No information on extractor 0CA_IS_TS_2

Hi
I am Running extractor 0CA_TS_IS_2 to extract timesheets released for approval. On CATSDB I do have entries wit status = 20, but when running the extractor through RSA3 I am not extracting any information.
When running extractor 0CA_TS_IS_1 for approved time I am extracting the correct information
I am running the extractor on an ECC6 environment
I will appreciate any suggestions

Hello,
Dont worry about extraction not happening in RSA3.
Activate the BW objects and schedule the load to BI andtry.It should fetch records.

Extractors for Result Database of TRM-MRA or TRM-PA

Hi guys
We are thinking about developing some BI reports based on result database (RDB) of SAP TRM-PA (Portfolio Analyzer) and TRM-MRA (Market Risk Analyzer).
I couldn't find any information about extractors (or BI content) and would really appreciate it if someone let me know whether there were any.

Hello All,
I want some basic information about Extractors. These are the questions i want ur help for.
Q1. What is the function of an Extractor?
Q2. What are the different types of Extractors in BI?
Q3. Which Extractor will be used in what kind of scenario?
Q4. Advantages and Disadvantages of each type of Extractor.
Any other information apart from the above will be all the more helpful.
PS: Precis information from the exising posts did not clear my understanding.

Extractors are one of the data retrieval mechanisms in the SAP source system.
An extractor can fill the extract structure of a DataSource with the data from SAP source system datasets.
2 Types
1.Application Specific Extractors:-These are the extractors specifically designed for the business content datasources.
a)BW Content extractors (Eg: FI, CO, HR, SAP CRM, LO-Cockpit)
b)Customer-Defined extractors (Eg: LIS, FI-SL, COPA)
2.Generic extractors: with Generic extractors you can extract transaction data,master data attributes or texts from the SAP source system and transfer it into BW.
You can run generic data extraction in the R/3 source system application areas such as LIS, CO-PA, FI-SL and HR.Regardless of application, you can generically extract master data attributes or -texts, or transaction data from all transparent tables, database views or SAP query functional areas or using the function module.

Error while transporting Generic Datasource in R/3

Hi All,
I have created a generic datasource(R/3) on a view. As it was in $TMP, I have assigned the datasource, ZABCD, and the view, ZVIEW to a devlopment package and also to a transport request. I released the Transport request and when I tried to import it into Q, it throwed me an error with below messages:
Extract structure ZOX**** is not active
The extract structure ZOX**** of the DataSource ZABCD is invalid
Errors occurred during post-handling RSA2_DSOURCE_AFTER_IMPORT for OSOA L
The errors affect the following components:
BC-BW (SAP Business Information Warehouse Extractors)
The extract structure ZOX**** is the structure used by the datsource. I forgot to assign that to the earlier TR and I think the error is because the structure is missing in the TR. Am I correct?
How should I deal with it now? DO I need to create a new TR with this structure alone as the earlier TR is already released?

As you comment it is possible error was not include the structure in earlier TR.
You can create, in se09 or se10, an empty TR. In these transactions you have a buttoun with a box drawed. Set focus on your new empty TR and push button.
Add object from TR transported with error and the missed structure.

Disk space required for business content activation

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for information about how much disk space is required for activation of differents parts of business content (or ultimately, ALL business content in NW04S). I'm also looking for that information on extractors side on R/3.
Reason why i'm asking is that I am convinced that it is better to activate as much Biz Content as possible straight at the beginning of an implementation project even though part of it should not be used in the first place(mostly because if you activate BC later while already in production you have high risks of overwrite or conflicts with existing objects). However I am often opposed the argument that this consumes useless diskspace blah blah blah...
I'd be curious to know the exact diskspace Biz Content actually takes when activated, so any information about it is welcome.

Can anybody tell me what is the importance of Integration unit in E-Recruiting for extractor classes? The integration unit with corresponding object types and classes are maintained in table T77RCF_OIUNIT.

OM integarated in E-rec is one of most important
The OM integration was developped just to enable the search on orgunits, positions, jobs with a few search criteria. These kind of objectes can be attached to a requisition. The goal is to provide additional information to the requisition, such as what position should be staffed using the requisition. In addition each object (orgunit, position, job) is represented by a smartform within the system. On the UI you will find a link for each object to call the smartform. Now, when the smartform is called, the system extracts additional data from the connected HR system, such as accounting information (using extractor class CL_HRRCF_OIX_ACCOUNTIN
The recruiter uses these links to gather this information. The
extractor CL_HRRCF_OIX_ACCOUNTING provides the following information.

COPY 0FI_AP_4

Hi, i copy function to Z version, structure to z structure and function group to Z group.
Go to RSO2 and make new extractor Z using FM by parameters the Z Function and Z Structure, But when SAVE extractor get the error :
ZML_FI_AP4: TABLES-paramter E_T_DATA for extractor ZML_BWFID_GET_FIAP_ITEM is missing

My Z function have in tables parameters : E_T_DTFIAP_3
I insert in code function for final area :
E_T_DATA] = E_T_DTFIAP_3[
i SET manually DELTA by Field : BUDAT
But in RSA3 get error :
Enter a date falling within the range 1990 - 2050
Message no. KE559
Any idea the problem or the best way for copy extractor 0FI_AP_4
Firts step i need copy extractor, in second step i need modify structure and field for consolidate the information.
Extractors 0FI_AP_6 & 0FI_AP_7 not have Key Field for execute SQL in BSEG.

To be quite honest - why are you copying the extractor?
The extractor code has a load of timestmp checking in the extract module
BUDAT is not good enough as a delta mechanism because documents are changed in their lifecycle and you would never get the changes to the document - ie if the user blocks it for payment or changes the due date or even pays it (e the cleared date and item status changes) - you will never get these changes
Thats why the std xtractor does this..
select from bkpf where cpudt between timestamp from and to (new records)
   select from bsik for records
   select from bsak for records
select from bwfi_aedat where changedate between timestamp from and to (changed records)
select from bkpf for all records found
     select from bsik for records
     select from bsak for records
The reason for this is the change date in BKPF cant be trusted for all changes to AP records

Financial Information Management - Extraction with enhanced extractor

Hi,
I've realized an enhancement to the 0FI_AR_4 extractor, the enhancement is inside the ZXRSAU01 exit. I run the extractor from RSA3 and it shows the data correctly.
When I create a job, within FIM, and execute it, the extractor runs, but it returns the information without the enhancement I've realized.
I want to know if there is something else I need to activate in order to FIM to take the enhancement of the extractor or is there something else I need to do.
I'm using FIM 10

Thats a good question, as I recently installed FIM for a proof of concept, however I have struggled in understanding its real full use...According to my knowledge, FIM is a front-end web-based tool that is used to transfer data between SAP BW / SAP ERP or a flat-file to SAP BPC or SAP PCM. Its suppose to be an easy to use tool for end-users with no extensive Data Serives or ETL skills/knowledge.
Now in the background, Data Services is used as the ETL tool for extracting, transforming & loading the data from source to target. FIM needs Data Services to function....I am wondering if you cannot just use Data Services alone for this... I don't see why not. However I may be wrong or be missing something...
So I guess further exploration needs to be done on FIM as its not very clear to us all....

I was just wondering to see if you were able to find enogh information on extracting Customer Service information to BI. I also have a requirement in my project where I need to pull lot of CS information (like for example, Service Order, Depot Repair, Delivery related information) to BI. Since the standard structures does not have all the information required in one place, we are thinking of going for enhancements. I just thought I will check with you if you have been successfull in implementing any of these, I would really appreciate if you can share that information.

How to Generate Information Errors in Generic Extractor Function Module

Hi, In my Generic Extractor logic I am reaching out to an additional table to get a field. I would like to produce an informational error or red error in the process monitor if I'm unable to get the field. Is this possible? How can I generate these messages in the Extractor Function Module?

Trying to Find Sample Java Implementation for GATE Information Extractor

I would like to semantically index a large repository of unstructured documents (over a million) using a GATE
Information Extractor, as described in chapter 4 of the Oracle
Semantic Technologies Developers Guide 11g Release 2 (E11828-08).
Page 4-11 states:
"A sample Java implementation for the GATE listener is available for
download from the code samples and examples page on OTN (see Section
1.10, "Semantic Data Examples (PL/SQL and Java)" for information about
this page)."
I followed the link and downloaded the sample code, but I can't seem
to identify any GATE code inside it, or any installation instructions
for the GATE Information Extractor. Are you familiar with it? Any
guidance would be appreciated.

You are openning a direct connection to the DB. A Java Applet is restricted in what it is allowed to do, and it can only open connections to the machine it was downloaded from.
If you are running the .html file straight from the File System, try downloading the applet from a webserver running on the same machine as the DB.
This should solve your problem.

you can find the documentation in the current download file. To answer your questions, Argo is a meta search framework using SAP Netweaver components like TREX, SES; KM and others. Argo is also open to connect to other search engines.
You can search on SAP Back end and documents that have been indexed by KM now and we are planning to add additional connectors (desktop / exchange) as well. The Integration into Portal is part of the SAP Netweaver components.

Standard extractor for shipment cost information(appl.08)

I need some clarification on "08" extractors.
We are using BW30B with PI2003.1 on the SAP enterprise side. We need to transfer the shipment cost details like cost centre, business area, G/l account etc? We have shipment cost documents which have the accounting/cost center field KOSTL shown as 'Cost Center'='10-0HAD'; business area (field GSBER) as 1010. But the data is not getting transferred!
What we did was using Tx LBWE, the extract structure MC08TR0FKZ has been enhanced with the field KOSTL (MCCOMVTRLP KOSTL Cost Center). Similarly in the data source 2LIS_08TRFKZ (Shipment Costs at Delivery Item Level) shows the field KOSTL. In the data source this field is not hidden. In the table
ROOSFIELD for the data source 2LIS_08TRFKZ, the field KOSTL is present.
This has field "SELECTION" as value "P". Same for field KOKRS & GSBER!
We are getting the fields MATKL, MTART , PRCTR properly populated since
the extract structure and data source was enhanced with these fields
also and in Table ROOSFIELD, they also have field "SELECTION" as value
"P".
What are the possible reasons for above? am I using the wrong structure or such details cannot be transffered using standard means? What exactly is meant by "SELECTION" as value "P" in table ROOSFIELD for a particular field say KOSTL.

you should check the function module MCEX_UPDATE_08 if there is the internal table MC08TR0FKZ_TAB enhanced with your fields, because there this table is filled for the extract structure MC08TR0FKZ with the communication structures MCCOMVTTK, MCCOMVTTS, MCCOMVFKP, MCCOMVTRFKZ, MCCOMVTRLK and MCCOMVTRLP. Debbuging this function module will help to find out if your field is filled or not.
If it´s not filled i think it is easier to make an append on the extract structure and fill the field in the customer exit. Otherwise you have to modify the function module mcex_update_08 or the function modules SD_SHIPMENTS_SAVE, VTRBW_SD_SCD_SAVE or VTRBW_SD_SHIPMENT_DATA_SAVE.
