New Font wont show in Adobe reader.

My company is re-branding itself and part of that re-branding is having the new name in a new custom Font. But when we print our external reports to send to customers the new Font does not show. I tried adding the Font to the adobe reader Font folder but still nothing? I wish Adobe Reader would just get it's Fonts from C:Windows\Fonts\. What do I need to do?

Sounds like you need to talk to the folks that build the application that you use to create the PDF's.
No one here will be able to tell you how to embed fonts in that application unless you get lucky and run in to someone else that uses it. Their support would be your best bet.

Fonts turn pink in Adobe Reader

I am exporting Keynote '08 presentations (hyperlinks only) to PDF and have begun encountering a weird situation: on some slides, the fonts appear in a pinkish colour when the file is opened in Adobe Reader, and in the normal colour when the same file is opened in Preview. Haven't tried with Windows version of the Adobe Reader (emailed the file to someone to check), but was wondering why this is happening...I can't see it being a missing font, 'cause sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Anybody have a clue?

Further to my issue from yesterday: Exported PDFs from Keynote have the 'pinkish font' issue when opened in Adobe Reader on both Mac and Windows. However, it DOES NOT have the issue (i.e. fonts come out in the correct colour) in Adobe Professional (version 7 on Mac) or in Preview (Leopard version). Also, some shapes that are filled with the normal colour also get the 'pinkish' treatment when opened in Reader - they come out wrong too. Baffling.

We are planning to launch a pdf fillable form with a dynamic qr code in it. We designed the form using Adobe XI Professional, however the qr code does not display in the adobe reader. Would request your help to check with Adobe and let us know as to what is required to get the qr code displayed in pdf reader.

I have a very similar situation.
I have created a form from Microsoft Word and saved form layout as PDF file. Then using Acrobat XI Professional created a QR code on the form.The contents of QR code are generated using Adobe's Java script to combine data from other fields on the same form.
I created the code for QR field by using an example taken from Adobe site.
QR code displays correctly when viewed using Acrobat XI and also when converted to a flat PDF file (no form fields) by use of PrimoPDF printer application. (Print from Acrobat XI). When these flat PDFs are opened by Acrobat XI, or Reader XI the QR Code shows.
If I open the form using READER XI, the QR code displays as a light grey square on the form (ie; no QR code).
After putting data into the fields on the form using Reader XI, theQR code field remains light grey, and also after printing the form, the QR field still remains light grey (no data).
I believe tihs is similar to the problem Mr Al Hilali is experiencing.
This is either somthing to do with code driving the QR field on the form, or Reader XI can not handle QR Codes when working with forms.
What do I need to do to make the QR code visible when opening PDF forms with Reader XI?

New Fonts Not Showing

Recently added a suite of various Helveticas which are all appearing in some programs (Word) but only a single font is showing in Illustrator. Why might this be?

Are they other versions showing under the font style rather than the font family?

Extended Font Pack support for Adobe Reader 9

To all:
I am wondering if Adobe is no longer supporting the downloading and installation of foreign language font packs for Reader 9.
The reason why I am thinking this is the case is because I can find no page on their site to download them from.
I have found the Extended Font Pack page for Reader 8, but when I search for Reader 9 - I come up empty-handed.
If anyone knows about whether Adobe has decided to end support for downloading and installing extended font packs separately from the Reader, that would be great if they can share this information.

Options not showing on Adobe Reader XI to sign; also cannot print out

I downloaded Adobe Reader XI. I have Windows 7 and Google Chrome/Internet Explorer. I filled out a form online and need to digitally sign and printout. I cannot do either. The file>save>as other> but does not give me option for extended. I went back to Adobe website, downloaded Echo Sign/Verisign but still cannot sign or print. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to pay for the extended services? If I do, it sucks.

Not using Chrome window; using Internet Explorer. The form I filled out online states it cannot be saved. But if I sign and send I can keep a copy for my records..which I translate as cannot print it out. I think I answered my own question on this. Is there any pdf through Adobe/Acrobat I can download that is free and can simply print out next time? I only needed this digital signature one time. Other times it will not allow me to print any forms in pdf. when I try to print, screen comes up; bar showing loading in pdf file. I open it try to print the form and nothing. No prompts, no windows opening telling me why it did not.
I even tried printer offline, set my printer option for pdf to print but nothing. I have HP desktop as well as HP officejet Pro; if this helps resolve.

Font not recognised by Adobe reader

When trying to open an Adobe document with Adove Reader I get an error message saying that the embedded font are not recognised and my not display or print correctly. When opening the document it only displays dots. How do I fix this?

You cannot fix it. Contact the person that created the pdf file.

Publishing site and wingding font wont show?

hello all
i am working on a site and want to use a letter from the wingdings font collection. when i publish the site though the wingding does not show up, but rather its traditional substitute (in this case a J)
is there a way around this or am i just out of luck with using wingding fontset?

I think you are out of luck trying to use a font that maps symbols to Latin, as display can never be reliable. It should work if you use something from the Character Viewer (view = code tables or all characters).

How do I get new fonts to show up in Reports?

I can't get my v10 reports to display MICR font on the server.
I have a MICR font that I installed without issue on my PC. When I write something in the 10.1.2.0.2 Report Builder, it comes up in the MICR font without issue. We have a Windows server AND a Linux Server, and I installed the MICR font on both machines. When I open Paint on the Windows Server, I can write in MICR font, so I know it is installed. However, when I try to run either report from the menu, the MICR font does not display.
For the Windows server, I just moved the MICR font to the Fonts folder.
For Linux, I ran this:
cd usr/share/fonts
mv /home/oracle/mid/forms/v10suite/micrenc.ttf /usr/share/fonts/micrenc.ttf
ttmkfdir > fonts.dir
fc-cache
/etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs restart
Please help!

Some time ago we had the same problem on a Windows-Server. A simple reboot of the server fixed it for us.
Remember this though: When you open the generated PDF (I just assume that you generate PDF through reports) on a windows-PC without your MICR-Font installed, it will not show!
For this to work you have to use either „Embedding“ or „Subsetting“. Both is explained somewhere in the report-sever documentation.

Arial Unicode MS font not viewable in Adobe Reader 9

I have created a form in Acrobat Acrobat X Pro which has some labels in Arial Unicode MS font and when i view the form in Reader 9, I'm not able to view the labels. I have Arial Unicode MS font installed on my machine. What could be the problem?

The use of the Arial Unicode font may seem a simple way to get things done, but in fact this needs enormous care and testing. It will need at least some of the far eastern language packs installed, probably Korean.
For example, the font will need to be installed on each computer where the form is to be filled. This is not a free font, you cannot even buy it, but it comes with Microsoft Office. So only people who have purchased Office will have the font.
I would recommend using a Punjabi font. This should be a properly encoded Unicode font, one which works only on copies of Windows with Punjabi support NOT a "trick" font to work on Western Windows. Even so, Acrobat's support for languages outside western and the "big four" far eastern languages (Chinese x 2, Korean, Japanese) might not be sufficient.

New e75 wont show incoming call details

hey guys, just as the title states, i have purchased a new e75 and when i recieve calls my phone only displays 'call', it does not display any incoming caller i.d such as the callers name and number. Anybody having the same problem? can anybody help me? do i need to take it back to the shop? i just bought the phone today everything else seems to be working fine. thanks.

But it was not the problem.
I had previously removed any duplicated contact, or duplicated entry within a contact.
But I found the cause of the problem.
The file contact.db was corrupted.
Here how I solve the problem.
I erased all my contacts, made a backup (with PC Suite), then restore the phone to the factory settings (with #7370#).
After that I restore the phone with PC Suite.
The contacts, I picked up a one month old copy I had with outlook express.
It solved the problem.
Not a simple task I think.
OVI people should issue a patch or something to save all customer out there.
Surely it was caused by ovi.
