No data in Portal Report but have data in Bex Analyzer

Hi experts,
I have problem regarding portal reports. When you view the report using the bex analyzer, there is data. But when you view the report in the portal from iview, there is no data.

Hi Emmanuel (that's weird, I am an Emmanuel too! and we both have Filo origins),
There can be heaps of reasons for this.
1) Please try to run the query in transaction RSRT by entering the query name and clicking "Java Web". See if that gives you results. If that gives your results, then the iView that was saved in the portal might need some reconfiguration. Check it out.
2) Check the logic of your user exit variables. The sequence of the I_STEP calls is a bit different if you run a query in the Portal. For example, if you don't have a mandatory variable in your query, then the olap engine will call I_STEP=1 to 3 before it shows the variable screen. This behaviour is not documented in help.sap.com. However, it does work that way.
3) Try to check the caching settings for your iView. It might be caching the result. You can change this in Content Administration in the portal.
Try the above and see if it helps. Otherwise, post another message.

Thanks for getting back so promptly.
It just seems weird to me, as tables are just fine, but not views.
In the underlying schema:

In fact, I would like to know more about how Apex gets access to do DML against the underlying parsing schema(s).
This is a little frustrating though. It worked just fine in lots of apps in version 2.1 to 3.2
Am I missing something

Data Found In Multiprovider,but No Data in Report

Hi,
I have built a multiprovider on two infocubes(Infocube1,Infocube2).On that I have four reports,the problem is till multiprovider complete data is comming even in one report among tht four I am able to see the data for the few feilds from infocube1.But the fields from Infocube2 is not populating data.
And interestingly for the other 3 reports even the data from the Infocube1 is also not able to see.when I execute the repots its displaying tht No Data Found.
I would like to knw where is the problm exists.

Hello Lucky,
Do you have aggregates in any of the InfoCubes?
Try this...
Go to transaction RSRT and insert the query name that is giving no data.
Choose "Execute + Debug". Under "Aggs" mark the option "Do Not Use Aggregates".
If the query returns data, then the problem is on the aggregates. Inactive them and active and fill them again.
Test the query again to see if the issue is solved.

Say you have created the sales order on "08/10/2007" and system had given material availability date as "15/10/2007". Now say today on "11/10/2007" the material has come in stock.
Now say you want to deliver the material today and if you go to "VL01N" then the system will not allow you to create the delivery as the system has not been able to determine a schedule line for today's date.
Do the following:
1. Go to VA02 - select the sales order number - double click on the line item - go to schedule lines - click on the item - on top there is "icon" for "item availability" or press "ctrl+F5" - click on this - now if the item is available then the system will show todays date in the "complete delivery" section. Click on the green button and you will see the change in the schedule line of the line item. Say the order was created for "10" pc and the system had created 2 schedule lines for "08/10/2007" confirmed qty is "zero" & "15/10/2007" with confirmed qty as "10" pc. Now after running the availability check the system will change the schedule lines to "08/10/2007" with confirmed qty as "zero" & "11/10/2007" with confirmed qty as "10".
Now go and create the delivery in VL01N.
NOTE:
1. If you are using make to stock then the availability check will confirm the material directly for the sales order line item.
2. If you are using make to order then in "MB1C" you will have to assign the stock of "10" pc with special stock indicator "E" for that sales order number & line item. Now the system will show the stock in the sales order.

Trying to produce report but have ERROR ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement

I am new to Oracle so have been experimenting with a few things to get the hang of it. I have been trying to produce a report, but keep getting the error: ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement.
This happens at my first line of code where I have COLUMN <column_name> HEADING <Heading_name>
So I am a bit confused - is there a command that I am supposed to issue that indicates to SQL*Plus that I am trying to create a report?
Also, if I just delete the COLUMN <column_name> HEADING <Heading_name> rows and just start at BREAK ON <column_name> SKIP 1, it produces the same error.
I am using Oracle 8.0.6 - does this make a difference?

You are trying to do COMPUTE SUM ... ON REPORT but there is no BREAK ON REPORT specified. The computed sum will not be shown unless you also break on report. see below demonstration. first select has no sum even though we have specified COMPUTE. The second select shows the sum since now we have done break on report.

Everytime i hit icon it wont start and sends report but have heard nothing back

since yesterday when i click on firefox icon it will not start up, it displays crash reporter screen and says it will attempt to restart but when i hit restart it crashes again. when i hit quit firefox it sends report but ive heard nothing back. not sure if i need to download new copy or wait for response.

No data in WEBI report - but plenty of data in the underlying Bex query...

HI all - I have a problem with my webi queries - which are sometimes breaking...
We run in the XI 3.1 ans SAP int, kit - SP 2 on both.
Sometimes af perfectly well functioning webi report suddenly returns no values - stating that the query didn't find anything. However - if I run the bex query with the same selections I get plenty of data. So there is data. Therefore it might be a Int. kit problem - however, when I bulid a new webi report - similar to the first one, with same dimensions etc. but without all the formatting - It runs fine too!!!!
So it seems like somehow the original webireport has lost the connection to the measueres which it holds - has anyone any idea to what the cause might be and how to fix it?
By the way - I havre refreshed the Universe and there is nothing to update.

Hi Ingo - the MDX statement from the MDX trace - does not yield any data - However, if I make a similar selection in the BEX, there i data avaiable - so it might be a problem with the how the MDX statement is generated.
I've trouble shooted further and my learnings are so far:
The problem is caused by a combination of 5 dimensions
If you remove either one of the 5 dimensions - the query returnsdata
If you add a specific meausure (a restricted bex key figure) - data is also returned - also in the other measures.
The MDX statement looks like this:

Where all the measures in fact are restricted keyfigures from the Bex query. The dimensions are business content characteristics, as are the variables used.
The above MDX statement returns nothing - but if you remover either one of the dimensions in the cross joins - the expected data is returned.
Any ideas to why that happens?

No data in Webi report, but data in underying BW Query

I have a Webi report that is built off of a universe that is built off of a BW Query. When running the Webi report, instead of getting data I get "All Data" under each field in the report, as opposed to the actual data. I feel like I'm missing something fairly basic. Any help would be much appreciated!

Try using the L01 dimensions, not L00.

All data disappaers from report when fourth data table is added?!

I've designed a report in CR XI that relies on a stored proc and two additional linked sql tables. Everything works great in this configuration.
BUT, when I add one more data table (a fourth data source), no data appears in the report. The link between this newest table and the other tables is a good join: I've verified it in sql, in Access, etc...
I even attempted to "work around" the problem by adding a subreport that is based on the new sql table, instead of including the sql table to the main report. Unfortunately, the subreport approach yields the same problem of no data displaying in the report.
Is there some sort of limitation on how may data sources can be used in a CR report if one of the sources is a stored procedure??!

4 data sources should not be an issue... When you add the fourth data source, how are you linking it to the others? can you create a report using just the new datasource, and does it return records ? You say you have a good join, you may want to verify that. Is if a left outer join to the main table ?

No data in Crystal report created on SAP BW BEx Query

Hi Experts,
I am trying to create a Crystal report on top of a BW query. I am able to login to the BW system and open the BEx query and the objects are coming into the crystal report.
But when I drag and drop some objects into the details area and try to preview sample - it does not show any data (it shows accessing database but doesnt bring any data)
I copied the generated SQL query in to the section in the BW system in transaction code 'MDXTEST' and it runs correctly and shows me the result below there.
Just to try - I unchecked 'Use MDX..' check box by following the path SAP->Settings to check if that could bring back data ... and YES that worked which means data is not coming from the BW query with MDX connection but when MDX seems to be fine and retrieve result when I run the sql statement in tcode MDXTEST.
Also when I do preview samples - I can see in SM50 in BW system that it is trying to run the report just that I am not able to see any data in my crystal report.
Any help in this regards would be greatly appreciated.

The order of display of attributes in Webi and Crystal report would be different.
Collapse the infoobject and skim through the attributes, you should be able to find them.

Data exist in DeltaQueue but No data is extracted

Hi,
I use the bapi BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE in R3, in order to change some fields of order.
When I run this BAPI over orders, and do the changes, all of the infected orders, are moved to the delta queue, that's mean that I can see them in RSA7. But BW can not extract those orders by delta, and also when I try to simulate extraction in RSA3, I get no data.
Any ideas?

I see that there is an OSS Note (708020) that describes a problem related to that BAPI, but, in this kind of issue, delta is not copied on RSA7...while you see delta records on the queue and your are not able to upload them on your BW, right ?
Did you check the status of these records in SMQ1 ?
If you are facing this issue on production environment, better to ask for some support at SAP OSS...

Data in matrix report showing limited data in column?

i have matrix report.. for BOM of a model. i have around 200 bom models and among them i have 1500 items.
i am running report for 62 models. in column i have 62 distinct values and in row i have 650 distinct columns.
when i rum the report than report runs successfully.
matrix report formates:
clo1 clo2 col3 ..................... col60 ----- models code
row1
row2
row650
rows contains the parts used in bom of all models.
rows are based on columns values.
but when i run report for more than 62 report failed or crashed with message and closed.
error signature
AppName: rwbuilder.exe AppVer: 10.1.2.0 ModName: msvcrt.dll
ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180 Offset: 000370a0

Firefox crashes first time only. Afterwards, I can load and use it. I do not receive crash reports but have done all the recommended troubleshooting. Advice?

My Toshiba laptop is only a couple months old. I have checked to make sure everything is updated. Ever since I've installed Mozilla, it crashes when I open it. It will stay up for anywhere between 5 and 15 seconds before it crashes. When I open Mozilla after the crash, it works fine. I have tried all the suggested troubleshooting and am tired of waiting through that first crash to use the internet.
Also, I have next seen a Mozilla crash report window.

As I see, your problems might be derivated from a plug-in.
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

No data in Portal Database tables for Activity Report

Hi experts,
I've developed an Activity Report application in SAP Portal 7.0, which went live but the report shows no data.
We are pulling data from 2 portal database tables: WCR_WEBCONTENTSTAT and WCR_USERPAGEUSAGE
In non production environment there is data in the report but there is no data in the production environment.
The Activity Report service is already activated/started and set to true.
What could have caused this? And what should we check now?
What other configurations/setup should be done?

Hi Greg,
Those are the aggregated tables. If they are not filled with data although the Portal Activity Report is activated, you should check whether the aggregation finished successfully.
In the older SPs there were some problems that were fixed in later SPs of 7.0.
In order to have the latest version of Portal Activity report, you can check SAP note 1084379 - Portal Activity Report - Latest Version (SDA file).
You can compare the SP via the MANIFAST file, as it contains the version and SP number.
In order to troubleshoot problems in Activity Report, you can follow SAP note: 1690023 - Portal Activity Report - Component-specific Note
Some basic checks that you can do:
Run query on the raw data tables to check since when there is data in those tables:
select min(timestamphour) from SAP<SystemID>DB.WCR_WEBCNODESTAT;
If there is too much data from long time ago, then you should delete the old data, and leave only the new data (there is anyways retention time for the data to be kept).
If there is no data, then it means that the Portal Activity Report does not collect data, and not really activated (usually this is not the case).
The aggregation runs every top of the hour, so you can check in the default traces for an error during that time.
In most of the cases something went wrong while aggregating the data.
As a result the aggregation is not finished, so the transaction is not being committed, and the aggregated tables stay empty.
If there is a DuplicateKeyException in the trace, you can follow SAP note 1054145 - Duplicate Key Exception.

Report 6i Arabic Date alignment problem in Windows 7

We have 6i Forms and Report and wanna run in windows 7. But we found arabic Date disaplay problem in reports. As you know arabic writting from right. But date display like 21/10/1431 and I wanna like 1431/10//21.
I tried from regional setting and change date format from report. but this is problem from system it self,
not accept right alignment. Even I install left to right patch (KB979643-x86).

Like others have said you need to run the bootcamp installer to install the drivers.
The time issue was a constant annoyance rebooting with OSX and my old XP bootcamp setup but it's gone with Windows 7 once you set your time to UTC format in the date and time properties instead of local time which OSX uses and XP couldn't support.
