NMP 12 core D700s failing to initialize thunderbolt bus 0 if the hdmi cable is plugged in

Hey Everyone,
I have a new Mac Pro, 12 core model with D700s, 32 GB RAM.  I started having issues about a month ago after only owning it for one month.  I noticed that sometimes when I booted up, some of my thunderbolt buses were not initializing.  I rechecked the literature to make sure (and correct me if i'm wrong), but you can have one thunderbolt device plugged in bus 0 (the bottom two ports) and still use hdmi.  I use the HDMI for my desktop on various monitors and have multiple devices that I need to connect over thunderbolt.  I was able to narrow it down and isolate the HDMI plug as being the culprit.  If i attach a display port to hdmi adapter to either of the bottom t-bolt ports, it boots up and initializes bus 0.  Any time I have an HDMI plugged in, its about 50/50 on if it will initialize bus 0.  When this happens, multiple restarts appear to catch it.  Since I work in a job where I might have to power down and relocate multiple times, this has been problematic.  Any one else seeing this or getting this?

Good luck with that! Using it to update a BIOS is about as risky as it gets. Better off to have tried M-Flash, BIOS + ME selection choice.
too late :( well. I downloaded the version from my mobo support page. it seems to have not failed me this time. though in the future, though I seem to have lucked out this time, I will try m-flash or bios + me. I mean I think I lucked out. I am by no means an expert, but my computer booted, so I assume the update was a success?
Updating the bios didn't solve my problem though. any ideas?

Firefox will not open, program has warning come up stating Firefox failed to initialize click ok to terminate the program. Firefox will not even open, and I updated it as well. Sill won't open. Cannot access any portion of the firefox as it keeps saying failed to initialize click ok to terminate the program, no other option is on the warning. It is just not opening. I don't know how to fix it as firefox won't open. Using internet explorer to relay the program isn't working.

  • "Installer Failed To Initialize"? After Effects CS5 Mac, Help!!!

I'm in serious need of some help here. I downloaded the After Effects CS5 trial, but when I go and try to install it I get an error:
"Installer Failed To Initialize. Please Download Adobe Support Advisor To Detect The Problem"
I already tried Adobe Support Advisor, but it didn't detect any problems.
I tried re-downloading the file again, but still no luck.
I'm running an iMac with Mac OS X 10.6.2, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.
    Can anyone please help me?

Hi.  I see this thread is old...last post is july 2010.  However, since I just had a similar issue and since a google search brought me here, i figure id share my info with other who my hit this too...
i have os x 10.7 and am trying to install cs5.5 master collection.  i kept getting the installer failed to initialize error.
by looking at the PDApp.log, i saw an error and fixed the issue causing the error...
my issue was when launching Install.app, it looks for ~/Applications and creates a folder "Adobe" in it.  I had an alias in my home dir and the log showed the installer didnt see it as a valid directory.
by removing the alias, the installer then created the folder "~/Applications/Adobe" for me.  However, since it created an empty folder named Applications, separate from the actual /Applications dir, this was not acceptible.
So, if i right click on /Applications and hit "Make alias" and move that to my home dir...same issue.
But, if i open Terminal.app and type "sudo ln -s /Applications" the seemingly same type of alias or "symbolic link" is created, but instead the installer see the dir as valid, and the install went flawlessly.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Configuration system failed to initialize

Getting error when I try to install an excel addin that I have published.
Error message is  "Configuration system failed to initialize". The popup window has the title "visual studio tools for office solution installer"
To publish the addin I  use the publish option on the build menu of VS2013.
Specify the location to publish this application:  F:\publish   where F: is a USB drive.
What is the default installation path on end user computers:  From a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM
Then I take the USB drive to another PC, double click on setup.exe in the USB drive and get the "configuration system failed to initialize" error.  I copy the entire publish directory to the C: drive of the target system and get the same error.
    What am I doing wrong?
    thanks,

    Hi Steve,
    >>Error message is  "Configuration system failed to initialize". The popup window has the title "visual studio tools for office solution installer"
For this issue, I would recommend you try to uninstall/reinstall the VSTO runtime. The link below might be useful to you:
#Customization could not be loaded because the application domain could not be created.
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/d8204b2f-d5c7-42b3-b339-d2d37d43652d/customization-could-not-be-loaded-because-the-application-domain-could-not-be-created?forum=vsto
If the method above do not work, I will recommend you install the excel add-in in the developing machine with the USB to check whether it could work correctly.  If it could not install correctly, I assume that there might be something wrong when you
publish, and could you share us the steps you published? If it works correctly, I assume that it caused by the environment of another pc, it would be helpful if you could share us the screen shoot about details error message.
    Best Regards,
    Edward

  • CS5.5 Design Premium: installer failed to initialize

Ok, I'm having this problem.  This started because I had to perform a system restore.  I ended having to go back so far with the system restore that all of my Adobe Products(among others) no longer appeared to be installed.
So I downloaded Adobe CS5.5 Design premium from a link mentioned elsewhere in the discussions.  Everything extracts fine, but when I execute the installer it always prompts "installer failed to initialize".  I have downloaded the Adobe support advisor.  It shows multiple:
cpsid_82829s1: "A restart is pending," bootstrapper error has occurred.
Click here for details and corrective actions related to this issue.
I have clicked the links(http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-error-messages-bootstrapper-cs5.html)  below and followed the instructions.  There is no "InProgress" Entry in the registry in the locations provided.   I have also ran the "Adobe CS5 Cleaner Tool " Multiple times and have removed ALL.   I have deleted every directory on this computer that says Adobe.
This is a clients computer and we REALLY don't want to wipe and reload(Money/time and all that).  Can anyone help me with this error?

System restore is a first resort for most people when there is a problem in Windows.  Obviously it wasn't a hit in this situation.  I know a wipe and reload would fix it.  If you read my post you'd see I'm trying to avoid that.  If you have any information that can help me there I would love to know it.

  • [Solved] Failing to initialize swap?

I have been rebooting alot recently when I noticed that on boot up it was failing to initialize swap!

Since this is coming up in the Google results concerning this message, I thought I'd mention a solution to a related problem. In my case, Linux seemed to be renumbering the drives at some point before initializing swap so the swap partition was renamed from /dev/sda2 to /dev/sdc2 and /dev/sda2 became an NTFS partition on another drive. Since /etc/fstab listed /dev/sda2 as swap, and /dev/sda2 now pointed to a partition on another drive, the OS failed to initialize swap.
What seemed to work for me was to change the line in /etc/fstab
    /dev/sda2             none            swap            defaults        0 0
    to
    UUID=50e1a18a-d1d5-452b-99cb-69408befc029       none            swap            defaults        0 0
You'll need to figure out the UUID of your swap partition (it may be listed in /etc/fstab). These are randomly generated when you do mkswap. Just make sure you don't mkswap on the wrong drive because of this renumbering!

  • CS6 installer failed to initialize

Hi, I have OX 10.8.2 and can't get CS6 master collection to install, keeps on giving the message that installer failed to initialize. Have tried all the solutions you suggested but still no success. I don't know how to fix it.

Since this appears to be your first posting, there is no record here of "all the solutions you suggested".  Can you provide details of what the error message(s) you get are saying, and identify the solutions you mention?

  • "Installer Failed to Initialize" Error

I've just tried to install a very recently purchased CS6 upgrade for my CS5.1 but it immediately fails with the message "Installer Failed to Initialize". It suggests running the Adobe Support Advisor, which I've done but that cannot detect any issues. Where do I go from there?

Your next step would be to review the PDApp.log file.  You can find directions on how to locate and review this file at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html#main_Analy ze_the_Creative_Suite_5_PDapp_log.

  • U3 fails to initialize

I have a U3 USB drive that used to boot up when I inserted it.  It now seems to fail to initialize to U3, even though the system recognizes the drive.  I also recently bought another Sandisk U3 dirve and it will not boot either.
I suspect this is related to the autorun.inf patches, but nothing I can find seems to work.  Any help would be appreciated.

With regard to the prior message, I should have added that I am running XP Pro with SP3 on a TP61p . . .

  • Installed application failes to initialize

My application works fine when installed on my computer which also has CVI Installed. When the application is installed on a different computer, it fails to initialize. I have selected the low level support drivers to be installed. However, the dll files associated with that do not get installed along with the rest of the program. Thus, when started an error message says it cant find dll files. After copying the dll files into the application directory. I get the following error type: LWTCPJSOCKWNDYCLASS: RealtimeAnalysis.exe - Application error. The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000142). Click OK to Terminate application.

I would check in Add and Remove Programs to see if the drivers were actually installed. If not, you can try to install them manually. Most of our drivers are free downloads that you can find on ni.com/support.

You mentioned that you want to reset your notebook. Is that correct?
Are you able get into Windows? If so, you should be able to make the recovery disks if you have not already done so.
If you need the recovery disks, this link should get the process of ordering them started.
Pre-built systems typically do not have an actual Windows disk available for them anymore. If you want an actual Windows Vista disk, then you will need to purchase a copy from a retailer. Otherwise, the recovery disks will reinstall the original software including Vista.

I downloaded the latest developer....also I tried the sqldeveloper.bat and it just flashes a cmd prompt window quickly and then disappears....no error ,but no sqldeveloper either.....
    directory locations:
    c:/sqldeveloper
    c:/apex

That was it...I have to set path to the java.exe directory....I told the
sun installer to update the enviroment path, but I guess it didn't point
    correctly...
    Thanks....
