No broadband for days after suddenly cutting out l...

Hi all,
I'm hoping you can help me with a very frustrating issue I am facing. On Friday 13th Jan, at 1pm and without warning, my BT broadband connection died and has not yet come back (so 4 days and counting).
I am an IT technician by trade and normally I am able to resolve any issues with these things myself. However, this time I exhausted all options (filters, lines, different router etc) and had to call BT's (not very good) offshore call centre, who use their wonderful training to read through a script asking me if the power is on
Anyway, long story short, my Fault was logged but nothing done. So I called back on Saturday, same script (even though I've been through it already...) and at the end of the call he says he'll escalate and next level support will call me on Sunday morning - apparently he had booked me in for a callback between 9 - 11am. And you can guess what happened - nothing, no phone call, nada.
So again I have to call the wonderful offshore call centre and go through the bl**dy script AGAIN. I've done it I tell him, but "Sorry Sir I must check these few things" **bleep** it. I'm losing my rag here and i am a very calm person by nature.
They have no idea what's wrong with my broadband. I tell them it was working on Friday 1pm then it suddenly cut out. Days later it's still not back, so there is a problem and I know it's not in my house.
My friends down the street have broadband with Zen and Plusnet and their connection is fine. So all otehr ISPs are working OK in our area.
My neighbour is with BT Broadband, like me, and his connection is also dead!
So the problem is not in my house! Even then they're sending an engineer down ...I expect he won't turn up though, but even if he does I can't imagine what he'll do in my house, because I'm fairly certain the problem is not there.
No communication to tell us what's wrong, or that BT are aware of the problem and working on it and will have my broadband back on x date etc.  No record of it on BT's Service Status page or on 0800 169 0199. I can't believe how poor their service is. When I moved to BT I thought I was paying more for a better service, for a one-stop-shop that wouldn't let me down. I wish I'd done my research properly!
What can I do to get my broadband back?
Can I cancel my contract mid-term and move to another ISP which is working in my area?
Please help, I'm so **bleep** stressed over this as it's preventing my wife and I from being able to work at home.
Just for information, I'm in post code area TW19.

    Error 9
    This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if you manually disconnect the device during the restore process. You can resolve this issue by using USB troubleshooting, using a different Dock Connector or Lightning Connector to USB cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

    you should look in your prefs, Monitor, and should be able to set for the 2nd monitor some 768res/25fps .. .if your grafic card supports that mode.. (my old iBook G3 did it that way, but it is ... "retired" ....)

  • HT4993 Volumn on my i4s suddenly cuts out.

    One moment the sound will be fine, the next no volume during pod cast, music, can't hear phone ring, can't hear text message notification. Pressing side button to increase volume does not help, in fact the volume bars do not even appear. I did not drop my phone, I did not change the settings prior to this problem appearing. I was listening to a pod cast and suddenly I could hear nothing. I could not adjust the volume because the volume control on touch screen would not appear. The same problem occurs when trying to play music, when I open an app (no background music in app is heard). I use to be able to hear "clicking" when typing text, I can't even hear the "clicking". I've had my 4s for 5 months and prior to today, I have never had this problem and the phone was working perfect until a few hours ago. Also, for a split second the volume will begin working then suddenly cut off again, come back on and then cut back off. Seri works just fine, I can hear her when she speaks dispite of the problem I am having.

    Try Resetting the PRAM
    If that doesn't help, take your Mac to an Apple Store or Apple certified repair shop. Sounds like it needs a new PRAM battery.
    Usually a fairly easy and inexpensive fix.

    Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
    If you don't see them straight away it may help to close and restart iTunes.
    While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
    If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • "Save for Web" feature suddenly grayed out

    I have a Mac Notebook. I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 installed (I know it's outdated but it meets my simple needs). I use Photoshop Elements mostly to save photos for my blog. I use the "save for web" feature everytime. However, when I tried using it earlier this week it is all of a sudden not available- the words are in gray and cannot be accessed. As far as I know I haven't done anything different than normal on my computer (I am a stay-at-home mom and use it only for my personal stuff) for this to happen. I took it off and re-installed it but that didn't help. Can anyone help?

  • Time Capsule is busy for days after an erase

    Hi everyone,
    So my time capsule is "busy" with the blinking amber light after telling it to erase.  I did the most basic erase, the "Quick Erase" and it has been "erasing" for about 36 hours now.  It was a full TC.  I'm concerned something is wrong...?

    I have no idea which model other than to tell you it's the flat one that stores 1TB.  It will solely be used for Time Machine.  Don't worry, I have 2 additional backups of critical data as well.  Just being extra extra cautious.
    It was one of those TC that crapped out at 12-18months and its warranty is invalid now because I've done some work to it b/c the internal power supply fried it.  Now it has an external power supply and a proper fan.  That was 2 years ago and it's been great since.  However long it lasts at this point is icing.

    Hey everyone, right, i was recently using my iPod touch 4th gen (which had been on charge for about 5 hours), i took a quick 2 minute break and got back to find the screen blank, now the iPod wont turn on. I have tried connecting it to iTunes but it doesnt even connect. I havent got any jailbreaking software on there although i havent updated the software in a while. Any advice?

    - See if resetting the iPod will eithr bring it to life or asllow itunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod via iTunes
    - Next see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow it to be restored.. For recovry mode see:

    - Last, make an appontment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you likely have a hardware problem.

    which start on July 14 and go through to August 1, but they are all full.
    The next class is their interactive storytelling with ibooks, whcih goes from July 21 to August 1.

    Nobody in these forums has any info on Apple's camp policies.  Talk to the people who run your local Apple store.

    I restarted my Mac, logout then log in, try again but still in step 1. What should I do now ?

    I've had another album give me the error "this item could not be downloaded(11111)" etc, so i deleted it from match and imported the album back into itunes, but I too am getting the stuck on step 1 bug that everyone else is getting.

    Whwn viewing home movies the movie cuts out back to the general menu at random, forcing me to enter menu again, reselect the movie and hit resume button.
    this happens everytime I try to play a movie, maybe after 1 min of play then again after 3 mins, next time it might play for 6 mins then cut out and so on. The macbook pro is not reverting to sleep mode or closing down and the wifi signal is strong. So is the apple tv an expensive load of junk or what?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
    You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
    Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
    There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

    Double check to make sure your headphones are fully inserted into your Shuffle, meaning know metal from the plug is still showing.

    I having been using iphone 4s apps for days and suddenly 3-4 on a given page will quit responding. The apps on other pages continue working fine. I am unable to open these even if I shut them down and reopen them or reboot my iphone. I have had to remove and reinstall some in the past. Any other solutions?
