New option: "Export XMP when idle"

like many, for performance reason i do not have "Automatically write changes into XMP" checked. yet i am a firm believer that the changes *belong* in the files themselves (for portability), so i must constantly do manual XMP exports when im finished w/ a set.
in my book, "dumb" (not image-specific) manual steps are, well, dumb, and should be removed for an ideal workflow.
therefore, i think it would be cool if LR handled XMP-to-file in a slightly different way -- a new checkbox for:
"Export XMP metadata to files when idle"
...so whenever you leave LR open and you arent doing anything w/ it, it will auto-export all not-yet-embedded XMP changes to the files. this gives you portability, and piece of mind at no manual cost.

Creating a New option in Leave absence form

In leave absence work flow i want to give a new option for the leave approver along with the Accept and Reject. The new option is Forward. when he choose this option the absence form has to go to his superior officer. How to do this?

You Need to have at least one substitute who can act upon work items in case of forward .
The Substitute agent would be able to see all your work items. A substitute cannot be assigned for only particular area of organization or any other item. So need to ensure that the substitute have the necessary authorizations to act upon the work items.
Procedure:
1.      Go to SAP Business Work Place (TCode: SBWP)
2.      Now from the menu bar, select Settings a Workflow settings a Maintain Substitute
3.      Highlight/Select the name on the window, in this case SAPDEV02 and click on u201CCreate Substituteu201D.
4.      List of users available in the system are displayed.
5.      Select the required substitute user name.
Validity field describes about the period in which the setting would be active. Note that the dates on the screen would range from the current date to 31st Dec 9999.
Important:Regarding the checkbox u201CSubstitution activeu201D, it is advised to leave this checkbox unchecked for system performance reasons. A check in this box indicates that the substitution is u201Cpermanentu201D and if left unchecked it is treated as u201Cas-neededu201D. A permanent substitute will automatically receive the primary users work items in their own box. In the case of u201Cas-neededu201D, substitute must manually adopt the work items from the primary useru2019s inbox.
6.      Save the entries
7.      Click Enter to leave the screen.

Update "when new" option in the EO

There are 2 projects, one with Bussiness component and the other with JSP's.
In the EO for an attribute if I set it as updatable "When New" option instead of "Always" or "Never", then it works properly when I test my AM. ie. We can enter a value for his field only at the time of insert. Once we save we can only view the value, we can't update it.
But the problem is in the other project when we run the Insert JSP we cannot enter any value since there is no text field for this attribute.
In the Edit JSP also it is like this. Ofcourse in the Edit JSP it should not allow us to update so the text field should be display only & that is coming correctly but how can it come as a display filed in the Insert JSP ?
In that case there is no difference between setting "Updatable Never" and "Updatable When New".
Please clarify .

Actually my JSP has exactly the same code as u have sent. I have included "Code" in my setDisplayAttributes() method also. The label for this attribute appears but adjacent to it there is no text control to type the data when I insert data.

How to create new SVG export option

I need to create a new SVG option to work with exportFile(). The new option will allow me to place a tag on in my exported SVG file. I'm not finding hints in the delivered documentation on how to do this. Could someone with experience in such, please point me to a resource that will help me.

Plugin to export XMP

I'm new to Lightroom plugin development, but I am quite familiar with the Lightroom application, SQL, and Lua. I really dislike how Lightroom does not allow XMP sidecar files for JPGs, even though that situation hardly occurs, it bothers me. So, decided to try to make a plugin and although the documentation is pretty good, there aren't many forums to ask for help.
Here is what I think I need to know how to do:
Is there a way of getting at the SQLite database directly?
The SQLite table Adobe_AdditionalMetadata has an xmp text column. It seems like it would be simple to export this to an .xmp file. I don't see any way of accessing it via the LR API though. Access each develop setting individually sucks because I'd have to construct the XML file, and even then, I wouldn't be able to access snapshots.
Is there a way I could trigger an export of the XMP file?
It seems as though the LR API works off context menu events, not Lightroom events.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Funny coincidence, I just wrote a little XMP extractor plugin this afternoon, it's implemented as an export filter plugin. (It is going to be a part of a bigger plugin later on.)
I need it to extract developed XMP data, so I just use export original option and insert this plugin as a post-process action. If the original is TIF, JPEG, PSD, DNG then the XMP will be embedded and I then use exiftool to extract it. For other RAW files, LR exports XMP itself.
Btw, LR export is quite fast when exporting original images, because it does not need to actually render any pixels...
Plugin is available from http://www.capturemonkey.com/xmpextract in case you want to try that approach.
There's no source there, but it is basically just calling exiftool inside postProcessRenderedPhotos method, less than 20 effective lines anyway

Windows always shows lock screen when idle, ignores setting

On Windows 8, I had my computer set up so that the screen would turn off after a period of inactivity. When I would move the mouse or press a key, it would resume without asking me to log in. After upgrading to Windows 8.1, it is now always showing me the
lock screen when resuming from idle. In the lock screen settings, I found a new option named "When my PC is inactive, show the locks screen instead of turning off the screen". I have disabled this setting, but my computer still locks every time the
screen turns off.

Synchronise new option in sld

                Earlier if we create a technical system /businesssystem or softwarecomponent in an sld we used to explitly export it into our desktop and import it into the target sld , But now we got new option that is synchronization ,does any body used it succesfully ,
i have a doubt if the target sld is not properly synchronized to the source sld then if we chose this option i think it may
not work because synchornizataion is nothing but always incremental export and only full export if it is first time export.And this way of transport can be done only if both are in synch.
What is the case if the both sld's are not in synch and can we use this trnasport procedure. Can any body clarify to my point. whether i am right

Hi ,
First of all to sync the SLD both the SLD must be at the Same CIM model and the CR Delta. Then you must check all the system in the Central SLD are updated properly.
There is setting in the Visual admin of the Child system to send the data to the parent SLD system when ever chnaged.
Visual Admin -> Services -> SLD datasupplier -> second tab is the place where you need to enter Paent SLD in the Child system.
Please refer the not to update the SIM and the CR delta to bring the SLD to same version.
Refer SAP Note 669669 to upgrade CIM model
Setup/Confirm local SLD to send data to Central SLD
NOTE u2013 Do not perform this step until the local SLD has been updated with the latest CIM model and CIM Data/Content as per the Central SLD.
-     Open the Visual Administration for the local SLD instance
-     Goto server  services  SLD Data Supplier
-     On u201CHTTP Setting (Data Supplier)u201D on bottom tab, enter the information specific to STD (Central SLD)
-     To test the connectivity, trigger data transfer to Central SLD by clicking on Lightning Bolt icon on top.

you are right, it works in the 'mother' page, but if I want to add some options from popup window (window.open...), and when I accessing combo throught opener propery, than I have problem, because it is not working!?

MacBook Pro OSX 10.6 drops Wi-Fi connection when idle/asleep.

My MacBook Pro OSX 10.6 has begun to lose Wi-Fi connection when idle. I can't re-connect unless I shut down computer and re-start. Worse, the system appears to lock up--I can't force quit, must press the power button to shut down. This problem occurs wherever I am using my laptop, not just with one particular Wi-Fi network.

I have been having the same issue for the last two weeks. No real indication as to why it ever began other than I had turned off my router and Airport Extreme Base Station off for a weekend while I was away from my place.
iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, all have no issues at all with my Airport Extreme Base Station. Can stay connected throughout my living room, bathroom, bedroom, no issues whatsoever.
My 5 month old MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz Core i7 Airport is sometimes perfect, able to connect, DHCP, and browse without issue. Then, for no reason, I won't be able to join my wireless network, or when I can join, I can't pick up an IP address. And then it will connect, pick up and IP, and then it won't browse. No real rhyme or reason to when this will happen, or when it works.
I thought that it was an issue with my MacBook Pro, but then my sister visited with her brand new MacBook Pro 2.26 Intel Core 2 Duo, and while a month ago she was able to connect, DHCP, and browse without issue, this weekend she had all of the same issues I was having.
My XBOX 360 and MacBook Pro have absolutely no issues with the wired connection. Only my WAN seems to have this issue.

Call the apple store you got it from and ask them. Sometimes in the past they've extended the 'no questions asked return' but only Apple can tell you for sure.

Your i-device was not designed to be a reliable unique storage for your media. It is not a backup device and everything is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself backed up. Sync transfer is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer. If the computer has nothing on it, the device is set to match the computer's content -- nothing.The exception is purchased content.

Element Entry not showing up for new option in a plan after Open Enrollment

I had to add a new option in a plan. I have defined the option, added it to the plan. I setup 2 standard rates for this option; one non-tax and the other taxable. This is an odd example because 1 certain employee falls under Group Health Employee plus Spousal Equivalent Plus Family. Last year the employee had Group Health Employee plus Spousal Equivalent but he still is not married and now has a domestic partner child. So they have asked me to create this option in the Group Health plan. Everything works fine when i choose the new option while the open life event is in started status and i can designee the spousal equivalent and the domestic partner child. But when i close the open life event and go to people and maintain and go to assignment to view the entries this employee has Group Health EE and Group Health EE Taxable still there with an end date of 1Jan08 and when i day track to 2Jan08 he does not have this entries there? What am i missing here? Also, when selecting the option in benefits service center if you scroll to the right there are no rates defined for this option.....but under standard rates i have defined a specific rate to this option and correctly filled out the level, compensation object, activity type, tax type, usage, element, input value and assignment to use. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I've discovered that the problem is that there is no new file for the new blog entry. The other blog entry was published to the site folder before I was online but now when I hit the publish button it goes straight to uploading to my site, and the new entry doesn't show up as it has no file in the folder. How can I get it to publish to the folder before it uploads?
