No apps will open in IOS 8.2

Ever since updating to 8.2, not only am I having the same Store problems as everyone else, but none of my apps will open except for Safari. They just flash on briefly and then crash. Is anyone else having this problem?

Somebody else who was having this problem explained to me why it's happening - because we've updated IOS and rebooted our devices, all the apps need to "check in" with the iTunes Store before they can run. Thanks to this outage (which is apparently due to a DNS error at Apple), that's not currently possible. So we're stuck without apps until Apple fixes their issues.

Not me, Ive had my ipad since last xmas, all was working fine till I upgraded to IOS 5.0.. Since then everything crashes several times during the day. Safari, mail, even my non-native apps. Hello everyone. I really need some help with my iPad mini. Lately it has been acting like it has a mind of its own, I could be reading a book in iBooks and the pages will start flipping on its own. At times it will not allow me to post messages, as well as some of my apps, mainly my puzzle app will open up without me touching it. I really don't not know what is wrong with it. Can someone please help me

Reset the iPad and see if that helps. Close all apps first.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't work, you should probably restore the iOS software. Instructions are in this kb article.

If that fails, you are pretty much out of options and you should take your iPad to an Apple Store. They might be able to use their magic to restore the device for you, or if it is a hardware problem they will explain your options to you at that point.

The troubleshooting steps detailed below can help stabilize your iPhone.
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

Sorry, darned auto correct. Sleep and home. The home is the button on the front of your iPad. The sleep button is also the power down button. It's on the upper right edge of your iPad.
My apologies for the typo. My keyboard is charging and the onscreen keyboard and I don't get along well.

H.264 file - what app will open it?

I've just encoded a file in H.264 / 1080p using Compressor and none of my apps will open it. Quicktime doesn't see it, and I've tried assigning other apps to it with no luck.
The file in Finder has it listed as "exec". Can anybody help?

Don't know why QT X won't open the the h.264. (I take it you using QT X.) Try Qt 7, It should be in your Utility folder. If Qt 7 isn't in the Utility folder you need to follow these direction on how to install Qt 7:

What App will open a .pub file?

What App will open a .pub file? I tried ePub Reader and it doesn't work.

I'm not aware of anything on a Mac that will allow you to edit .pub files.
If you just need to view it, perhaps the person who sent it to you could save it as a PDF?
There are online tools that will do conversion as well, like zamzar.com. Not the best solution long-term but it may do the trick in a pinch.
But if you need to edit, I'm pretty sure you need a Windows PC with Office installed.

I deleted a folder from somewhere - i forgot where and i forgot where i found the answer - sorry. I think it was called the FLEX something Folder.
I keep searching and let you know when i remember or find it again.

Welcome to the discussions,
try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until you see the Apple logo again. If this does not work, restore your phone.

Try restoring from a backup. Connect the iPhone to your computer, launch iTunes. Right or control click the iPhone under Devices in the source list then click: Restore from Backup.

Photo App not opening (iPhone iOS 5)

So, i updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5, absouletely everything works.
I then updated my mother's iPhone 4 to iOS 5, there the exact same phone
(I just dont sync photos on the computer with my phone, with hers i do)
However on her phone, when u click the "Photo" app it will open, blank no photos then close
If you try view photos through the camera it says no photos are on the phone,
However; Space is filled up with photos on it and in the bottom corner of the "Camera" app
The last taken photo is shown, and before it was a picture taken before the update,
So most likely there somewhere in the phone.
I just need to be able to get my photo app open, i have ways of getting my photos back

None of my iWork apps will open.

I have a 21.5" iMac at work. It is running Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9.5). The computer is brand-new; I received it at the beginning of September, and it was purchased specifically for me so it is the latest model iMac. I use a combination of iCloud and Google Cloud Drive to store the majority of my documents and sync them between home and work.
Today I tried to open all three iWork applications and none of them would open - or, more accurately, they wouldn't beyond the "new documents" screen. The same thing happened/happens with all three. I would go to Launchpad or the applications window and hit the app; I would get the "iCloud for Pages/Numbers/Keynote" screen. If I hit new document, then I get the template chooser, but when I choose "blank" (or any template - it doesn't matter) and then hit Choose, nothing happens. I can do this 4-5 times in a row and nothing happens. If I then switch to use another app, the iWork app will close spontaneously. The same thing happens if I hit cancel and then try to create a new blank document using the File menu in any iWork app.
If I try to open an existing iWork file, I get the message "[filename] cannot be opened." This happens regardless of whether I double-click the file within its folder or whether I try to open it directly from iWork using the menus. Even if I try to open a Microsoft Word document in Pages by right-clicking and selecting Open in...Pages, I get the same message. I don't have this problem with any other applications on my computer; when I go to the App Store, the applications show as installed on my computer.

I am having the same problem with my iWorks apps on my iPad (but not my iPhone). I am hopeful the update to iOS 7.0.3 will fix it. I have been searching this site for solutions but had not found anyone with the same problem until now. Thanks for the second post. It gives me hope!
