New ipod touch won't sync with my iTunes

I am old time iTunes user who just got new Ipod touch. It starts to sync but at last step message is "Waiting for next stage" or something and it won't sync.  I tried everything I can think of. I have lastes iTunes version. My old ipod still updates and syncs works fine.

Maybe this:

or

If not what did the message say?

  • New Ipod touch won't sync with window's vista/itunes 9.2 - help!!

I charged my brand new ipod touch via my computer, have it plugged it into my computer's USB port, and Itunes acknowledges the device in the left hand menu BUT it automatically says "itunes could not connect to the itunes store. The network connection has timed out". The ipod will not sync with my itunes! I tried connection/disconnecting, turning the ipod on and off, and restarting the computer. No luck. What do I need to do? Please help, I was so excited to get the new ipod and now I can't use it! I have window's vista and I don't know anything about how to check or change computer settings that might be preventing the store from opening (it used to open, but I haven't tried in a while and I just downloaded version 9.2 today).

  • New iPod Touch won't sync with iTunes as iTunes hangs

    Hello,
I got a new iPod Touch yesterday after my old iPod Video died. Brought it home, connected it and all seemed fine until iTunes (that had worked flawlessly for years) just stopped (app stops responding).
I can kill the app and restart and it just starts over again, but never gets all the way thru sync.
I looked for a newer version but says I've got the latest.
Any suggestions? Don't suppose I can sync via WiFi?
    thanks,
    Chris

Hey Chris, I got this off iPhonenano.net
Occasionally your iPhone or iPod touch starts syncing when you connected it to your Mac only to drop out of the sync process. Even worse, once the cycle stops, it continues every time you plug your handheld in. This fix is fairly easy, but you won't find it in iTunes. You'll know know if you are suffering from this little headache because your iPhone or iPod touch will begin the sync process, but stops unexpectedly. iTunes will display a dialog warning you that your handheld stopped communicating and the sync process was cancelled. Here's how to break the cycle so and sync as normal again:
Connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your Mac/Pc
After the sync process fails, launch iSync. You can find it in your Applications folder.
    Select iSync > Preferences.
Click the Reset Sync History button.
iSync will display a dialog explaining what happens when you reset the sync history. Go ahead and click the second Reset Sync History button.
    Quit iSync.
Now you should be able to sync your iPhone or iPod touch again without any hassles. Since your sync history has been reset, your first post-rest sync may take longer than you expect. Depending on how much information is stored on your handheld, that could be a few extra seconds or several minutes.
    Hope this helps,
    Arnie

  • New ipod touch won't sync with pc

i got an ipod touch today and when i connect to to my pc i cant sync it.
both the ipod and the pc play the "device connected" sound and when i first put it in, the windows device manager thing installed it, but itunes doesn't open when i connect it, and there is no devices list, also the "sync ipod" option in the file menu is greyed out.
i have looked at the help page, and when i opened "services.msc", apple mobile device was not on the list.

I am having the same problem. I get a message that says the hard drive on my iTouch can't be accessed. The device shows in the device section of iTunes, but it will not sync.

  • My Ipod Touch won't sync with my Itunes acount, and  it won't restore. What do I do?

    Yea.....Help?

If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • New ipod touch won't work with itunes 10.6.3 says it needs 11.1 but I cannot load that on my macbook using OSX 10.5.8 any way around this?

New ipod touch won't work with itunes 10.6.3, says it needs 11.1 or newer but I cannot load that onto my MacBook running on OSX 10.5.8 - is there anyway around this?

No. If your MacBook has an Intel processor you can update to OSX 10.6.8 and then install the latest iTunes.
A 5G iPod with iOS 7 requires that if you have a Mac you have OSX 10.6.8 or later.
    You can get 10.6.8 here:

  • New iPod Touch won't sync reminders

New iPod Touch - iCloud not syncing contacts, calendars, reminders, bookmarks.  Restarting apps or device does not help.

Are you trying to sync these with another iOS device?  If so, are you signed into the same iCloud account in Settings>iCloud?
Also, did you check icloud.com from your computer to see if your data is there?

  • My new ipod nano won't sync with my new itunes?

I have purchased a new ipod nano and for some reason it won't sync with my itunes.  Please help

Make sure the Enable disk use option is NOT ticked from under the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes. If you do have to remove this tick mark, be sure to hit the Apply button in the lower left hand corner of the window in iTunes to update the changes to your device. Then try restoring it again.

  • New IPod Touch will not sync with Itunes-updated to iOS 7.1.1 for new IPod

Just purchased new IPod Touch (purchased 6-3-14 - had a Classic until it fried). After setting it up, I tried to sync to ITunes and it says it syncs but does nothing. No music transferred to IPod. I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8 if that means anything. This is very frustrating as I am not a computer whiz and really want to use my IPod in my really long commutes to work. Thanks for any insight...

    Hi abbeyesque,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like your iPod touch is recognized and syncing, but it isn't transferring the content that you expect to be transferred. Take a look at the article linked below, it will show you how to select the iPhone in iTunes and where the tabs are (second picture) that control what is synced to the iPod.
iOS: Syncing your data with iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386
    Sync using USB
    Open iTunes.
Connect the iOS device to your computer using the included USB cable.
Click the Device button in the upper-right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button first.) If you don't see your device, you may need to hide the sidebar. Choose View > Hide Sidebar.
Some tabs may not appear if you don't have the corresponding content in your library. For example, if you don't have any podcasts in your library, the Podcast tab won't appear.
Click Apply, in the lower-right corner of the screen, to sync.

  • My new iPod touch won't sync?

I got a brand new iPod touch today for Christmas, and got it all set up and everything was working perfectly. About an hour ago though I went to add more photos to the album I have synced to my iPod. When I plugged the iPod in it said "Waiting for sync to start" up at the top for about 5 minutes, then a screen popped up that said, "Amy's iPod cannot be synced because the sync session won't start" or something to that effect. No biggy I thought, I googled how to fix it and a discussion on here suggested a backup and restore. Now sense I've done that, all my music is off my iPod and I can't put any songs on because it won't sync. Can anyone help me fix this problem? Thanks in advance!!

    Something similar to this?

  • New iPod Touch, won't sync purchased songs from iTunes library on new "authorized" laptop.

I must have missed a step.  My old windows laptop died.  Tried syncing iTunes library from old laptop to new iPod touch.  Didn't work.  Downloaded iTunes to new windows laptop.  Logged into iTunes from new laptop and Authorized new windows laptop.  Uploaded a few CDs into new laptop's iTunes library.  Old purchased songs appeared on new laptop, however only uploaded songs from CDs will sync to new iPod touch.

  • New iPod Touch won't sync to new Macbook Pro?

I'm getting really frustrated because Wednesday a brand new Macbook Pro and today I got a brand new iPod Touch. I connect it to my computer and it chimes, shows that it's charging, but doesn't show in itunes. The screen on my iPod is the "connect to iTunes" screen. I've tried restarting the iPod & computer, connecting & reconnecting the USB cable, switching ports, etc. I really don't understand why two new devices don't work together. Any help??

Which version of iTunes does your new MacBook have? You will probably want to update it if it isn't 9.2. Do that first. Also, restart your MacBook book. That will make sure that everything else is working properly as well (I'm thinking USB ports).
If your touch is still not recognized, you will need to make sure that Apple Mobile Device Services is running properly on the MacBook. See this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747
And if you are close to an Apple store and tired of playing with it, make an appointment with Genius and take your MacBook and touch in and let Apple fix it.

  • My new Ipod touch won't  work  with my Alpine CDE-125BT car stereo.

I bought the new Ipod touch. I am dissapointed because I can't get it to work with my fairly new Apline car stereo. This radio has an ipod cable which worked with my ipod classic. I called alpine they told me to buy the Apple 30 pin to lightnig adapter, I did and it still didn't work. The radio also has bluetooth. I was able to connect  ipod through bluetooth, but music wouldn't play through the radio. Is anybody having the same issue as me and is there any advice. Thanks.

Have you looked at the previous discussions listed on the right side of this page under the heading "More Like This"?
It could be that the car system is not compatible with the iOS on the iPod. Sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility. I would pursue that with the car system manufacturer. Ask it they tested the car system with a 5G iPod with the adopter.

  • New iPod touch won't sync to Mac.

I just got a new iPod touch, & it says to plug it into my computer & iTunes will come up. But it hasn't. iPhoto has come up instead! I am extremely confused, & this has never happened before [I've had 2 iPods before this] I've searched the website & called the people, but they don't know what is wrong. Please help!
It is also completely charged. Plus, I have manually opened iTunes myself & still nothing has happened.
If anyone has any ideas, then please contact me at ZOMGCarina at aim dot com
Email or IM is fine. I also have MSN, ZOMG.Carina at hotmail dot com. Same thing goes for that one as well. I will most likely forget the link to get back to this, that it why I'm offering my screen names. Thanks in advance. :] <3

I assume you are using a Mac. To stop iPhoto from opening automatically, open "Image Capture" in your applications folder. Go to Image Capture -> Preferences -> Camera and set it to read "when a camera is connected, open No Application." You can still use iPhoto by starting it yourself.
Plug in your iPod again. Make sure you are using a USB 2.0 slot directly on your computer, a USB hub should not be used.
If you start iTunes and it doesn't show your phone, you might need to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service. Check out this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747 for instructions.
PS: You'll get a lot better advice here if you go to "My Settings" in the box to the right under the Welcome and fill out some information about what model computer and what operating system you have.
