Pre Pro CC 2014 Cuda acceleration issue - it's back

Greetings. I remember reading an Adobe creative cloud blog that said we now would be able to choose Cuda acceleration even if our card was not on the very SHORT approved list of NVIDIA cards. That was great!!! Worked fine with Pr Pro CC (the original) and all updates!
Now Pr Pro CC2014 (or 8.0 or whatever we are calling it) comes along. And after starting up (and having to re-set all of my preferences, etc.....why can't these be imported like photoshop does?) Anyway....getting ready to edit and bam. Software-only acceleration is selected, grayed out and no choice. Now this worked just fine with Creative cloud. In fact, opening up CC projects that WERE hardware accelerated now say they are not in CC2014. This is a non-starter for me.
I have seen complaints but no real solutions or explanations from Adobe. Are we back to CS6 days of editing a text file etc?
Very frustrating....going back to old cloud version for my work today..
O yes, running a GTX560. Which again worked fine with CS6, and CC 7.0.

Thanks for getting back to me.
Sigh.....I didn't realize I was one patch behind. Updated and it now says I have to update my video card drivers to get accelerated GPU. I'll do that and check back....... It's just I was starting to trust the CC patches, installing them more often then I ever would have before. But if a patch can cause a major interruption to workflow, can't really do that. Or, perhaps as a suggestion, the patch instructions should say something like "CC2014 will require a more current driver to continue using GPU acceleration"?
I'll post back after I update drivers and try acceleration again.

AME & CUDA ACCELERATION

HI,
it's appears AME can't use cuda acceleration when we export video. I mean you need to export from premiere directly without a way to add severals queued files in AME... "what is power without control ?"
Is there a SDK possibility to resolve this ?

I have now better view of hardware GPU acceleration after your researchs.
Much of the time (differents video format) i noticed GPU are more used when you export directly from premiere and sometime hardware doesn't help rendering when it is used in render queue.
For the moment i have a hack GTX280 on workstation, but i would test gpu acceleration on GTX480M (clevo x7200) to see if it's better to work with nvidia hardware than matrox MXO2 for exemple.
Do you know if nvidia SLI work with cuda acceleration and premiere ?

I am working for an organisation which gave me laptop with disabled sound. When I asked my IT personel to enable the sound he downloaded the sound driver sp47808.exe
But when he tried to install the driver it said "The hardware detected is not supported by this idt software package. The install will be aborted."
Kindly provide the solution keeping in mind that the sound was disabled by the organisation only. So what things might have been removed or disabled which should be installed and enabled again.
System details are given below:
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional (32 BIT)
System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
System Model: Compaq 420
Processor: Intel(R) CORE(TM)2 DUO T6670@ 2.20GHz

I have trashed the CUDA program and reinstalled Premiere and AE but no joy. Same message followed by another error box with options to Retry, Send to Apple or ignore. I have tried all 3 options but nothing works! Every time I launch either program same message appears.

Auto-start services not running :Shell Hardware Detection in my Health Reports

Recently I've setup up Windows Server 2012 Essentials on my Custom-made Box. All is going well so far except that i have a warning in my generated Health Report such as
Auto-start Services Not Running Shell
Hardware Detection.
I had checked My Services and found out that this particular service is scheduled to start Automatically and it is always started...
Any Advice what might be the problem?

Susan, can you still see the Connect bug? What Product/Program is it under in Connect? I can't see it but I might not be a member of the correct group.

That confirms that it's okay for Shell Hardware Detection not to be running. However the suggested fix--removing it from 2012 alerting--does not keep it off my 2012E Health Report.

Problem getting cuda acceleration to work on new laptop

just got a brand new clevo p170em. has the built in intel hd graphics and a nvidia 675m in it. cant get the premiere pro cs6 cuda hack to work. pretty much staying in software only mode. been told there's possibly a problem with the intel optimus technology and cuda acceleration not working correctly on laptops. anyone have any ideas on how to make this work? TIA
edit** though i have Geforce GTX 675M in my cuda txt file...gpusniffer is giving the error that the card doesnt match anything in the list

The Intel driver has to be installed first and you need the driver from Clevo's website.

The Nvidia driver that was working last I checked on that unit is also from Clevo's website and needs to be installed after the Intel.

I get this error continuously when working in the ancestry.com website. I have to reload the page on almost every search I do on that website. This is the ONLY website that I get this error message on, can work continuously for several hours on other websites and never get this message. I've talked to the people at Ancestry.com support and they made 2 recommendations: turn of antivirus (did not help) or switch to another web browser. I tried both IE 11 and Chrome Version 31.0.1650.63 m and I did not have the problem with either of those 2 browsers getting this error.
Is there a problem with how Firefox and ancestry.com are communicating with each other?

Hello byron.lewis, many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

CUDA acceleration and Aja Kona LHi output on Mac

Hi, I hope some of you can answer my question. I'm getting mixed information right now. So can I have CUDA acceleration turned on when outputtin picture through Aja Kona Lhi? Or is it so that CUDA and I/O devices such as Blackmagic/Aja cards don't work together? Best Tapio

Those Mac Pro's should be fine with the Nvidia cards. The new ones are not approved with them and are not supported according to Apple. It took Blackmagic several months to get the driver worked out to allow the MPE in a Blackmagic project so I am not suprised if AJA is still working on it. I will say that we have not tried the MPE with the Blackmagic on the Mac side. We have many times on the PC side and it works fine as does Matrox.

How to prevent "Shell Hardware Detection Service" from stopping automatically?

Long version:
I have an APC SmartUPS 750 (old one, w/o NIC) connected to my Win Server 2012 box via USB cable. My Server 2012 acts as a UPS web interface server (PowerChute software) that I can monitor via network.
Now, since Shell Hardware Detection Service stops automatically in Server 2012, the PowerChute software loses connectivity via USB to the UPS and I have to re-plug the USB cable every time for UPS to get detected.
Short version:
Anyway I can keep the Shell Hardware Detection Service to run even there is no one logged in?

How do I keep Windows from doing the hardware detection

Every time my wife hooks her ipod video up to her Windows XP machine, it does the hardware detection like it's reading it as a hard drive. I have the ipod disabled as a hard drive in the itunes preferences. I would like to be able to keep this from happening because after the ipod is updated in itunes, and you press eject, it locks up because windows is still trying to read it as a hard drive.

In the transform panel flyout menu uncheck the option for Align New Objects to Pixel Grid. Additionally, select any objects you already have on your artboard and in the Transform menu uncheck Align to Pixel Grid.
When you started your project you might have chosen the Web preset, in which case the option becomes automatically selected.

Audio hardware detected is not supported

On one of our Win7 64bit 8440p laptops, the audio drivers seem to be installed, but Windows says "No audio hardware is detected". So, I downloaded both of the available IDT HD audio drivers (sp50589 and sp46721), but when I try to install either it says "Audio hardware detected is not supported". However, after it fails, Windows asks if it installed correctly, and if I want to try installing it with "Recommended settings". I tried that once, and the installation goes through successfully, but the audio still is not working.
When I go into Device Manager, the objects say "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)" when you go into the properties. To verify it's the drivers and not the hardware, I then rebooted, hit F8, selected the option to ignore driver signing, and lo and behold, the audio works. But I can't ask the employee to hit F8 and select that option each time.
Anyone have any ideas?

CUDA: running hardware mode on 9400M Mac Book

I've been trying to run the CUDA samples on my mac book w/ 9400M. A bunch of the samples say something like running on device: 0 emulated (CPU)...does this mean the code is not actually running on my GPU and is using my CPU? Do I have my CUDA and hardware setup correctly? I'm an epic N00b to CUDA and just starting to learn.

Here is what I had to do to get CUDA working on my Mac Book:
When installing the CUDA toolkit click the Customize button on the Installation Type panel of the installer. Then be sure that CUDAKext is selected for installation.
After installing I added the following to my .bash_profile.
export PATH=/usr/local/cuda/bin:$PATH
export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/cuda/lib:$DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH
After installing the CUDA SDK I got the following linker error when I ran make.
ld: in ../../lib/libcutil.a, archive has no table of contents
To fix this I ran ranlib *.a in the CUDA lib directory.

I'm using HP Pavilion dm4-2180us Entertainment PC. Recently, we bought a new home theatre for our home. When I'm trying to connect it using HDMI cable, the output of it is only the video but not the audio. So when trying to install the audio drivers I'm getting it like this "The hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package. The install will be aborted".
Im using windows 8.1 in my laptop. I wish this problem will be solved.
Also, when I connect the same laptop and HDMI to TV, I'm getting both the audio and video.
When I connect another HP laptop to my home theatre system, both the audio and video are transferring.

Hi,
Actualy audio in this case comes out from the video card, and it needs video driver. But before spend time for driver, please check the speaker icon on the right hand corner and enable HDMI sound.
Right click the spekaer > Click playback devices > Enable HDMI Sound.
If can't find HDMI sound, turn off laptop & TV then turn on TV first.

Sound Acceleration Hardware

i don't know if this question is posted before or not. i haven't seen any. i get this game, but i get trouble playing an episode of it. any other pc gamer says it can be fixed by going to dxdiag and change the sound acceleration hardware to the lowest. it only happens in this episode. is it possible for mac to do such a thing like that? i go to sound settings in the system, but i don't see anything.
i guess i'm just hopeless with the episode of the game i'm playing. lol. i'm using mac os x to play the game via wines. i don't install windows on my mac.
any input will be appreciated. thank you.
