    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You must restore from a computer.
Get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

  • How do I connect my mid-2009 Macbook pro to my HDMI television and get sound?

How do I connect my mid-2009 Macbook pro to my HDMI television and get sound?

Use a mini-Displayport-to-HDMI adapter and a standard HDMI cable to connect the computer to the proper HDMI port on your computer — the one that is paired with the separate RCA audio inputs (see the TV's manual for this information). And connect the headphone port on your MBP to those inputs with a cable that has a 1/8' stereo headphone plug on one end and two RCA plugs on the other. You'll also need to select the proper HDMI input in the TV's menu system, and you may have to select the headphone port as the audio output in the Sound pane of System Prefs on the Mac (or it may be selected automatically).

  • How to remove an Alarm Song from Alarm Sound list?

When using the standard Clock app, how do I remove an alarm song from the Alarm sound list under Edit Alarm? I can add new songs, but cannot find a way to remove unwanted ones.

The two most played songs are added by default, & there is a limit of 5 songs that can be added. The only way to remove a song is to keep adding a new song until the one you want removed is removed.

  • How do I get songs on MUSIC to SOUNDS list for to be ringtones on my Iphone4?

Help! I now have an Iphone 4 (my first smart phone) and previously bought all my ringtones from Verizon store. I was told I can no longer do that and have to purchase ringtones from Itunes. I am still navigating this phone (only had it for three days).
    1. I was able to figure out how to get five songs from my Itunes library onto my Iphone4. I bought these five songs as RINGTONES from Verizon store when I had my old phone.
    2. I synched my Iphone to my Itunes account choosing only these five songs ........ BUT the five songs do not appear on my "sounds" list. I can "see" them under my MUSIC icon on my phone.
How do I get these five songs onto my SOUNDS list so i can use them either for my main ringtone and/or Contact ID sound. or is this even possible?
    How do I do this?
    HELP!!!!

Is there any way I can retry to consolidate them in my external hard drive?
    sure.
preferences > advanced. point iTunes media folder location to the external. on the same tab, ensure that the copy to ... and keep ... organized options are checkmarked. ok out of preferences.
now consolidate your files via library > organize library.
all media files will be copied to the external (except those that are already on it - if any).

  • Apple TV...how to connect to get sound through my sound system (I have a satellite receiver and also Russound system)

Just hooked up my Apple TV.  It's great.  I have a satellite receiver and also a multi room sound system where I would like the sound to come through.  Can anyone tell me how I would connect to accomplish this.  My HDMI is connected so the sound is coming through my TV just fine.  I would like it to come through my sound system instead.  Your assistance is very much appreciated.

    Hi:
My system is as follows.  1 only HDMI output on TV.  I purchased an HDMI switch box/unit.  I have the output from the Switch Box Unit going into my TV.
I have 5 inputs on the switch box unit.  2 I have used.....
1 input from my television satellite receiver
2 input from my Apple TV
    My other equipment is
1 home theatre system.  This is where the sound from my TV goes through
1 russ sound whole home sound distribution system
When I play my Apple TV I am still getting the sound of my satellite TV.
This suggests that your satellite receiver is connected to your "home theater system" (which I will shorten to AVR "Audio/Video Receiver") for audio. Is this correct?
If so, then your problem is that you're switching video inputs, but not audio, and what I listed as (2) applies:
    2. You can connect the ATV to the TV using HDMI. Then you can either:
2a. Connect the TV to the AVR using an optical cable for audio.
2b. Connect the ATV to the AVR using an optical cable for audio.
You've connected the ATV to the "switch box" instead of the TV, which amounts to the same thing, as you're just expanding the number of HDMI ports on the TV by using the switch. So your simplest solution is either 2a or 2b. If your TV has an audio out port, and it's the same kind of port that your satellite receiver uses, you can just disconnect the audio cable from the satellite receiver and plug it into your TV. You may have to enable "external speakers" or whatever they call it in the TV settings. This would be best, because then you wouldn't have to change inputs on the AVR to select the correct audio; you would just change inputs on the switch, and both video and audio would switch between the satellite box and the ATV, solving your problem. Note that an optical cable is required to get Dolby Digital 5.1 audio (surround sound), and I mention that because it's possible you're using an analog audio (RCA) cable. So an optical cable is best.
Beyond this, I would really need to know your TV and AVR model numbers, preferably accompanied by links to specification pages or manuals, and it would be very helpful to know how the satellite receiver is connected to the AVR for sound.

  • Sound output with sound and vibration toolkit

    Hi!
Wants to setup a system with two microphones that are connected to DAQ NI USB-9162 and perform a Frequency Response between them where one of them has the undisturbed signal (close in space) and the other the respons (further away). My problem is that I want to send out noise or multitone through labview to an amplifier with internal D/A connected to my USB (turns up as a soundcard in windows). I can not find this option to send out sound in the sound and vibration tool.
Using evaluation version of both Labview and the sound and vibration kit since I wanted to see if it was possible to perform this application with Labview. Feels close but lack the success still.
    Best regards
    Fredrik

Ok so I have to use the Labview interface instead of the sound and vibration toolkits interface? I see the sound out option in Labview where my card apperas but not in the sound and vibration toolkits interface. Guess I have to add the options for the analysis manually then?
It should be easy to do some modifications if you have some code doing what you want, but not with a sound card. If you have some code just post it. So I can take a look. Note that sound cards do not support all sample rates. But all sound card do support 44100 Hz as sample rate. And newer sound card also higher rates. And how good your setup will be. Will depend somehow on your sound card. But by all means give it a try
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

  • Sound from speakers sound like it's coming from a tin can

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L505-S5971 and the sound from the speakers sound like it's coming from a tin can.  The volume never really reaches a very loud volume even at 100%.  I've checked all of the settings for the Realteck HD Audio control panel and I've check the device manager and drivers and all seems ok.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be wrong or is that the way it's supposed to sound?  If this is the way it sounds I am very disappointed.

The Realtek HD Audio driver low volume level plagues a great many of us. One workaround is to try the following which tends to improve the volume levels:
First, either download and install the latest Toshiba audio drivers for your laptop via the Toshiba Support web site, or download and install the latest Realtek HD Audio drivers from the Realtek website.
Second, once the audio drivers have been updated, enable "Loudness Equalization" on either the Start -->  Hardware and Sound --> Realtek HD Audio Manager --> Sound Effects tab, then click OK to save the setting change. Or on the Start -->  Hardware and Sound --> Sound --> Speaker Properties (select Speakers then the Properties button) --> Enhancements tab, scroll down the list of sound effects to enable "Loudness Equalization" then select the OK button to save the setting changes.
Once the Realtek drivers have been updated and the "Loudness Equalization" has been enabled the system sound audio level is much louder, however the DVD and Audio CD audio levels might continue to be low.

  • Blackberry Curve 8330 OS 4.5 sound "crash"(all sound stops)

Issue:  No sound of any kind for anything.  When calls, messages, or notifications are recieved the LED blinks as normal and the phone will vibrate if it is set to.  Sounds do not play for any notification or in the media player;  All sounds show up properly and their lengths display as normal however when play is pressed almost nothing happens.  The play button changes to pause(as it should during playing) and a progress bar appears, but the player stops almost immediately and without playing any part of the sound(the changes are only visible for a moment).
What causes the issue:  Unsure.  I believe whatever underlying portion of the OS that controls sounds is crashing when it is called to play a sound, but I don't think it's any sound in particular.  The first time I encountered this issue I was changing notification tones and browsing through the list of sounds.  The sounds were playing as normal and then simply stopped upon selecting a tone from the list(there was the normal delay as if it would play the sound, and then nothing).  I had played the sound before, and it was a default sound.  This time(the second time) sound stopped as I recieved a notification.
How to solve: Temporarily, popping the battery out and putting it back in seems to reset the issue.  It doesn't happen very often, but I haven't found a consistent trigger other than trying to play a sound(any sound).  For good?  That's what I'm hoping you can tell me.  Could this be a bug with the way the current OS version on the 8330 hardware handles audio?  I hope this is something that can be fixed, or will be in the future.

  • Surround sound through external sound system

I have read a number of posts on connecting home entertainment systems to Apple TV. My setup is Apple TV - HDMI to TV, and Optical Audio to AV receiver. The receiver can process Dobly surround, DTS etc. But it does not have HDMI. I get sound through the system no problem, but cannot seem to get 5.1 surround. I have all the settings on the TV and Apple TV set to 'dolby out' etc, but when playing HD movies with 5.1 surround, I don't get the 5.1 output.
Apple TV seems to be playing its audio out through HDMI to the TV rather than out thru its own optical audio to the receiver. I'm not getting 5.1 output through the TV decoder either, which also also hi def. There must be something really simple I am missing here?

Hey thanks heaps for the suggestions
Yes the reciever is set up to recieve digital - it plays 5.1 surround with ordinary old DVDs and it has three other digital optical ports - I have the TV decoder plugged into one of them and the apple TV into another
Apple TV is definitely set to "dolby out" in the audio settings
The reciever displays the speakers its recieving signals for and in 5.1 it displays "Dolby" with the 5 speakers - what I am seeing is just two speakers on its display - and this is all I see during the Apple TV intro movie as well - sound indicates just stereo also
Also when I remove the optical audio from the back of Apple TV I still get sound, indicating that it is outputting sound through HDMI to the TV, which in turn is connected to the reciever via optical audio. So Apple TV is not outputting any sound out of the optical audio out jack.
Could it be a hardware fault? The unit is brand new!
    Thanks

  • My iphone 4s sometime has sound sometime no sound.

I bought my phone on april 2012.. Not my phone suddenly become like this.. Sometime have sound sometime no sound.. What is the problem???

There might be something in the headphone jack, maybe lint, dirt, or something else in there. Try disconnecting the headphones and then adjusting the volume, does it say headphones?
You might be able to get it out by connecting the headphones 5-10x or spraying compressed air into the jack.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

  • My volume button became sound effects, no sound at all

Can anyone help me with my ipad2, my button volume became Sound Effects label, and my iPad has no sound at all.

    Hello Skeetercove,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue of having no audio output from your iPad's speakers.  Please note that even though the steps state it's for iPhone, the same applies to your iPad.
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
    Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved, please contact Apple Support.
