  • New GL configuration QADB

    Friends,
I am starting to work on new GL configuration on ECC 5.0. I would appreciate if you can give me some insight on questions I need to ask client before blueprinting.
they r not planning to use PCA, only basic FI.
    Thanks,
    A

    Hi,
In New GL there are options
    1) Parallel  Ledger
    2) Business area/Profit center Document splitting
    3) Segments
    4) Closing cokpit
    5) AIS- Audit Information system
    6) Reporting with all the above features.
so, you need to ask the client regarding
    1) how they want to report?
    2)  what type of balance sheet are they required?
    3) What type of reports are used in the past?
    4) are they required Parallel Ledger settings? if yes why?
    5) Will it be nessasary to use Segments, for what purpose?
    6) Month and Year end Closing can be created and set it, so that user will run batch inputs- Closing cockpit is required?
These are some of the questions, you can ask the client regarding the new GL.
    Regards,
    Padma

  • Question on The New SOA Configuration Approach Article

    Hi,
I found this nice article Link: [The New SOA Configuration Approach|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/40dabb46-dd66-2b10-1a9a-81aa620098b3] in SDN.  It is very well written and easy to follow.  I was trying to follow the steps.  One thing confusing to me are the screen shots on page 9 and 10 for SOA Manager.  I was running SOA Manager in a PI 7.10 SP4 environment but I could not find the same screens as shown in that article.  Instead of the tabs as shown in the screen example I was getting a list of profile properties.  And I did not find all the properties from the screen example.  Does anyone know what I may be missing?  Any help/hint will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jiannan Che

    Hi Jiannan,
The screenshots that are in the PDF file are from Enhancement Package 1 version that would be publicly released soon. In 7.10 SP4, you see an "uglier" UI which also supports less properties, but in general the security properties are there too. Let me know if you need more details on the supported properties

  • Import new Device Configurations in Flash Builder 4.6

In Flash Builder 4.5, there is a button on the Preferences>Flash Builder>Device Configuration panel to import new devices from a database. That button is gone in Flash Builder 4.6. Is there a way to import new device configuration in Flash Builder 4.6 without typing in the information manually?

Did you find an answer to this?

Microsoft told me with Microsoft Update Advisor that I could upgraded from Windows 7 Pro 64 bits to Windows 8 Pro 64 bits and after one year with another Microsoft Upgrade Advisor from Windows 8 Pro 64 bits to Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bits. But Gigabyte does not give the drivers on their website for this motherboard that support Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
I think I should purchase a new motherboard, a new CPU and new RAM. Do you agree? If yes, so can you tell me what king of CPU and motherboard to choose for Creative Cloud, please? I had followed Adobe advices to use a Nvidia Quadro 2000 graphic card and HDDs in RAID 0 for editing video.
Moreover Microsoft recommend to use a SSD for Windows 8.1. So, do I really need a SSD, with which capacity and which brand?
Thank you if someone can help me.
    Yours faithfully

  • New office configuration - is Mac Mini Server a viable choice?

I am totally reconfiguring our business back office. We have 2 MacBook Pro's, 2 new IMac's, 2 older iBooks, 3 iPhones, and a newly purchased Time Capsule. We also have a Windows desktop that is solely used for Quickbooks accounting, as well as 2 HP printers.
We want to have seamless file sharing, program sharing, and printer sharing. A consolidated email would be nice.
If I purchase the min server, can I use one of the 500gb HD to use solely for a Windows accounting purpose, of which I could use Parallels or VM Fusion, and use the other 500gb HD for everything else. Is this the right direction for us or should we be looking at something else.

I use an older mac mini 1.85GHz as a server with SL.
I have 6 mac clients and two windows PC's I use the server for mail, group wiki's (10), I tunes server, file server, Ical/Address book server and as a home PC liked to the TV.
Set up can be a bit ricky if you are new to the OS, I am a PC technician used to Windows Server, and whilst the UI in SL server looks easier than windows (those nice on and off switches) there is lots to configure behind the scenes to make it sing properly.
The server will do all that you want and it does make sense to go with it especially as you have the macbook pros, set these up with PHD and you will sync back to the server nicely.
As far as quick books goes, just set up a share for the windows machines on the server, no need to use a separate drive, and the pcs will access the data seamlessly.
    Enjoy !!!

  • IPX not working with new Network Configuration

Here is my situation. I have been engaged with a customer that had the following equipment.
    1x 3640 Router running IOS c3640-d-mz.121-3a.T1
    1x 3550 L3 Switch running IOS 12.1.15 EMI
    8 x 3548XL L2 Switches running IOS c3500xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC13.bin
When I was asked to look at the network they were experiencing slow LAN speeds (10.8MB file between two LAN hosts around 12 minutes). This network consisted of 10 Class C networks 10.5.60.x - 10.5.69.x, these networks were based on the 3560 split between two interfaces. Odd ranges on FE 0/0 and Even on FE0/1. The router was acting as a stub router on a T1 from the client’s core network provider. This core provider has IPX services that my client has to be able to use. Under the old design there was no VLAN structure and basic network services such as DHCP barely worked.
Now the network is configured with the 3640 router as the edge routing device and the 3550-48-EMI is configured as the LAN routing devices. I have split the 10.5.60.x range in two using the lower segment for VLAN 60 and using the upper range as the communication network between FE 0/48 on the 3550 (ip addr 10.5.60.130 255.255.255.128) and FE 0/0 on 3640 (ip addr 10.5.60.131 255.255.255.128), these interfaces are connected via an ISL Trunk. Each VLAN is set at the 3550 with the gateway of 10.5.x.1. Each of the 8 3548XL switches is configured with all of the VLANS and are linked to the 3550 via 100 BaseT and 1000BaseT interfaces configured as dot1q trunks. Multicast routing is enabled on the 3550 to allow services like MDNS and Imaging to occur across VLANS.
With all this said IPX is not working. My 3640 edge router is still seeing all of its upstream IPX servers and networks. This router also sees the local IPX network as connected out of FE 0/0, based on this config setting (ipx network 1368023) FE 0/0. I'm guessing that this piece of the puzzle is based on my L3 changes on the LAN. But I just am not able to wrap my head around what it is. Any help that could be offered concerning this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Whatever the solution is it needs to happen with no more hardware and this new structure has to stay in place. I have been able to fix all ip network services such as DHCP and the customer reports a 1013% speed increase from the point when I first arrived. The 10.8 MB file mentioned above now transfers in about 8 to 10 seconds across the LAN.
    Again Thanks.

I was pretty sure of that. Is there anyway to tag the IPX traffic to a VLAN from the 3600 as described in http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios120/120newft/120t/120t1/ipx_vlan.htm Which so far hasnt worked...
Or is there a way that I can simply use broadcasts at a L2 level to accomplish connectivity? This was working like a charm under the bad network configuration that was purely L2 and 10 subnets drapped accross two router interfaces. It seems like there should be some sort of simple fix I'm missing.
Otherwise is there a way to have the VLAN clients talk up to the 3600 in order to get IPX information? In the end this is a short term fix. 3 weeks from now the IPX app is being replaced by and IP app. But I need it for 3 more weeks.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • What's the difference between old workbench 2.x configuration and new IFCR configurations?

I'm an Endeca old-fashioned guy. We moved from workbench 2.1 directly to ToolsAndFrameworks 11, my question is, what's difference between old workbench 2.x and new IFCR conf?
Looks emgr_update update_mgr_settings isn't doing the same thing ifcr importXML does.
I manually added a thesaurus entry, and ran emgr_update to load it to workbench, but it didn't show up in our new workbench. And when I ran emgr_update get_all_settings, I can see the thesaurus entry I created in the output. So... What's difference between these 2?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

emgr_update no longer sets or gets the thesaurus from workbench. In 11 all workbench configurations are saved in IFCR configuration directly.
Hence the thesaurus entry should be added directly in version 11 Workbench as opposed to xml file in older versions.
And if you want to migrate the changes across environments then import_site script in control directory can be used.
