Nexus 5010 Won't Load System Image - Stuck at Boot Prompt

I have a 5010 that simply won't load any system image.  Loads the kickstart image just fine, but once at the Switch(boot)# prompt just give me garbage when I enter "load bootflash:n5000-uk9.5.1.3.N2.1b.bin

  • Safari won't load some images (after upgrade to Mavericks from Lion)

    Hi,
I've noticed that since I upgraded my OS from Lion to Mavericks, Safari won't load all images on certain websites.
I've tried loading the same pages on my daughter's MacBookPro (she upgraded from Mountain Lion to Mavericks) and everything works just fine.
We cross checked the Safari preferences and everything is identical.
Below are two pictures, the first one taken from my computer, the second one from my daughter's. As you can see, in the first photo the image won't display, while it's been perfectly loaded in the second photo.
    Here's the website: http://blog.alice.tv/berengario/2013/11/16/trasmissione-su-arturo-tv/
I've tried opening the same page on Firefox, and all images are perfectly displayed.
    Could you please help me?
    Thank you for your support!
    Kind regards,
    Leo

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Safari 7.1 won't load large images on MacBook Air. Turning off Auto Graphics is not an option.

When I try to load a large image with Safari 7.1, I get a black box instead of an image.
Chrome and Firefox load the image just fine.
This is a known problem and others have resolved it by turning off Auto Graphics Switching.
However, my version of MacBook does not have the capability to turn off Auto Graphics Switching under the Energy Saver preferences. (I guess I have the GPU or chip or whatever that doesn't provide that option.)
    Are there any workarounds?
Here are two threads about the same problem, but the solutions don't work for me:
safari 7 won´t load large images...
Safari 7.0.1 does not load large images

    Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
"Develop" menu will appear in the Safari menu bar
    Enable Images.
Make sure that"Disable Images" is not enabled.
    Best.

  • Firefox won't load check images from my online bank.

Firefox won't load check images from my online bank. It had been doing so with no problems, but stopped 2 days ago. I can get into my account and navigate with no problems. But when I click to see the image of a check, I get a blank page.
I am using Firefox 3.6, but I have the same problem on my laptop with Firefox 4
It works fine with Safari and Internet Explorer.

If you can't open them in Firefox anymore (you seem to have a plugin: View PDF documents within your web browser) then download the documents to the desktop and open them with a program that can open PDF files.
See also to be sure that that plugin is still selected:

  • USB recovery disk won't restore System Image - U410 internal harddrives don't load? Error 0x80042414

Hello all. My name's Richard and I have a problem.
My U410 was stolen (bastards!) on Christmas Eve (double bastards!) but I had an old System Image saved on an external hard drive. So I bought exactly the same laptop second-hand intending to restore the image.
However, when I try to restore it via Control Panel, after the restart the computer tells me I have to do the restore process from a Windows System Repair disc instead, because it needs to reformat the drive that the Restore Environment is running from. Obviously, the U410 doesn't have a CD drive, so I made a Windows 7 64 bit USB restore drive, and moved the USB drive up in my boot list so I can boot from it.
This lets me get to the stage of selecting my system image from the external hard drive. The restore process starts for three seconds, then I get error 0x80042414: the system cannot find the drives onto which the image should be copied.
I've done some digging around and used diskpart to discover that the two internal hard drives aren't loading / aren't visible when I boot from the USB. When I run diskpart from windows I have four disks: the USB, the external hard drive, an 8GB one which I guess is the SSD and the 698GB HDD. When I navigate to the command promt in the Recovery Environment diskpart only lists the USB and the external hard drive.
So I'm thinking that the internal drives aren't loading up for some reason when I boot from the USB. Is there any way round this? I've tried the 'load drivers' function in the Recovery Environment but even when i save all drivers listed for the internal hard drives onto the boot USB key, then navigate to them and try to load them, each one just returns "the selected file contains nothing about your hardware".
I'd be so grateful for any help. I was so sad when my laptop was stolen, so happy when I discovered the system image, so sad when I found out I needed exactly the same computer, so happy when I found one online, and now.... i'm emotionally exhausted.
    Thanks guys,
    Richard

    Hi Richard,
I'm sorry you had to go through some pretty emotional trauma with your U410 getting stolen and all. However, I do hope you are back on track now.
I haven't been as unfortunate as you. However, I need to restore Win 7 on my U410. I have with me the recovery disks purchased from Lenovo. My question is, were you able to get the image onto a USB disk to perform the restoration? If so, could you point me to some instructions?
Seriously, Lenovo ships laptop specific recovery images on optical disks for their laptops that do not have optical drives. Makes no sense to me. It's time they sell recovery images on USB drives.

  • Loader won't load large images

I have some pretty large PNG images stored in a database (example 1000x15000 px, 4.5MB). I am trying to load this using the Loader class...the problem I am having is when I call load(), nothing happens. No events, no errors.
I can take the same image and embed it. As long as as I set the height to less than 8000px it works fine. If I convert the same image to a ByteArray, and try to load that byte array nothing happens.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Hmm, so at this point I am just trying to load the image into memory and not display it. I don't really need to display it at full size. Are you saying that I can't even load the image at all?
I haven't tried stitching. It seems like a lot of effort and I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that. Additionally, the data is already stored as a single PNG file in the database so I don't know how I am going to break it up. I was hoping since I can display the embedded image at 8000px high I could do the same thing with the ByteArray.
Flash isn't even throwing an error so I can't even tell the user why the image isn't loading. Since the Loader won't load it I can't determine the image height.

  • Firefox won't load google image search results

Firefox won't load google search results. It will load the page of results with the thumbnails etc. but if you click any of them, just a loading spinning icon appears on the tab and it never loads.
    I have tried:
Both logged in and out of google account,
All other areas of google work with no problems (news, shopping etc.),
Site working perfectly in Internet Explorer,
    Running firefox in safemode,
Manually disabling all plugins and addons,
    Clearing the cache and cookies,
Opening results in new tab just results in white page with web address but it never loads,
Restarting both my PC and router.
It's not been working for at least the past 6 hours. Last time I used it was about a week ago and it was working fine then. I've not noticed any problems on any other sites this week that I can recall.

Updating firefox to version 17.0 appears to have solved this.

  • IPad won't load website images

I am trying to load a website on my iPad using safari. When I go to the page it does not show all of the images. I spoke with support and they said that it was due to the way the website creater created the website in relationship to tying the images to the shopping cart part of the code. Support was unable to have all pictures load when on a second iPad and also on a Mac. However when he tried firefox it worked just fine which means it's a problem with safari and the coding only on apple products as the website loads just fine on a pc using safari. Does anyone know if there is plans to allow safari to accept this type of code?
The website that I am trying to reach is:
    Jaimelee.scentsy.us/buy
Any knowledge or help would be great!
    Thanks

I followed the steps that you listed and had no luck in getting the images at the lower half of the site to load. I know that they top three or four images load, but the rest shows up as a blue box with a question mark. Did you happen to get the site to load completely all the way down?
    Thanks
The problem with this site is that the images which don't show are being delivered from the server extranet.scentsyoffice.com with an https secure connection.
    An example is: https://extranet.scentsyoffice.com/Scentsy/Shopping/Images/PSW-TWIG_thumb.jpg
This secure connection requires a valid server certificate, however, the server certificate is recognized by the iPad Safari browser as invalid and the images are not displayed. Note that if you try to display the link for the jpg file above on iPad Safari you will be given a dialog to accept or reject the invalid certificate. Once you accept the certificate you will be able to display the original page and see all the images.
If the certificate is indeed invalid then other browsers (e.g., Mac Safari or Firefox) are apparently overlooking this deficiency for jpg files.
The site should probably check into this and, if the certificate is, indeed, invalid, correct this problem.

  • Firefox won't load/show images on some websites with Disconnect add-on enabled

I've been having trouble with Firefox not loading images on some websites. I tried clearing my cache/cookies, checking permissions disabling the AdBlocker add-on but nothing worked. I've attached a screen shot of the page info for one of the pictures that didn't load. Something was changing the picture's file type to 'text/html.'
I finally gave up and reset Firefox and that solved the problem. I began slowly adding back my previous add-ons and found that the Disconnect add-on was the cause. I've seen this issue discussed here and on other support websites as well as Bugzilla so I just wanted to offer up my solution in case anyone is having the same issue and can't pinpoint the origin.

I also wanted to know if anyone has any alternatives to Disconnect that don't cause this to happen.
ETA: I've replaced it with Ghostery and that looks be working great without blocking any pictures.

  • Safari won't load bank images

I'm using Version 3.0.4 (5523.15) of Safari on a MacBook Pro Intel Dual Core with OS X 10.5.2. At my bank's site is offered a provision to view images of transactions such as checks, deposits etc. Safari comes up with a big red sign saying images can not be accessed. I can access the images on this same computer when running either Internet Explorer or Foxfire, and my Dell with Internet Explorer also has no trouble.
I would appreciate help or thoughts on what in Safari may be preventing this. I have cookies enabled, am not blocking pop-up windows etc. Everything else seems to work fine, except that much needed feature.
    Thanks.

Sorry, that should read "Firefox" above.

  • OS won't load from ide hd during boot

I recently purchased an k8n neo platinum mobo and got it all hooked up and ready to go. I intended on using the hd from my old system which already had set up windows xp pro with service pack 2 installed. I was then going to install another copy of xp on another hd and use the old hd until I got the new one all set up and ready to go. I turned on the system and the boot sequence appeared to go fine until I arrived at the point when os should have started from my ide hd. I received the message "error loading os." I thought I would try another hd and try a fresh install of windows xp pro. This appeared to work just fine until the first reboot after copying files on the hd. At this point the system boot cycled normally until the same point as the first hd but I got the message "no os installed." I also tried to install windows 98se but the same thing happened. I checked with each configuration and the bios does indeed see my hds. I went into dos mode and was able to view the contents of the drives as well. I simply cannot get the os to load. I have carefully watched the hd led on the front of the case. It lights up when I first turn the computer on, runs during the startup picture, and never comes on again. It's as though the mobo loses the ability to control it after a bit.
Here are the specks. the only things on the mobo are ultra ddr 400 256 ram, an Nvidia tnt2 pro video card with 32 mb ram, an hp cd rw, and an  maxtor 80 gb hard drive. (these are the specs from the fresh install).  I only work with one hd at a time. The other hd is also a maxtor 120 gb (with windows xp preloaded.
PS. Yes I have successfully loaded os from hd from other computers on new systems MANY MANY times before. It does work. You just have to install all the new drivers once windows starts and sees new hardware (just as though you have just added new hardware). Try it, it does work.
    any help would be great

At the risk of becoming repetitive - If you are doing a fresh install, it is often less error-prone to only have the drive you are installing onto connected whilst you install - connect the other(s) afterwards.
Of course your old drive wouldn't boot into the OS- did you really expect it to? It would have had a load of device drivers (amongst other stuff) from your old system on it.

  • TPT2 will not load Windows 8, stuck on boot menu

    Hello all,
It's my first post on this forum, and I'm having issues with a Thinkpad Tablet 2.  I can power on the device but then it goes to the boot menu, which is empty.  From here I don't know what else to do, as I cannot find any way to access Windows 8.  I took it to a shop here in Toronto and they said that the boot menu being empty means that it isn't detecting any of the hardware that is connected to it and that it is most likely a hardware issue.  They told me to go to Lenovo for assistance, but I wanted to check here first to see if you folks have got any advice for me.  I've attached photographs of the empty boot menu anfd main screen of the Thinkpad setup, not sure if there is any relevant information in there.  What should be my next step?  Thanks in advance.

Hi there !!! I have exactly the same problem with my Thinkpad Tablet 2 (64MB). The only difference is that in my BIOS option UEFI safe boot is OFF. I tried to use recovery tool, Lenovo Diagnostic tool and even WindowsPE, but tablet simply cannot see any USB or any other devices. in startup/boot section is ONLY ONE POSITION: ! 1. Windows Boot Manager and I cannot boot from USB... I will be very grateful for any kind of suggestion (well, perhaps except suggestion to throw it out through a window). With kind regards Marco Polo

I feel your pain, I went through several installs of a Samsung SSD. First SSD died within several months, the second one  did too (refurbished btw, Samsung won't give ya a new one) and had to do it again. Myself I keep debating whether to worry over the data I have and just do a complete clean install each time. This last go round I did a 'clone' of the HP provided OS with all the bloatware and junk on it and since have found that there is a way to do a windows only install using ABR(autobackupand restore)utility that'll record all your proprietery data like COA key so when you do an install you won't have to keep verifying it every 90 days...BTDT. Found that one on this forum as a good way to do an OS install and keep the original code applied to the new install.
All the really important (to me) stuff I keep on an external hdd or big thumb drive, speaking of which theres a 64 gb 3.0 usb on Amazon for under 30 bucks including shipping, ya can't beat that. All my games and stuff I have on seperate HDDs with none of that RAID business.
Found out the hard way in order to use the HP recovery discs the pc has to be put back in its original form. I had put in another drive (solid state) and a better graphics card and better RAM sticks only to find that I had to go back and put all that out of the box stuff back in to get the discs to work....they were giving me red alerts in Command Prompts or CMD.  I had never seen Red CMD it was one of those **bleep** moments,  spending half a day googling led to to someone who had been there and done that (btdt) HP won't let you put their OS on another Hard Drive which I think is stupid..the disc knows if the drive is different therefore the bright red CMD window that blinks in your face and doesn't have the courtesy to tell you to change equipment.Oh well time to quit blathering.

free disk space on each volume if folume size is more than one gigabyte.

according to this, a 100MB partition (a drive less than 500 megabytes) must have 50MB of free space.  as you know, Windows automatically creates a hidden partition of 100MB on installation.  that partition contains more than 50MB of data and, therefore,
obviously doesn't have the minimum 50MB of free space required by Windows' Create a system image utility, yet the Create a system image requires that the 100MB partition as well as the C drive and the Recovery partition be included (the checkboxes beside each
one is checked and grayed out, so none of the three can be unchecked).  so it appears that Windows has designed an installation default (automatic creation and filling of that 100-MB partition) that conflicts with Windows' own Create a system image utility
    and prevents it from working.
what is the workaround or solution to this problem.  I will be replacing my primary 1TB HDD with a new one and need a way to back up my system to a portable/external USB 2TB HDD and then to transfer the image back to the new internal HDD once it's installed.
for clarification, this is NOT about backing up my files, so please do not reply with suggestions about archiving my folders and documents.  my system is set up the way I want it, with all my personalized settings and configurations, all of my software
is installed, all of my shortcuts, saved context menu data, folders, etc. are where I want them and installing a fresh copy of Windows and all my other software and then redoing everything I've done to get the system set up the way it is will take DAYS of
exhaustive, laborious, and time-consuming effort.  Microsoft apparently intended to provide a solution by creating the Create a system backup option, but it doesn't work, so what is the solution?

    Hi,
In my opinion, about this problem, there is no relationship with 100 system reserved partition. Moreover, according to the error message, it should be the drive which you wanna store system backup image file doesn't have enough space, not 100M system reserved
    parition.
System reserved parition used to store system startup bcd file, bootmgr, necessary file of Bitlocker encryption. This drive won't affect system image backup process.
Therefore, please check the shorage drive capacity if it is meet the backup requirements, also you can check Event Log if it identify the problem.
