New monitor now screen way off center at proper resolution

Hi
After my monitor died I got a 24" LED Combo Television/DVD player FLDC2400 60hz, 1080p resolution by Fluid.  The guy in the shop said it would work as a computer monitor.  The only problem is that when I have it set to the recommended resolution (I clicked on that 'detect' button in the control panel display settings) the image is clear and sharp but waaaaay off to the right, cutting about 1/8 of the display and leaving a thick panel of black over the other side.  If I make the resolution lower it centers again but then everything has that low quality fuzzy bloated look to it.  Is there something I can do so that the proper resolution screen works?
Thanks!  And if anyone is kind enough to answer please know I am a computer dummy so explain things as you would to a five year old!!! :-)

I have read your post on how your new monitor displays the desktop screen at an improper screen resolution to the far right. Does this issue occur when connected to a different computer? What is the resolution set for your desktop? I would be happy to help you, but first I would encourage you to post your product number for your computer. Below is a is an HP Support document that will demonstrate how to find your computer's product number.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Please re-post with the necessary information, this way I will be able to research this further for you. I look forward to your reply!

  • Macbook Pro to TV via HDMI - image way off center

Early 2008 15-inch Macbook Pro to TV via HDMI worked at first, now image is way off center on TV (like only showing a sliver of the computer image at the edge of the TV screen). Philips says it's an issue with the computer settings, not the TV. Any suggestions?

  • Why does my keyboard repeat keys and the screen goes off center?

Keyboard repeats letters, erases multiple letters and generally goes crazy. Also screen goes off center and too large for frame.

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

  • Screen is off center

I just got my macbook pro through fedex today
When i turned on my lovely new macbook pro, i noticed the viewable screen is slightly off center to the left.
I had mine upgraded to hi-res, and was wondering if everyone is having the same problem or if i should take it in for a replacement.

I would imagine this is a setting on the TV itself, refer to the manual that came with the TV.

  • IPod screen crooked/off center?

    Hi everyone,
I just wanted to see if anyone else has had any problems with their iPod screen being crooked or off-center. Specifically, it looks like the LCD is crooked inside of the casing of my iPod. I have now gone through 3 5th generation 60gb iPods, and they have all had noticebly crooked screens. The latest one that I received as a replacement is now relatively straight but is very much off-center through the viewing window in the casing of my iPod. Does anyone else have this problem, or am I just being picky? It is very distracting to me when I am watching videos, and since this is a big investment for me, I want to make sure I am getting the product in the right condition. Thanks for your help!!

Thanks. I searched the forums and only found a couple of other complaints, so I didn't know if it was just me or not! I called support today and they are sending me a box to send my ipod in for replacement. I don't want to be picky, but for almost $400, I would think I could get a straight and centered screen!

  • FaceTime camera appears off-center

I noticed today that on my iPhone 6 the FaceTime camera on the front appears way off-center. I've attached a photo, but it's a little hard to see. It doesn't seem to interfere with the camera, but I don't really know that without a comparison and I haven't seen any other iPhone 6 in person to compare how it looks. Should I
take this in to have looked at?

Here's a clearer photo. The lens does not appear to match up with the cut out or something beneath the glass seems to have slid over. I guess I can always just pop into an Apple store and ask them about it, but I was wondering if anyone else's looked like this.

In order to have the page load correctly, have to manually resize the page.

Using my Canon D7 in Yellowstone and the metering spot? in the LCD screen is off center to the right.  I was shooting in AV mode.  Don't know how to get it back to the center of the screen.  I am a newbie to this camera.  The autofocus spots seem OK.

  • Quick Time Player Opens Off-Center

I use QT 7.7.2 and, when I open videos in the player, the pane is reduced from full screen and off center.  To play it I have to drag it to the left to reveal the controls at the top right, then click to go to full screen.  I have to do this for every video clip.  How can I get the player to open in full screen, please?  I am sure it's a simple setting.

Most pages are defined to be a certain size, regardless of how large or small your monitor is. You can use Firefox's zoom feature (View menu) to enlarge the text and images (or just the text, if you prefer) on a page.
In addition to making individual site adjustments, there are some add-ons that will default every site to a higher zoom level. For example, check out:
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6965/ Default FullZoom Level]
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2592/ NoSquint]
    Does that help?

  • 2013 27" iMac using mini displayport to VGA, external monitor off center.

I recently purchased a new 2013 iMac 3.5 i7 and connected two external monitors. The minidisplayport to DVI adaptor works fine on one monitor but the minidisplayport to VGA is off center on the 2nd monitor. There is a 2" black band on the left side of the screen. I've replaced the adaptor, cable and tried on two different monitors. I've also tried repositioning image in the monitor settings which it can't move far enough. It only happens on 1920 x 1024. Any other resolution is fine. Other than that it works fine, but this space is going to drive me nuts. Because these are 23" monitors I really would like the highest resolution possible. I'm stuck. Any thoughts?

Update: I switched to DVI and it worked perfectly. I guess there could be an issue with the mini displayport to vga adaptor on the 2013 iMac. I also tested it on a 2012 mac mini and the vga operated as it should.
