New iPhone 5 gets 1 bar reception while my old 4S gets 5/5
I ordered my iPhone from Apple through the mail and so I had both my 4S (which has never had anything less than 5 bars steady service in my room, next to my new unboxed 5. The 5 (not active until the first call was made but still showing signal strength) only had ONE BAR, while my 4S next to it still held its steady 5 bars. I activated the new phone and was horrified at how sketchy my reception on it was. I was missing texts and calls. The phone was horrible. It had a pressure hairline crack (another wow moment) which appeared across the entire display two days ago (at the ripe old age of only four days old!) so I had it replaced today, it must be a hardware issue because this phone can't hold signal either! I have been watching in dismay as I've been typing this as my service jumps from 1 bar to 2 down to one and up to 4 and just fluctuates. I am returning this and going back to my trusty 4S if this isn't fixed.
Ps, I have AT&T and have NEVER had ONE problem with their service in my area.
iPhone 4S also always got 3 bars of wifi from the router in the NEXT ROOM, while my new 5 would fluctuate between 1 and 2, the replacement 5 is getting strong, normal 3 bars wifi, but again, same antenna issue as before - hardware flaw in the 5 antenna???

I have saved all my datas of my old iphone on itunes and icloud. I got a new iphone- went to sync with itunes just to get music and it restored my phone to my old phone's settings. lost everything including ALL of my pictures. Is there any way to unsync my phone so I can get everything back?!!! please say yes!!!!
In short. No, you cannot unsync. If you had a back up from your old iPhone you cand restore from a back up.
In iTunes go to Edit > Preferences > Devices > and select the latest back up.
Before you synced your phone did you have it set up with the PhotoStream or iCloud? The pictures would be saved there. Or if you had them sync to a file on your computer. -

Absolutely, Yes. I'm sure that many iPhones are "recycled" that way within a family.
The worst that will happen is that once in a while it will remind you to activate it as a phone. Just ignore the notifications. -
In between my new iPhone and a old one, I used a replacement iPhone. On the replacement phone there were two backups created. I have a new iPhone now, but only the 2 old backups from my replancement phone. How do I get a older backup on my new phone?
Not sure where you backup to.
ITunes keeps the latest backup only.
Icloud keeps the 3 last backup. -

Just to make sure - You're saying you had backed up your iPhone 4. When you plug in the 3GS, and try to "restore" the data from the iPhone 4 backup onto the 3GS, you get that error? Check to see if the iOS version is up-to-date, and hopefully it isn't. It might also be because your iPhone 4 wasn't, and is causing some sort of problem.

iTunes Match is a subscription system that allows you to upload your own music (e.g. coped from CDs) to the cloud so that it shows (in the cloud) on your devices and computers without having to sync/copy it.
Automatic downloads allows to, for example, buy an app on your computer's iTunes and have it automatically download on your phone without having to connect and sync it or go to the Purchased tab in the App Store app on your download and download it yourself - but doing that, going to the Purchased tab and redownloading an app, should get it associated.
But no, I'm not aware of any problems that not having it associated causes. -

I think I had it on the iCloud, I just changed computers and had part of my old computer backed up, where are the default iTunes info saved like the pictures and I know my contacts were backed up cuz I kept getting updated stuff that I wasn't sure about, but it was contacts where some belonged to my wife's contacts....but anyway, if the cloud backed up contacts, it should have grabbed pictures too? Like I asked before, if they were backed up to the computer, is there a default iTunes folder they are saved to? I had a crap load of pictures on there that I usually could really access if I was connected to wi-fi. I turned off my data stuff as I only have 4GB and between me and my 2 kids, we seemed to use up a lot of it. My son would play music from Pandora during work, and use up all our data til I limited him to only 3GB, my daughter and I barely used 1GB. Anyway, thanks to everybody that is answering. I thought I might have done good finding the dang sim card, but pointless I guess.
Ralph - F.Y.I. I would be happy to back up the iPhone if I could turn it on LOL......I am pretty positive I did, but what about Text messages? ANY of those saved too or not? Sorry guys, I don't know a **** of a lot about cell phones, but I do know about memory cards, but not sim cards that act like memory cards or look like them anyway. What is the purpose of a sim card if I may ask a stupid question since they don't hold any data from my phone stuff. regards,Apple ID? If so, Settings > iCloud > scroll to bottom and delete account (doesn't delete anything if you tell it to keep info on iPhone). Then sign in with correct Apple ID.

Thanks for the question. When it comes to iPhone, very little is stored on the SIM card. Contacts, Photos, etc can be backed up with iTunes or iCloud and then transferred to a new device. For information on how to do so, see this resource:

To resume use of your device as quickly as possible, turn it off, move it to a cooler environment, and allow it to cool down.

The iCloud is still in beta, and to the best of my knowledge is not yet available in the UK. So if you go to the home page of the iTunes Store and click the link for Purchased, I assume you will see options for Apps and Books but not Music?
Until the iCloud comes, the official Apple policy is that you can't redownload purchases, but some report that they are able to get an exception by asking nicely to iTunes Customer Service via their web page. No guarantees, but it is worth a try.
