New iOS 4.1, HDR Images

Hi,
Just checking if anyone knows or read that I've missed.
Is the HDR feature shown yesterday in iOS 4.1 available to 3GS users as well or is it only for iPhone 4 ??
Any clues ??

HDR photos only on the iPhone 4. Probably due to the weaker processor in the 3GS. I have the True HDR app and it takes it's time generating a HDR photo and I was hoping that the HDR feature of 4.1 would also be available to the 3GS as it does it 'properly' with three photos instead of two in True HDR.

  • New HDR Image darker than preview

Today I was using Adobe Bridge to combine sets of 3 photos with different exposures to create HDR images and sending them to Photoshop. So far today I made 20+ such images and successfully saved them into PSDs.
I just ran into an odd problem. After clicking 'Merge to HDR' in the Bridge -> Photoshop option, Photoshop did it's thing of merging my 3 images. The preview window came up, it looked perfect, so I clicked 'Ok'. Then it created an Untitled document (as it always does), except that this image is much darker than what was shown in the preview. I tried doing some light adjustments, can't get it to be what I saw in the preview window.
All of my other HDR creations were exactly the same as I saw in the preview window. What's going on?

One important thing to keep in mind is that what you see on screen when <br />working with 32-bit images IS NOT the actual image. There are no monitors at <br />least consumer priced monitors that can show 32-bit's of data. What you are <br />seeing is a faked representation. You will only see the real image when you <br />convert out to 16-bit or 8-bit.<br /><br />Also, many video cards allow you to set 32-bit color in the control panel <br />(Windows, can't speak for the Mac) this is NOT the same thing as a 32-bit <br />HDR image. The 32-bit color is the number of colors NOT the dynamic range <br />from darks to lights it is this dark to light data that can't be seen on <br />monitors.<br /><br />BTW I just recently learned this from a podcast from the digital photography <br />connection. The have Lightroom and Photoshop podcasts and just recently <br />covers HDR for both programs, this was covered as was PhotoMatix.<br /><br /><br /><[email protected]> wrote in message <br />news:[email protected]..<br />> Once you hit okay in the preview window and Photoshop creates the 32-bit <br />> image, you may want to try going to your view menu and adjusting your <br />> 32-bit viewing options.<br />><br />> [edited by host]<br />><br />> Hope this helps!<br />> -Kurt

  • HT1414 using Windows 7 OS, I had downloaded the new ioS 6 and started the update on the iPhone 4 and everything was going routine until the phone had been going thought what I though

I attempted to update my iPhone 4 from ioS 5 to ioS 6 from iTunes on my laptop using Windows 7 OS, I had downloaded the new ioS 6 and started the update on the iPhone 4 and everything seemed to be going routine until the phone had been going thought what I though was the update process, when an error window opened up and it said that an error had occured and the iPhone 4 could not be updated. I have never had a problem like this before and it caught me off guard and I did not note all the information in the error window, but it did not appear to indicate anything other than that I would have to abort the update and did not think it would be that big of a problem. I tried to disconnect the phone and was going to do the update at a different time when I could investigate what the problem was. However I could not get iTunes to recognize the iPhone 4 after this and still cannot. After rebooting the laptop a few times and also trying to reset the phone a few times as well, I just have a dead phone. The iPhone 4 just has the image of a USB cable with an arrow pointing to an icon for iTunes. I have tried to get iTunes to recognize the iPhone, but cannot get it to. I am unable to do anything else with the phone. It seems like the phone is in a state where it does not have enough software loaded to do anything or I don’t know how to get it to. Any suggestions how I can get my iPhone 4 back into service. Note: iTunes still recognizes my iPad and iPods, so iTunes seems to be okay to me. Craig

I had this problem on my iPod Touch 4g. Just press the home and sleep button. Wait and it will give an iTunes and cable logo. Now you can put in DFU mode (Hold Sleep and Home button 10 seconds and then release the power button kand keep pressing on the home button.) Now you will be able to restore it in iTunes.
If you didn't sell it in al this time

  • How to tell which photos in iPhoto are HDR images.

Does anyone know how to tell which photos in iPhoto are HDR images.  When I click on the Info button for the image it doesn't indicate if it was an HDR.
Does anyone have any information about this?
I'm using a new iPhone 5s with basically a new iMac.
    Thanks,
    Hagrid...

You can do a filter on your library with "File Status" is "Missing". The "File Status" query is not available by default, but you can add it by clicking the upper-right button in the filter window.

  • New iOS 4.1

The new iOS 4.1 gives the ability to upload HD videos - a welcome improvment! Proximity sensor, bluetooth and 3gs issues are said to be fixed. A new game centre dedicated to muliplayer games will also be added. 'High Dynamic Range' photos will also be included (the camera automatically brackets an exposure on either side of your picture then takes the best of the three for the final result). SJ said it releases next week. i.OS 4.2 will be released in November and is for the ipad.

This is not how HDR works nor how it was described. HDR is a composite of exposers, under, regular, and over. You will end up with 2 pictures, the regular and the HDR.

  • Cannot import new ios 7 filters to aperture 3.5

    Hi!
I have checked the forum for solutions but with no success.
I have imported about 500 photos from my iPhone 5 using a USB-cable to my Aperture App.
Then I upgraded to ver. 3.5.1. (I was at 3.4. something), because I realized that only the new version supported the new ios 7 filters.
However the filters still doesn't show, and I cannot select them in adjustments as some suggest.
    Any ideas?
    Thx

Have you reimported the images from your iPhone after upgrading to 3.5.1? You probably need to reimport using the new Apeture version to make the filters show.
What kind of filters are you asking about? Filters applied in the Cameras app, or filters appiled in the Photos.app or iPhoto IOS?
The filtered image needs to be saved to the Camera Roll again for the effects to betransferred to the Mac.

  • CS5 64 bit merging HDR image problem

    Hello,
I am doing a HDR image lesson (Adobe CS5 Classroom in a Book, page 139) using three .DNG files from the training CD.
If I use CS5 32 bit all (model's face and background) is ok.
If I use CS5 64 bit the image has bad background colors and a portion of the model's face is dark red.
So I a wondering if possibly the DNG was created by CS5 32 bit and cannot be opened and processed in CS5 64 bit HDR?
    Note:
Each DNG image looks good using CS5-64 File Open.
I have two jpg if needed to show.

Has anyone tried this on an installation of Adobe Photoshop CS5 or CS5.1, with an older version of Adobe Camera RAW installed?
I had this issue reported to me by a faculty member who is attempting to teach this lesson in one of our Mac Labs.  She has taught this lesson in the past without issue, but, recently reported this issue.  We recently upgraded our photography lab's equipment, which included new iMacs, and updates to software installed in the lab, including the CS5.5 Design Premium suite.  I'm able to replicate the issue on all the computers in the photo lab, with the same issue as others described above.  I then went to try to replicate the issue on my personal computer with CS5.5 installed, and, surprisingly, the HDR merge worked successfully.  The only signifigant difference on that computer was that it was running Adobe Camera RAW 6.6, rather than the current 6.7.  I then went ahead and updated the Camera RAW on that computer up to version on 6.7, and the problem doing the merge with these specific files returned as it had in the photo lab.
So perhaps this is a combination of 64bit and Camera RAW 6.7?  I can't get the 32bit workaround to work on the Mac's I'm testing.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Before/after: LR4.1 for 32-bit HDR images - wow!

I have given the new support in LR4.1 for 32-bit HDR images a try. I'm very impressed.
Here's an old version (Photomatix I think) of an HDR I shot a few years ago:
    Not so bad, huh?
Now look what I could do after creating a 32-bit tiff and importing into Lightroom:
The new defringing is awesome to have. The fringes can become so very visible otherwise when making HDR.
I've got all the gory details of how I did this on my blog:
    http://davidnaylor.org/blog/2012/05/lightroom-4-32-bit-hdr-editing/
Anyone else who has given this a spin?

Actually, I think I may have been wrong there. I believe I actually used
Photoshop to develop the old version. Even so, I prefer Lightroom's output
    to anything Photomatix would produce.

  • Tone Mapping & HDR Imaging

I am having trouble with learning a few things on PSE 11. I have managed to do my HDR images but I would also like to add tone mapping to single images the forums and tutorial videos only seem to cover these in the professional CS products. surley PSE 11 has this function though can anybody help as I say I know how to create a HDR image but not tone mapping on one single image.

Definitely wasted my money on this poor product. Thanks for all the help folks but think I may just give up on adobe all together and get one of the other editing software programmes. One that will allow me to carry out tone mapping on raw images and offer true hdr. The photomerge/hdr function is good but tone mapping gives better more professional results, so think I will go to another programme.

I don't believe you can add a true hdr plugin to photoshop elements because photoshop elements doesn't handle 32 bits/channel files
in the editor like photoshop cs2-cs6 can.
There are several free hdr programs if you want to try true hdr.
Then you can save the resulting hdr 32 bits/channel file as a tiff and open that file into camera raw from pse 11.

  • Cant able to boot new ios

    Dear Team,
I was deleted my Flash memory on cisco 1841 router. After that i tried to feed new IOS image from TFTP but unable to feed the ios to router...
I used these commands for in romman mode
                confreg 0x2142
                rest

You can connect the CF-card directly to your PC and  copy the IOS to it. Then change back the config-register and the router should start normally.

  • Poor streaming since new iOS installed.

I stream TV Shows from my TiVo to my iPhone and my iPad.  Both have been stopping and the indication is an unknown error or problem.  Are others having this problem.  It started after the new iOS was installed on both devices.  That is the only change made in the system before the problem started.

It sounds to me like you did a "copy tftp flash"
You need to issue the "archive download-sw /force-reload /overwrite tftp://10.0.0.2/c1200-k9w7-tar.123-8.JEB1.tar" command.
    10.0.0.2 being your tftp server
c1200etc being the image you want to dwonload. This will extract all of the relevant http files. any problems give me a shout..

  • Installed new iOS and camera won't work

I have been successfully using my iphone5 camera for over a year.  After downloading iOS 7.0.4 about 2 weeks ago, my iphone5 camera is useless.  When I select 'camera', my screen comes up either totally black or, other times, it shows an indistinguishable blurry image that is frozen on the screen.  Does anyone have a solution for this problem.  The phone's camera was working perfectly before this new iOS was installed.

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • Downloaded new iOS for iPhone 5. Now the handset is running hot, keeps freezing on different screens, won't charge on official charger ( only charges on crap poundland one) and battery is loosing 1% every two minutes!

Downloaded new iOS for iPhone 5. Now the handset is running hot, keeps freezing on different screens, won't charge on official charger ( only charges on crap poundland one) and battery is loosing 1% every two minutes! I've closed all apps and reset the complete phone but no luck. Any one know what else I can try apart from a new phone?

I have done a factory reset at 45% battery. After the reset it's still hot and at 35% now

  • Hi! I'm just having a little trouble when it comes to battery charging of my iPhone 5 with its new iOS 7! It doesn't indicates that the battery is fully charge unlike the old version of iOS! They said it should be pulsating but it's not

Hi! I'm just having a little trouble when it comes to battery charging of my iPhone 5 with its new iOS 7! It doesn't indicates that the battery is fully charge unlike the old version of iOS! I already read some reviews and discussion about this. They said that the lightning bolt should pulsate when charging but it's not!

Thanks for the replies. It took a while not hearing anything so thought I was alone. I have done many of the suggestions already. The key here is that it occurs on both phones with apps, and phones still packaged in a box.
A Genius Bar supervisor also checked his Verizon data usage log and found the same 6 hour incremental use. Suprisingly, he did not express much intrigue over that. Maybe he did, but did not show it.
I think the 6 hour incremental usage is the main issue here. I spoke with Verizon (again) and they confirmed that all they do is log exactly when the phone connected to the tower and used data. The time it records is when the usage started. I also found out that the time recorded is GMT.
What is using data, unsolicited, every 6 hours?
    Why does it change?
Why does it only happen on the iPhone 5 series and not the 4?
Since no one from Apple seems to be chiming in on this, and I have not received the promised calls from Apple tech support that the Genius Bar staff said I was suppose to receive, it is starting to feel like something is being swept under the rug.
I woke up the other day with another thought ... What application would use such large amounts of data? Well ... music, video, sound and pictures of course. Well ... what would someone set automatically that is of any use to them? hmmm ... video, pictures, sound. Is the iPhone 5 succeptible to snooping? Can an app be buried in the IOS that automatically turns on video and sound recording, and send it somewhere ... every 6 hours? Chilling. I noted that the smallest data usage is during the night when nothing is going on, then it peaks during the day. The Genius Bar tech and I looked at each other when I drew this sine wave graph on the log print outs during an appointment ...

  • I have a first generation ipad that I gave to my father.  He wants to download a few things and it says that he can't because he needs the new ios update.  When I try to download it it says that I can't.  Is the older version IPADS unable to update?

I have a first generation IPad and it won't let me download unless I update to the new ios system.  When I go to do that it won't let me do that either. What advise can you offer?  Thanks

Maybe a little more info would be helpful. How are you trying to update the iPad? What model iPad it is and what version of the iOS is on it now?
