Nice design: A bunch of calendar appointments that are impossible to delete

Where I used to work, we had an iCal server through which people could schedule meetings. Those appointments got synced to my phone.
I don't work there anymore, and I've deleted the "work" calendar off my system and synced. But my phone is still full of appointments from the deleted calendar, and it's impossible to delete them. Inexplicably, they lack "Delete" buttons. Look at this garbage:

What gives?

If you are now syncing calendar events direct with iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process, under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes below the Advanced section, select Calendars for replace info on this iPhone. Select Apply followed by a sync.

  • Why can't I receive email calendar appointments that are sent to my email address, that i can confirm/deny etc?

A friend has to send me a monthly notification to attend a meeting, and her email is always blank, with no details of the time or date of the meeting and no tabs to reply/ confirm my attendance.
All the other committee members get the appointment details and a request to hit a tab on the screen to reply, but I don't have this. Do I need to set this up. I don't work so its just a home pc with nothing set up?
She now has to send me a separate email to tell me the date/time etc of each meeting, but I feel sure this could be very easily rectified! -
    Thanks a lot

Try signing out in System Preferences>iCloud and signing back in again. Your data will disappear when you sign out but will return when you sign back in.

  • I need to able to search for calendar entries that are over one year old.

I am an old Palm OS user and have used the calendar on it to track my clients visits/service for the last 15 years.  By searching the customers name on the palm, it would bring up every entry I had keyed in for them, so I could immediately know how old their equipment was, what service had been done, etc.  I also used the calendar to track my daily and weekly sales.  I was disappointed to find that the ipad does not search for any entries older than one year.  Is there something that can fix this or is there an app that could be used in the way the palm was?  Thanks

Well, that would depend on what calendar you are using.
If you are simply relying on the calendar on the device, well, that's not very smart.  Restoring from backup should put everything back.
If the calendar is synced with another service, like Google, iCloud, Exchange, do the entires still exist there?
If the calendar is synced with Outlook or iCal on your computer, do the entries still exist there?

  • How can I find calendar items that are missing?

I just went to do a mileage report for the past month and every item that is not a recurring item is missing. Is there any way to recovder these items?

Calendar events are part of your iPhone backup.  If you synced with iTunes while these events were still on your phone and haven't synced again since losing them, restoring from this backup should recover them.  Note: restoring from an earlier backup will revert all data and settings on your phone to those in the backup, not just your calendar.  If you have newer data you must save this before proceeding.  Then do the following:
Without connecting your phone, open iTunes on your computer and go to Preferences.  On the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".  This prevents you from inadvertently overwriting the backup you are trying to restore from by triggering an automatic sync when you connect your phone..
Now connect your phone to your computer, right-click on the name of your phone when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar and select Restore from Backup, choose your most recent backup to restore from.
When complete, you can go back to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and re-enable automatic syncing.

  • Outlook 2010 hotmail calendar's reminders are being automaticly deleted

Probably after an automatic windows update session, on my laptop, my Outlook 2010’s Hotmail Calendar (connected to my mobile via MAPI) started to delete “only”
the reminder set for an event. Strangely same reminder stands active as you check the same event both the outlook.com and my mobile.
As it is being auto deleted (!) over my laptop’s Outlook it doesn’t pop the reminding sound nor show up on the reminders window as its time comes.
    System: 64 bit Windows 7

    Hi Murray,
    Thanks for your update.
I found a related thread for your reference:

Please also try to run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
Please also try to run some Outlook Switch to refresh the calender reminder caches, then try to create the reminder again. Switch commands as below:
    /cleanreminders
    /cleanroamedprefs
    /cleansniff
Since this issue doesn't relate to Exchange server, and sorry for the lack of knowledge on Outlook in depth. I also suggest asking Outlook Forum for help so that we can get more professional suggestions. For your convenience:

  • HT1688 why am I getting appointments on my iPhone calendar that are in blue and they are not syncing with my Mac Book calendar?

I started getting appointments I create on iphone 4s in blue instead of the green that is usual.  I am also noticing that these appointments that are in blue are not syncing with my other calendars on my other devices.  Icloud is enabled and calendars is checked.  This just started happening...

    Hello jricks8
Check and see what calendar it is being added to. You may see it something that is local to the iPhone or another sync service that is not setup on your computer. Check out the page below to find out more information to sort you out.

  • Outlook 2007 Calendar Appointments have stopped syncing with iPhone 3GS and Vice Versa.

Outlook 2007 Calendar Appts have stopped syncing with iPhone 3GS and Vice Versa. Only noticed in last month or so. Help required please.
May have been after an iTunes update.
Have upgraded to latest version of iTunes and iOS but to no avail.
Contacts sync OK both ways, it's just Calendar Appointments that don't.
Any ideas and assistance greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • E71 Calendar appointments not syncing with Outlook

    Hi there,
Through MFE, I synch Outlook 2003  with the E71 to update email, calendar and contacts.
Recently, the calendar function is not syncing correctly.
    Issues are:
    - Items will drop out of calendar sporadically
    - When I resync to add in dropped off items, they are still missed out
This makes me think it is a particular feature of the appointments that are stopping them being pulled across but there is no common factor amongst all the appointments.
Vodafone advised that Nokia are creating a fix, but I can't find any details of this.  They have said its likely to be appointments that are tentative, but this doesn't match my experience.
Has anyone else had similar issues, or knows a solution?
    Thanks

    dudualmeida wrote:
Well, since Apple created the new iCloud for Windows, I guess the sync doesn't work automaticly anymore.
    That is BS.
    dudualmeida wrote:
Maybe it doesn't work anymore, since the App "iCloud for Windows doesn't offer this option anymore,
    And so is this.
    To the OP:
What version of Outlook, What version of Windows, What version of iCloud Control Panel please.

  • Losing Calendar appointments

My wife is a professional who sees clients on the hour and makes all appointments on her iPhone and syncs with a Windows PC and Outlook 2003 for backup. Unfortunately there are appointments that are not showing up (so she assumes that time is available and schedules another. Yesterday 4 clients showed up for the same appointment time when she only had one scheduled. Either the data is not being saved in the iPhone or things are getting messed up in the sync with Outlook 2003.
Has anyone had similar problems? Thanks for your help!

Just as a heads up -- this problem effects Entourage on the Mac as well -- If you go through Sync services, entering new data on your computer rather than on the iPhone seems to make those items disappear on Entourage - and hence when synced they disappear from the iPhone as well...somewhere along the line, they disappear into the ether on iCal as well.
I have stopped using Entourage entirely, and everything is 100% perfect on iCal, Address Book.
Somewhere along the line, Microsoft and Apple have massively gotten their signals crossed. Fortunately, I don't need to use other MS products for anything else, so Entourage was the last thing to go.

  • Itunes says my new laptop (windows 8) isn't authorized to play some of the purchased songs that are already on my iphone (I previously synced it with my old laptop).  It says it will delete them from the phone unless I authorize the computer.

This results in an endless loop where I authorize it, and then get the same warning.  I have already tried deauthorizing all the computers on the account, and then reauthorizing the new one yet the problem persists.  Also, only three devices are associated with the account.  I can't find the solution anywhere so help will be welcomed.  All songs were purchased through the itunes store and it appears to be older ones that are targeted for deletion; however, these older ones are still available for purchase in the itunes store so that's not the problem.  Thanks.

    Hello, ted_marx38.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The most common cause for this issue would be media present that is purchased with another Apple ID.  When prompted to authorize the computer it may show a different Apple ID.  If this is the case, the computer will need to be authorized for this Apple ID.  The article below will walk you through the process of verifying if that is the case or correcting the issue if not.

  • Impact on using function modules that are flagged as obsolete

    Hi Gurus,
I'm working on a SAP 4.7 instance and we are soon to be going Unicode enabled. I noticed when running transaction UCCHECK that there are a number of function modules such as "POPUP_TO_CONFIRM_WITH_MESSAGE" and "POPUP_TO_DECIDE" as well as others that are flagged as obsolete, I'm not sure why these are not picked up in UCCHECK. However, can someone tell me what the impact would be if these obsolete functions were left as is and not changed?
    Thanks in advance
    C

Thanks for your responses, I agree with you both.
my view was that after we go unicode enabled all function modules that are flagged for deletion will still perform as they do now, however, as Praveen says this may not be the case in later versions.
    Thanks

This may not be exactly what you are looking for but my wife and I have a similar situation and all we do is invite each other to any calendar stuff we both need to know about. Another way you could do it is us a 3rd party calendaring that will duplicate all your entries on their server and your wife would do the same and setup a single account with that service that you both attach to your built in calendaring provided you give proper permissions. The one I would try is google calendaring which works well if you have a gmail account.

  • Q5 Calendar doesn't keep appointments that aren't recurring.

So about a week ago my wife and I upgraded to Q5's. Immediately my wife went to entering all of our schedule info into her calendar and invited me to each appointment. It is our way of making sure who working / family task. etc..etc.etc..
However ALL of the appointments that were "1 time" appointments, didn't save in her phone. They were sent to me in my email, I accepted them, and they saved to my phone and are still there. However anything past this week that isn't recurring just "wiped" itself from her phone the next tday..
Any ideas as to how this was caused?

Still no ideas on this. Tried calling Fido, they told me to call blackberry. Called Blackberry they told me to call Fido.. Gotta say it is a bit enraging to be thrown around like that.
Still looking for an answer to this.

  • How can I make Siri distinguish between calendar appointments (busy) and calendar events (free)?

When I ask Siri "How does my day look tomorrow?" she tells me every appointment (busy) and task (free) I have scheduled. I'm trying to find a way to let her know that I'm only interested in seeing what appointments (busy) I have that day.
Has anyone found a way to do this? I'm using iCloud calendars on all my devices.
I've already used iCloud calendars to designate each individual event as either "free" or "busy," but she continues to display all calendar events when I ask for an overview of my day. I've tried to do this from my iPhone, Macbook, and iCloud website.
Moving my tasks to my "Reminders" app won't help, because I need to be able to schedule time to work on specific tasks and also put important deadlines into my calendar. At the same time, when I ask Siri, "How does my day look," I am only interested in knowing what appointments I have that day.
I've also tried asking specifically "What meetings do I have in my [work/personal/family etc. calendar]" but that doesn't work either.
I've also tried asking "Can you show me when I'm busy today" and "Can you show me todays's appointments."
It may be that Siri doesn't have this capability yet, but it would be nice to know if its in the works or if it exists.
