loaded manually (by dragging items to it from the iTunes library), or using automatic syncing (by setting up the iPod's Music tab in iTunes).  After making the sidebar visible, if you have questions about using automatic syncing or the manual method to load the iPod, please post back.

  • I need a new computer and am looking for some direction

I have the CS5 Premium Suite and do not have the 3D capability on my current computer. I am a PC user and was hoping someone would educate me on what desktop computer I should investigate. Thanks for helping out a newbie!

While some might propose building your own, unless you're *really* into computer tech I suggest getting a pre-built system, put together by a reputable company.  For maximum future-proofing, it should be a workstation class machine rather than a regular old computer, and one that comes with a solid warranty.
If I were outfitting a brand new machine for graphics / Photoshop use right now, I'd look at the Dell Precision Workstation line.  These are the only machines I use in my business.
You really haven't said anything about your budget...  These are not inexpensive machines.  But they are rock solid stable, they perform really well (and I'm talking THROUGHPUT), and Dell will come fix the machine if it breaks.
Now, if you are looking to not spend quite so much, you can get a just off cutting edge Dell Precision workstation used, even with a warranty still intact (and which can be extended) for a big savings.  Believe it or not, eBay can be an excellent source of Precision workstations...  I have purchased two this way recently, and I have had nothing but rock solid service from them.
My rule of thumb for pricing a professional, "get real work done" computer is this:  Prepare to spend $1,000 for every year you expect to be able to use this computer.  If you think you'll be buying another machine in 3 years, then you should look at spending $3,000.  Another way to look at it is that if you buy a brand new workstation decked out with all the bells and whistles you might spend $5,000 and that machine will likely be usable (possibly with some minor upgrades, such as adding RAM) for 5 years.

  • HELP - Brand new computer build - stuck in FF - NO BIOS

    Hi,
I have put together my very first PC build computer with ALL brand new hardware components.  I'm newbie when it comes to putting a whole build together.  I believe have connected all the necessary hardware components needed to the my new MSI 790FX-G70 motherboard and PSU (Ultra 750W).  When a start up the machine I have power and motherboard and all fans worked.  However, I'm not able to see the BIOS on the monitor.  Nothing actually is shown just blinking monitor green light on my Samsung 17 inch.  The motherboard reads only reads "FF" then in a few seconds the "FF" disappears for 1 second and the "HDD_LED" red light to flashs on the motherboard - this cycle just continues over and over.
So then I disconnected everything except for the motherboard, CPU, Graphics card, 8GB memory (along with the monitor, mouse & keyboard) Still getting same results - NO BIOS display - motherboard shows "FF" and then revs causing "FF" to disappear and the "HDD_LED" red light to flash on the motherboard.
Keep in mind, I have brand new components and no drivers or OS has been installed yet.  What can be checked to ensure proper installation - even thought I  followed the guide correctly.  Is there anything that can be reset safely.  I tried the reset button and nothing seemed to happen.  I also swapped out the graphics card and tried again still no dice.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thx.

Ok I was able to get at least to the MSI 790FX-GD70 splash screen be removing ram (only using one stick now -- G.skill 2GB ram) thx guys -- however, now I get the message:
"Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key"
I can't get any further than this now.  Any Suggestions???
Regarding the ram I'm using - I found several people using the same ram Gskill ran with their AMD Phemon II 955 without issues.

  • HT204406 System and iTunes crash everytime since trying to link iTunes  Match - purchased a new computer and still then same issue.  Need support to fix, or cancel the iTunes match - have not been able to use it yet.

System and iTunes crash everytime I try to enable iTunes Match
Libary has 20,000 music files and about 50 movies, of which 2/3 are digital copies
Any ideas, as I would like to use iTunes Match
    Thanks

In iTunes, do Store->View my AppleID
    Click "Deuthorize ALL"
Then, on any computers you still have, do Store->Authorize this computer.  If there are less than 5, you will have no problem.
You can only do "deauthorize all" once a year, so in the future, if you ever throw a computer away, remember do to "Store->Deauthorize this computer" first.

  • I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation that I have not updated since purchase.  I have downloaded music from iTunes from an old computer that I can no longer access, and my "old" music in not currently on my new computer.  Will I lose my music if I update?

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation and have not updated the software since I purchased it.  When I first purchased the iPod Touch, I synced it with an old computer and an older version of iTunes.  I no longer have access to the old computer and no access to the older music I downloaded onto the old computer.  If I update the software for my iPod, will I lose all of my music that is currently on the iPod?

iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Since your updating from iOS 4 to iOS 6, you will most likely lose your songs, but if songs were purchased from iTunes, you can try this:
Downloading past purchases from App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
You can redownload from iTunes on your iTouch, if running iOS 5 or better.

  • HT4527 if i were to home share the contents of my current library to my new computer could i then sync my iphone to the new one?

I need to transfer my music, movies, apps etc. to my new laptop because my old one is almost unusable however i dont know if syncing it will work if i do what was suggested.

Homesharing is sharing a computers iTunes library to other devices on the network.
    It is streaming, not downloading.
You can't share items on an iOS device.

Yup, it could be a short causing CMOS to clear whenever MB loses power for whatever reason. Also check JBAT1 (clear CMOS jumper) and insure there is no jumper or no bent pin(s) there. Check this 1st before going to the trouble of removing MB for testing.
