NFC & Sony RC-S380 - No Tag Detected Events

Building a retail kiosk using a modern app that needs NFC tag support.
I have the external Sony RC-S380 NFC reader/writer and it shows up on my laptop as a Proximity device. Calling ProximityDevice.GetDefault(); returns the device, but the DeviceArrived event never fires when an NFC tag is tapped on the reader.
The native diagnostic tools show the reader is working properly and the tags are recognized.
In the Windows System event log, there are a series of Error 610 events logged when a tag is tapped on the reader. "
Any ideas? Are there any other supported external readers? I could not find any besides the Sony device.

Looks like if you can get the device by DetDefault(), you definitely can work together with Windows Store App by register a
ProximityDevice.DeviceArrived | devicearrived event, however I'm not able to know what Error 610 means, any detail information you can share with us?
And what is your native diagnostic tool? How could it tell you the tags are recognized, is it possible that the device is used by your tool so that your app cannot get the correct information from device?

PVC2300 - Alternative to Motion Detection Event / FTP Upload

Hi Cisco Community,
My apologies if I am not posting this in the correct section / allowed to post here.
I've got a PVC2300 mounted inside a pelco enclosure that is positioned 6 meters high. Sometimes the motion detection event doesn't work to well (this is due to the fact that its in an enclosure and pointed out towards the ocean at a beach location).
Also the motion detection event is pretty much useless at night without surrounding illumination.
In Australia we also have severe lack of broadband speed and also download allowance, therefore it is not practical to broadcast streaming video (we would get charged excessive fees for exceeding download quotas and only one person could view the camera at any one time).
I've written a custom windows service that reads the PVC2300's MJPEG stream over http at a specified interval and saves a single .JPG file in which the windows service uploads the .JPG file to a specified website. This means that you will always get an updated image from the camera every 5 minutes, rather than based on motion detection. It would have been nice if cisco / linksys implemented this within the camera's firmware (maybe in a future version?).
Anyway, communities share things with each other, so i've made the software freely available to anyone who wishes to use it. I would appreciate any feedback from Cisco / Linksys.

You came to the right place and thats a very cool post IMO.
First, thanks for using Cisco Small Business products and you can look forward enhancements and options in our line, of course. I think I noticed your other post mentioning you are in Australia? We have a few really top BU folks (TMEs and Biz Dev) down under and they are very active in the BU solutions area for Small Business. Do you know Leah Davis and Dave Harper (they are Participants on this community as well)?
In any event, I think compressed streaming is a very valid design idea and we are actually looking at similar partners in the US experimenting with the same. In one Partners case he has a lightweight application (java) that runs on your mobile and allows all the mobile streams to come compressed from a server farm.
Typical use case is a Day Care where 15 parents want to watch the same camera, and the compression benefit becomes crucial in scale. But your case is a financial one (therefore good too) where you would have to pay for streaming video.
While we dont offer this today (the external managed service that is), I am sure you have played with the camera GUI and realize you can try some of the following to reduce bandwidth
1- lower quality of video (resolution, FPS, illuminate Audio, etc)
2- reduce motion detection size (seconds)
3- Purchase a local NSS2100 or NSS3x00 to store High Quality video on the LAN and only alert for motion via email (not realy friendly for remote monitoring I admit).
For sensitivity in an enclosure, have you played with Sensitivity settings thresholds in the Camera GUI under motion detection?
For night illumination without an external IR Illuminator, have you tried the 'night schedule', which activates (or deactivates) the IR Cut Filter?
For the periodic updates, I'll let Davin Oishi comment as he is about ready to announce the PVC300 and I know it offers a browser based periodic refresh and I am not sure how far he has extended that to an API for external access.....

RFID tag detection failure on Logout and Login to MI Client

Hi,
We have implemented RFID in our MAM3.0 ; application. Every thing is working fine after login to client and could read the data from the tag. But once logout from the client (by clicking on logout from MI client) and login again, I am unable to read the data from the RFID tag. Seems that it is not connecting to the RFID reader. I am getting CAF exception and RFID read exception.
I am using MI2.5 SP 21 Client

MBP connected to Sony LCD 46X350A - No Signal Detected

Need help.
I've tried connecting my MBP to my Sony LCD via the VGA output (I believe that's what it is), via the cable supplied when I bought my notebook, but the message on the LCD says no signal detected.
I've went into the System Preferences, Displays and the MBP definitely recognizes that it is connected to the LCD, but I cannot get any picture (No Signal Detected Message on LCD) either by mirroring or using the LCD as an external monitor.
Any thoughts or suggestions from anyone?

Im having a very similar issue. I was happily using my MBP with an external Acer Display connected, until that display simply stopped working. It now only says 'No Signal' before shutting off. Zapping the PRAM and the SMC didn't get me anywhere, so I'll be taking it to the Mac Store tonight. I'll post what they'll tell me!

Error in form submit through netui:anchor tag onClick event

I have an onClick event as I want to implement some customer logic on click of the anchor tag.

In the searchCustomer method of the controller, the form has zero parameters. The customerName has null value.
Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong here.

I also want to add a confirm() dialog before submitting. However, setting the onClick handler overrides the one generated when formSubmit="true". I worked around this by calling the generated function directly:

Where [msg] is the message to display and [formName] is the name of the form containing the anchor.

PCIe-6321 & ConfigureChangeDetection C# - Need to "debounce" the detection - event triggered multiple times

I am working on a C# NIDAQmx application for a hardware configuration that uses a PCIe-6321 to interface with downstream hardware. There is a DI signal from a manual switch on the downstream hardware that I must monitor for the start/stop signal for my application's data acquisition operations.
I was having inconsistent results using the ConfigureChangeDetection NIDAQmx functionality. So I used the ReadDigChan_ChangeDetection sample and using Debug.WriteLine statements have verified that when the switch on the hardware is toggled, multiple ChangeDetected events are thrown before the signal settles into the actual High or Low state.
Since I am not a hardware guru, I consulted another engineer, and was told that this is common with switches, and the signal and/or change detection needs to be "debounced".
Can this be done purely through additional configuration of the NIDAQmx DI task? I saw properties for digital filtering, but don't understand their use. I looked at the ReadDigChan_ChangeDetection_DigFilter sample, but it seems to imply that some other DI needs to be connected on the card to be used as the filter, which I don't have. Only one DI is coming from the downstream hardware.
Any help and/or advice will be greatly appreciated.

So i started playing with the corresponding properties in the C# task, and it looks like I may have to only set the following properties:
myTask.DIChannels[0].DigitalFilterEnable = true;
myTask.DIChannels[0].DigitalFilterMinimumPulseWidth = 10.240000e-6;
According to error messages, the DigitalFilterMinimumPulseWidth for the PCIe-6321 can only be set to specific values.
Using this in the ReadDidChan_ChangeDetection_Events sample appears to be successfully debouncing the ChangeDetection events to only 1 per physical switch toggle.
If this is not the approach I should be using, please advise otherwise.

Detecting Events in a report

I'm trying to detect when a user double clicks on a selection screen, how to detect that this has been done and call some code.
I have the code for radio button etc.. which you set using the PF-status screen, but how do I detect when a user double click a line, and details for that line?
AT SELECTION-SCREEN.
   PERFORM check_fields.
AT USER-COMMAND.
IF sy-lsind = 1.
     CLEAR w_list_screen.
ENDIF.

I understood that you want to raise an event when the user double click on a particular line in the report output. For this,
If you are using standard PF status (ie. you have not specified a PF status) then use the event AT LINE SELECTION. For getting the field you have double clicked use the command HIDE. Please have a look at the help of these two.
If you are using your own PF status, then give a status code for 'F2' and write the code in the AT USER COMMAND event as you did for others.

Detecting events in iTunes

I've only spent 30 days with AppleScript, so I'm still asking questions like "Can AppleScript get messages or does it only send them?"
Here's what I'm getting at. Is there a way for an AppleScript to detect when iTunes changes tracks, when it reaches the end of a playlist, or if the user changes iTune's playing state?
Similarly, can a script detect when the user opens a new movie in QuickTime (or selects a new movie).
I'm imagining in pseudo code:

on QuickTimeEvent theEvent

end QuickTimeEvent
Anything like that?
In other words, does iTunes send a message when such event occurs. If not, then my script must regularly get the state of those properties from iTunes and determine if they've changed, correct?

What you're asking for is a feature known as attachability - the abilty to attach a script to an application.
It is possible to do in AppleScript, but the catch is that the application developer has to specifically support it in his app. Like the vast majority of applications iTunes doesn't do this.
The only way you can do what you describe is to periodically poll the app to find out what it's doing. iTunes supports a 'player state' property that tells you what it's doing, plus a 'current track' property that identifies the current track being played (if any).
Something like this should work (untested):

Sony Z2 sim is not detecting

I purchaged Sony Z2 two months back and it was working fine without any issues. But all of sudden Sim card is not detecting in phone. i thougt may some Mobile network problem later realised it's phone problem. I did restart pf phone couple of times but still the same . Is there any way to make my works as normal ?

How to change behavior of Select tag onKeyPress event

I am populating a netui:select dropdown with a list of around 1200 items. Since it is so long, I would like to allow the user to type in the box to get close to their selection. Right now, the default behavior is to allow only one character to be typed to locate an item.
I would like to change the behavior so that when the user quickly types three characters (or more), it matches the selection to the three that they typed. It seems to be firing on the onKeyPress event. Is there anyway to modify this?

But for free amount of lines : Keep that text under LOOP. Right click on template or window and create a loop and under that loop keep the text ,you can get many lines. or the given below point plzz follow.

In SFs you can insert the standard tests using the TEXT node. Create a TEXT NODE. Then in the GENERAL ATTRIBUTES of this TEXT node select INCLUDE TEXT in the TYPE option. Then if you dont want any error if there is no text in the corresponding text then CHECK the check box "No errors if no text available.

Sony Smartwatch 2 - device not detected when plugging into laptop

Hi, When plugging my smartwatch 2 into my laptop I get that the USB device cannot be detected / no driver error and PC companion doesn't recognise it too. I know it's not a laptop issue as I connect my Xperia Z tablet and Z1 phone to it fine. Any help would be much appreciated. Gavin

The SW2 isn't a device that will be detected as an external device being connected - Updates are done via an app update and apps are done via the phone - So you can't transfer files to it merely charge it via your Laptop

Adobe Reader Plug-in - Detect Events in Javascript?

Hello,
Does the plug-in provide events that Javascript can handle? I have code that will trigger the printing to starting showing the print dialog via javascript. I want to know when the user got rid of the dialogbox by either printing or canceling. I don't necessarily need to know which button they pressed but that would be ok too. If it's possible, can you give me a sample code of how I can do that?
I am using IE as the browser.

Sony TVR120E is no longer detected by iMovie (4 - 5)

A combination that worked fine in the past (my camcorder and Panther with previous version of iMovie) does result in "No camera detected" in Tiger with IMovie 5.0.2. I have tried a many of the suggestions presented in the many threads in this forum, except for buying a new firewire cable. (The cable has not been removed from the iMac in the past, but today I have re-started (and waited) with cable and/or running camera (un)attached.
An accompanying symptom is, however, that System Profiler simply lists one Firewire bus, and my iMac has two busses, with one of them a cable attached.
Has someone already found a definite solution (the Garageband trick did not help and neither the strict sequence of starting up and lauching iMovie) ?

I need more info. Did you upgrade from iLif4 or is this a fresh iLife install or only imovie HD install?
I could afford to make a mistake in my experiments because I've got another mac to fall back on. I could do a fresh OS install & try again. So I don't want to give you info that may make it worse.
Having said that, here is what is working for me now. I trashed all references to iLife 5 & reinstalled from disk. Imovie remains at 5.0 only. As I've said in other posts, 5.01 & 5.02 brought on the problems rather than improve things.
Of course, then do all the usuall utlity things .....

I updated to Quicktime 7.01, although 7.0 worked fine for me too.
Last time I updated iPhoto, all photos were greyed out. They became .tiff
I've got every version of imovie 2.1.2 onwards. Even the infamous 3.0x works well.
I'm just completing an 18min. project for a video production house with imovie 2.1.2 Why? Because it's alot quicker all round.

Can't help you with internet stuff. I only use the imac for video related stuff. If we were talking PC, I would say "REVERT " to a previous config. Mac's don't have that useful feature.

Can I programmatically trigger a menu item tag selected event?

I am trying to trigger a menu item selected event using built-in vi's. I want my Handle Menu vi to handle the case where the user checks on a boolean control as well as slected the menu option. I don't want to use POSTMESSAGE with acceleration key combination. Are there any built-in vi's which can "post" such a message?

I have a similar situation and understand why adding a message to the menu queue would be an elegant solution to the problem.
I have lots of menu bar selections in my program, and I would like to set up a button bar like most applications now have. To do this using the "in parallel" way becomes a ratsnets of wires and would take up a lot of window space.
I have attached a file that is a good example of how to solve this problem with Event Structures in LabVIEW 6.1. It doesn't take up much additional diagram space and it can be quickly and easily reconfigured.
It would be nice if future versions of LabVIEW had a more integrated button bar.

Thoughts on using a Sony Vaio with CS5 for HD event video projects?

Basically I would need to use my Sony Vaio F12 laptop to edit HD wedding videos on CS5. I wanted some opinions on my equipment so i will be able to edit a long project(about an hour to 2 hours) smoothly with no dropped frames, errors, system crashes, etc. So I would basically i need a setup that can keep up.
Specs: Sony Vaio - Intel Quad Core i7 1.73 Ghz(Mobile version), 6 gig ram, 500 gb 7200 rpm HD, Nvidia GeForce GT 330M(1GB dedicated video memory)
I know I would at least have to use an external HD from the video and audio. I have a 1TB Samsung Story external USB and another 1 TB one that is eSata but am having problems with the esata port on the Sony.
Would this be adequate or would their be some obvious areas that you could see causing problems? I'm thinking the USB external might cause a bottleneck for one.

The assumption for why there is negligible performance gain is incorrect. If they changed the speed of the CPU and had an understanding how CUDA works they would probably have seen that. The GPU can only perform as well as the CPU allows it. What this means is the CPU has to process the threads before sending the appropriate data to the GPU for processing via the System ram. There are many factors that effect CUDA and especially performance with the MPE. The biggest though is the processor. If you set a GPU monitor utility, you can monitor the activity on the GPU while the CPU is at stock speed and then at overclocked. You will see a sizable difference in performance/usage on the GPU and GPU ram based on the speed of the CPU. What this tells you is that the GPU may be the best performing you can get but it will sit more than 90% idle if the CPU is taking to long to process the data it requires. CUDA sends threads to all available CUDA cores and is not limited at all like CPU threading. It literally just throws threads out there to the cores in simple terms. The assumption is incorrect in the link you reference.
