New tab asks for credentials

I can not seem to figure out why every time I open a new tab firefox prompts me for an LDAP login requested directly from contribute.mozilla.org. Each and every time I open a new tab I must close out of this as I do not have these credentials and it really puts a hiccup in what I'm trying to do, every single ctrl+t. Please help me solve this problem for good. Thank you.

Well, I took another look at the tab screen and saw support.mozilla.com, so I shifted through and unpinned everything mozilla as the LDAP login is requested from our browsing developers. It appears after replacing all items with other websites I visit, the problem has disappeared. For me, I can verify that is indeed the solution, simply removing anything mozilla.
Support.mozilla was the only page related to firefox pinned at the time of this problem but I also made sure non of the other firefox links were pinned. Will add them to the bookmarks bar if needed. Thank you for your replay and help in this matter. A long overdue annoyance is finally fixed.

  • Outlook 2013 asks for credentials but does not connect for Exchange email, but only when out of office

    Hi,
New employee wishes to use his Office 365. Have loaded onto new PC, connected to exchange, loaded his folders, everything is fine.
When he leaves the office and connects at home, he is asked for credentials.
I have tried the usual credentials: [email protected] and domain\user
With each attempt, Outlook displays disconnected
The password is correct, OWA he can log on fine, he has no problem when returning to the office. He has all the correct permissions in AD.
No other user has a problem when away from the office, but every other user is using Office 2010
    Advice appreciated.

    Hi,
Please make sure the user has enable Outlook Anywhere in Outlook.
To turn on Outlook Anywhere, on the Connection tab, under
Outlook Anywhere, check Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP, and then click
Exchange Proxy Settings. Your Exchange admin must enable this feature and provide you the proxy settings. For more information, please refer:

  • Not being asked for credentials in SSRS 2008 R2 for Firefox and Safari

I have an instance of SSRS 2008 that is currently working on all browsers (the URL is something like reports.foo/reports).
I spun up a new instance of SSRS and placed it on the url report01.foo/reports.  This new instance is connected to a different domain (I am spining up a Active Directory Domain and trying to build out our infrastructure, so the logins are different).
I am able to access the new URL (report01.foo/reports) from IE and Chrome.  It is asking for the username/password and able to get on just fine.
However, when I try to go to the new URL (report01.foo/reports) using Safari and Firefox, it never asks for credentials and shows a blank page.  This does not happen for the old URL (reports.foo/reports), only the new URL.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Ben,
Per my understanding that you have configured windows authentication and which by default will not prompt for credential. So I assumed you have changed the User Authentication setting in the security setting to pop up for credential, for example like below(IE),
If so, your issue about the pop up credetial not pop up in Firefox and Safari can be caused by the related security setting, If you give Anonymous User rights, you may got the blank page:
Details information about similar issue in threads below for your reference:

If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • Outlook asks for credentials 2 times

    Hello,
I'm in the middle of a transition from SBS 2011 to 2012 R2. Currently Exchange 2010 and 2013 co-exists. Every time I start Outlook (2013)  it asks for credentials. If I use [email protected] format it does not accept. If I use domain\user format, I
have to enter it 2 or 3 times, then Outlook works fine.
OWA, AS, mail flow seems to be working.
What can cause the password prompt?
    TIA

    Try out the following fixes:
Try to recreate the outlook profiles. Also, Check "Credential Manager" in Control Panel to see if there are any old entries for Outlook.
    Refer: http://myitforum.com/myitforumwp/2013/02/05/solution-outlook-200720102013365-prompts-me-for-credentials-each-time-i-open/
Change the authentication to NTLM instead of Basic Authentication and see if this makes a difference.
    Uncheck the Exchange proxy settings
    Uncheck the "Download shared folders"
File -> account settings ->account settings -> Edit.. (account) -> More settings... (button on the bottom) -> Advanced (tab) -> Un-tick "Download shared folders"

  • 'Connect As' doesn't ask for Credentials

I'm new to Macs, and I'm trying to connect to my QNAP NAS from a Macbook Air on Yosemite.
The first time I tried to connect I used the 'Connect As' and entered a incorrect password. (I as did not add this to my KeyChain).
I've checked my KeyChain and can't see an entry for it in there.
Every time I attempt to connect now, it uses the incorrect password, how do I get the 'Connect As' to ask for credentials again?

If a system becomes unresponsive and does not allow you to login anymore then the problem might be due to a serious shortage of CPU, memory or disk resources. For a remote connection it cannot be said for sure because the problem can also be network or routing related. Try to login directly from the system console. If this is no longer possible, then the system "interrupt" or "reset" button is your best friend. When the system restarts, press any key to get into the grub menu and add the word "single" to the kernel parameter line in order to start the system in single user mode. Then analyze what the problem was.
Btw, here is a recent post regarding a script that fires an email when a system is running out CPU and disk space: CPU and File system Altert Perhaps you will find it useful.

  • SBS2008 in combination with Outlook 2013 keeps asking for credentials

I've got a SBS 2008 server with windows 7 pro clients.
Some of them use outlook 2010 and some use 2013.
The users which use the 2013 version has a problem with saving of the credentials.
Every time they start outlook 2013 they will be asked for credentials and some of them 5 times before it starts.
The weird thing is: if you click ESC to close the screen that asks for the credentials, outlook still connects to the mailbox.
Is there someone who can tell me how to fix this problem.

    Hi Willy-Billy,
Any update? Would you please let me know the current situation of this issue?
In addition, would you please let me confirm something more?
Please check if problematic user accounts access mailbox correctly via OWA.
If you create a new outlook profile for a problematic account, will encounter the same issue?
As mentioned in the link that Robert provided, please check if you enable
Always prompt for logon credentials setting in Outlook 2013.
If you enable this setting, please uncheck and monitor the result.
Meanwhile, please remove the old credential in
Credential Manager, then add again. Please check if this issue still persists.
    Please run
SBS 2008 BPA to collect SBS configuration information and analysis. Then check if you can find some clues.

  • Outlook 2010 keeps asking for credentials

    Hello,
We have a Exchange 2013 server with outlook 2010 clients wich constanly ask for credentials.
even with the option save credentials on.
The Exchange servers are hosted and the clients are not part of a domain and use Outlook Anywhere.
Outlook 2013 clients do not have this problem.
    I tried several things:
    -new profile
    -rename ProtectSystemProider folder
    - dword registry Savecredentials
    - removed ProtectSystemProvider registry key
    - Removed or edited credential manager accounts
We have this problem on serveral Windows 7 clients and Remote Desktop Server 2008 r2 sessions.
    Hope anyone can help me.

    Cris

    Hi Cris,
Please try to clean up the cached credential in your computer. Then fill in with the format of UPN when it prompted for credentials next time and check the Remember my credential to save it. About how to remove cached credentials, please follow these steps:
    1. Launch the Credential Manager from Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Credential Manager.
    2. In the Generic Credentials section you’ll see a setting for [MS Outlook] which will include your SSO details. Click the downward-pointing arrow to the right of that value.
    3. In the expand details, click Remove from vault. Then Outlook will no longer have a stored copy of your password.

  • Lync 2010 client asks for credentials when outside of corporate network.

    Hello,
We are running Lync 2010 Enterprise. Everytime our Lync users are outside of our network and they log in to their Lync client, they get a pop-up window asking for credentials. When they log into Lync inside our network the Lync client connects automatically
without asking for credentials. Is this normal behavior? I assumed that the Lync client would behave exactly no matter where they were connecting from. They are using Lync 2010 client on domain joined laptops, I would assume the Lync client would just use
the same credentials they used to log in to their computers and not ask for anything. Please let me know if there is a way to stop the pop-up from showing up when people try to connect to Lync from outside our network.
    Thanks for any help!

Outside of the network the credential popup is for Exchange web services on the back end to check calendar info, contact lookup, etc.  If Lync is already logged in when they see the popup, this is normal behavior.

  • W2008R2 trust with W2012R2: Synology diskstation asks for credentials

    Hi,
    I have a 2 way trust between a Windows 2008 R2 and a W 2012 R2 server which works fine.
I can access shares on both sites without a problem. Then I have this Synology diskstation which is added to one of both domains. I can access the shares of it in 1 domain, but in the other domain I'm asked for credentials.
    Please advise.

  • Onedrive asks for credentials, but only asks email address as office account. Nothing happens !!!

My personal experience with OneDrive is still a nightmare.  Onedrive is asking for
credentials, but it is only requesting the account, so there is no place for password. At the end, I can't provide the credential.
If you think that the only solution is to repair, or resync again don’t ask again
because my data files are too much. I can't do this every day.
The repair option is useless because it Syncs again the whole content. Is this repairing?
    OMG !!!
Please I need a solution for this.

Just press the "Enter" key instead of the "Next" button. That worked for me.

  • Shared Public folders keep on asking for credentials

    Hello
My problem is less complex than it might look like, it's just difficult to explain correctly. Now:
I have multiple computers on my home LAN, with various user accounts, without a HomeGroup. They all share some files, have a "Private" network, Public Folder Sharing enabled and "password protected sharing" disabled.
    So their configuration is identical.
These computers are 2 Windows 7 PLK computers, one Windows 8.1 ENU, one Windows 8.1 PLK and finally one 8.1 branded by Lenovo. I'll call them 7, 8EN, 8PL and 8B to avoid lenghty phrases. And now the part that makes no sense at all:
Here's my problem: Win7 computers can easily access Win8 shares. It works both ways: all Win8 computers can access the Win7 shares. But... 8EN cannot access the 8B shares without asking for credentials (?!). Those are the same files that are being accessed
with no problem by any Win7 or even WinXP machines. I can't share anything in 8 without making other 8's ask for credentials(but 7 works). Moreover - I can provide a random string as a username and no password and I'll get the access to the Public folders.
So the access is there, but I have to provide any credentials to reach it. Without it, the first try is rejected. It's clearly wrong.
HomeGroup helps. But I don't want a HomeGroup, I switch places often, HG annoys me and finally - I don't want to sound rude but "a proper way is to use a HomeGroup" is not an answer to "why did the sharing between my 8's stopped working while
nobody else seem to have such problems with their 8's, and 7's work fine".
What on earth could possibly make it happen? I reinstalled my Windows 8 and they still cannot communicate with other 8's? Is it the language? but the PLK is just a language pack, the insides are still ENU.
Thank you for any help and have a nice day!

    Hi,

  • Outlook 2010 + Exchange 2010 keeps asking for credentials - Please Help!

    Hello All,
Recently after a Windows Update + restart of my Exchange Server I'm having an issue with Outlook 2010 where it continually asks for credentials. Every 5 minutes or so the credentials popup appears and either typing your password or clicking cancel will make
Outlook work as expected again until the next popup, frequency of popups is about 2-5 minutes give or take. I am using Exchange 2010 on Server 2008 R2 and aside from the popup everything is working as expected. This seems to be effecting almost all users.
Some things I've tried already include:
    - Removing any saved credentials on computer
    - Removing and recreating Outlook Mail Profiles
    - Running "Set-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory -Identity 'autodiscover (default Web site)' -WindowsAuthentication $true -BasicAuthentication $false" in shell to disable basic authentication for autodiscover
    - Running "get-outlookanyhwere | set-outlookanywhere -ClientAuthenticationMethod NTLM -IISAuthenticationMethods NTLM" in shell to ensure that outlook anywhere and IIS are using NTLM authentication
    - Ensuring that the OAB folder permissions are set to allow Authenticated Users to Read/Execute
Anyways, if anybody has additional suggestions for me I'd very much appreciate them. Many users are using the Web App for the time being (with no issues) since the credentials popup is too annoying for them.

So I made sure that all of my authentication methods match the settings you linked me and then recycled the app pool you mentioned but am still having the issue.
One thing I noticed is that if a user experiencing the problem types their password into the credentials popup it will keep popping up continuously but if they hit cancel it says "Needs Password" where it would normally say "Connected to Microsoft Exchange"
and if they simply click once where it says "Needs Password" then all of a sudden it switches to "Connected to Microsoft Exchange" again and they no longer see the popup until Outlook is restarted.
Just to verify I have the proper settings now this is what shell returns:
    [PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory | fl *auth*
    CertificateAuthentication     :
    InternalAuthenticationMethods : {Ntlm, WindowsIntegrated, WSSecurity}
    ExternalAuthenticationMethods : {Ntlm, WindowsIntegrated, WSSecurity}
    LiveIdSpNegoAuthentication    : False
    WSSecurityAuthentication      : True
    LiveIdBasicAuthentication     : False
    BasicAuthentication           : False
    DigestAuthentication          : False
    WindowsAuthentication         : True
    [PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory | fl *auth*
    InternalAuthenticationMethods : {Basic, Ntlm, WindowsIntegrated, WSSecurity}
    ExternalAuthenticationMethods : {Basic, Ntlm, WindowsIntegrated, WSSecurity}
    LiveIdSpNegoAuthentication    : False
    WSSecurityAuthentication      : True
    LiveIdBasicAuthentication     : False
    BasicAuthentication           : True
    DigestAuthentication          : False
    WindowsAuthentication         : True
Do you have any additional suggestions that I can try? From what I can tell my authentication methods all match the default settings now.
Edit: As soon as I changed EWA to just Basic Authentication as it says in the linked default settings I would get an error when trying to browse to the EWA that said "Outlook failed to initialize" and re-adding the Windows Authentication, then running iisreset
fixed the issue. Therefore EWA is the only service with non-default authentication methods now.
