No logic plug in settings seem to have installed...?

hello kind and friendly list..
so as I have mentioned elsewhere, I'm currently away from my real studio and needing to do some work moderately urgently. while waiting for a shiny new macbook pro to arrive which will make working a normal pleasant experience I hope, I'm botching together a workable logic system on my trusty email machine, a lovely (slow) PB 12"..
anyway, I've installed logic, it's all fine. I then just had to clear out some space on my small internal drive to install the logic content package.. so, I was expecting that from this point things like ultrabeat, es2 etc would have all of their preset programs installed and ready to go.. however, nope, they come up virgin with nothing. I've looked in library/app support/logic/plug-in settings, and within the folders for things like ultrabeat, it shows nothing.
hmm. I thought installing the content package would have put presets in here... ?
is there are way to know where they have gone, or how to get logic to find them if they are indeed installed somewhere, or indeed how to install the friggin things so I can get on with it?
I'm sure it will be OK on the macbook pro cos I'll be configuring a machine from scratch, doing the logic install and content all at once... but for now, I need to at least get some ultrabeat presets happening..
any ideas?

thanks jord, I figured it out... I thought all the settings would get installed when I ran the disc 2 content installer. but then I put in the main logic install disc and ran the installer again and noticed that in the 'customize' thingy, there was a logic pro sound library install that had not been run yet. then I remembered that when I had originally put logic on this machine, I'd skipped all that because I didn't have that much drive space left, and I was only installing a basic logic to do some simple recording. I never intended to try and use it fully on this PB 12" which is just my email, podcast-radio and download TV machine, as it really is not up to the task of running logic the way I need it..
anyway, I selected only the remaining sound library files, installed, and hey presto all the settings are there. now all I need is for the macbook pro I ordered to show up so I can do this project I have to do properly and end the suffering of my beloved poor little PB 12", who will be thrilled to go back to playing downloaded episodes of southpark..

SWF security settings seem to have no effect

Here is the location to which I publish my Captivate 5 output.
And here is how my flash security settings are configured. I've included the publishing location in the trusted locations collection.
After publishing (html output option and swf option chosen) I runthe output in the Flash Player, by directly selecting the output swf, and are rewarded with this message.
The published swf is self contained and does not call any external resource.
The behaviour occurs every time the swf is opened, irrespective of the security settings. I've also ported the swf to a second machine, and the same there. I've also put the swf onto CD and run from there, and the same again. I've not tried it on an XP system so these results are only in the context of Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit) systems. Flash Player is version 10.1 and publication output is set to Flash Player 9 or later.
Is there another security setting somewhere I have to set as the output message is scary to a user and looks unprofessional to our clients. ???

Hi Rick,
The spelling in the Flash message is the same as the trust setting although it does makes your eyes go wobblytrying to decode it with all the %20 space codes in place. And of course the trust settings were set through the Flash Manager via the browse option so should have been the same.
I think we have a problem with SWF output from Captivate 5, rationale as follows:
1) I create an identical project in Captivate 4 generate a SWF, then taking the SWF produced by Captivate 4, I move it to the folder DB Pre-production and execute it directly, result - no warning message from Flash.
2) I execute a SWF directly on the C Drive - say one of the pre-loaders from Adobe Captivate Gallery, result - no warning message from Flash.
3) I execute the offending SWF via a browser (I.E.8 with no trust settings on the DB Pre-production folder), result - no warning message from Flash.
4) I load a SWF from some other product into the DB Pre-production folder and execute it directly, result - no warning message from Flash.
5) I copy and paste the file name settings directly from any Captivate 5 SWF produced object to Flash Security Settings manager - to ensure absolute spelling - close the browser, re-boot the system, and execute it directly from DB Pre-production, result - security warning message from Flash.
I conclude that there is a glitch in the SWF output produced from Captivate 5.
And maybe this is one of the reasons that Captivate 5 buttons that invoke other segments of learning don't function as expected (I can always get the window NEW feature to work, but PARENT, TOP and CURRENT options seem blocked). Whereas my old Captivate 4 buttons that do the same still work a treat. And all loaded from the same folder, using the same browser, and the same settings.
And good idea though it is to use an .EXE projector our commercial clients, will not acccept any .exe file from an external source, in particular CD-rom.
Should I report this as an issue? Or am I just travelling over well-worn ground?

Optimised internet settings seems to have helped w...

Hi there, I am fairly new (10 days) to the infinity experience.
When the engineer installed he showed me the stats from his test which showed I should get up to 77Mb/s download and about 20 up. over the past week this has been fairly consistent on the bt speed test site with the usual peak hour decreases.
However on the speedtest.net site I was never getting more than about 40-50 Mb/s download speeds. Until today when I ran the internet optimiser on the auslogic speed boost software. I usually down have much faith in these type of things but it looked at things like MTU and TCP stack settings.
After running this I am now getting download speed readings in the 70-80 Mb/s on the speedtest.net website.
So my advice is that if your speeds dont seem consistent between testers and web speeds seem sluggish then it is probably the settings on your PC. use a tool (or manually set if competent) to change these settings!

How do I upgrade from Logic 7 to Logic Studio? It seems to have been removed from the Online Store.

I have been told by the apple store that it is no longer available for purchase, and that I should search the app store, but I can't find it. Any ideas on where I can find the upgrade pack still? Thanks.

It would appear that the way to Upgrade is to Purchase Logic 9 from the Mac Apps Store...

Plug-in settings missing after basic install

ive just done a fresh install of logic 7.2 + updates to 7.2.3
i didn't install any of the sound files or content on the disc. i just noticed that all the plugin settings are missing. anyone know where to install them? are they in with the sound files on disc 1 somewhere?
i dont want to install all the bonus content i just want the plugin settings.

You can open the contents packages of said DVDs and find the settings by hand.
Also, they might be installed somewhere else. Did you look in both your main Library and your User Library Suuport folders?

I need to uninstall a plug-in i shouldn't have installed

Oops, I installed a plug-in that needed iPhoto 5 & I only have Iphoto 2 & now I can't export my photos - how can I get rid of the plug-in?

BrieFly - I tried to do that and for some reason the 'remove' option wasn't available to me. but I was able to disable the plug-in instead (in iPhoto info) so that fixed the problem I was having with iPhoto.
I also contacted the plug ins' developers and they told me to do this:
1) Right Click on iPhoto in the applications folder, and select "Show Package Contents"
2) Under Contents/PlugIns you will see [the plug-in]
3) Quit iPhoto if it is running, then move [the plug-in] to the trash.

Google maps app doesn't seem to have installed properly, it won't open but I can't uninstall it either!

Go to the Apps and it shows it as installed and gives the "Open" button, but selecting this does nothing.
The icon is nowhere to be found so I cannot uninstall and try to re-install.
Anyone encountered a similar problem?

Premier shows as installed but does not seem to have installed

I selected "Install", the program downloaded, but it never installed. How can I find the file and run it to install?
Also, I checked the installer log and didn't see any fatal errors. Working my way up from the bottom of the log, based on what another thread suggests, this should be the last component to fail at install. I can't find anything in the knowledgebase to help me figure out how to fix the problem.

Alexb61756434 what version of Premiere Pro are you trying to install? Which operating system are you using? Finally is your operating system 32-bit or 64-bit?

Plug in settings problem

Hey all
I have a slight problem...
I have transferred all my software from my old mac to my new mac, and now i don't seem to have a single plug in setting for any of my logic plug ins... or any other one for that matter!!!
I do, however, have several folders called plug in settings with subfolders for each instrument (seems like they were from old versions of logic i had previously installed), but nothing inside the folders.

1. What's the correct file structure for logic plug in settings in logic pro 7.1?
2. Can i re-install plug in settings only from my install disc or a user site online?

I have managed to find some plug in settings from an old logic 6 install disc.
However, i upgraded from 6 to 7, and on the upgrade disc i cant see any plug in settings folder. There is the option to reinstall logic, or to install factory sampler instruments and samples, but nothing about the plug in settings - so where can i find the logic 7 plug in settings without reinstalling the whole programme? Where they on a separate install disc that i have forgotten about?

Lost plug-in settings after 7.2 upgrade

Hi after upgrading to 7.2 I seem to have lost Logic's factory presets for it's channel strip settings. On the arrange page, I used to go to the channel strip and click on the "inserts" triangle and one of the options was "factory". This option is no longer there.
FWIW, I do have a folder "Plug-in Settings" in this path:
System/Library/App support/ logic/plug-in settings.
Does anyone know what may have happened to these settings?

All my factory settings are still in the folder you specify - my 3rd. party and custom presets are in ~ /Library/App support/ logic/plug-in settings. Did you look in there by any chance?
Perhaps it depends on the user permissions set at the time you installed Logic?
If you've lost them, and don't want to do a reinstall, email me and I'll send you a .zip archive of them all. I can't imagine that it's a violation of anything, as they're useless if you aren't a licensed Logic user.

When I look in the Plug-in settings folder I just see a file called eg Discord.vst, whereas for the audiounits there are folders inside which are the files for each plug-in setting. I can rename these easily. But I can't figure out how to access the VST settings' names.

Yu might need to have a VST - capable DAW software in your mac, that can directly open VST plug-ins, so you can eidt the preset names.

My version of Logic is: 9.1.8.
I was thinking, that I could copy them from another computer. But is there any way I could find them on the internet anywhere, or if apple could send me them by any chance.

In that case, reinstall Logic via the App store app/purchased tab... and then go to Download Additional Content in the Logic Pro menu bar under Logic Pro... and download all additional content..
Much less chance of any future issues that way....
Btw.. if you simply deleted the original folder it should still be in your trash and so you can open trash and right click on folder and select "put back".... assuming you didn't empty your trash in the meantime?

Third Party plugs don't seem to work on nodes

I've got a node working with Logic 8 and it works great with the Logic plugs. I've tried several third party plugs and none of them work: Ozone, Trash, Vintage Warmer, Airwindows Iron Oxide. The manual says ". . . some Audio Unit effects may not support the Node functionality of Logic Pro." So do the developers now have to redesign their plugins somehow to make them work with nodes? Has anyone been able to get a third party plugin working on a node?

The manual specifically states that third party plug-ins are supported. So Matrixx, it looks like you're using a G4 as your node which is what I was doing. Perhaps I need a more recent version of Vintage Warmer. Are you also using Logic plugs on the tracks that have VW? I'm wondering whether you can mix and match third party with logic plugs on the same track. Well, this is encouraging. I really want the Airwindows stuff to work and I've got the most recent versions there. Do you have Iron Oxide? have you tried any Airwindows plugs?

I have installed Logic Pro and t seems to have wreitten over my GArageband 09 functions. when i try to reinstall Garageband alone from the bundle on teh installation DVD it wont let me check OR uncheck the Garageband box (stage 4 in Apple's isntructions above) . It does let me check teh other boxes for iPhoto etc.
Do i need to reinstall teh complete bundle for iLIfe 09? Will this mean I lose any of my material? eg photos in iphoto or clips in imovie?

Yeah, I'm having the same exact problem - It seems that the thunderbolt minidisplay port is only able to output the analog VGA signal, not the digital signal to support DVI and HDMI. This is a bug that came up after installing 10.7.1. I bought my macbook air with 10.7 on it, upgraded it to 10.7.1 as soon as I got it, so I have never been able to use hdmi or dvi with my macbook air. This is an extremely frustrating problem for me, I used HDMI on a daily basis with my PC. I have spent many hours at the genius bar running diagnostic tests so Apple can get as much information as possible to create a fix for this problem. I have been emailing tech support for 3 or so weeks now, they keep saying that they are working on a fix and it should be out soon, but 10.7.2 has come and gone and I still have no HDMI functionality with my MacBook Air!
