No data to retrieve Query1

Hi,
We have a typical issue, we work on webi report from BI Launch Pad, Our client User created a 2 users to access and design webi reports. 1 User is able to run the query and able to get results of the query and report is running fine. Whereas other user created with same rights as 1st User. But the 2nd user is able to login to Launchpad and Open WEBI, but when running the query the resuly is showing as "No data to retrieve Query1"
Can any one suggest what and where we are missing.

Hi Kumar.
If the user who gets data can log in on the other users computer and run the report there - do they get data?
If you are using BEX, is there any chance the user has personalised a variable in BEx making the selection in valid.
Again if you are using BEx, do they get values if they run the query in Analyser.

Hi ,
I have a Webi document with 4 queries and I merged all of them with org unit dimension.When I am refreshing this Webi document I am getting a message saying that "no data to retrieve <Query name>".
When I created a new document by using same Universe I am able to see data.
can any one let me know why this is happening and the way to resolve this please.

Hi,
When we use multiple queries in our report it just run queries parallely and give us the result.
Please check if you have added some objects from other query by mistake.
Do one thing take only one dimention objetc from the universe which is not giving data and test it with other query.
I think this is how you could find out the reason why its happening.
But i still belive there might be a objetc witch is restricing the data let me know the status.

Hello,
We have webi report in 3.1 version which is running fine in Infoview for particular user.
But when same report is send into Inbox of other user and if user try to run it in infoview it is giving below error.
"No data to retrieve in Query 1"
All the security and group member level settings for both the user are exactly same. What could be the reason for this behaviour.

Can you please check user is part of which group in enterprise receipts group.
Also please check dynamic receipts tab of publication where data can be filtered

If this is a recent installation and the non-Arabic data in the database isn't critical, the simplest solution would be to delete the existing database on your colleague's machine and to create a new one. Assuming you're using the DBCA to create the database, make sure when going through the installation this time that the database character set supports Arabic data (i.e. a database character set of Windows-1256 or UTF-8).
And if these databases are intended to be separate development databases for the same project, I would suggest spending some time working on developing a process to ensure that each developer's local instance is configured identically and that these configurations match the production configuration. It would be unfortunate, for example, if you were developing on a Windows-1256 database and the production database turned out to have a different character set. The simplest (though not necessarily most elegant) solution would probably to create a template using the DBCA and to use that template on each developer's machine rather than having people individually click through the installer.

I have a Multi Valued Parameter as text field.
Input field Sale_Month is of the type Nvarchar in the Database and has 2014.01,2014.02,2014.05 etc.
I can multi select the values but when I run the report only values from first check box are retrieved though I have data for all.
Please advise me.

Go to tablix properties, under Filter tab make sure that the Sale_Month filter expression has "IN" operator. Also make sure that the value expression has =Parameter!Sale_Month.Value

Theory - Best way to store this type of data for retrieval?

Hi everyone,
So I'm pretty new to databases and I'm trying to figure out an efficient way to retrieve this kind of data:
an ID that is 36 digits long
col1 = {option1, option2, option3...}
col2 = {option1, option2, option3...}
coln = {option1, option2, option3...}
I need to be able to perform queries on the data based on some concatenation of 3 digit sequences for the ID
for example, I may want to retrieve all the records where the ID begins with '123' or where the ID begins with '123123', or '123123200', etc,
There are going to be close to a billion if not more of these records
the 3 digit sequences will always be a number between 000-255
It is not necessary for me to have a 36 digit long ID, I simply chose that because it seemed like the simplest way to associate a record with its combination of 3 digit sequences.
Like I said, I'm very new to databases. I've been doing a lot of reading on indexing and clustering and nested tables and partitions, but I'm not quite sure which of these I should pursue with this kind of data. Most of the examples that I've read about don't really deal about querying with variable precision.
Would the best way to get this data simply be to use an 'is like' statement on the ID? If so, are there any kinds of indexing I should take a look at that would benefit from knowing that the is like statements would follow the format of <3 digits,3 digits,3 digits>? Also, at the data level, would it be more efficient to use hexadecimal to store the sequences of 3 digits since they conviently fall in the range of 00-FF? I'm just throwing ideas out there, I haven't found much help browsing the web, but maybe I haven't looked in the right place. If anyone has any ideas or places to redirect me, it would be great!
Also, I know sometimes it helps to know the main kind of queries on the data that someone is primarily concerned about. In this case, most queries will be selective counts, for example finding the number of records whose ID's begin with '123006011' and col1='option1'.

So I'm starting to rewrite my code. I was shocked at how easy it was to implement the SAX parser, but it works great. Now I'm on to doing away with my nasty string arrays.
Of course, the basic layout of the XML is like this:

<element1>value</element1>
<element2>value</element2>
</result1>
<result2>
I thought about storing each element/value in a HashMap for each result. This works great for a single result. But what if I have 1000 results? Do I store 1000 HashMaps in an ArrayList (if that's even possible)? Is there a way to define an array of HashMaps?

BDB- Recno multiple key/data pairs retrieval

I am new to BDB and have just started to work with Berkley DB (ver. 5.3.15) using the Linux C API.
I set up a simple Recno DB which is populated with sequential keys 1,2,3….100. DB Records are in variable length size, although, I am limiting them to a max size.
Below are the environment and DB open flags I am using:
dbenv->open(dbenv, DB_HOME_DIR, DB_SYSTEM_MEM | DB_INIT_LOCK | DB_CREATE | DB_INIT_MPOOL, 0)
dbp->open(dbp, NULL, NULL,DATABASE_NAME, DB_RECNO, DB_CREATE, 0664))
Single record get/put or using cursor to iterate over the all DB works well.
However, I would like to retrieve multiple records in a single get call.
These records can be non-sequential.
For example, retrieving 3 records with the keys 4,89,90. I prefer the bulk buffer to be as minimal as possible (avoiding stack or heap unnecessary memory allocation).
I was reading and saw few examples about using bulk retrieval. Though, I couldn’t find any example for racno bulk get on multiple specified keys.
From what I figured out till now, it seems that I should use:
Get flags: DB_SET_RECNO, DB_MULTIPLE_KEY. And the macros: DB_MULTIPLE_INIT and DB_MULTIPLE_RECNO_NEXT to iterate over a bulk buffer received.
But, I couldn’t figure it out where and how I should specify the list of Keys.
Beside, the BDB man says: "For DB_SET_RECNO to be specified, the underlying database must be of type Btree, and it must have been created with the DB_RECNUM flag."
Does the BDB open with DB_RECNO flag imply that the underlying database is Btree? If creating Btree instead of recno, wouldn’t I loss access performances?
I would appreciate if anyone could supply some guidelines or an example which will assist me to figure it out how to retrieve multiple key/data pairs from a recno DB.

I am checking the BDB to see if it can suit my needs (mostly performance wise).
It should work on a simple home router device and should hold router runtime information (static/dynamic).
This information should be accessible for process in the system which can write or read the device info.
The DB is not require to be persistent and is recreated every reboot (memory only).
I believe the DB will hold not more then 200 parameters at max.
DB access rate is around 30 records per sec (write/read)...
Currently, I think of either BDB or maybe just use a normal Linux shared memory (random access + semaphore).
Cons and pros to each...
If I choose BDB, I will use the in memory DB and recno due to access performance considerations.
Getting back to my question, I would like to be able to read a list of parameters in a single get call.
In order to use recno, I will give every parameter a unique id (1 - ip, 2 - subnet , 3 - default gateway).
e.g: ip , subnet , default gateway. (get keys 1,2,3)

Data not retrieved in WebI with Measures calculated in Universe on SAPBW

Pls share if such error is faced anywhere else and if there is any solution to this.
Environment: SAP BI 7.01 and SAP BO XI 3.1 SP2 FP2.9
Universe has calculated measures.
Problem: No data is fetched by WebI when both direct measures (straight from BEx) and calculated measures are used.
However, data is correctly retrieved if either only the direct measures are used or calculated measures are used.

Iphotolock.data - cannot retrieve iphoto library from external HD

Hi,
I recently copied my damaged Macbook Pro HD to an external one before changing it. I would like to retrieve my old iphoto library.
When I try to open it through iphoto, I get a message saying that I first need to unlock it. The file is unlocked but there is a iphotolock.data file which seems to be creating the problem.. and I cannot delete that file.

You don't tell us your OS X version or iPhoto version - which will probably help with accessing your library correctly - you simply say " When I try to open it through iphoto, I get a message saying... " and I ma not sure what exactly that means.
So tell us OS X & iPhoto versions as a next step. iPhoto version that created the Library if different as well.

Flush data TDMS, programmatically saving data and retrieval

Hi all,
The purpose of this LabView is to simulate a DAQ&writting-to-file scenario. The first loop creates the data, within this loop, if the user pushed the write to file toggle switch, the data will be queued and then sent to a TDMS file writing loop (second loop). Finally the last loop retrieves the saved data and displays it in the scroll bar Waveform graph.
If TDMS-OPEN VI option operation option is "open or create"; at first the program seems to work fine but if I want to run the program again, new values will be appended to the ‘first run’ values. The correct operation would be to rewrite or replace the old file and save it with new values (keep same file name). The most logical thing to do is to change the option of the TDMS OPEN to “create or replace” but this doesn’t work and the data or file is not even created. I do not understand why this is happening.

For the "False" case frame, it's fine to wire the case structure terminal to the while loop condition terminal, or just wire a "F" boolean constant to it, both way shuold work.
To stop the VI by clicking only one stop button, I think you should use a global STOP button for all the while loops. For example, you can wire this STOP button to the loop condition terminal of your DAQ while loop, and use two local variable copies of this STOP button in the other write and read while loop. Then all the loops are controlled by the common switch, once it is clicked, the VI will stop running.
By the way, you should configure this STOP button's properties as below dialog(Right click >> Properties), otherwise the VI might be broken because the local variable copy doesn't work.

Parent data getting retrieved at Children

My outline is having A and children as B and C. I loaded data into A but when retrieved finding it in B not in A. I understood if its having one children for the parent then because of implied sharing data is in B, but parent A is having two children B and C. Can any one help me regarding this.

In Smart view the data is store in row wise.So its depend on you order of member and parent and input data.

Is there any way to retrieve texts or data that has been deleted?

Not sure what you mean by data, but text messages, unless your device has a trash folder are history once you hit delete. And they are not available online.
