No DV Stream export in CS5?

Is there a way to export DV stream files in AE CS5? I use to do this in CS4 and CS3
but now on CS5 there is no DV export anymore I just see Flash export.
I tryed to use the Rendre Queue, but it wasn't there too.
Thanks!

The DV stream exporter was a QuickTime exporter, installed to the File > Export menu by QuickTime. Apple doesn't supply a 64-bit version of QuickTime, so QuickTime can no longer directly install things in that menu.
If the DV stream export functionality from the render queue is important to you, then please file a feature request.
For now, you can create a losslessly encoded movie from After Effects and use QuickTime Pro to convert the video to a DV stream.

  • Cannot open file exported from CS5 as .idml into CC2014.

I'm trying to open a file created in InDesign CS5 in the newest CC version of InDesign.
It is a large (2GB) file comprised entirely of placed images.
I found a thread that suggested exporting as idml.
I did export from CS5 as idml which made the file size a mere 195 MB.
When I tried to open it in CC2014 I got the error message:
Cannot open the file "name.indd"  Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in
that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application.
I had quit from CS5 before attempting to open the file in CC2014.
I had thought that exporting as .idml would change the file type suffix from
.indd to .idml but I'm not in the weeds enough to be sure about that.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.
    Roger

I had thought it might be.
I preserved my original (created in CS5) and saved a copy
to try it in CC 2014. The copy wouldn't open in CC.
I deleted this copy and tried again with a new copy
Tried to open in CC - no go.
Opened the new copy in CS5 - no problem.
If the file were corrupt, would it still open in CS5, or is this
    a forward compatibility issue?

  • How to export from CS5

No luck to export as a idml so far. The original file is 209mg. when i export it gives me a 4kb file . Anyone have an answer.

The .idml file contains less information than the .indd -- no image previews or embedded profiles (I think), for example, so they tend to be smaller. How much depends on the content and how recently you did a Save As on the .indd file to remove unusable change information.
Export in CS5 is a background task, which means it doesn't show you a progress bar, but there is a little animated icon in the menu bar that runs while the export is in progress, and you can open the Background Tasks panel from the Window > Utilities menu to check on progress. Perhaps your export is not complete.
Are you saving locally or to a network location? Is the copy of CS4 patched to at least 6.0.5? What happens when you try to open the .idml? Does it open in CS5?

  • Does Premiere Pro CS5.5 support MPEG-2 Program Stream export format?

The title says it all, so I need to know am I able to export video from Premiere Pro CS5.5 in MPEG-2 Program Stream format?
I'm working on a ad spot for local tv channel and they only accept this format. Any help is appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Juha Tuomimaki

No, I don't. I'm not an expert what comes to details on all the different video formats, but I'm quite sure that Transport Stream or TS and Program Strean (PS) are two different things.
Currently I see four options in PR Pro when exporting MPEG-2 and choosing the multiplexing method: MPEG2, DVD, TS and None. Basically, I know that the three last choices are not what I'm looking for, but I'm not sure is the first one (MPEG) same as Program Stream. Or maybe I need to install a whole different codec...? Very confusing.

  • Clip Notes streaming export causes Reader media clip error

MacPro HDV captured into PPCS4, export OK to Adobe Clip Notes streaming, uploads .mov file to my FTP site OK. The .mov clip plays fine locally in QT. When I open the clip notes pdf in Acrobat 9 Reader for Mac or Acrobat 8 Pro on Vista, both give the same error on opening: Javascript window - error reading media clip. The clip does not load into the pdf, and I can not get error information to debug.
Answer: I need QT streaming server. The Clip Notes streaming is true streaming, not progressive-download or pseudo-streaming. I did not see this in the Premiere CS4 documentation.

    I'm using Vista 64.
I was having the same problem with the transport controls not showing up.
I set AcroRd32.exe to run in XP mode and that fixed the problem with the embedded movie file.
    Transport controls show up.
    Thanks.
I hoped that would also fix the QT streaming problem.
However, if I select "Streaming" and upload it to my server then when the Clip Notes tries to play the file it says "
This happened also before I set AcroRd32 to XP mode.
No problem with "Clip Notes Windows Media" format.  It uploads and plays fine.
The .mov file is on the server.   I can play it fine in a browser.
Any ideas why Adobe Reader won't play a streaming .mov file in Clip Notes, but will play a streaming .wmv file?
You really need to use QT so you can scrub the timeline.
.wmv files don't let you scrub!
Adobe why haven't you after all these years made Clip Notes use flash?
If you did it would truly be cross-platform.
    Thanks.

  • DV Stream Export Settings, Locked or Unlocked Audio

When capturing VHS tapes into Final Cut Express, I always keep my Canopus ADVC110 at the default settings, including locked audio.
I don't understand why Final Cut Express' export as DV Stream includes a little box to check or uncheck, for locked or unlocked audio. The FCE default is unchecked (unlocked), and I've been keeping it that way during export.
What does this do to the DV file?

Ok, I understand. Me too. I archive photos, video & audio - TIFF for stills, AIFF for audio, but for video I wouldn't pick DVStream. It's not really like TIFF or AIFF. DVStream is the format recorded on miniDV tapes and at this point is reaching technological obsolescence.
If you're trying to digitally preserve your VHS videos, QuickTime Movie would be far preferable to DVStream, technically today as well as considering its forward life. The codecs are the same, but the contents of the files are different. DVStream interleaves the audio, video & control streams (which is why it's so difficult to edit). QuickTime contains parallel video, audio & control tracks.
If you have captured your material via a Canopus ADVC, you are editing QuickTime/DV-NTSC in Final Cut. When you export to QuickTime Movie you are getting the exact same material. When you export to QuickTime Conversion to DVStream, FCE has to parse all your video & audio and reassemble it into the chunks required to assemble the DVStream file. To use the file in the future you will need software that supports DVStream. Even today, while FCE can work with DVStream, it has to render the audio before it's usable. Doesn't have to do that with QuickTime. There are even more issues, but I think you get the point.

  • Oversaturated colors on exporting from CS5.

    Hi everybody,
I'd like to try to ask to the forum something that I'm not able to understand.
I just downloaded the trial of the new flash cs5 and I was playing around to have a look at the new version.
    What I did:
    - picked a png file of a logo, previously exported from illustrator and imported in flash, then exported the whole thing in swf, then embedded in an html page and looked at it on a wide gamut monitor on safari: colors oversaturated, just like when opening, in photoshop, a picture which has no profile;
    - tryed again, this time opening the png in photoshop, assigning srgb profile and re-saving the png: again oversaturated;
    - tryed again, importing directly the illustrator file, which already was srgb: oversaturated.
Meanwhile, a friend made an flv from an mp4 of mine, which is a slide show of jpeg srgb pictures, and when he embedded it on my site, I saw again wrong colors.
I'm wondering if it depends on my wide gamut monitor, on flash, on safari, or what else.
Did anyone noticed this thing? Any hint?
Thank you, hope someone can help!

    Ok, now everything is clear.
I found some explanations about the issue. It seems that it concerns a system with OSX, Safari and a wide gamut monitor. Flash nullifies color tags in the pictures, Safari displays non-tagged pictures as they are monitor-profile tagged... and since the monitor profile is a wide gamut profile, voila, oversaturated colors.
In fact, trying to use Camino browser on the same system, everything works fine and the colors are perfect.
Now, to whom this issue should be addressed? Adobe or Apple?
Meanwhile I'll go browsing with Camino or setting the monitor in srgb mode for internet.

  • Losing image when exporting from CS5 to PDF

    Hi All!
I am working off of a file that was sent to me by our designer. I made a few small changes to some text and went to export to PDF and one (and only one) of my images is lost in the PDF!
The image was originally embedding in a .idml (mark up) file when it came from the graphic designer. I worked in that file and saved it as an .indd file (CS5) and exported. I then tried to delete the file and link it, no go. Re-embed it, still nothing. I've now tried exporting it once again to .idml and exporting to PDF with no success.
I then went in, opened the original .idml file and exported to PDF without making any changes and I'm still losing the image! My graphic designer is able to export just fine on his end (I'm pretty sure he's working on CS6) and we've had the peice printed once already, so I know it's something going array on my end.
I've also tried changing various export settings with no luck. What am I missing here?
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Is CS5 patched to 7.0.4?
Is the image on a master page?
Is it visible when you switch to Preview mode?

  • Will Adobe be applying their Premiere CS6 Sync fix for MP4 and WMV exports to CS5?

I noticed that Adobe FINALLY fixed the sync issue for WMV and H.264 MP4 exports in their latest CS6 release.  This is very much overdue. Given that all of us who paid good money for CS5 have had to live with this issue for more than a year, will Adobe be applying the same fix for us?

I also never have had any synch issues with WMV and H.264 MP4 exports (or anything else) in any of the CS versions.
I also have never noticed any posts regarding this as an issue either ...so not sure who  ..
...all of us who paid good money for CS5 have had to live with this issue for more than a year
    ...would include.

  • Export Flash CS5 component to Flash Builder

    Hello there .
I'm having some troubles exporting a movieClip made in Flash CS5 Professionnal to Flash Builder.
I created a simple movieclip name test : rectangle and textinput inside name "title", then command ->convert symbol for Flex. Everything looks good. I publish the .swc and import it in Flash Builder.
Everything is good when I just add the MovieClip :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
       xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"

    <local:test />
    </s:Application>
but when I try to set a value to the title <local:test title="Title" />, I get the following error : (sorry it's in french =O)
    Description Resource Path Location Type
Initialiseur pour 'test' : les valeurs du type flash.text.TextField ne peuvent pas être représentées dans le texte. TestComponent.mxml /TestComponent/src line 5 Erreur Flex

There are a lot of tutorial showing how to integrate Flash Builder & Flash Cs5 but not so much tutorial about how you can import Flash CS5 component into Flash builder :/
    Hope you can help me

    Nevermind stupid question
title points on TextField and not on .text property... of course -.-

  • Problem with exporting from CS5 to swf ???

I have an InDesign CS5 document with 10 pages in 5 spreads. I need to export every single pages to a seperate swf file, with no action at all, but CS5 export each spread to a swf file, and not each page ??? It was not a problem in CS4. Anybody knew what to do ?????

No my document is like below.
I have unchecked "facing pages" in the Document Setup and I do remember to choose the "range number" in the export menu,
but still the swf file shows the whole spread ???

  • Please fix exporting for CS5!...

I know this isn't the feature request area - I've already sent adobe my letter.
But 100 requests are better than one!
I'm sure we're all experiencing this major problem - that it takes *forever* to export anything, and longer than that when exporting from large projects. Even if you only want to export a 2 minute scene from a 30 minute feature, if your project is large (i.e. anything over 5 minutes long, god forbid multiple sequences) then you can and usually do end up waiting between 30 minutes and and hour(!!) while AME is 'loading' your project. This is a ridiculous waste of time and resources, since more often than not the project you're exporting from is already open and in system memory. And you're not inclined to continue working for fear it would slow AME even further. This double up process - while I see it's point - makes Premiere Pro completely useless in any high pressure situation, where you need to churn out a piece of video as soon as someone asks for it. I've lost clients and damaged working relationships purely because I chose to use Premiere, and have now invested so many thousands of $$$ in Adobe that other software is not something I'd like to face, especially when Premiere is SOOO close to being good.
Is anyone else completely and UTTERLY fed up with this exporting debacle? If so, please let Adobe know before they release CS5, which according to the internet will probably be in a couple of months...still time to fix this!
AND... another thing... the autosave window - that really should be a *background* operation, no?? It's painfully frustrating when you're watching an edit with a client, and ten minutes in the autosave window comes up and STOPS the playback. This ruins the moment and can COMPLETELY RUIN the scene on first viewing for an audience or client. Yes, one could go to the trouble to enter prefs and turn AS off just for that moment, but I don't do that fro fear of not remembering to turn it on and be faced with a lovely apologetic message saying for some unknown reason the software must terminate immediately... you know the ones...
Please feel free to report here other sticky issues wih premiere that prevent smooth workflow efficiency (and then send request to adobe). I'm sure Adobe would love to hear it!

    Gents,
Let me give some of my results, to show that all this is highly dependent on system configuration, but keep in mind that this is with 10 tabs in Mozilla open and having several processes in the background like Skype, Perfect Speed, SnagIt, etc.
How many clips imported in the project? 300+
Average  length/size of the these clips? Between 3 s and 2:12, average around 6 s
Number of sequences in the  project? 1
    Length of the sequences? 37:00
Format of the source  clips (HD, DV, HDV etc)? HDV
    Destination/export format? MPEG2-DVD CBR @ 8Mbps and AC3 5.1 @ 448 Kbps
Exporting  the whole sequence or just a small portion? Whole sequence
How big is your  project file size (in MB)? 5.5
Some system specs (cpu, video, ram,  hdd, OS)? See PPBM4
Project loading time: around 17 secs.
Wait for AME after pressing Start queue to start: less than 10 secs.
Encoding time: less than 12 minutes.
Notes: No color correction, several WAV files and a number of BMP's and titles, dissolves and dip-to-black transitions.
Around the same time when exporting to MPEG-I @ 120 Mbps and AC3 5.1 @ 448 Kbps CBR at Maximum Render Quality.
Use these figures only as indicativve, for valuable comparisons, use the PPBM benchmark that Glenn pointed you to.
Thanks for your info Harm. I'm totally envious of your machine! I'm sure I'd experience better times with a better CPU and MB. I would love to know if we can reduce your system to it's knees, so to speak, in the way some of us experience. I would wager (were I a bettin man) that if you captured clips in large blocks (many large clips, doco style, perhaps around the 10-20 minute mark, even perhaps a whole HDV tape, since Adobe has seen fit *not* to include Scene Detection for HDV), and had a similar overall number of clips, and duplicated your single sequence 6 or 7 times, for starters, to get your project file up around the 40MB area, your 'loading' time in AME would slow down, I wonder how much by though!
So if you've got a lot of time to spare...
(Yes, some of the practices that result in a project described above are less than desirable, but in reality time and pressure cause you to really push the software like that...)

  • Web streaming export options ??

    Hey everybody,
I know that this is an extremely hard topic to give advice on, and it's a topic that is asked a lot... but I've been researching on my own and can't really come up with a solution.
Let me start by explaining my situation...
I am a student in high school. We produce a weekly show, and after it airs at school, I post it on our website. Our website is completely custom made (by me)... It is not built on templates or anything. The show is a big part of our school, and our website gets 100-200 hits every day from students who missed the show, students from other schools that don't get to see the show on TV, parents, alumni, etc.
As of now, I export the show to MP4 format.
I leave everything standard except for that I change the data rate to 400. It is not encoded in H.264 and frankly, the quality is terrible.
I am in the process of redesigning the entire website, and as part of this redesign, I would like to start putting the videos online in a higher quality format. I've tried all sorts of formats, but I can't seem to find one that fits our needs.
Here's what I need to file type to be (in order of importance):
    1. Compatible with Mac, Windows (and preferably iPhone)
    2. Higher quality than the crap I'm posting now.
    3. File sizes that are not ridiculously huge.
    4. And I'd really like a format that can be directly download, put into iTunes, and placed on an iPod.
    I know, I know.
    That's a lot to ask.
But any suggestions would be great.
I tried using the Export to iPod setting in Final Cut Pro.
The video quality was GREAT... but the file size was huge!
It streamed no problem on my computer, and it looked fantastic.
It also looked great when played on my iPhone....
But when I tried to view it on a Windows computer (with fully updated Quicktime), Internet Explorer froze after it played the first few seconds.
Plus, I feel that, that format is probably not the best to be streaming online anyway.
Hopefully I made at least a little bit of sense in this post.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    =)

Great link, Shag, thanks for posting. However, that page exemplifies everything that is wrong with video for the Web. It should be much easier.
Providing access to archived video clips via a Web browser is most easily handled (today) with Flash. That topic isn't covered on Ken Stone's page.
You may not be able to create a single file that can be used by everyone for all different purposes. You can create a link on your Web page that intelligently tests for browser version and connection speed and then selects the correct file to serve up. It's deep geek but you sound like you have the moxie for the challenge
    Lord, I hate this stuff.

  • What I Import is not what I exported (IDML CS5)

    Hi,
    I'm evaluating Indesign Version 7.
I have received an indd file and could read it in CS5 without any problem. I exported it to the IDML format in purpose of translating it. When reimporting it I noticed differences in the layout. After some tests I noticed that the roundtrip exporting to IDML and reimporting it does not work, Does anynody experimented the same problem ? Even better, does anybody how to fix this ?
    Thanks for your Input

    Hi Gents,
Thanks for the typ, here under is what i get
Apparently it goes through two different releases of the version .
Do you think there is something to do in order to regenerate a kind of clean indd ?

  • 8kHz sample rate option broken for stream sounds in CS5

I've made several test files where all I do is add a sound to a keyframe, set it to Stream sound, add a sufficient number of frames to hear the sound (about 300), then change publish settings to override as MP3 with "use 8kHz sample rate" option.
Testing movie yields a SWF that has NO SOUND at all.
Changing the sound to Event sound and republishing PLAYS THE SOUND AS EXPECTED.
Changing it back to Stream sound and turning off the "use 8kHz sample rate" option again yields a SWF that has NO SOUND at all.
It seems to make no difference what sound I import and use.
    I'm on a Mac Octocore.
This Publish Setting appears to be broken in Flash CS5.

The only setting that I could find in compressor that lets your change the bitrate to 44.1 is when you create a new dolby digital setting and then under the inspectors audio tab/Target System button, change the button to Generic AC-3. When done, you can change the Sample Rate to 44.1.
    Hope this helps?
