No midi clock out on AMT8 ports 4-8

Hi, Logic 9, with daisy chained Emagic Unitor8's and AMT
Unitory8->Unitor8->Amt8
I"m getting midi clock out on all ports except the last 4. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to make this work or if it is even possible?
- Joel

Joel,
If you change the order... is it always the last 4 ports that aren't getting MIDI clock. If you use two devices Unitor8->Amt8, are you getting all 16?

  • How can i send MIDI clock out of logic 9 to hardware synths ?

    Hello !
I would like to send out midi clock from Logic 9 to my hardware synth.
Are my MIDI setting set up right ? I have attched some images below.
    Hope someone can help.......?!?!

Create a few "External MIDI Tracks"
Was exactly was what I was looking for - thanks, Pancenter!
I didn't realize that this was available.  I was attempting to make pre-existing MIDI tracks into External MIDI Tracks; when it has to be initialized from the setup.
I've been able to get my keyboard to be played using your suggestion.
Again your expertise & assistance has been appreciated here, Pancenter!

  • MIDI CLOCK stopped working and I can't figur this one out.

I have been sending MIDI clock to my Native Instruments Guitar Rig so I can sync the Loop Machine with Logic, everything was working pretty good till...??? I am not sure what I could have done to goof it up but now I get no MIDI signal out the port ( I set it to all MIDI ports). I tested the cables with a LED tester and all the settings I set to get it working in the first place but now Logic seems to not be sending the clock any longer. I also sync a Micron keyboard and use its arpegiator... well I was till this happened. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

    HI guys!
I'm trying to sync a Yamaha MOXF to LPX so that the MOXF will be able to receive and follow Start/Stop commands from LPX.
I need to set LPX to send standard MIDI Clock to my MOXF on USB port 1.

  • How do I assign multiple midi in/out ports???

Help...I have x2 midi keyboards and want to send midi data from each one to x2 separate devices/software instruments, ie Stylus RMX & Absynth thru separate midi in ports. I have a Tascam FW1884 which has x4 midi in/out ports. How do I do this? I've tried messing around in the environment but to no avail. Ideally when I play keyboard 1, midi is sent to Stylus and not recieved in absynth. I know I could use separate midi channels for this but would like to preserve these for additional midi controller data etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm having to revert back to cubase SE for the time being as its far easier to do: (

Some devices can support this, I have a hands free car kit that recieves my voice audio and I have the calls sound come through my bluetooth ear piece..  What I did was setup both devices and then went into bluetooth settings page and press one device at a time and select the the option menu, from here you usually see the supported connections for device.
Mine shows Phone and Audio and on ear piece I set to "Audio" and select my Jabra car kit and remove all checks but audio "Phone"...  By doing this I can hear through the bluetooth ear piece and use the hands-free mic to conversation..

  • Trying to understand how MIDI Clock works in Logic

    Hi,
I'm syncing a Roland MC-909 Groove Box with Logic.  I'm also using a MOTU MIDI Express interface.  The MC-909 syncs to Logic, thus it is in Slave mode. Under Preferences->Sync->MIDI Sync Project Settings, I've discovered something odd, and I'm trying to understand it.  It could be just a lack of understanding regarding the MIDI Spec.
Under MIDI Clock, I necessarily need to set the destination to the MC-909.  I cannot use 'All'  or else the MIDI Express starts playing back at 8x the tempo set in Logic.  Not sure why this happens but its probably something weird with the MOTO interface.  Anyway in Logic, MIDI Time Code (MTC) is disabled, Song Position Pointer (SPP) is disabled, and MMC is disabled.
So basically I'm only sending MIDI Clock to the MC-909.  Here's what is wierd:  As I locate to different places in the Arrange window (not in play mode), the MC-909 is locating to the correct time offset within the pattern!  This basically guarantees that you can start the Logic song anywhere, and the MC-909 will start playing back the pattern at the right time.  I don't understand how this can be happening given that I've disabled SPP in Logic.  The only sync communication between Logic and the MC-909 is MIDI Clock, but I don't believe that MIDI Clock is even capable of transmitting offset information that specifies the time-offset into a drum machine pattern, Does it?  Or is Logic sending SPP info as I click on different locations in the Arrange window?
Another point, is that if I select to transmit MIDI Clock to another device other than the MC-909, but still using the MOTU MIDI Express, then the MC-909 plays back synchronously (i.e. its getting MIDI Clock from Logic, even though Logic isn't sending MIDI Clock to the MIDI port connected to the MC-909), but it does not track the pattern offset described in the previous paragraph.  The only way I can get the pattern offset to work, is if I select the MIDI Clock to be sent to the MIDI port connected to the MC-909.
I would like to figure this out because I'm thiinking about buying an external MIDI synchronizer, but I don't want to lose the ability to have logic specify the offset into the pattern on the MC-909

  • Adjusting Midi Clock/All Midi for Input Latency

First of all - I want to say that I LOVE Logic 8. I feel like I am working really fast, and smoothly with the new interface.
I wanted to ask about adjusting external midi devices delay for input latency compensation.
I have been trying to line up Ultrabeat and TR-606 synced via MIDI clock and a Kenton DIN sync, and have been adjusting the MIDI clock delay and I can get VERY close. Usually -4ms is the magic number, but -5ms is too much, and puts the drum machine before the beat.
My question is, is there ANY way to make finer adjustments? How are other people dealing with syncing midi devices accurately without having to slice up audio after the fact?
I toyed aroung with record delay, and it did not seem to actually do anything.
I am running a Mac Pro Quad 2ghz with an Mbox 2 Pro. My buffer is set at 64 with I/O Safety Buffer on.

An I/O buffer size of 32 may be too low under certain conditions. You'll know if it's OK to leave at 32 if you run a session with lots of plugs and/or audio tracks and don't experience audio glitching.
On my system, and for the kind of work I do, I was able to get away with 32 until I decided to use GPO, and it simply won't function at 32. Needed to up the buffer to 64; my point is that sometimes a single type of plug will cause you to up your buffer size out of necessity.
But yeah, stick with the lowest size possible unless/until something forces you to increase it.
I think the amount of MIDI delay will depend on the specific interface you're using as well as the reaction time of specific pieces of gear you're using. But it's good to see that you've gotten a good result with your 32/-5 setting.

  • MIDI clock help

    Hello forum
I recently got an AKAI midi controller that works great, except for the fact that garageband can't do midi clocking, which is a pain because I want to use a note reapeat function. So, I found an archived post about Midio, a piece of freeware that adds midi clocks into GB. I installed it, and it has no affect. Does it work with GB '11 or just 08? If it does work with Garageband '11 could I have some tips on setting it up?
    Thanks guys

    Hi,
I'm in exactly the same boat my friend!
I'm desparately tring to get Logic 8 to sync MTC with Digital Performer.
As you said, I could do this with my hands tied behind my back with Logic Express 7, but this just new version just doesn't want to play ball.
I've adjusted the SMPT (MTC) offset. Nothing.
It sees the MTC straight away and tries to sync with it, the top of the arrange window goes blue, everything you'd expect when in sync mode. But all it does is flicker on bar 8.1.1.1. And there is no cursor.
    It's driving me crazy!
I've tried exactly the same settings on my host computer to sync with Reason using MTC, no problem at all. Perfect.
Running out of ideas, but I'm gonna keep trying.
Let you know if I get anywhere.
    Mat.

  • Logic Master, AU-Lab Slave: Receive midi clock from Logic?

    Dear board members,
I've managed to establish a very stable way to run PPC Plugins on Intel Macs by using Apple's AU-Lab launched in Rosetta mode (via its info panel) and activating Apple's NetSend + Receive Plugins. After creating an external midi instrument in Logic's environment I'm able to play any PPC Plugins with AUlab as their respective host.
This situation given to you as an inspiration, I would very welcome your thoughts on this two core questions:
1.) How could on make AULab receive the correct midi timing clock from Logic? This is important if you have timing dependent PPC Plugins, i.e. Wizoo's Latigo.
2.) What would be an appropriate way to compensate Latencies occuring inside Logic? I know its possible to record the incoming audio and set the audiofile then manually to the correct timing by draging but wouldn't it be fantastic to hear it in realtime (by negative sample delaying)
Thanks for your input in advance!
    All the best,
    - Vic

I spent a bit experimenting with this too.. A bit cumbersome, but it works... I have a Mac Pro 8 core, and a G5 powermac (PPC).. I was trying to use 3rd party plugins synths on Powermac, to record into Mac Pro... The delay made it impossible to really play along with it.. There was some kind of latency comensator on the AU or MIDI receive (I forget which) but I couldn't get that to really work well.
I ended up, recording the midi performance on the Mac Pro, using a dummy instrument, then I fed the midi to the Powermac and bounced it's audio back to Mac Pro...
ANSWER TO QUESTION 2 - I didn't try it, but if you were just going to use your PPC mac to process audio, you could assign EVERY track (except the one going to PPC) to a logic sample delay, and then delay that.. Send the track to the PPC, (in real time) process that and then back to MacPro... It can work,
ANSWER TO QUESTION 1 - I didn't see an obvious solution to sending the midi timing clock... and you really do need to have it.. Logic is capable (or used to be - haven't checked in years) of using something called IAC. You create it in the envirement - It's was similar to rewire...
Rewire also might be able to handle it - now that I think about it....
ANOTHER APPROACH - If you have a midi box you could take that midi out the LOGIC master.. (turn it on it settings) and patch it into the 2nd computer and have the application on the 2nd computer sync to that.. But if you were trying to merge a midi clock from one source and a midi keyboard from another... that's another problem to work out..

    Hall Palm Desert,
if your Mac monitor has Thunderbolt ports, and the PC monitor is on the end of the daisy chain, then you might be able to do it by connecting your PC monitor’s VGA cable to a Mini DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter (e.g. Apple, NewerTech), connecting that cable’s Mini DisplayPort end to one of the Mac monitor’s Thunderbolt ports, and then connecting a Thunderbolt cable between the other port on the Mac monitor and your MacBook Pro.

  • How to delete the messages in clock-in/clock-out

    Hi All,
I need to delete the messages in clock-in/clock-out which are appearing in portal, to delete this messages is there any report at R/3 side kindly suggest me help me in this
    waiting for your responses .....
    Regards,
    Shilpa.

you can run the report RPUP1D00 for the periods that you need to delete
the messages without any problems, but please read the documentation
    carefully before starting.
Please note, that RPTERR00 always reports ALL errors. It does not matter
in which period they appeared. Please destinguish between errors and
    notes.
The errors which appear during a time evaluation run are stored in table
ERT in cluster B1 and in table FEHLER in cluster B2 are intended to
store and display those errors as long as the errors are not corrected.
If you don't want these errors to be displayed any more you either have
to correct the errors or you must delete Cluster B1 via report RPUP1D00.
The old NOTES are transferred from the ERT/B1 to FEHLER/B2 with each
    subsequent run of time evaluation.
Your time administrators should normally work with PT40 and confirm
'I' messages or correct errors by using the error handling.
This report can be run like this

    Hi Bala
You can have clock in and clock out in a weekly view.
you have to change the data entry profile settings.
In general settings tab in data entry profile click the with clock times button and maintain the Period type to 02 in time settings tab.
And you can view the weekly entry in clock in and clock out.

  • Work flow in clock-in clock-out correction

    Hi guys,
my clock-in clock-out is configured to have a approval process. The standard workflow "12300111" is assigned to the "WF ID New Clock-In/Out Entries" parameter for the clock-in clock-out correction. When i execute the report RPTCORDBVIEW it shows me the status of the WF item as been "started", but some how it does not turn up in MAnagers inbox even after a while.
The same WF when attched to leave request runs fine. Has any one faced this issue before. Myself not been pretty familiar with workflow am clueless as to what the issue coulc.
    Any suggestions.

    Hi Raj,
Isnt this workflow WF12300111 'The General Workflow for Documents'? As per help.sap.com, this is the workflow we should be using for Clock In/ Out Corrections , besides Leave Request.
I am facing the same error..ie The workflow is trigerred, but the text says 'Approve Leave request" in Manager's inbox. In fact, there is no standard screen for approving the clock In/ Out corrections in webdynpro.
Have you made use of any other workflow instead?
Any inputs on the same would be greatly appreciated?

  • HDMI mini and no 5.1 out the HDMI port

Looking through the posts there seems to be a reoccurring issue and that is when using the HDMI port on the mini there is not way to get 5.1 stereo out the HDMI port. 3.1 stereo seems to be working fine on it. That's with having the sound output set to HDMI and all that jazz. The only way I can get 5.1 out the mini is with a mini-TOSlink cable in the earphone jack and setting the sound output to digital in the sound system preferences. This works great but uses up an extra digital port on my receiver that I shouldn't have to use because HDMI should carry this. Hopefully there will be some kind of firmware update to fix this issue.

This is an ongoing issue for many folks, which you can see by doing a search just in the Early 09 Mac mini and later forums. The adapter you link has been the way many folks have solved the issue.
